Ferrari 360 N-GT The Ferrari 360 N-GT was a 360 Challenge race car tuned by Michellotto for the N-GT category of the FIA GT Championship. It was the fastest version of the Ferrari 360 with the engine generating a power output of over when derestricted. The 360 N-GT was capable of a top speed of around with a 0- acceleration time of around 3 seconds. It was the final car built through a Ferrari-Michelotto collaboration.

The second most popular moped of this era came from Honda, the SS50. They had a similar speed, and thanks to their 4-stroke design were cleaner, more economical and potentially longer lived though without quite the same acceleration. All suffered the same legislative fate in August 1977, when speed restrictions were introduced. For a short time after this date some smaller manufacturers (particularly Italian) brought in machines that could easily be derestricted without the use of any additional parts or any machining.

The final VR-4 Meaning Viscous Realtime Four Wheel Drive was introduced in 1996. The engine capacity was enlarged substantially to 2.5 L, which pushed the power up by 15 percent to the Japanese voluntary limit of , but no longer satisfied Japanese regulations concerning engine displacement size and, as a result, Japanese buyers were now liable for additional yearly tax requirements.
