The Deadends is a 'made up culture', which Georgeson has investigated in a series of exhibitions, printed matter, and a film, The Deadends – in Search of Truth. This was shown at the ICA in May 2016, as part of Film is Dead - 100 Years of Dada. On the Deadends website, Georgeson asks, 'Who or what were the Deadends or deadEnds depending on whom you’re speaking to? What exactly is the meaning behind the signature shapes and forms analysts have chosen to name them after?....

The overcrossing was removed when the Key System ceased running its F-train here in 1958, and more fill was added to bring the uphill portion of Eunice up to the level of Henry Street. The lower portion of Eunice now deadends at a retaining wall below Henry.

Spring Mill station is a suburban commuter railroad station on the SEPTA Manayunk/Norristown Line in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Its official address is Station Avenue near Hector Street, Conshohocken (ZIP code 19428), but it is actually in the Spring Mill section of Whitemarsh Township. The station is located south of Hector Street, where North Lane deadends at the Schuylkill River. The original station was established by the Reading Railroad about 1880, and took its name from the nearby 18th-century grist mill.

Most existing streets still ended up as deadends. Margareten was originally an artisan district, which developed in the 19th century, by the growing population, into a working-class district. With increasing industrialization, until the turn of the century in many ways, the shift came from rural or suburban areas to more a densely built-up urban area. In 1869, in 921 houses lived around 54,000 inhabitants. Up to 1900, the number of houses rose to 1579 and the number of dwellings was approximately 25,300.

And, a portion of Jackrabbit Road—the original road from Hempstead Highway (SH 290) to SH 90 (I-10) on this west side of Houston—still remains: it begins just south of the intersection of SH 290 and SH 6/FM 1960W and continues straight south for a couple of miles. This section of the road is straight. Before 1960, it turned west where it now deadends and continued west for a bit, turned south again, meandering through the countryside until it arrived at Addicks.

In all, it descends 3,700 feet (1,130 m) between Crater Rim Drive and the south coast. Holei Sea Arch where the road deadends Between September and November 2014, work was carried out to reopen Chain of Craters Road, initially as a one-lane graveled surface, to serve as an emergency road for the residents of Lower Puna, who were in danger of being cut off if the June 27 flow had crossed Highway 130 at Pāhoa. The flow ultimately stalled on the outskirts of Pāhoa, however, removing the immediate threat, and the route was again buried by lava by the "61G" flow in 2016. The 2018 lower Puna eruption prompted a similar repair, but the road remains closed to non-emergency use by automobiles.
