Fausto Fawcett e os Robôs Efêmeros (Portuguese for "Fausto Fawcett and the Ephemeral Robots") is the debut album by the Brazilian musician Fausto Fawcett, accompanied by his backing band Os Robôs Efêmeros, which comprised his long-time friend and collaborator Carlos Laufer (electric guitar), Pedro Leão (electric guitar), and brothers Marcelo (drums) and Marcos Lobato (bass guitar), future members of O Rappa. Also counting with a guest appearance by Fernanda Abreu, it was released in 1987 by WEA (present-day Warner Music Group) and produced by Liminha alongside Vítor Farias and Adrian Hudson. Described as a "cyberpunk concept album that strolls through a Blade Runner- esque Copacabana",Last.fm – Fausto Fawcett its eight subtly interlinked tracks chronicle the lives of the seedy characters that inhabit a futuristic and technologically advanced version of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The first FIBA Americas workshop for the initiative was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on August 13, 2012, counting with the participation of federations from Brasil, Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and the host. In 2000 a remixed version of Samba pra Burro was released, also through Trama, entitled Changez Tout. Otto's subsequent album, Condom Black, released in 2001, saw him advancing into a "more organic" sonority, in his words, but without abandoning the electronica influences. As with his previous album, Condom Black was also produced by Apollo 9.

In the mid 1990s, Sabina was in his personal and professional maturity and found himself in the challenge of producing an album that could be at the same level or better than Física y química. For that, as always, the performer not only teamed up with his fellow collaborators, Pancho Varona and Antonio García de Diego, who would arrange the most of the songs, but also, started counting with the help of a new collaborator, Olga Román, a jazz singer who had previous experience in composing and performing jazz songs live and who would turn into Sabina's back vocal since then, till 2009, when she restarted her solo music career. As in the rest of his albums, Joaquín Sabina found the inspiration for the tracks in his personal experiences, such as his paternity, his recent divorce form his former wife Isabel Oliart, his life in Madrid and also his frequent trips to Latin America.

Muisca numerals were the numeric notation system used by the Muisca, one of the four advanced civilizations of the Americas before the Spanish conquest of the Muisca. Just like the Mayas, the Muisca had a vigesimal numerical system, based on multiples of twenty (Chibcha: gueta). The Muisca numerals were based on counting with fingers and toes. They had specific numbers from one to ten, yet for the numbers between eleven and nineteen they used "foot one" (11) to "foot nine" (19). The number 20 was the 'perfect' number for the Muisca which is visible in their calendar. To calculate higher numbers than 20 they used multiples of their 'perfect' number; gue-muyhica would be "20 times 4", so 80. To describe "50" they used "20 times 2 plus 10"; gue-bosa asaqui ubchihica, transcribed from guêboʒhas aſaqɣ hubchìhicâ. 1619 - Muisca numbers according to Bernardo de Lugo - accessed 29-04-2016 In their calendar, which was lunisolar, they only counted from one to ten and twenty.

"Zoio de Lula" (Portuguese for "Squid Eyes"), also stylized as "Zoio D Lula", is a single by Brazilian alternative rock band Charlie Brown Jr.. Written by vocalist Chorão (who also drew the cover) alongside his bandmates Champignon and Renato Pelado, it was released on April 1, 1999 as the first single of their second studio album, Preço Curto... Prazo Longo, even though it previously appeared on the teaser EP Aquele Luxo!. It was the first song by the band to reach first place in Brazilian radios at the time, and a music video counting with a guest appearance by model and actress Luize Altenhofen was made; filmed at the beach of Maresias, it won the MTV Video Music Award for International Viewer's Choice in 1999. The video's director, Johnny Araújo, would become a frequent collaborator of the band, and also direct the 2007 film ', written and co-produced by Chorão. Bands , Fake Number, Gloria and Replace performed a medley of "Zoio D Lula" with Raimundos' "Mulher de Fases" at the 2010 MTV Video Music Brazil ceremony, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of MTV Brasil.

Acústico MTV: Charlie Brown Jr. (Portuguese for "MTV Unplugged: Charlie Brown Jr.") is a live album by Brazilian alternative rock band Charlie Brown Jr., released both in CD and DVD formats on September 20, 2003 through EMI as part of now-defunct MTV Brasil's Acústico MTV series – the Brazilian equivalent of MTV Unplugged. It was recorded at the Teatro Mars in São Paulo from August 5–6, 2003, in a lavish set decorated as the nave of a Gothic church. The album contains acoustic-inflected re-interpretations of some of Charlie Brown Jr.'s greatest hits, alongside previously unreleased tracks such as "Vícios e Virtudes" and "Não Uso Sapato", and covers of bands and artists such as Nação Zumbi ("Samba Makossa"), Camisa de Vênus ("Hoje") and Jorge Ben Jor ("Oba, Lá Vem Ela"). Counting with guest appearances by Negra Li, Marcelo D2 of Planet Hemp fame, Camisa de Vênus frontman Marcelo Nova and hip hop group RZO, it was one of the band's most critically acclaimed and best-selling releases; the CD version was placed ninth in the list of most best-selling albums of 2003, and the DVD version in third.

At the same time, Catalan politician Miquel Roca Junyent tried to enter national politics by founding the Democratic Reformist Party (PRD), supported by CiU, the Liberal Democratic Party (PDL) of Antonio Garrigues Walker, the Galician Coalition (CG), the Riojan Party (PR) and the Majorcan Union (UM), with the aim of "capturing the 5 million votes of the political centre". The party's founding congress took place in November 1984, and its foundation was considered a major political operation, counting with the support of different economic sectors and including some notable figures (Florentino Pérez, later to become President of the Real Madrid C.F., was named as PRD's Secretary–General), in response to the UCD collapse and the PSOE's arrival to government. The process of formation and preparation of the party to contest the next general election was to be popularly known as Operation Roca, in reference to its main promoter. Meanwhile, Adolfo Suárez' CDS experienced a period of economic expansion and membership growth, and also announced its intention to enter the political arena to contest the hotly contested battle for the political centre that was now considered to exist between the PSOE to the left and AP to the right.
