Finally the player visits a marine-controlled Alien habitat, battling cybernetically- enhanced Aliens, "praetorian" Aliens, and finally the Alien Queen.
Another such pastiche is "The Foundation of S.F. Success" (1954). Both are included in his collection of short stories Earth Is Room Enough. The Rats, Bats and Vats series also includes numerous G&S; character names and phrases, since the D'Oyly Carte recordings of their work provide a portion of the language material for the genetically engineered and cybernetically enhanced "rats" in the stories. Another science fiction author, Robert A. Heinlein, referred to the "Little List" song in his Hugo Award-winning 1961 novel, Stranger in a Strange Land.
He needed the support armor even more to protect himself from the people who controlled his body, since his armor cybernetically responded to his own brain. The cybernetic interface and battle computer were integrated with the Telepresence Neural Net, a more subtle armor he used to simulate his degenerating nervous system. While it was still worn as a suit of armor, the functions and muscle control were carried out by the suit, not by the wearer. It has the same powers as other armours and increased speed of running.

Campbell, Ramsey. "Chasing the Unknown", introduction to Cold Print (1993), pp. 11–13. Contemporary Latino/a authors have produced a plethora of weird fiction that blends the fantastical, futuristic, comedic with horror and politics, thereby creating concepts such as: Los cosmos azteca, shape shifting robots, pre-Colombian holobooks, and patron saints that are cybernetically wired. Weird fiction by Latinx writers in the United States often brings in the fantastical to deal with social justice and psychological impact of the horrors of colonialism, migration, racism, misogyny, and mass incarceration.
Prowler has been known to use hypnotic aids and conventional hand-held weapons. Each wears steel-tipped gauntlets for scaling walls and shock absorbent foam rubber insulated boots. He also wears a cape which contains a network of pneumatic filaments which expand with air to give it a rigid structure, allowing him to glide for short distances. A technological genius, Hobie Brown has also designed the cybernetically- controlled wing harness used by Hornet (Peter Parker during Identity Crisis), although he himself was unable to use it due to the weight.

When Spider-Man was accused of murder during the Identity Crisis storyline, Peter Parker donned four different costumes to continue saving lives without anyone knowing it was him; one of the adopted identities was Hornet. The Hornet costume was designed by Mary Jane Watson-Parker and the weapon gauntlets were designed by Spider-Man based on Ben Reilly's stinger launching pod built within the web-shooters. The cybernetically-controlled wing harness was designed by Hobie Brown who never used the device due to being too heavy to be worn by a person of normal strength. Peter, however, was easily able to wear the equipment.
Like the rest of the Cyberforce team, Velocity was cybernetically enhanced by Cyberdata, a global corporation which created advanced cybernetics technology and employed it to create "Special Hazardous Operations Cyborgs", or SHOCs. Velocity's induction into the SHOCs program endowed her with supersonic speed and movement, much like DC Comics character the Flash. A layer of Kevlar was implanted beneath her skin to combat the friction generated by her high speeds. Despite the level of SHOC development Velocity underwent, she was never made a fully operational SHOC, as her psychological profile was never wiped and re-instated into the amoral and obedient state Cyberdata preferred.

Latinx speculative fiction brings humor to fantastical, futuristic, comedic, and bleak political subjects, offering readers strange new concepts such as: los cosmos azteca, shape shifting robots, pre-Colombian holobooks, talking sardines and gun toting reptiles, and cybernetically wired patron saints. Latinx authors write about the legacy of colonialism, racism, sexism, mass incarceration, machismo culture, and other social injustices. In Her Body and Other Parties, Carmen Maria Machado deals with misogyny through sci fi and ghost stories. Giannina Braschi's United States of Banana (2011) deals with Puerto Rican independence, financial terrorism, and racism, by imagining what might happen if the United States tries to sell Puerto Rico to China as debt relief or turn the island into the 51st state.

A pre-war artificial intelligence operating from a surviving military facility, Base Cochise, is constructing armies of killer machines and cybernetically modified humans to attack human settlements with the help of Irwin Finster, the deranged former commander of the base. Finster has gone so far as to transform himself into a cyborg under the AI's control. The AI's ultimate goal is to complete "Project Darwin" (which Finster was in charge of) and replace the world's "flawed" population with genetically pure specimens. With help from a pre-war android named Max, the player recovers the necessary technology and weapons in order to confront the AI at Base Cochise and destroy it by making the base's nuclear reactor melt down.
Too Human is an action role-playing game developed by Canadian developer Silicon Knights and published by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox 360 in August 2008. The game is notable for having remained in development hell for almost ten years, originally planned for release on the Sony PlayStation in 1999. Development later went into the Nintendo GameCube in 2000, before eventually selling the rights to Microsoft in 2005 and becoming an Xbox 360 exclusive. Originally planned as a part of a game trilogy, the story is a science- fictional futuristic retelling of Norse mythology that portrays the Æsir, the Norse gods, as cybernetically enhanced humans, tasked with protecting mankind from the onslaught of Loki's army of machines.
A hybrot (short for "hybrid robot") is a cybernetic organism in the form of a robot controlled by a computer consisting of both electronic and biological elements. The biological elements are typically rat neurons connected to a computer chip. This feat was first accomplished by Dr. Steve Potter, a professor of biomedical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology: What separates a hybrot from a cyborg is that the latter term is commonly used to refer to a cybernetically enhanced human or animal; while a hybrot is an entirely new type of creature constructed from organic and artificial materials. It is perhaps helpful to think of the hybrot as "semi-living", a term also used by the hybrot's inventors.
Created by Ultratech's military division under ARIA's orders, Riptor is the leader of a pack of cybernetically-enhanced raptors known as Project Stalker, meant to serve as an alternative to the Fulgore line and Cinder project, being able to operate in conditions ill-suited for either. The Stalkers are all augmented using leftover Fulgore technology and human DNA, and bred as assassins to eliminate perceived threats to Ultratech. With initial tests resulting in feral, uncontrollable units, later Stalkers undergo a simulated upbringing through the mind of their creator, Ultratech scientist Dr. Erin Gupte, instilling a pack mentality and familial bonds. Gupte's mind becomes unstable as a result of the mind-sync, however, and she is eventually eaten by her own units.

He carries out his instructions without question and helps the Special Forces for years until the Black Dragons are seemingly eliminated following Jarek's death. Hsu Hao then detonates a nuclear device in the Outer World Investigation Agency's underground headquarters before escaping, taking out the OIA's only means of interdimensional travel in the process. Mavado later sends Hsu Hao to kill Shang Tsung under Quan Chi's orders, but Jax intercepts Hsu Hao en route to Tsung's palace, and kills him by ripping out his cybernetic heart.
In the present, Dani is pursued by a Rev-9 Terminator, and she is protected by Grace, a cybernetically enhanced soldier sent from the future. While Sarah is pleased to learn that she succeeded in destroying Skynet, she is disgruntled to learn of Legion's creation and that her efforts to protect John and destroy Skynet were effectively in vain. GPS coordinates tattooed onto Grace are revealed to match the source of Sarah's texts, with the group's efforts to track this source revealing that it is the T-800 that killed John. Having formed a family and developed a form of conscience after it completed its original mission, this Terminator- now known as 'Carl'- joins them to stop the Rev-9.
It is unknown if the liquid metal and endoskeleton are individual but collaborative units, or if the endoskeleton remotely controls function of the polyalloy. This is due to the fact that the endoskeleton continued to function after the liquid terminator ceased to function. Unlike the T-1000, the Rev-9 liquid metal is black in color. While the Rev-9 is still dangerous whether its two halves are integrated or not, it is slightly more vulnerable when separate; when integrated it can take machine gun fire to the face without significant impairment, but when separate, its endoskeleton can be thrown long distances by a T-800 while the cybernetically-enhanced soldier Grace can cut its polyalloy exterior apart with a chain, disabling it until it regenerates.

Investigating, Superman intervenes in a civil war by using his speed to snatch all the guns from a group of men fighting one another. The fighting continues however, and in his continued quest to put an end to it, Superman confronts Equus, a large, monstrous, cybernetically enhanced humanoid creature whose claws are capable of piercing Superman's skin.
The player character in System Shock 2 is a soldier cybernetically modified by SHODAN to serve as her avatar. Her involvement in the game's goings-on is not disclosed up front, but only subtly hinted at in the game's early portions. She only reveals herself to the player during a moment of despair, at the same time the player discovers that Dr. Polito, the player's trusted guide for the first portion of the game, has been dead all along, as she committed suicide when she realized what SHODAN had done and was going to do. At that point SHODAN announces: After the player's and SHODAN's mutual enemies have been defeated, the player enters her expanding new reality--created via her manipulation of the Von Braun's reality-warping faster-than-light engine--and defeats her.
Roboto was introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1985. His first appearance is in the Mattel mini- comic "The Battle of Roboto", in which he is built by Man-At-Arms, who gives him a cybernetically-enhanced heart, which enables him to feel human emotions and interact with his comrades as a human rather than as a machine. He was an exceptionally brave fighter, even to the point of taking on Hordak in single combat in one issue. Given that the accompanying cartoon series was drawing to a close at the time his action figure was released, Roboto only makes one appearance in the cartoon, but unlike most other figures released at this time, Roboto was lucky enough to get a whole episode written around him.
Ariel and Chance lived with the longtime X-Men villain the Vanisher, who had reinvented himself as a Fagin-style mentor to a group of pickpockets that included Chance and Ariel. They were soon joined by Multiple Man and Siryn, two X-Men allies who were sent to locate the wayward New Mutants, and Vanisher's former star thief Boom Boom, whom Ariel recruited after a fight with Iceman. The group soon picked up several additional non-mutant members, a cyborg named Gomi and his two cybernetically enhanced psychic lobsters Bill and Don, and Moon-Boy and Devil Dinosaur, the later of whom accidentally stepped on and killed the psychic lobster Don. Most of the eight issue mini- series focused upon Sunspot's guilt towards injuring Cannonball and the mystery of Ariel.
At the end of the episode, having accepted Bobby's return, Bobby is now fully visible to the Winchesters and explains to them how he chose to remain behind; a choice Dean finds hard to accept. Following their reunion, Bobby explains Dick Roman's endgame for humanity; cure humanity of all its diseases before herding them as livestock for the Leviathans to feed on. In the midst of his explanation, the brothers receive an email from a dead Frank Devereaux, who informs them that his hard drive, in Roman's possession at his headquarters, is currently being cybernetically attacked and will lead to their new aliases and safe houses being compromised. While Bobby attempts to convince the Winchesters to send in his flask, the brothers are concerned his hatred for Roman will compromise the operation and leave him out.

Baron Zemo's mind had been transferred into the comatose body of the man whose role as Citizen V he had usurped in the first place. Later, after a teleportation accident, Zemo's mind was transferred into Techno's mechanical "Tech-Pack", which had also cybernetically replaced the broken segment of Techno's real body's spine. Atlas was later raised from the dead after a merger with Riordan, who had been crippled in battle with the Crimson Cowl. Jolt and Charcoal, the only Thunderbolts without criminal records, were assimilated into the Redeemers under the leadership of Captain America and the Zemo-possessed Citizen V. The Redeemers were promptly slaughtered by the Thunderbolts' deadliest foe, the powerful supervillain Graviton with Citizen V, Fixer (who ran away), and Jolt (who re-formed her electric form) as the only survivors of the massacre, although Smuggler and Screamer have since resurfaced.

Derek Two-Shadow was actually a resident of Earth who had signed up for the experiment after discovering that his wife had had herself rendered cybernetically immortal. This disgusted him into leaving her forever due to the fact that the surgery required had left horrible scars on her back and her body had been changed so that they could no longer enjoy a normal physical relationship. The Electric Warrior agrees to go back to Earth with the "aliens" to give them their experimental data, while the rest of the people remain behind but in a more mutually beneficial and cooperative peace.
GXP and becomes the main villain in Episode 10. He is a member of the dreaded Daluma Guild, but is also the most bloodthirsty and cruel of all the pirates, feared by both the Galaxy Police and his peers. He is captain of the Daidalos, and though sadistic enough to pass up an easy kill to instill more terror in his prey, is a survivalist and cowardly at heart, using others (even his own subordinates) as a shield when plans go awry and he has to escape. :Shank has a grudge against GP officer Seina Yamada before ever meeting him, namely because his "incompetent old man" was captured in Seina's first great lure before he actually arrived at the GP Academy, and continues his vendetta against Seina throughout the series, but, whether because of Seina's bad-luck which affects pirates or for some other reason, Tarant usually winds up on the losing end of each encounter, also losing a part of his body which is cybernetically replaced.
Realizing that crime and corruption are running rampant in Gotham without Batman's presence, Bruce offers Terry the chance to assume the role of Batman, with Bruce himself mentoring Terry, in addition to working as Bruce's chauffeur and assistant so that Terry can support his family. The new Batman soon develops his own rogues gallery, with both new villains (Derek Powers a.k.a. the radiation-emitting metahuman Blight; seductive shapeshifter Inque; the hypnotist Spellbinder; sound weaponizer Shriek; deadly assassin Curaré; insane eco-terrorist Mad Stan; cybernetically-enhanced African big game hunter the Stalker; nerdy psychokinetic Willie Watt and a new version of the Royal Flush Gang) as well as some of his mentor's old foes, such as Mr. Freeze rejuvenated; Bane's strength-enhancing drug Venom reborn as slap-on patches; the longevous Ra's al Ghul; and the Joker himself, somewhat inevitably. Terry also makes allies in Neo-Gotham, including computer genius Maxine "Max" Gibson.
It was later revealed that this version of Brainiac (like the previous ones) was merely a mentally-controlled probe of the real Brainiac, who was a living Coluan that had genetically and cybernetically enhanced himself. The true Brainiac lacked psychic powers, but still possessed super physical attributes, intelligence, and technopathy. He possesses a level of strength vastly surpassing that of a full-powered Superman; capable of easily overpowering the Kryptonian in a grapple and flooring him with a single punch, breaking his near-invulnerable skin by squeezing Superman's head with his fingers,Action Comics #868 (October 2008) and catching one of Superman's punches and crushing his hand until it bled, forcing Superman to his knees.Action Comics #870 (December 2008) His durability is also far greater than Superman's, shown when he absorbs several consecutive blows to the face from the Man of Steel without visible harm and later claims that Superman's punches did not hurt him at all.
When they first appeared in "Aliens of London" (set in 2006), the Pasameer-Day branch of the Slitheen had been in Great Britain for some time, having infiltrated various levels of British society, from community leaders and military personnel to mid-level politicians and government officials. Their intent was to instigate World War III and sell the radioactive remains of Earth to a depressed galactic economy as fuel for interstellar spacecraft. They staged the crash landing of an alien spaceship in central London, setting up a cybernetically augmented pig as an "extraterrestrial" body. With the world in a state of heightened alert and panic, and with their commander Jocrassa assuming the role of Acting Prime Minister, they persuaded the United Nations to allow the United Kingdom to use its nuclear arsenal against the alien "massive weapons of destruction". Before the Slitheen could receive the launch codes, the Ninth Doctor arranged for a Harpoon missile to demolish 10 Downing Street, ending the scheme and killing all but one of them who managed to escape through an emergency teleport.
Now cybernetically enhanced by Eteon, an organisation who believe that human extinction is inevitable and seek to unleash mass murder to bring humanity into 'balance', Lore attempts to capture Hattie so that Eteon can use the virus to further their own agenda, forcing Hobbs and Shaw to work together to keep her safe. After destroying Eteon's Moscow base and retrieving a device that will allow them to extract the virus, Hobbs takes them to Samoa so that his brother Jonah can repair the damaged equipment before a final confrontation with Lore. Having disabled Eteon's advanced weapons, Hobbs leads his family in the Siva Tau before they defeat Eteon's forces, working with Shaw to outmaneouver the enhanced Lore by alternating which of them will take the punch so that the other can get past Lore's defences. At the film's conclusion, Lore is killed when Eteon shut down his cybernetics for his failure and Hobbs takes his daughter to Samoa to introduce her to his family, but receives a call that another dangerous virus has been stolen.
In the 1995 movie, Ghost in the Shell, the main character, a woman who has been "cybernetically augmented" to become nearly 100% robot, encounters an intelligent entity claiming to be indistinguishable from a human, who is actually a rogue A.I.; this causes the main character to question her own reality and the nature of a human or being 'alive' or synthetic; with respect to how much of a human can you replace before it ceases to be human, or how human a robot can be before it ceases to be a robot, in an age of synthetic and cybernetic replacement of humans parts on a grand scale. The 1999 movie Bicentennial Man, based on the novel, stars an android who develops a personality and replaces his entire physiology with cybernetic-organic parts, so that he is the same character but now mortal. In the 2008 animated film WALL-E, it is suggested that possibly every single piece of the character WALL·E has been replaced by himself prior to the story. In the 2009 film, Gamer, Michael C. Hall's character Ken Castle develops a nanotechnology method to supplant one's biological central nervous system with a synthetic one, cell by cell.
In Malibu Comics' Mortal Kombat series, Kano appeared with all of the characters from the first game (minus Reptile) in the 1994 "Blood & Thunder" miniseries, the first issue of which borrowed liberally from John Tobias' MK comic in detailing his evading of Sonya and the Special Forces and getting into an altercation with Johnny Cage onboard Shang Tsung's ship before Cage knocks him out. In the second issue, during one of only two organized tournament fights that commenced in the entire Malibu run, Kano kills Lance, Sonya's cybernetically armed partner who had accompanied her onto the island, by way of his "Heart Rip" Fatality. He later breaks into Shang Tsung's quarters and steals his mythical tome, the Tao te Zhan, which he manages to hide on his person just before he is caught by Goro and imprisoned in a dungeon with the rest of the series characters. They all are pummeled by Goro in the following issue until Raiden comes to their rescue and breaks them out of the dungeon, but they wind up scattered throughout Outworld, and as a consequence, Kano is joined by Liu Kang, and their personalities clash from the start.
