Because of the soft ground on which the town was constructed, the streets were covered with sheets of wood and sawdust to prevent citizens' sinking into the mud. The buildings were constructed of wood that could not be sold by the lumber company.

By the end of the year, US 27 was designated on SR 1. In the third quarter of 1939, a portion in the northern part of the city had a completed hard surface. About 50 years later, in 1989, SR 811 was proposed from US 27/SR 1 south- southeast of Buchanan north-northwest across US 27/SR 1, and curved around the east side of the city to a point north-northwest of it. In 1992, US 27/SR 1 was rerouted onto the proposed path of SR 811 and was shifted east of the city.

These consist of a number of uncovered stands, curved around the northern perimeter of the Main Arena, between the northeast end of the John MacDonald Stand and the Marshalling Yards at the northeast end of the arena. They are of concrete construction (concrete seating tiers supported on concrete piers), with brick or concrete in-fill to the sides. The seating consists of curved, slatted timber benches and is accessed via subways beneath the stands. The sub-floor beneath the northernmost stand provides kiosk space, with metal roller doors between the concrete piers opening to Ring Road.

The stigmata are blackish, the plical obliquely beyond the first discal. There is a blackish dot towards the costa before the middle, from beyond this a series connected by fuscous shading strongly curved around the second discal stigma, indented on the fold, to the dorsum at two-thirds. A curved series of cloudy blackish dots is connected by slight fuscous suffusion from the costa at four-fifths to the dorsum before the tornus, indented beneath the costa, the apical area beyond this suffused fuscous. There is also a marginal series of black dots around the apex and termen.

The wingspan is about 26 mm. The forewings are white with two or three light grey dots near the base and a curved light grey line from one-fifth of the costa to one-third of the dorsum. The first discal stigma is blackish, resting on the apex of a subtriangular light grey blotch on the middle of the dorsum. There is a transverse blackish mark on the end of the cell and an oblique grey line from costa before the middle, irregularly curved around behind this to a small dark grey spot on the dorsum at three-fourths.

After leaving Apple, Wayne resisted Jobs's attempts to get him to return, remaining at Atari until 1978, when he joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and later an electronics company in Salinas, California. In the late 1970s, Wayne had run a stamp shop in Milpitas, California, for a short time; it was called Wayne's Philatelics. After a number of break-ins, he moved his stamp operations to Nevada. The logo for the business was a wood-cut design, with a man sitting under an apple tree, with the "Wayne's Philatelics" name written in a flowing ribbon curved around the tree.

The Third Army (General Edmund Allenby), was to mount a diversion north of the Fourth Army area, with VII Corps. At the Gommecourt Salient, the German trenches curved around a château and its parkland and a gap of separated the Gommecourt diversion from the northern edge of the main attack. Preparations for a pincer movement to catch the garrison in a pocket, were made as obvious as possible to attract German attention. The 56th (1/1st London) Division had prepared jumping-off trenches in no man's land and when the attack commenced at swift progress was made.

At the time, I-87 curved around the western outskirts of the village to end at NY 9N north of the village on a highway built . In mid-1966, the state opened a $23 million section (equivalent to $ in ) of the Northway between Lake George and exit 26 at Pottersville. I-87 was reconfigured slightly near Lake George as a result: instead of heading east to NY 9N, it continued north on a parallel routing to US 9. The Northway's former routing to NY 9N, known infrequently today as the Lake George Connector, is now NY 912Q, an unsigned reference route in length.

The U.S. Highway headed straight west for a block, then curved around the south side of the South Lawn (White House) to E Street, then followed E Street west to 17th Street. US 240 followed 17th Street north to Farragut Square, where the highway intersected K Street, which carried US 50. US 240 continued north along Connecticut Avenue to Dupont Circle, which did not yet have an underpass for Connecticut Avenue. At the circle, the U.S. Highway met US 29, which used New Hampshire Avenue on both sides of the circle, and US 240 Alternate, which headed north on Connecticut Avenue.

The bus seated 10 on the lower deck and 33 on the top deck. One of its most striking design improvements was that the passengers in the rear compartment "... are seated in a raised dome with a wide windshield curved around the entire forward section to give an unobstructed view of the road ahead." The six upper-level skylights provided illumination from the windshield to the rear, which had windows in the roof at the sides in a U-shaped configuration around the top back of the bus. A leather seated lounge provided a table for playing cards.

In 1888 the site was transferred to the Department of Lunacy. The former school then became a branch of the Parramatta Hospital for the Insane. The formal geometric layout of the working gardens was retained when the site became a psychiatric hospital in 1888. In contrast, the ornamental gardens were re-laid to reflect the more informal designs currently in vogue. This hospital took over the Orphan School complex, growing to the north-east and north in an unusual "village" arrangement of buildings, curved around a green, and what is called the "1900 Ward Range precinct".

The East Leg, six lanes wide, would have curved around the far eastern edge of the downtown area, passing beneath Mt. Olivet Road in a 1/2 mile tunnel, before terminating at I-66 and I-95 north of Union Station, providing access to the North Leg Freeway, the North Central Freeway, and the New York Avenue Industrial Freeway.

The main road bent south along the east bank of the river to Pugong-ni and then turned northeast to Changnyong. A northern secondary road curved around marshland and lakes, the largest of which was Lake U-p'o, to Changnyong. In effect, the 1st Battalion of the 23rd Regiment guarded these two approach routes to Changnyong. The 42 men of the 2nd Platoon, B Company, 23rd Infantry held outpost positions on seven hills covering a front along the east bank of the Naktong north of Pugong-ni. Across the river in the rice paddies they could see, in the afternoon of August 31, two large groups of KPA soldiers.

Choreutis plectodes is a species of moth of the family Choreutidae. It is found in South Africa. The wingspan is about 11 mm. The forewings are fuscous suffusedly mixed with darker fuscous, and irregularly speckled with whitish and with an irregular straight transverse whitish line at a transverse whitish mark in the disc at two-thirds, as well as a whitish line from the costa beyond the middle, running obliquely outwards and curved around the discal mark, where it is interrupted and replaced with whitish speckling, then irregularly dentate to the dorsum beyond the middle but again interrupted with whitish speckling on the fold.

The I Anzac Corps held with two divisions a line of about , which curved around the ruins of Gueudecourt. On 10 January the Fourth Army commander General Rawlinson asked for proposals for local attacks. A length of Stormy Trench was selected for an attack and when the temperature dropped in mid-January, freezing the mud, trench mortars could be dug in, ready to provide covering-fire. It was decided to attack at on 1 February after a two-minute mortar barrage. The attack was to be conducted by companies of the 15th Battalion of the 4th Australian Brigade, 4th Australian Division during the evening of 1 February.

It is bordered by Moseley to the south east and by Smethwick and Winson Green to the north west. In the 19th century, the area was under the control of the Gough-Calthorpe family and the Gillott family who refused to allow factories or warehouses to be built in Edgbaston, thus making it attractive for the wealthier residents of the city. It then came to be known as "where the trees begin".

Formation No. 1 took off in groups of three at 10-minute intervals beginning at 21:39. The reserve formation did not begin taking off until 00:09 on 17 May. Formation No. 1 entered continental Europe between Walcheren and Schouwen, flew over the Netherlands, skirted the airbases at Gilze-Rijen and Eindhoven, curved around the Ruhr defences, and turned north to avoid Hamm before turning south to head for the Möhne River. Formation No. 2 flew further north, cutting over Vlieland and crossing the IJsselmeer before joining the first route near Wesel and then flying south beyond the Möhne to the Sorpe River.

The wingspan is 27–31 mm. The forewings are olive brown, paler and with whitish reflections except along the costa and termen and on a triangular patch in the disc about one-third. In males, there is a broad streak of whitish suffusion beneath the costa, interrupted in the middle, curved around before the apex parallel to the termen and running to the dorsum before the tornus, from the extremity of the anterior portion an irregular line runs to the second discal stigma, these markings are hardly indicated in females. The plical stigma is dark fuscous, the second discal forming a transverse fuscous mark, partially edged whitish.

I-69/US 27 in Michigan began at the Indiana state line southeast of Kinderhook, just north of an interchange with the Indiana Toll Road (I-80/I-90). From there, I-69/US 27 ran northward through a mixture of Southern Michigan farmland and woodland in Branch County. A few miles north of the state line, the freeway passes Coldwater Lake State Park and its namesake body of water; north of the lake, there is a welcome center for the northbound lanes. I-69/US 27 curved around the east side of Coldwater, connecting to the city's business loop on the south of town.

The architects have used an unusual method of "hiding" the beam by curving the ceiling down from the rear stalls wall to the soffit of the beam, then curving up again to the edge of the circle. The plan shape of the dress circle is typical of the work of the architects, Kaberry and Chard. In the early 1920s, their circle balustrade designs (with their straight central portions curved around each side to side boxes) were in plaster with swags of classical ornament and cartouches. On August 1, a weak trough was identified north of the Greater Antilles. It developed into a tropical depression by 18:00 UTC on August 2 while positioned just southwest of Long Island, Bahamas; further intensification into a tropical storm occurred over Current Island 24 hours later. The system curved around the western periphery of an area of high pressure, attaining peak winds of 65 mph (100 km/h) based on data from ships that intersected the cyclone. Unlike the previous cyclone, this tropical storm never transitioned into an extratropical cyclone, instead weakening to a tropical depression around 00:00 UTC on August 9 and dissipating east of Nova Scotia twelve hours later.

In the middle of the year the Riviera, joined the body style lineup selling 4,314 units. Featuring power windows as standard equipment, the 2-door Buick Roadmaster Riviera, along with the Cadillac Series 62 Coupe de Ville and the Oldsmobile 98 Holiday, was among the first hardtop coupes ever produced. The Riviera was also notable for its popular optional "Sweepspear" chrome body side molding, which would soon become a Buick trademark. This chrome-plated strip started above the front wheel, after which it gently curved down nearly to the rocker panel just before the rear wheel, and then curved around the rear wheel in a quarter of a circle to go straight back to the tail-light.

A few drafts later, McFarland submitted her final design. It featured a wheat motif that curved around the bottom of the glove, from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the little finger.

The wingspan is about 17 mm. The forewings are shining white with the markings fuscous. There is a small cloudy spot beneath the costa at one-fifth, and one on the dorsum at one-fourth. There is a strong dash in the disc before the middle and a triangular blotch on the dorsum beyond the middle, reaching nearly half across the wing, as well as a slightly curved longitudinal line from the disc above the middle to meet a very oblique line from beneath the costal edge at three-fifths, which is curved around beneath to the posterior angle of a subquadrate spot on the tornus, its anterior angle emitting a linear projection.

The stigmata are moderate and dark fuscous, the plical obliquely beyond the first discal, these connected by slight suffusion with an oblique triangular suffused fuscous spot from the dorsum beyond the middle, the second discal traversed by a somewhat sinuate dark fuscous line from the middle of the costa terminating in a similar smaller spot towards the tornus. There is an oblique dark fuscous line from the costa at three-fourths curved around at the extremity to the tornus. Six cloudy dark fuscous dots are found around the apex and termen, largest at the apex. The hindwings are pale grey, with a large pale greyish-ochreous expansible subcostal hairpencil from the base.

As well as the larger buildings on the All Hallows' Convent and School site many smaller buildings are of cultural heritage significance. These include the Ann Street and Kemp Place retaining wall and incorporated gateway and lodge; a chaplain's residence, St Brigid's classroom block, the art studio and several areas of open space including the Terrace, gardens around the convent, playing fields and other open areas. The porphyry retaining wall extends from the gateway, adjacent to St Ann's, on Ann Street, north east and is curved around the corner and finishes in Kemp Place. The wall, made from randomly coursed rock faced porphyry rubble, varies in height from on the Kemp Place elevation to on Ann Street.

A path on a surface the chariot travels along is a geodesic if and only if the pointer does not rotate with respect to the base of the chariot. Because of the curvature of the Earth's surface (due to it being curved around as a globe), the chariot would generally not continue to point due south as it moves. For example, if the chariot moves along a geodesic (as approximated by any great circle) the pointer should instead stay at a fixed angle to the path. A residential street in Provincetown Provincetown is the eastern terminus of U.S. Route 6, both in the state and in the nation. Although the terminus is directed east officially, geographically speaking, the road, having curved around Cape Cod, is facing west-southwest at the point, and is marked only by its junction with Route 6A. The state-controlled portion ends with a "" sign as the road enters the Cape Cod National Seashore, after which the road is under federal maintenance. Route 6A passes through the town as well, mostly following Bradford Street (whereas US 6 originally followed Commercial Street before the bypass was built and Commercial Street was switched to one-way westbound), and ending just south of the Herring Cove Beach.

The inauguration of the Aqueduct was recorded in the Fasti Ostienses on 24 June 109 AD, which stated that the water was tota urbe salientem - a pan-urban network of streetside outlets and basins reaching every part of Rome. How this distribution was achieved is mostly subject to speculation, but the author Rabun Taylor, in his book Public Needs and Private Pleasures suggests that the Aqueduct crossed the River Tiber on a high bridge in the area of the modern Ponte Sublicio, and curved around the Aventine before heading north to the Oppio. The date of inauguration was also significant, being only a few months before the Naumachia Traiani on the Vatican Plain and exactly two days after the Thermae Traiani on the Oppio.

The route the B&O; chose started from the existing end of track at Camden Street Station, at the west end of "The Basin" (modern Inner Harbor) of the Northwest Branch of the Patapsco River. A tunnel was constructed directly under Howard Street, heading north/south until just before it crossed the existing PRR line. At the north portal of the tunnel, Mount Royal Station was constructed between 1891-1896. The track then curved around the northwest corner of the center city going east, passed through six other (much shorter) tunnels, continuing across the northern outskirts of downtown, curving around the Northeast corner of the old City, finally heading southeast to meet the already constructed line just north of the Canton neighborhood and connecting with the East Coast route.

The forewings are white, the dorsal two-fifths suffused with pale fuscous and the costal edge dark grey at the base. The plical and second discal stigmata are dark fuscous and there are two oblique transverse series of little-defined dots or groups of fuscous scales, the first from one-fourth of the costa traversing the plical stigma to the apex of an irregular- trapezoidal dark fuscous blotch in the middle of the dorsum, the second very oblique and strongly curved around in the disc to the apex of a triangular similar blotch on tornus. There is a curved series of rather more defined fuscous dots from three-fourths of the costa to the tornal blotch and a terminal scries of black dots. The hindwings are whitish grey.

The south front rooms curved around the boundary of the Bethel Steps. The activities of the Institute continued to expand and Dame Margaret Davidson, wife of the new Governor, launched an appeal for the further enlargement of 1927-28 called the Dame Margaret Davidson Wing designed by the architects Kent and Massie. In 1931 the Bethel Union Trustees approved an extension of the lease to the end of 1960, and a new dwelling for the Mission Chaplain was built. The processor is Samsung's first to use a 14 nm FinFET manufacturing process, which the company stated would improve its energy efficiency. It is available with 32, 64, or 128 GB of non-expandable storage, implementing Universal Flash Storage 2.0 standards. The S6 and S6 Edge features a 5.1-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display; similarly to the Galaxy Note Edge while the S6 Edge+ features a 5.7-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display, the S6 Edge and S6 Edge+'s display is slightly curved around the two lengthwise edges of the device, although not as aggressively as the Note Edge.

The road maintained its elevation until after the intersection with Bains Road where it descended gradually to a winter creek crossing about one third of the way along to Wheatsheaf Road. This creek crossing was a renowned patch for getting vehicles bogged as the clay soil became very sticky when wet and required careful negotiation. The crossing was characterised by quite tall clumps of wild fennel bushes and the road narrowed down to a single track as it curved around the clumps at the lowest point. From there the road widened again and ascended to another high point before falling away to a cement culvert creek crossing for the winter creek that runs alongside the northern boundary of what is now the Thaxted Park Golf Club (then a dairy farm named “Thaxted Park“ by the owners in the 1950s and early 1960s following a belief that a previous owner had called the property ”Thaxted”, possibly after the town of the same name in Essex, England).

An extra storey was added with four columns to support the beam structure of the upper floor which consisted of a central chapel with compartments on either side. Kent added rooms to the George Street facade which were in the Federation Free Classical style, converting the facade into a three-storey ensemble. The south front rooms curved around the boundary of the Bethel Steps. In 1927 a new chapel was built in the Inter-War Mediterranean or Romanesque style at ground level and a new balcony was erected on a base of retaining walls and piers of cement rendered load bearing brickwork facing Circular Quay West. In 1931 a stone cottage erected 30 years before on the north-east corner of the site was demolished and a new dwelling for the Mission Chaplain was built, designed by N. W. McPherson, which became part of the Davidson Wing, and was not completed until after World War II. The Circular Quay facade had become asymmetrical and idiosyncratic, and concealed almost all of the original Bibb building.

Reports had been received from locals that the Japanese had brought reinforcements down from Soraken, Taiof Island and Tarlena, and at this point the Australians realised that the Japanese were concentrated in far greater numbers than anticipated and had in fact established their line of resistance in the sector upon the ridge. This was confirmed later after the Australians moved forward once more on 21 January, moving to within of the Genga River, where the track upon which they were advancing opened into a large garden that curved around the edge of Tsimba Ridge, from where the Japanese defenders had an excellent line of sight. Subsequent patrols determined the extent of the Japanese position, reporting that they had constructed a well-fortified position with a continuous trench along the crest of ridge, weapons pits and pill boxes, all with clear fields of fire, stretching up to .
