Peete was initially imprisoned at San Quentin State Prison before being transferred to the California Institution for Women in Tehachapi. Greta Zimmer Friedman (born Grete Sara Zimmer; June 5, 1924 – September 8, 2016) was an Austrian-born American who was photographed being grabbed and kissed by Navy sailor, George Mendonsa (1923–2019) in the iconic V-J Day in Times Square photograph of 1945 by Life magazine photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt. For decades the photograph was misattributed in popular culture as being that of a nurse, however, Friedman was wearing a white uniform because she was a dental assistant.

Acceptance into the nursing and dental programs is selective, and minimum GPAs are specified for these programs. Thomas Bayne (1824 - July 5, 1888) (also known as "Sam Nixon") was an African American Republican politician. Born a slave, he became a dental assistant and Underground Railroad conductor in Norfolk, Virginia, before escaping to New Bedford, Massachusetts, where he changed his name to Thomas Bayne. Returning to Norfolk after the American Civil War, Bayne worked as a dentist and also preached; he became a leader in the African American community. He was elected a delegate to the Virginia Constitutional Convention of 1868 as a Republican, but was never again elected to another office.

It was almost immediately raised to three-alarm at 4:59PM when heavy smoke impeded firefighters' process up higher floors. By the time reinforcements arrived, it was upgraded to four-alarm at 5:17PM because the 15th floor was on fire, and was upgraded again to five-alarm—the highest level in Hong Kong, at 7:15PM on that day.

However, Stringfellow's fame derived from his confidential service, sometimes directly for General Robert E. Lee, but much through J.E.B. Stuart until his death in March 1864. By the end of the war, Stringfellow was known as the most dangerous man in the Confederacy, with a $10,000 bounty placed on his head. The Contributions of Hispanic Servicewomen--Written by: Judith Bellafaire, Ph.D., Curator After being sworn in during the ceremonies held in San Juan, García Rosado and the other 199 women were sent to Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia for their basic training. The women were tested for their abilities and were given further training. Their duties varied, some were assigned as dental assistants, others as clerks and so on. García Rosado was assigned to the position of dental assistant. The women were assigned to Company 6, 2nd Battalion, 21st Regiment of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, a segregated Hispanic unit, and upon the completion of their training were sent to the Port of Embarkation of New York City.

George Mendonsa and Greta Friedman, determined to be the most likely subjects of the photograph, were the guests of honor at the Bristol, Rhode Island, July 4 parade in 2009 Mendonsa and Friedman (both individually and together), as well as Shain, Muscarello, and McDuffie, were widely interviewed in the succeeding years by Life, PBS, NBC, CBS, and others. All healthcare programs offered are accredited with both the state and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Specific objectives of this program are to introduce the student to the sociological, psychological and social work perspectives of mental health, drug and alcohol issues, interviewing and assessing techniques, case management, counseling techniques and group dynamics.

Great Falls College–Montana State University was established in 1969 along with several other vocational centers at the request of the Montana Legislature to offer training in vocational and technical fields such as adult education, nursing and dental assistant. The Great Falls Vocational-Technical Center was completed in December 1976 and was accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges three years later. When the Montana Board of Regents of Higher Education restructured the state's colleges and universities with the goal of streamlining the states higher education in the wake of decreased state funding, the Great Falls Vo-Tech Center was placed under the administration of the Montana State University system and was renamed Montana State University College of Technology – Great Falls.

Public health dentistry, is practiced generally through government sponsored programs, which are for the most part directed toward public-school children in the belief that their education in oral hygiene is the best way to reach the general public. The pattern for such programs in the past was a dental practitioners annual visit to a school to lecture and to demonstrate proper tooth-brushing techniques. The 1970s saw the emergence of a more elaborate program that included a week of one-hour sessions of instruction, demonstration, and questions and answers, conducted by a dentist and a dental assistant and aided by a teacher who had previously been given several hours of instruction. Use was also made of televised dental health education programs, which parents were encouraged to observe.

In 2007, Kaplan agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit that had been brought against Kaplan and BarBri, a company offering a widely used bar exam preparation course. Among the allegations in the suit, which charged that BarBri had overcharged students, was an allegation of federal antitrust violation claiming that Kaplan had agreed not to compete in the bar review business while BarBri agreed it would not compete in the LSAT business. In some U.S. states, dental assistants can work in the field without a college degree, while in other states, dental assistants must be licensed or registered. Dental assistants can receive formal education through academic programs at community colleges, vocational schools, career colleges, technical institutes, universities and dental schools with most programs needing only 8 to 11 months to complete. The Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association accredits dental assisting school programs, of which there are over 200 in the United States. To become a Certified Dental Assistant, or CDA, dental assistants must take the DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) CDA examination after they have completed an accredited dental assisting program, while those who have been trained on the job or have graduated from non- accredited programs are eligible to take the national certification examination after they have completed two years of full-time work experience as dental assistants.

Quine was born on September 11, 1938, in Fennville, Michigan, to Irene Elizabeth Quine (1916-2008) and Robert Corkill Quine (1895-1943). Susie Sharp's father James Sharp, after starting a school that achieved success, but then burned down, and going broke trying to sell insurance, had moved to Reidsville, passed the bar and become a prominent local attorney, well known for his spirited defense of the accused. Susie Newsome was the daughter of Florence Sharp Newsome, the younger sister of Susie (the justice). Susie Newsome did not like Albuquerque, because inter alia folks did not react with stunned recognition at the name of "Sharp." Delores had never taken to Susie, and increasing marital friction had nudged Tom to drift to the more welcoming arms of his dental assistant, leading to a difficult divorce and custody battle over the couple's two sons.
