Amazorblades were one of the early British punk rock groups, as chronicled in Henrik Poulsen's book 77: The Year of Punk and New Wave, from Brighton, England. They released a single, "Common Truth" c/w "Mess Around" on Chiswick Records. It was later featured on the Long Shots, Dead Certs And Odds On Favourites (Chiswick Chartbusters Volume Two) compilation album (1978: Chiswick). Band member Chopper went on to join the Oysterband.

Submarine Tracks & Fool's Gold is a compilation album of various artists made up of acts on Chiswick Records. The critic and author Dave Thompson describes Submarine Tracks & Fool's Gold as a "driving" collection, rating it "eight out of ten".; The album also receives a good review on the Allmusic website. The album was followed up with the Long Shots, Dead Certs And Odds On Favourites (Chiswick Chartbusters Volume Two) compilation album in 1978.

In 1979, McDonald portrayed cheerful mother-to-be Sandra Allenby opposite Stephen Tozer in the tele-movie It's Your Child. She played the title character in the 1983 television drama Pioneer Women – Hera Ngoungou. In 1989 she appeared as Lady Guinevere Galaxy in the children's sci- fi television series Space Knights. During the 1990s, McDonald's acting credits included Dead Certs (1995) alongside Rawiri Paratene, Face Value – Her New Life (1995)—which she also produced—and Duggan (1999).

The band signed with Chiswick Records and released three singles, including "Little Queenie" (a cover of the Chuck Berry song), and one album - Cycledelic - before splitting up. First single "No-One" later featured on the Chiswick various artists sampler album Long Shots, Dead Certs and Odds On Favourites in 1978, while b-side "Incendiary Device" made number 15 in BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel’s ‘Festive Fifty’, the so-called ‘lost list’ of 1977.John Peel’s Festive Fifty on Rock List Net ; Sixteen years after its release, the publishers of The Guinness Encyclopedia of Popular Music, named Cycledelic as one of the best fifty punk albums of all-time.Larkin, Colin (1994) "All Time Top 1000 Albums", Guinness Publishing, Enfield, Chapter 9; Most of the band reformed to record a second album The Search For Xerxes in 1991.

In winning the league title Cinderford set several National League 2 South records including winning the most games (29) and gaining the most points (143). The battle for the final two relegation spots was one of the most keenest in several years with three teams threatened by the drop on the last day of the season. In the end it was Wimbledon and Barnstaple who went down on the 28 April, despite Barum getting a 17-14 win at home against the Londoners, as Old Redcliffians managed to win at home to Redruth. Old Reds had looked dead certs for relegation earlier in the season but turned it around with eight wins in the second half (compared to just 2 before Christmas) of the season to stay safe by 3 points, even leapfrogging 13th placed London Irish Wild Geese who had secured safety the week before.

In May 1977, the band both performed live for the first time and recorded the first of three sessions for John Peel at the BBC's Maida Vale studios. Later adding Steve Parry on drums, the band's second release came in August. Playing "No Russians in Russia", the Radio Stars made their TV debut on Marc, Marc Bolan's show. The track later appeared on the 1978 Chiswick sampler Long Shots, Dead Certs And Odds On Favourites (Chiswick Chartbusters Volume Two). The performance was subsequently included in Columbia's DVD release Marc,Columbia COBY-91416-7 featuring all six episodes of the Marc show. In October 1977, the band briefly entered the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart. "Nervous Wreck" backed with "Horrible Breath" peaked at No. 39. The B-side, "Horrible Breath", was a song written by Marc Bolan from his time with John's Children. The band perfgormed the single on BBC's Top of the Pops on 19 January 1978. The debut album, Songs for Swinging Lovers, named in reference to the Frank Sinatra album, finally appeared in December 1977. The band toured with Eddie and the Hot Rods and Squeeze, and played the Reading Festival in 1978. The Radio Stars released their second album in 1978, entitled Holiday Album.
