Na'in old bazar The Bazaar is another of Na'in's historical attractions. Data collected from nesting sea turtles includes GPS nest locations; flipper tag data; PIT tagging; straight and curved line carapace dimensions; and occasionally satellite tagging. Eupselia satrapella is a species of moth of the family Depressariidae. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. The wingspan is 16.5–19 mm. The forewings are deep yellow, with the apical portion beyond an inwardly curved line from three-fifths of the costa to three-fourths of the inner-margin purple (light reddish-purple scales being thickly strewn on a black ground, towards the anal angle in longitudinal lines).

James Dunlop described the cluster as a "curiously curved line of pretty bright stars, with many stars mixt".

On November 21, 2017, artist Sheila Klein was informed by a member of the public that her artwork had been removed without her knowledge. The elements of the work had been moved to the front lawn of the Bureau of Street Lighting, and reinstalled in a curved line. The painting's use of lines, ambiguous shapes, and space all demonstrate the principles of Klee's artistry in which simple graphical elements are set in motion by energy from the artist's mind.

The wingspan is about 27-31.6 mm for males and 33.6-36.8 mm for females. The forewings are dull yellow with obscure markings. There is a rufous spot on the upper vertical arm of the discocellular, and a white rufous-edged spot at the lower angle of the cell, as well as a rufous curved line near the base, plainest on the inner margin. There is also a rufous outer line from the centre of costa to middle of the inner margin, strongly outcurved and thickened opposite the cell, then oblique inwards.

The forewings are grey with blackish markings and with the extreme base of the costa blackish. There is a black line from the base to the inner-margin at one-fifth. From this, another line proceeds obliquely towards but not reaching the costa and there is an inwardly curved transverse line in the disc before one-third, not quite reaching either margin. An inwardly oblique line is found from the costa at three-fifths towards but not reaching the middle of the inner-margin and there is another inwardly curved line from before the anal angle, not reaching the costa.

Williamsoceras and Cacheoceras are from the Whiterockian stage (lower lower Middle Ordovian) of Utah. Perkinsoceras, which appeared somewhat later, is from the Chazyan of New York, like Allotrioceras and Mirabilioceras but rather distinct from either. The Allotrioceratidae of Rousseau Flower (Flower 1955) is defined on the basis a structure within the siphuncle, assumed or real, known as an infula that consists of a thin dark, arcuate or curved, line with dark spots interpreted as endosiphunclular tubules. Allotrioceras and Mirabilioceras also have internal subdividing structures that somewhat resemble the longitudinal processes found the siphuncles of some endocerids including Williamsoceras, Cacheoceras, and Perkinsoceras.

Its outer surface is smooth and convex; it affords attachment to the temporal muscle, and forms part of the temporal fossa; on its hinder part is a vertical groove for the middle temporal artery. The Danish ships of the line, Kronborg and Dannebrog, in battle. The Danes had begun to prepare for a possible attack from the British, but much of the fleet was, in late March, not ready after the winter and would take up to six weeks to make it ready. So the Danish defense plan was that the ships available should protect the entrance to Copenhagen by lying anchored in the curved line from Trekroner Fort to Amager. Command was given to Olfert Fischer, who placed himself in the middle of the formation, with his ship Dannebrog.

Many of the glassmakers who worked in American factories were from England and their designs bore a resemblance to that of European designs. European cut glass influenced the patterns of American cut glass until 1880. Phillip McDonald designed the “Russian” pattern for T.G. Hawkes & Company of Corning, New York; from this point on American cut glass wares became richer in design and quality of both workmanship and glass. John S. As time progresses, the dot begins to form a curved line, tracing the circumference of a circle until the end of the line reaches its starting point.

The monument is badly ruined, consisting of seven set stones and two erect stones, brought together into an irregularly shaped mound, reaching a maximum height of , with a length of north to south and a width of east to west. The remains of this Court tomb are interpreted as having an asymmetrical court with one arm curving out and another arm running straight from the entrance. The three set stones, on the east, might have been part of a curved line of the court.

Puebla's famous Talavera pottery is a mix of Chinese, Arab, Spanish and indigenous design influences. Lacquered furniture was unknown in Mexico until the Manila galleons brought lacquered wood products here, which local craftsmen copied. In January 2009, just before construction commenced, the Nord-Trøndelag County Cabinet, fronted by Chair Alf Daniel Moen and Councilor of Transport Tor Erik Jensen (Conservative), stated that they did not want the tunnel to run along its planned route, but instead a less curved line that would allow it to be used as a high-speed line in the future. 1462 was trialled on the branch, but it was underpowered for the demands of the line. In 1959 certain sections of track were renewed and some of the sharpest curves were eased, and the following year a former London, Midland and Scottish Railway 2-6-2T no 41297 was tried on the line (on 18 September 1960), and showed itself to be able to negotiate the curved line. Sister locomotive 41308 visited on 13 November 1960 and was tested with gradually increasing train loads up to six coaches, which it achieved successfully. Having enough power to obviate double-heading of the heaviest trains on the branch, engines of this class took over the work from 1960-1961.

There are four white longitudinal lines, partially edged with dark fuscous, in the disc beyond this. An angulated pale golden-metallic dark-edged transverse line is found from the costa to the tornus, more whitish costally and there is also a pale leaden oblique streak from the costa beyond this to the apex, margined with light reddish brown, becoming dark fuscous on the costa.

The early Pacific arc is a curved line of volcanism and intrusions where the Palaeo-Pacific Ocean subducted beneath Borneo, Vietnam and South China. The resulting long period of magmatism is evident from intrusions and extrusions reaching as far north as South China, through Hong Kong, the South China Sea continental shelf, Vietnam and to Kalimantan in southwest Borneo. This period of magmatism continued until 79Ma, when the margin moved east. The ages of magmatism in these locations are 186 Ma to 76 Ma for the Schwaner Mountains granites of Kalimantan; at 180 Ma to 79 Ma in South China; at 165 Ma to 140 Ma in Hong Kong and at 112 Ma to 88 Ma in Dalat in Vietnam.

During Galileo's encounters with Io between October 1999 and October 2001, the spacecraft observed Pele on three occasions using its camera and infrared spectrometers while the volcano was on Io's night-side. The cameras revealed a curved line of bright spots along the margin of the Pele patera (a term used for volcanic depressions on Io, akin to calderas). Within the east-west dark band along the southeastern portion of the patera, a large amount of thermal emission was observed, with temperatures and distribution consistent with a large, basaltic lava lake. Thermal emission at Pele was also seen in December 2000 by the Cassini spacecraft, in December 2001 from the Keck Telescope in Hawaii, and by the New Horizons spacecraft in February 2007.

The wings are orange-yellow, the forewings with paired dorsal black spots on the second segment and dorsal bands on the segments beyond it, as well as some sublateral points. The forewings also have a black spot at the base of the costa and some diffused black on the inner margin near the base, as well as an antemedial spot below the costa and a curved line from the median nervure to the inner margin and a black spot in the middle of the cell and the discoidal bar. In all molluscs, the mantle forms a thin membrane that covers the animal's body and extends out from it in flaps or lobes. In bivalves, the mantle lobes secrete the valves, and the mantle crest secretes the whole hinge mechanism consisting of ligament, byssus threads (where present), and teeth. Visible on the inside of most empty bivalve valves is a shiny curved line that runs more or less parallel to the outer margin of the shell and often connects the two adductor muscle scars (if the animal had two adductor muscles).

The Blackpool branch left by a more gently curved line from the new Poulton station; the approach to the old Poulton station from the Preston direction was retained for goods purposes, as the town had grown towards that station over the years. A west curve on the new line was opened on 1 July 1899, and a platform called Poulton Curve Halt was opened on it on 1 February 1909, used by a railmotor service between Blackpool and Fleetwood. There were 19 trains each way daily. It is smooth, convex in front, deeply concave behind; bounded above by the crest, below by the upper border of the acetabulum, in front and behind by the anterior and posterior borders. The approximate dates Sharpe gave for his periods were, following 1066, the Norman Period up to 1145, the Transitional Period to 1190, the Lancet Period to 1245, the Geometrical Period to 1315, the Curvilinear Period to 1360, and the Rectilinear Period to 1550.. In comparing the two classifications, Sharpe divides Rickman's Norman period into two, the Norman and the Transitional periods. Then Rickman has three Gothic periods in contrast to Sharpe's four. Comparing the descriptions of the styles and, approximately, the dates, Sharpe's Lancet Period corresponds generally with Rickman's Early English; and Sharpe's Rectilinear Period with Rickman's Perpendicular English.

As indicated above, there is arbitrariness in the choice of parameters of a given model, geometric object, etc. Often, one wishes to determine intrinsic properties of an object that do not depend on this arbitrariness, which are therefore independent of any particular choice of parameters. This is particularly the case in physics, wherein parametrization invariance (or 'reparametrization invariance') is a guiding principle in the search for physically acceptable theories (particularly in general relativity). On 31 May 1895 Queen Victoria authorised Dominion and Colonial governments to adopt various military medals, including the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, and to award them to their local military forces. Territories that took advantage of the authorisation include Canada, Cape of Good Hope, India, Natal, New South Wales, New Zealand, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and, from 1901, the Commonwealth of Australia. Commonwealth of Australia version These territorial medals were identical to the Victoria and Edward VII versions of the medal, but with the name of each respective territory inscribed in a curved line above the usual inscription on the reverse of their respective medals. In addition, instead of a plain crimson ribbon, the ribbon of each territorial medal has a 4 millimetres wide band added in the centre, in a colour to represent the specific territory.

The first clear, though unheralded, expression of Modernism in Romania, was the construction in 1926 of a small apartment building near his earlier houses, also built for his father Herman, with an apartment for Herman, one for Marcel as well as his rooftop studio. The structure simply follows the curved line of the corner lot, the severe elevations devoid of decoration, enlivened only by a triangular bay window and balcony above, and a scheme of different colours (now lost) applied to the three wall areas differentiated by slight variations on depth. A major breakthrough was his Villa for Jean Fuchs, built in 1927 on Negustori Street. Its cosmopolitan owner allowed the artist complete freedom in designing the building, and a budget of 1 million lei, and he created what is often described as the first Constructivist (and therefore Modernist) structure in Bucharest.

With respect to the southern boundary of New Hampshire, the two provinces disagreed on the meaning of "three miles northward of the Merrimack River, or any part thereof". New Hampshire drew a line from three miles north of the mouth of the river, while Massachusetts claimed a line three miles north of the northernmost part of the river, taking its territory far north past what is now Concord, New Hampshire. New Hampshire appealed to King George II, who in 1740 decreed the boundary to run along a curved line three miles from the river between the ocean and a point three miles north of Pawtucket Falls (Lowell), where the river begins to turn north. From there a line was to be drawn due west to meet the western boundary of Massachusetts (fixed in 1773 with the Province of New York).

The wingspan is 23–24 mm. The forewings are whitish-ochreous with an oblong dark fuscous blotch occupying the dorsal half of the wing from the base to near the middle, becoming black on the upper edge and there margined by a suffused brown streak. The second discal stigma is small or minute, blackish, with faint blotches of pale fulvous suffusion before and beyond this. There are small fuscous marks on the costa at one-fourth, the middle, and three-fourths, from the first runs an angulated line to the angle of the dorsal blotch indicated by two marks only, from the second runs an irregular curved line faintly expressed through the posterior discal fulvous cloud to the dorsum before the tornus, and from the third runs a curved irregular fuscous line or series of cloudy dots to the tornus.

The wingspan is about 18 mm. The forewings are shining, silvery white, with a broad dark mouse-grey patch along the dorsum, somewhat dilated from the base below the fold, crossing the middle of the fold and abruptly ending with a convex margin two-thirds of the distance between the cell and the termen, where it extends fully as high as the upper edge of the cell. A slender line continues the curve of its outer margin to the costa. This patch is twice interrupted by the white ground colour, first at about one-third, secondly beyond the middle, after each interruption a curved line of the dark mouse-grey scales is produced backward from the inner edge of the patch beyond, the first of these lines sometimes forming a semi-detached streak, nearly reaching to the base of the wing.

The spiling batten can then be lifted out and placed on the new stock, and moved around to find the optimum use of the stock material, then using the same compass or dummy stick, the exact shape required can be traced off the spiling batten onto the new stock, ready to be cut out. When spiling a complex shape curved in more than one direction, it is important to keep the dummy stick in the same orientation, and not allow it to follow the curve, otherwise a distortion of the shape will result. The shapes of boats' planks are complex as the plank gets wider to cover the broader midships and then narrower as the planks converge towards the bow and the stern. A curved line on a flat surface will be a straight line on a curved surface.

The forewings are ochreous orange in males and pale ochreous yellowish streaked with orange in females. The hindwings are dark fuscous, in males with an ochreous-yellow streak from the base along a subdorsal groove enclosing a pencil of long ochreous-whitish hairs, posteriorly dilated into a broad patch extending all along the termen but not quite reaching it, in which is a curved line of appressed hairs.

The wingspan is about 26 mm. The forewings are rather shining, white, with a smoky greyish fuscous suffusion along the dorsal half, dilated upward to the apex and mottled throughout with a darker shade of the same colour. This darker mottling is reproduced on the whiter costal half in a costal spot at one- third, almost connected obliquely by a paler shade to the upper edge of the cell, in a paler, outwardly oblique, shade from the middle of the costa to the upper angle of the cell, and in another costal spot a little beyond it, on the outer side of which some white scaling is continued in an outwardly curved line through the fuscous suffusion to the tornus. There is no clear definition of the suffused portion of the wing, the white ground colour blending with it and to some extent contributing to its mottled appearance.

The forewings are pale yellow with two black points on the base of the costal area followed by a curved line, then a series of black points. There is an oblique slightly waved antemedial line, followed by a brown annulus from the costa to the median nervure and another below the cell. There is a brown bar from the costa to the lower angle of the cell and a waved postmedial line bent outwards between veins 6 and 2, then retracted to below the angle of the cell and oblique to the inner margin and with a waved line across its sinus between veins 6 and 2, and an oblique bar from it at vein 2 to the tornus. There is also a waved subterminal line from the costa to vein 5 connected with the termen by a brown patch between veins 6 and 5.

Serpentine lines from Hogarth's The Analysis of Beauty Line of beauty is a term and a theory in art or aesthetics used to describe an S-shaped curved line (a serpentine line) appearing within an object, as the boundary line of an object, or as a virtual boundary line formed by the composition of several objects. This theory originated with William Hogarth (18th-century English painter, satirist, and writer), and is an essential part of Hogarth's theory of aesthetics as described in his 1753 book Analysis of Beauty. According to this theory, S-shaped curved lines signify liveliness and activity and excite the attention of the viewer as contrasted with straight lines, parallel lines, or right-angled intersecting lines, which signify stasis, death, or inanimate objects. In contrast to grand compositional lines, which are regularly found in Baroque or Rococo art, the serpentine line is not primarily dictating the whole composition of a canvas.

A press conference held on 11 December 2006Communiqué about the press conference gave more details of the work of excavation, which lasted from 2002 to 22 September 2006, and which had been initiated after pilgrims to the basilica expressed disappointment that the Apostle's tomb could not be visited or touched during the Jubilee year of 2000. The sarcophagus was not extracted from its position, so that only one of its two longer sides is visible. The disposition of bones in the quarry is approximately as expected if the animal were lying on its left side in an opisthotonic pose, but nearly all bones show some disorientation and disarticulation: the cervical vertebrae are arranged along a curved line, and extending along this tight curve (approximately) sit two of the dorsal vertebrae followed by the sacrum and caudal vertebrae. The sacrum and first three caudal vertebrae were found in articulation and in line with the remaining articulated caudal vertebrae; others are present after a gap of about . Twenty-seven caudal vertebrae are shown on the quarry map, but 30 were found in the collection, and pre- restoration photos indicate that 32 were originally present.

Jazz music incorporates a wide variety of ornaments including many of the classical ones mentioned above as well as a number of their own. Most of these ornaments are added either by performers during their solo extemporizations or as written ornaments. While these ornaments have universal names, their realizations and effects vary depending on the instrument. Jazz music incorporates most of the standard "classical" ornaments, such as trills, grace notes, mordents, glissandi and turns but adds a variety of additional ornaments such as "dead" or ghost notes (a percussive sound, notated by an "X"), "doit" notes and "fall" notes (annotated by curved lines above the note, indicating by direction of curve that the note should either rapidly rise or fall on the scale), squeezes (notated by a curved line from an "X" to a specific pitch, that denotes an un-pitched glissando), and shakes (notated by a squiggly line over a note, which indicates a fast lip trill for brass players and a minor third trill for winds).

The best description of what Globe and Phoenix means can be gotten from the Flag and seal of Virginia, as described in the Code of Virginia (1950) On the flip side of the seal are the three goddesses Libertas at the centre, Ceres, on her left and Aeternitas on the right. The motto here in a curved line, has the word "Perseverando." which means "Persevering, a reminder of the need to persist in maintaining the blessings of liberty". Reverse Side: Aeternitas, with a globe and phoenix in her right hand On the Globe and Phoenix Mine emblem, 2 phoenixes are featured, and of course Globe and Phoenix Mine lived and continues to live, now as Kwekwe city. However the name Globe and Phoenix Mine was a merger of the two reefs bought by Lionel Phillips, Globe reef from Joseph Schukala and Phoenix reef from Edward Thornton Pearson. It is thought as friends Schukala and Pearson had deliberately named their claims with reference to the goddess Aeternitas’ Globe and Phoenix as described in the Code of Virginia (1950).

The construction and design of the dam was related by the East Roman historian Procopius around 560 AD in his treatise on the architectural achievements of the Justinian I era (De Aedificiis II.3). His report is notable for its clear understanding of arch action and the distribution of water pressure in arch dams; it provides the earliest description of such types of dam as opposed to the gravity dam, the standard design throughout antiquity and beyond.; ; ; ; ; Procopius makes two essential points clear: first, the dam had a curved plan in order to withstand the water pressure, and did not follow a more or less curved line just because this was where the most solid bedrock was found, and secondly, the thrust of the water was not contained by the sheer weight of the structure (as in gravity dams), but transferred by the abutments to the wing walls of the gorge through the curvature of the lying arch. Procopius writes: > At a place about forty feet removed from the outer fortifications of the > city, between the two cliffs between which the river runs, he constructed a > barrier of proper thickness and height.
