Chris Fehn was brought in to replace Darner on percussion before Slipknot traveled to Malibu, California, to work on their debut album in September 1998. Partway through the recording process of the album, Slipknot returned to Des Moines for the Christmas period. During that period, guitarist Brainard decided to leave the band. Brainard said, "some decisions were made that I wasn't particularly happy with".

Telephlebia brevicauda is a species of dragonfly in the family Telephlebiidae, known as the southern evening darner. It is a medium to large, dark chestnut brown dragonfly with dark markings on the leading edge of its wings. It is endemic to eastern Australia, occurring in alpine New South Wales and Victoria, where it inhabits boggy areas, and flies at dusk. Telephlebia brevicauda appears similar to Telephlebia godeffroyi.

The band embarked on the Night Visions Tour in 2013. The band's experiences on the tour served as an inspiration for their second album. Austrophlebia costalis, the southern giant darner, is a species of dragonfly in the family Telephlebiidae endemic to eastern Australia. Austrophlebia costalis is an enormous dark dragonfly with strong yellow markings on its body and a brown band along the leading edge of its wings. It inhabits streams and may be found on logs in shady areas. This species is believed to be one of the fastest flying odonates, with an old reference claiming to have clocked one at nearly but no modern confirmation.

A fairly large dragonfly, the Amazon darner reaches between 70 and 74 millimeters in length, with hindwing measurements between 48 and 52 millimeters. The face of this dragonfly is green and is marked with a single dark triangle on the top of the frons. The abdomen is mostly brown, but the first and second abdominal segments match the green of the thorax. Large basal spots, ranging from blue to green depending on the individual, give the abdomen a ringed appearance.

The variable darner (Aeshna interrupta) is a dragonfly of the family Aeshnidae, native from Alaska through the Northwest Territories to Newfoundland, south to New Hampshire and Michigan in the eastern United States, and to the mountains of New Mexico, Arizona, and California in the west. It's named after the distinctive broken stripes on the sides of the thorax of many male specimens. It lives in many habitats from northern and mountain peatlands to cattail marshes and temporary pools. It is the characteristic species of grassland ponds.

When hunting insects, barred owls most often prefer ground-based beetles. In Oregon, 11.7% of the diet was assorted beetles (14 species were identified), being somewhat more numerous among 3686 prey items than other non-rodent prey orders. However, some insects prey such as luna moth, eastern tiger swallowtail and green darner are presumably hawked on the wing around dawn and dusk. It is known that barred owls will sometimes come hunt near manmade light sources and campfires, flying out from the perch to quickly capture flying insects that were attracted to them.

Dragonflies in temperate areas can be categorized into two groups, an early group and a later one. In any one area, individuals of a particular "spring species" emerge within a few days of each other. The springtime darner (Basiaeschna janata), for example, is suddenly very common in the spring, but disappears a few weeks later and is not seen again until the following year.

To My Surprise is the only album by American alternative rock band To My Surprise. Released on October 7, 2003 by Roadrunner Records, it was the only album that the band released before disbanding in 2006. The album was intended to be self-produced by Shawn Crahan and Brandon Darner, but after producer Rick Rubin was sent demos by Crahan, Rubin invited the band to Los Angeles where he assumed the role of executive producer. Following the release of the album, a music video was released for the song "In The Mood" on December 1.

It only took only four months to raise the funds for the pavilion. Much of the pavilion was devoted to human ecology and home economics. On exhibit were over 80 patented inventions, including a reliance stove, a hand attachment for sewing machines, a dishwasher, a fountain griddle-greaser, a heating iron with removable handle, a frame for stretching and drying lace curtains, and a stocking and glove darner. The green darner (Anax junius) is known for its long-distance migrations, and often resorts to wing-whirring before dawn to enable it to make an early start. Becoming too hot is another hazard, and a sunny or shady position for perching can be selected according to the ambient temperature. Some species have dark patches on the wings which can provide shade for the body, and a few use the obelisk posture to avoid overheating. This behaviour involves doing a "handstand", perching with the body raised and the abdomen pointing towards the sun, thus minimising the amount of solar radiation received.

To My Surprise was an American experimental rock band formed in 2002 in Des Moines, Iowa. They are referred to as a side project of Shawn Crahan, a member/founder of heavy metal band Slipknot. In 2003 they released their debut album To My Surprise, however after losing frontman Brandon Darner in 2004 they parted ways with their record label. 2005 saw four new members join the band to begin work on a second album and in 2006 they began performing shows in the US. However, shortly after To My Surprise canceled several upcoming appearances and disbanded without releasing a second album.

The blue-eyed darner occurs in western North America and in Central America as far south as Panama, at both low and moderate altitudes. It occurs near a variety of water bodies, lakes, ponds, slow-moving streams, canals and marshy areas, especially in open rather than wooded areas. When not breeding, it is more likely than most dragonflies to be seen far away from water, in city yards, parking lots and other urban locations. It is on the wing from spring to late in the year and may be migratory in California, as a large number of them seem to appear in the fall.

The heaviest living odonates are Tetracanthagyna plagiata (Anisoptera: Aeshnidae) with a wing span of 165 mm, and Petalura ingentissima (Anisoptera: Petaluridae) with a body length of 117 mm (some sources 125 mm) and wing span of 160 mm. The longest extant odonate is the Neotropical helicopter damselfly Mecistogaster linearis (Zygoptera: Pseudostigmatidae) with a body length of 135 mm. Sometimes the giant Hawaiian darner Anax strenuus (Anisoptera: Aeshnidae) is claimed to be the largest living odonate with an alleged wing span of 190 mm, but this seems to be a myth as only 152 mm wing spans are scientifically documented.

"It's Time" is the debut single by American rock band Imagine Dragons, taken from the band's 2011 EP, It's Time, their major label debut EP, Continued Silence, as well as their major debut studio album, Night Visions (2012). The song's production is handled by Brandon Darner, and its lyrics describe the narrator's resistance to change in the face of great turmoil. The single was created prior to the recruitment of Daniel Platzman, and also prior to the departure of Andrew and Brittany Tolman. The song was first uploaded to YouTube on December 20, 2010, but did not receive an official single release until 2012. After the song was covered on Glee and heavy rotation in commercials and television shows, the song received commercial success and reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the band's first Top 40 single, as well as number four on the Alternative Songs chart and number three on the Rock Songs chart.
