However, the airport terminal was not redeveloped despite some community sentiment suggesting it is inadequate.

General maintenance over the years involved painting of the bridge in 1935 and complete replacement of the wooden bridge deck several times. Many of the Dallas Landmark Districts fall within other local or national historic districts as well.
