The road continues on northeastward for a bit then curves slightly more northeast. After a shorter time, Loop 456 curves left a little more as it intersects SH 204. This sideways T-shaped intersection is the east terminus of Loop 456, with eastbound SH 204 going off to the right; westbound traffic for SH 204 continues ahead.

The bypass ends at a traffic light with the Susquehanna Trail (old U.S. Route 111) and North Street. North Street continues ahead to an interchange with I-83 at exit 10. LA 407 turns north from this junction onto Woodland Drive and narrows to an undivided four-lane highway. The route continues in this capacity through the residential Old Aurora neighborhood until reaching an intersection with LA 428 (General Meyer Avenue).

Hinkletown, Lancaster County. As the freeway ends (road continues ahead as US 422), US 322 exits and heads east on the at-grade West Governor Road as it passes south of Hershey. East of the Hershey area, the route runs eastward via the scenic Horseshoe Pike traversing Lebanon County. The Horseshoe Pike portion ends west of Cornwall, where US 322 bypasses the town (during an overlap with PA 72).

In Derrick City, the highways pass along a stretch of residential houses before PA 646 turns off to the north on Olean Road. PA 346 continues ahead along Derrick Road towards Bradford. After turning on Olean Road, PA 646 turns to the northeast, running along the Pennbrook Run for the entire stretch of highway. Along the highway several residential homes surround, while the road enters the community of Bells Camp.

After turning right onto the road towards Freshwater, the path immediately restarts to the left by a bus stop and car park onto Compton Down. This track begins to immediately climb steeply passing a chalk pit on the right then bears right to avoid overhead electric cables. The trail continues ahead, steadily gaining height towards Afton Down. It then travels through the golf course on Afton Down with the track later descending to Freshwater Bay.

Past the Thruway, it once again continues ahead due north to where it crosses the Tonawanda Creek north of the hamlet of Indian Falls. The falls themselves are visible from the road. LA 111 proceeds north for before reaching another T-intersection with LA 392, which leads to the Toledo Bend Dam and South Toledo Bend State Park.

At the western limit of Mamou, LA 104 intersects LA 13 (Veterans Memorial Highway), which heads toward Alexandria on the north and Eunice on the south. LA 104 continues east onto South Street for several blocks then turns north onto 6th Street. LA 95 continues ahead on South Street before taking a southeasterly course through Chataignier on the way to US 190. Heading north along 6th Street, LA 104 passes through the business section of Mamou.

As it approaches the Winn Parish line, LA 122 curves to the southeast through the twin communities of Verda and New Verda. Here, the highway intersects LA 1240, which heads due south to a point on US 71 near Aloha. Shortly afterward, LA 122 begins a brief concurrency with LA 471, which heads north toward Winnfield, the seat of neighboring Winn Parish. Just beyond New Verda, LA 471 continues ahead to the south while LA 122 turns eastward onto an intersecting road.

Meanwhile, LA 87 continues ahead onto a gravel farm road for over , turning sharply to the west near the midway point. Immediately after entering the Franklin city limits, the paved roadway resumes at a junction with LA 322\. Shortly afterward, a junction with LA 3069 (East Willow Street) leads straight ahead across Bayou Teche into town, and LA 87 turns to the southeast, maintaining its path along the bayou's east bank. State maintenance ends later at the approach to the Centerville bridge.

While New Braddock Road continues straight, SR 620 itself is concurrent with SR 659 / Union Mill Road for one block. A new segment of Braddock Road (which shortly matches the old alignment of Braddock Road) starts here and heads west into Centreville. However, SR 620 quickly turns off onto a side-street, Spindle Court, and unceremoniously dead-ends behind Mountain View Alternative High School, creating another gap. The road that was SR 620 continues ahead as Old Braddock Road, SR 7759.

Old Braddock Road continues ahead to Old Centreville Road (SR 898). That road connects to the beginning of the third segment of Braddock Road, which is located at a four-way intersection with US 29. This third segment was originally connected with what is now Spindle Court, but when a shopping center was built, a dead end on Braddock Road was created, and was renamed Spindle Ct. This segment only lasts for 0.32 mile, before turning into Pickwick Road (SR 1021).

After acting as the main street through Milledgeville, the route passes over the US 35 freeway and comes to an intersection with SR 435, the former routing of US 35. SR 729 turns right onto SR 435 forming a concurrency, but about later, SR 435 ends, Old US 35 continues ahead as County Road 35, and SR 729 heads north towards Jeffersonville. The route goes through more flat farmland before crossing over I-71 without an interchange and entering the village limits of Jeffersonville.

The three routes then proceed concurrently across the Bogue Chitto River on the Chess Richardson Bridge, simultaneously entering the town of Franklinton. After briefly curving along Washington Street into the downtown area, the three routes split in different directions at a four-way intersection. While LA 10 continues ahead on Washington Street toward Bogalusa, LA 16 and LA 25 turn southeast and northwest, respectively, onto Main Street. After traveling seven block through a residential neighborhood, LA 25 turns west onto Bene Street at a junction with LA 430 opposite the Washington Parish Fair Grounds.

LA 64 proceeds as an undivided four-lane highway across the Amite River via the Magnolia Bridge, simultaneously crossing out of East Baton Rouge Parish and the city of Central and into unincorporated Livingston Parish.

CR 535 enters the outskirts of South Amboy though it comes up just short of the border between the two municipalities. later, it crosses underneath the Garden State Parkway and reaches its former northern terminus, an intersection with the other end of Sayreville's Main Street. CR 535 becomes Raritan Street continues another mile to enter South Amboy and ends an interchange with the concurrency of US 9 and Route 35 on approach to the Edison Bridge and the Victory Bridge, respectively. Raritan Street continues ahead through South Amboy as CR 686 Spur.

New Orleans' major east–west route, I-10 connects with the Central Business District to the southwest and the city of Slidell to the northeast. Having intersected its parent route, I-510 ends, and LA 47 continues ahead as a divided four-lane highway without control of access. The highway reaches the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain in an area known as Little Woods, located at the easternmost extent of urban development along the lake shore. Here, LA 47 turns southwest onto Hayne Boulevard, an undivided four-lane thoroughfare.

In Ratcliff, SH 7 turns to head east again at a junction with FM 227\.

In Rayne, LA 98 intersects LA 35 just north of that highway's interchange with I-10 (exit 87), connecting with Lafayette to the east and Lake Charles to the west. LA 98 turns south and overlaps LA 35 through the diamond interchange, where the roadway is briefly widened to a divided four-lane capacity. Once the highway leaves the commercial corridor situated near the exit, the median is discontinued as LA 35 and LA 98 proceed south along what is locally known as The Boulevard. After about six blocks, LA 98 turns east onto Jeff Davis Avenue and returns to two-lane capacity while LA 35 continues ahead toward the downtown area situated along US 90.
