That year they succeeded in lighting one-fourth of the lane. Over the next few years as the lighting grew along the lane, the number of spectators increased with many arriving by automobile to motor their way between the illuminated rows. The lane was referred to as the Avenue of the Deodars.

Most places where this species is being introduced into an urban setting has less harsh conditions, letting it grow more resiliently. Deodars can range from 40ft in height to 160ft making them a prominent figure in the urban forest.

Chail is situated at an altitude of 2,250 m. The place is surrounded by the forests of chir pine and gigantic deodars. Shimla, Solan and Kasauli can also be viewed at night from here. Chail is pleasant in summers and cold in winter.

Pehjan is an alpine pasture situated about 25 km (15.5 mi) from Khag in the Himalayas. In the local language, it is called Nueer. The pasture is reached via a route from Khag to Gogaldara via Donwar, Brari Pather, Anzwaer, and Yanga Pather. It is serene, picturesque and rich in deodars, covered with various kinds of asters and several plants of saussurea lappa (Kuth), surrounded by lush green forests on four sides.

Bamta lies in the south-western ranges of the Himalayas at 31.01917°N 77.62028°E. It has an average altitude of 2,400 metres above mean sea level. Upper parts of Bamta are surrounded by forests of chir pine and gigantic deodars, and lower areas have sharp-edged mountain slopes close to the river. Geographically Bamta Valley falls between the Kuppar peak in the north and Shalvi and Naarti rivers (subsidiaries of Yamuna river) in the south.

Bounded by dense forests, the Tosa Maidan meadow is situated about 25 km from Khag at the foot of the Pir Panjal range. After crossing the upper mountain reaches of Drang, Zakhora and other small villages, one reaches the pasture of Tosa Maidan. Tosa Maidan is the largest pasture in its surrounding areas, 3 miles in length and 1.5 miles in width. Sky-touching deodars fence this pasture presenting a view of a green carpet in summer.

The first final MBBS examination was held in April 1954. The Medical Council of India and General Medical Council of Britain recognized the degree awarded. Tosamaidan is a large pasture with a historical background. Bounded by dense forests of deodars, it is situated about 10 km from Khag in the Himalayas. Many countries' shepherds visit the area from ancient times and it is still the First priority of shepherds, and it was a frequent route for Mughals travelling to Poonch and Punjab. Till 2017 it was occupied by Indian forces,many people have died due to the abandoned ecposive materials in vast tracts of pastures.

The Tosa Maidan pasture is a large pasture that is surrounded by dense forests of deodars and pinus, giving it the appearance of a green carpet in summer. It is situated about 15 km (9.3 mi) from Khag in the Himalayas. In ancient times, shepherds from many countries used to visit the area and it was on the regular route for Mughals travelling to Poonch district and Punjab in Pakistan. Today the area is frequently used by local shepherds and the Gujjar community.

Santa Rosa Avenue was to be the main approach to John's mansion from the Pasadena city limit. In 1883, returning from a trip to Italy, John described an impressive stand of deodars (Cedrus deodara, the Tree of God), indigenous to the Himalayas. John returned with a handful of seeds from the trees. Having consulted with an arborist friend of his at the Department of Agriculture, who assured him the trees should do well in Southern California, he had Frederick plant them in a nursery behind his house.

Both the shrines have a masonry plinth and a wooden superstructure of deodars. He was known for his mystical powers and had devotees amongst Muslims as well as Hindus. As in practically every other part of Himachal, temples abound in the Chindi-Karsog area.
