This was also true further down the leagues for East Fife (1998) and Dumbarton (2000); however when East Stirlingshire vacated Firs Park in 2008, an intended tenancy of five years at nearby Stenhousemuir became ten years, during which time the club lost their league place, being relegated to the recently introduced Lowland Football League in 2016.

The corresponding record for the London Underground (Tube Challenge) has had many holders since 1960. London and New York have always been the most notable systems for this record. Between 1967 and 1992, records for a few other subway networks were considered, attempted and appeared in the Guinness Books. Since 1993, only the London Underground record has been published with decreasing regularity, and Guinness only considered London and New York for this record category. However, since 2011, other systems have been considered again. The first other network to be granted a record was the Paris Métro; Alan Paul Jenkins achieved a time of 11 hours and 13 minutes for travelling to 270 stations (with 7 closed) on August 30, 1967. The next record was set on 13 August 2011 by Adham Fisher, who visited 300 stations in 13 hours, 37 minutes and 54 seconds. The Berlin U-Bahn had its first record set on May 2, 2014, by Michael Wurm, Henning Colsman-Freyberger, Rudolf von Grot and Oliver Ziemek.

R v Owen, [2003] 1 S.C.R. 779. One of the Review Boards central and most complex task at hand relates to the prediction regarding the future risk of harm or dangerousness. This decision seems to acknowledge just some of the difficulties that may be inherent when balancing individual liberty up against the interests of public safety. These twin goals of protecting the public and treating mentally ill offenders fairly was considered again in R v Owen, “It is of central importance to the constitutional validity of this statutory arrangement that the individual, who by definition did not at the time of the offence appreciate what he or she was doing, or that it was wrong, be confined only for reasons of public protection, not punishment”.R v Owen, [2003] 1 S.C.R. 779. In R v Swain, the Supreme Court of Canada recognized that due to the vast variation in individual circumstances, it is arbitrary to have an automatic rule that all NCR accused should either be released or detained indefinitely.R v Swain [1991] 1 S.C.R. 933.

For the case of power-of-two N, Papadimitriou (1979) argued that the number N \log_2 N of complex-number additions achieved by Cooley–Tukey algorithms is optimal under certain assumptions on the graph of the algorithm (his assumptions imply, among other things, that no additive identities in the roots of unity are exploited). (This argument would imply that at least 2N \log_2 N real additions are required, although this is not a tight bound because extra additions are required as part of complex-number multiplications.) Thus far, no published FFT algorithm has achieved fewer than N \log_2 N complex-number additions (or their equivalent) for power-of-two N. A third problem is to minimize the total number of real multiplications and additions, sometimes called the "arithmetic complexity" (although in this context it is the exact count and not the asymptotic complexity that is being considered). Again, no tight lower bound has been proven. Since 1968, however, the lowest published count for power-of- two N was long achieved by the split-radix FFT algorithm, which requires 4N\log_2(N) - 6N + 8 real multiplications and additions for N > 1.
