PA 666 in Hickory Township Pennsylvania Route 666 begins at an intersection with US 62 along the banks of the Allegheny River in East Hickory. The route progresses eastward, intersecting with East Hickory Road, a dead end street that is part of old US 62\. With trees and some homes surrounding the highway, PA 666 continues out of East Hickory and into Hickory Township. The highway heads into Queen, intersecting with two dead-end streets before turning to the southeast.
Elgin Boulevard begins as a suburban residential street at Freeport Drive, one of a series of loop streets within Spring Hill. The Hernando County Road 572 designation begins at Deltona Boulevard (CR 589). The road encounters Freeport Drive again, but that road becomes a dead end street south of Elgin. East of Nardello Avenue most streets north of CR 572 run for at least one block before becoming dead end streets along the south side of the Sand Hill Scout Reservation.
The Brackett House stands in a large residential area southwest of downtown Reading, at the northeast corner of Summer Street and Nichols Lane. Summer Street is one of the area's through roads, and Nichols Lane is a short dead-end street with later infill construction. The house is a 1-1/2 story wood frame structure, with a broad shallow-pitch gable roof and wide clapboard siding. The front face of the roof has a wide shed-roof dormer at its center.
As a result of the success of this film, Azoulay was asked to speak at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in honor of International Women's Day. Azoulay-Hasfari has acted in many Israeli films, including Rage and Glory (Daphna), Nadia (title role), Dead End Street (Ilana), "The Quarry" (Esther), Girls (Shuli Hazan), Sh'Chur (Heli), Lovesick on Nana Street (Levana), Schwartz Dynasty (Ronit), Shiva (Simona), with Ronit Elkabetz. She also acted in several American films, including Delta Force 3: The Killing Game and Human Shield.
The Hapgood House is set on the east side of Treaty Elm Lane, a rural residential dead-end street in central Stow, near a stream that descends to the Assabet River. It is a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure, five bays wide, with a side gable roof, large central chimney, and clapboard siding. A leanto section was added to the rear, giving the house a saltbox profile, and an ell extends to the right. The front eave is deeper than is typical for the period.
In 1907 a two-storey station was built by the James Bay Railway, south of the original Stouffville Sideroad. The name of the company changed to the Canadian Northern Ontario Railway, and later to the Canadian Northern Railway and was ultimately merged into the Canadian National Railway in 1923. The Gormley railway station was demolished in the early 1970s. Station Road, which once led to station, is now a narrow dead-end street that gives access to a few homes and businesses from Gormley Road.
Today, exit 53A is a half-diamond interchange while Austin Street and Howard Street are now dead-end streets, and Sinn Street never reached North Ocean Avenue. Maple Avenue had crossed the median on NY 27 between North Ocean Avenue and NY 112 until 1975. This road could also have been used as a connecting ramp to both roads. Today, the north section only intersects the westbound service road, while the south section was converted into a dead-end street north of Austin Street.
Stone Avenue, the road for which the station is named, is actually a minor street which terminates at West Burlington Avenue in front of the station, only to begin again at a dead end street south of Bell Avenue. The closest major street to the station is Brainard Avenue. It is from the main La Grange station. The station was built in 1901 by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad according to a Richardsonian Romanesque design by the company's general architect, Walter Theodore Krausch.
The road moves away from the tracks just before entering Nashville where it is given the name South Davis Street. After the intersection with South Jefferson Street, it curves to the right and runs straight north. Two blocks later, Georgia State Route 76 joins the concurrency with US 129/SR 11/125 at the intersection of Adel Highway and Hazel Avenue. A former section of SR 76 (Adel Highway) can be seen just north of that intersection on the west side as a dead-end street.
Neff Lake Road begins at the northeast corner of the lake the road was named after and runs straight north. The segment that contained the county designation began at CR 572 in Spring Lake and climbed a hill, briefly has a conjunction with Old Spring Lake Road. After the second intersection with Old Spring Lake Road, former CR 577 takes a steep descent onto a bridge over a small creek. The rest of the route passes by farmlands, forests and various dead end street and dirt roads.
The majority of its traffic merges into the Nassau Expressway, which starts just east of the Linden Boulevard/Conduit Avenue intersection. Linden Boulevard becomes a dead-end street at Pitkin Avenue; another dead-end stretch of the boulevard is at Desarc Road, one block east of Pitkin Avenue. Linden Boulevard then resumes at Cross Bay Boulevard one block east of the dead-end stretches, is interrupted by Aqueduct Racetrack, resumes at Rockaway Boulevard in South Ozone Park, and continues into Nassau County from there.
On the south side, across Garden Street, lie the Old Burying Ground, The First Parish in Cambridge, Christ Church (a National Historic Landmark), and several houses. The 1987 amendment to the district also added a small cluster of residential properties on Farwell Street, a dead-end street that is connected to the district by a footpath adjacent to the Old Burying Ground. It represents a well-preserved collection of properties dating to the 18th and 19th centuries that harken back to the days when Harvard Square was primarily residential in character.
There, the route turns to the northeast at an intersection with Harman Road, a dead-end street to a local farm. PA 184 passes a large patch of woods to the east and enters the hamlet of White Pine. In White Pine, the highway passes some residences and intersects with Lick Run Road, where the route makes an abrupt turn to the east through farms. At the intersection with Campbell Road, PA 184 turns to the north along the right-of-way of Campbell Road, while the original eastward route continues as Cogan House Road.
Yantic Falls is located on the Yantic River northwest of downtown Norwich, dropping through a narrow slot now spanned by a railroad bridge and a footbridge. Yantic Street is an L-shaped dead-end street providing access to the large mill complex located below the falls. It includes an array of mill buildings, many of them dating to the second half of the 19th century. They are typically built of brick, with windows set either in rectangular openings with granite headers, or in segmented-arch openings with soldier brick headers.
Macdonald is one of the artists who appeared with Ray Davies on his 2010 album See My Friends; she sang with him on a cover of The Kinks' 60s hit "Dead End Street". Her third album, Life in a Beautiful Light, was released on 11 June 2012. It supplied three singles: "Slow It Down", which became a number 45 hit on the UK Singles Chart; "Pride", and "4th of July". On 17 February 2017, Macdonald released her fourth studio album, Under Stars, which entered at number two on the Scottish and UK Album Charts.
Muni Metro station in the background The southern segment of 19th Avenue begins as a northern continuation of St. Charles Avenue, a dead end street south of Randolph Street near the Ingleside neighborhood of San Francisco. 19th Avenue then proceeds northwest to Junipero Serra Boulevard. After crossing Junipero Serra, it heads north, passing San Francisco State University and Stonestown Galleria to Sloat Boulevard. The street then runs through the Sunset District to the southern edge of Golden Gate Park, where it then continues inside the park as Crossover Drive.
After the Kinks failed to renew their American distribution contract with Reprise, the label assembled this compilation without input from the band. Instead, Reprise invited rock journalist and noted Kinks fan John Mendelsohn to compile this package, ignoring the band's early trademark hits already appearing on Greatest Hits!. Mendelsohn also contributed the liner notes. The album contains all five singles that charted on the Billboard Hot 100 during the time period covered, two of which appeared here on album in the U.S. for the first time: "Dead End Street" and "Mr. Pleasant".
The Williams Street Extension is a residential dead end street in the northwestern part of Bellows Falls, running west from Atkinson Road (United States Route 5) to end at a steep hillside at its western end. Myrtle Street, another residential street, ends in a T junction roughly midway through its length. The street has eighteen primary residential structures, most of which are two or three story multiunit wood frame buildings. All have slate roofs, and most have wooden clapboard or shingle siding, although some have been clad in synthetic siding.
The house's lot is on the east side of Aldridge, a dead-end street, south of its intersection with Prospect Drive and Highland Avenue, both of which lead to King Street (New York State Route 120), the main road through Chappaqua. All the neighboring lots are of similar size, with more modern houses. Tall mature trees buffer them from neighboring properties. Aldridge traverses a hill that rises steeply from the west, where downtown Chappaqua is located on one of the few level areas amid this generally hilly portion of Westchester County.
The teenagers confessed to having thrown multiple rocks at cars driving south on I-75 from their position on the Dodge Road overpass in Vienna Township. They also confessed to playing a game called "overpassers" where hitting a car, which was called a "dinger," earned points. They competed in this for money. The five teenagers had gathered large rocks, one weighing , from a dead-end street in Vienna Township, loading them into the flatbed of a pickup truck, before driving to the overpass where they were dropped onto cars as they passed below.
The plan was for Allan to be executed, his body to be disposed of, and for him to be regarded as a missing person. Clarke paid Athanasi, an active drug dealer, about $93,000 to organise the murder. Athanasi then engaged his long-time friend Cavkic to actually carry it out. The plan almost succeeded but for two alert policemen, Senior Constables Michael Strongman and Travis McCarthy, who apprehended Cavkic driving Allan's car, a blue Mercedes Benz, in a dead end street at Altona Meadows, a western suburb of Melbourne.
Kohlberg sometimes experienced depression as well. On January 19, 1987, Kohlberg parked at the end of a dead end street in Winthrop, Massachusetts, across from Boston's Logan Airport. He left his wallet with identification on the front seat of his unlocked car and apparently walked into the icy Boston Harbor. His car and wallet were found within a couple of weeks, and his body was recovered some time later, with the late winter thaw, in a tidal marsh across the harbor near the end of a Logan Airport runway.
At this point, the farmlands are gradually replaced by waterside homes and communities as NY 14 closes in on the bay's shoreline. It reaches the water's edge as it enters Sodus Point, where it initially follows South Fitzhugh Street. At Lake Road, the Seaway Trail heads west to follow the southern edge of Lake Ontario while NY 14 turns east onto Bay Street. After three blocks, Bay Street gives way to Greig Street, a dead-end street leading out onto a peninsula protruding into the mouth of Sodus Bay.
The album was released in a particularly tumultuous year for the band, with personnel problems (Pete Quaife was injured; he resigned and later rejoined the band), legal and contractual battles and an ongoing hectic touring schedule. The album was critically well received, but did not sell particularly well at the time of its release (especially in the United States), and was out of print for many years. Reissues since 1998 have included bonus tracks of songs released contemporaneously as singles (most notably "Dead End Street") as well as two unreleased tracks.
In September 2020, brain-eating ameoba were detected in the Lake Jackson drinking water supply resulting in the death of a 6 year old boy. 11 samples were taken around the city and of those, three returned a preliminary positive results. The hose bib at the victim's home, a hydrant at a dead end street and a splash pad storage tank. This resulted in Brazosport Water Authority issuing a do not use order on tap water in late September which was loosed to boil first after a few days.
The city in which traditional stone architecture is dominant, has an organic structure. Narrow streets, stone walls and houses with courtyards inside create the structure of the city together with the monumental buildings. The houses of Kilis are shaped depending on the effects of the climate and cultural approaches and are not easily detected from outside as they are surrounded with high walls. You can see the houses as places located around large courtyards when you enter through the door that opens to the street or dead-end street.
LeClair Avenue is a short dead-end street on the west side of North Street between Union and West Spring Streets, in a residential area northwest of downtown Winooski. The street is lined with a small number of wood-frame and brick single and multi-family residences. Also included in the historic district are several buildings facing North Street, which formed part of the original development of LeClair Street. The buildings were all built between about 1880 and 1905, and are basically vernacular in style, with modest hints of popular architectural styles of the period.
The film was unsuccessfully prosecuted as a video nasty in the UK a few years after its release. Some commentators have questioned its attempted banning, given that the film is fairly tame in comparison to other entries on the list, leading some to suggest it was mistakenly chosen instead of the infamous Last House on Dead End Street, which was released under an alternative title The Fun House and oddly did not appear on the list. It was released uncut on VHS in 1987 and later on DVD in 1999.
Berkeley Street is located west of Cambridge Common in western Cambridge, running parallel to and south of Concord Avenue between Craigie Street and Garden Street. Land in this area was acquired by Harvard University professor Joseph Worcester in 1843, and laid out for subdivision in 1852. Most of the houses on Berkeley Street were built between 1852 and 1872, for people prominent in business, culture, and politics. Berkeley Place, a dead end street projecting southerly from Berkeley Street, was laid out in 1890; it was originally a back lane to the Longfellow House, which was Worcester's home in the 1840s.
He even obtained permission to shoot in the Imperial Courts housing project, the first time L.A. street gangs had allowed film crew to be brought into that neighborhood. The crew also filmed in Hoover Block and Baldwin Village. Parts of the film were shot on a dead end street called Palmwood Drive, where the Black P. Stones Blood gang members were seen on the rooftops. Cle Shaheed Sloan, the gang technical advisor of Training Day, managed to get on screen real-life gang members from Rollin' 60 Crips, PJ Watts Crips, and B. P. Stones (a Bloods set).
The story revolves around a young girl, a recent high school graduate, who is living with her mother in a small house located in a dead end street somewhere in Tehran, the capital city of Iran. The protagonist fills her uneventful days by either helping her mother at home or studying for her university entry exam. Alone in her room, listening to love songs, she often daydreams about love and the possibility of finding an ideal man. She begins to notice a handsome yet mysterious man who is always following her and waiting in her street, staring at her bedroom window.
A level crossing, formerly located at Shorts Road, south of the station, was closed in the late 1990s, and a dead-end street was created on either side of the railway line. Until the track was duplicated to Gowrie in 1998, the line north of the station had only a single track, apart from the island platform at Gowrie, which had two platforms. However, one platform was a dock platform, meaning trains couldn't cross at Gowrie, and had to cross at Merlynston. In 1984, boom barriers were provided at the nearby Boundary Road level crossing, located at the down end of the station.
Like the Jane Loop at the other end of the Bloor line, several local and intercity bus routes also terminated at the loop, allowing commuters to transfer between routes. Luttrell Avenue, an otherwise obscure, tiny dead- end street, was (at the time the loop was in use) the eastern limit of the City of Toronto as it intersected with Danforth Avenue. The borders of the borough of East York dipped down south of the Danforth at this point to encompass the Ford Motor plant (later Shoppers World Danforth), which lay directly to the east of Luttrell.
Many "filmed inserts" were produced by UK artists so they could be screened on TV when the bands were not available to appear live. Pink Floyd were pioneers in producing promotional films for their songs including "San Francisco: Film", directed by Anthony Stern, "Scarecrow", "Arnold Layne" and "Interstellar Overdrive", the latter directed by Peter Whitehead, who also made several pioneering clips for The Rolling Stones between 1966 and 1968. In the UK The Kinks made one of the first "plot" promotional clips for a song. For their single "Dead End Street" (1966) a miniature comic movie was made.
For cars it is a dead-end street, but Baldwin Street is linked across the top by Buchanan Street, a footpath following an otherwise unformed (i.e. unpaved) road linking it with Calder Avenue and Arnold Street, which are unformed in their upper reaches where Baldwin is steepest. The streets running parallel to Baldwin are all quite steep: Arnold Street (1:3.6), Dalmeny Street (1:3.7), and Calder Avenue (1:5.4). In 1987, Baldwin Street was officially recognised as the world's steepest street by the Guinness Book of Records following a two-year campaign by the broadcaster Jim Mora.
Shortly after the previously mentioned intersection CR 476 encounters a blinker light at US 98. After this intersection, it crosses a former railroad spur to a mine, and winds around some swampy lakes near some private houses before heading straight east through a mostly wooded area. Somewhere along this segment, it also crosses the former right-of-way of a Seaboard Air Line Railroad line between Brooksville and Inverness, north of Simmons Prairie Lake. The road begins to curve more often, and even climbs and descends along some hills as it passes by many local dead end street.
Erie began as a simple personal injury case when the plaintiff filed his complaint in diversity in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. As explained by the Second Circuit in its decision below, Harry Tompkins, a citizen and resident of Pennsylvania, was walking next to the Erie Railroad's Erie and Wyoming Valley Railroad tracks in Hughestown, Pennsylvania, at 2:30 a.m. on July 27, 1934. A friend of Tompkins had driven him to within a few blocks of his home, which was located on a dead-end street near the tracks.
After crossing over the Esopus Creek into Ulster, I-587 terminates at a roundabout that links I-587 and NY 28 to the New York State Thruway (I-87) at exit 19. West of I-87, the route crosses the Blue Line of Catskill Park and becomes the Onteora Trail. Although still four lanes wide, the route is no longer a limited-access highway as it has an at-grade intersection with Modica Lane, a local dead-end street, just west of where it passes over the Thruway. Not long afterward, the highway meets US 209 by way of a cloverleaf interchange.
The majority of the music Brown heard around him was ska and calypso, but he was more interested in reggae. So with the money he made as a full-time mechanic, Brown, with partner Oswald Creary, bought a house on a dead-end street in Malton, and built a small recording studio in the basement. This would be where all of Summer Records music would be recorded. The first two songs on the label, "Love Makes the World Go Round" and "Sunrise" by Johnny Osbourne with Bunny Brown, were still built around rhythms imported from Jamaica.

County Route 61 is unsigned Waverly Avenue, a mainly two-lane road that runs north and south along the Islip–Brookhaven town line until the town line makes a sharp left along the Greenport Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. ;Route description CR 61 begins at CR 19, in the town of Brookhaven where that section of Waverly Avenue becomes Patchogue–Holbrook Road, and Log Road becomes a dead end street. From here, road takes a northeasterly turn and straightens out along the Islip–Brookhaven town line. CR 61 is the last interchange along Woodside Avenue (CR 99) before its western terminus at Patchogue–Holbrook Road.
This was quickly followed by a tour to Norway and Spain. The first recording sessions he took part in with the Kinks were on 26 June 1966 at Pye Studios, London for "Little Miss Queen Of Darkness" (Although Quaife claimed he was the bassist for that track in a 2005 interview). Dalton also played bass on "Dead End Street", recorded on 28 October 1966 during an evening session (unusually, without Shel Talmy). Shortly after his accident, Quaife announced he was not returning, only to change his mind and successfully requesting to come back in November 1966, leaving Dalton to return to his day job.
In 1726, a new company, the Opéra-Comique, made up of performers from the Saint-Germain fair, was formed. It first settled near the fair on rue de Buci, then moved to the dead-end street cul de sac des Quatre-Vents. Some of the most famous popular French singers of the period and the playwright Charles-Simon Favart made their debut there. In 1744, the Opéra-Comique was taken over by an ambitious new director, Jean Monnet, who built a new theater at the Saint-Laurent fair, with decorations by the famed artist François Boucher, and an orchestra of eighteen musicians conducted by Jean-Philippe Rameau.
In the mid-1960s, construction began on the Keeler Street Expressway, a limited-access highway extending across Irondequoit from the Genesee River (at the Veterans Memorial Bridge) to the Sea Breeze Expressway. The first section from North Goodman Street to the Sea Breeze Expressway was completed by 1968 while the remainder opened in late 1969. The name of the expressway was derived from Keeler Street, a small residential street that originally connected to East Ridge Road and St. Paul Street by way of a traffic circle on the east bank of the Genesee River. The street was turned into a dead-end street as a result of the expressway's construction.
"Dead End Street" is a song by the British band the Kinks from 1966, written by main songwriter Ray Davies. Like many other songs written by Davies, it is to some degree influenced by British Music Hall. It was originally released as a non-album single, but has since been included as one of several bonus tracks from the Face to Face CD. The song, like many others by the group, deals with the poverty and misery found in the lower classes of English society. The song was a big success in the UK, reaching #5 on the singles charts, but only reached #73 in the United States.
County Road 18A is the one suffixed alternate route of SR 18. It begins at SR 18 east of the Worthington Springs town limits and heads north, around the west and north side of a local airport named Flying Tiger Field, although on the north side of this airport it runs northeast and southwest. Before the intersection with Southwest 131st Lane the route turns east and then curves to the north at the two intersections with Southwest 142nd Place. It takes a curve to the northwest after a dead end street named Southwest 53rd Terrace, but take a far more drastic turn west at the intersection of Southwest 63rd Street, a connecting route to CR 231A.
Today, only two segments of the road remain in the form of First Avenue, a short, dead end street off Fairview Avenue, and Brookrun Drive, a street off Masonic Avenue with a dead end located south of the present CR 83–Wrana Drive intersection. At Wrana Drive, North Ocean Avenue rejoined the current alignment for before separating at a location near Robinson Avenue and Petty Lane. The road rejoined the modern routing at the Long Island Lighting Company High Tension Line right-of-way midway between I-495 and CR 16\. This segment was completely abandoned as North Ocean Avenue was realigned to accommodate exit 63 along I-495 (the Long Island Expressway).
Lenape Lane is an unpaved one-lane dead-end street about three-quarter mile (1.1 km) in length running eastward off Shades just north of I-80. It ends at a farmhouse for which it is little more than a driveway, but halfway down there is space to park or turn around next to a wooden structure described as looking like an abandoned stable.Ibid., 180. Weird New Jersey writes that visitors to this stable site at night have reported extremely local fogs surrounding it and seeing apparitions in it, or sometimes even in clear weather, and also claimed the air is sometimes unusually chilly, and feeling general unease in the area for no immediately apparent reason.
Culdoscope is an instrument, a kind of endoscope, used to visualize female pelvic organs, introduced through the vagina into the cul-de-sac (which is also called the rectouterine pouch or the pouch of Douglas). The procedure of inserting the culdoscope into the rectouterine pouch is termed culdoscopy. The word culdoscope (and culdoscopy) is derived from the phrase cul-de-sac, which in French literally means "bottom of a sac", here referring to a blind pouch or cavity in the female body that is closed at one end, that is the rectouterine pouch. As early as the 13th century, a cul-de-sac was a dead-end street (or a dead-end way), a blind alley.
The southern boundary of the city was marked by what is today the alleyways Telefonsmøgen and Posthussmøgen which at the time had been toll stations. The merchant Henrik Schandorff owned the land immediately south of the city and in 1854 he petitioned the city council for permission to parcel the land off and construct new streets. The city council approved the proposal but demanded the primary, central street in the new neighborhood be wide which was considerable at the time. The initial development happened gradually and the new street was not fully built up until the late 1860s largely due to the fact that it was a dead end street ending at the river in a steep hill.
At the intersection of North Railroad Way, the route crosses the Withlacoochee State Trail, which was realigned one block west when CR 486 was being widened to four lanes, and overlaps the bike path along the south side of the route. It also includes a trailhead on the north side east of Railroad Avenue. Citrus County Road 486 and East Norvelle Bryant Highway both end at US 41, however the same intersection continues as a local road named East Parsons Point Road which becomes a dirt road east of North Wheaton Point Drive, and ends at another dirt road named North Reba Path, which is a dead end street in both directions.
Last House on Dead End Street, originally released as The Fun House, is a 1977 American exploitation horror film written, produced, and directed by Roger Watkins, under the pseudonym Victor Janos. The plot follows a disgruntled ex- convict (also played by Watkins) who takes revenge on society by kidnapping four acquaintances and filming their murders in an abandoned building. Watkins, a student at the State University of New York at Oneonta, devised the concept for the film after reading the Charles Manson biography The Family (1971) by Ed Sanders. Commissioning a cast from the university's theater department, Watkins shot the film inside an unused building on the university campus in the winter of 1972, on a budget of around $3,000.
Approaching via the South Taconic from the west, entirely within New York, is a common route to the summit but also entails the greatest vertical ascent. The trailhead for the South Taconic is located on Quarry Hill Road, a long dead-end street in the northern section of North East, at an elevation just under 1,000 feet (300 m). After passing along the edge of an old meadow, it enters the woods, crosses into Taconic State Park and then climbs steeply past a series of cascades on the south side, at some points requiring that hikers scramble. It levels off at , where the first of many views over Dutchess and Columbia counties to the Catskill Escarpment on the other side of the Hudson River open up.
Casey was born in an Irish-American catholic family and is the youngest of 3 children. He grew up on 6 Mile on the north-west side of Detroit, which he remembers as an "idyllic corner" of the city when he was a child; his house described as being "the last [...] on a dead-end street, surrounded by a school, a church, and a monastery." However, by the time he was a teenager, his street had become prone to frequent shootings and stabbings, including one on his next door neighbor's lawn when he was a just 12. After passing that and another convenience store across the street from it, the routes pass by the gateway to the Eagle Village Mobile Home Park, before approaching the blinker-light intersection with Clito Road where the Clito Baptist Church and cemetery can be found on the northwest corner.
