To assure Ann, Diana, her friend comes to stay in the house.

During this time, Joe is kidnapped, and the family have to be protected by the police due to the possibility of violence and threats from gang members who were involved in the murder. Daniel blames Zara for risking the safety of their family for the sake of assisting with the investigation. In 2018, following some ups and downs with other staff, Daniel and Zara become the only partners at The Mill Health Centre. Daniel's daughter, Izzie Torres (Bethan Moore) comes to stay with them after arguing with her mother.
Bernard, the former mayor of Boston, has invited them to a Jesse Jackson lecture and a reception afterward. Tip is pushed out of the path of an oncoming vehicle by a woman the family believes is a stranger. The novel's plot centers around that woman's identity and that of her 11-year-old daughter Kenya, who comes to stay with the Doyles. Interracial adoption, family allegiances and rivalries, and Boston’s notoriously complex political and racial history come into play, as does the role of religious faith in each family member's life.

Boyd illegally operates on him but decides to return the twins back to Eve, instead of handing Eve in so he gains custody by default. Boyd's niece, Shereez, comes to stay with him and he becomes her new father figure as the two grow into companions. Boyd helps her get a job at Shortland Street and looks after her.
Rory spends the season in a relationship with Dean, while Tristan, the main rival for her affections from the first season, is sent away to military school. Luke's nephew Jess comes to stay with him after getting into trouble at home in New York and his interest in Rory is plain. Darren convinces her he has turned over a new leaf, but he uses his release to drag his cellmate Michael Martin's (Troy Beckwith) sister, Debbie (Marnie Reece-Wilmore) into a life of crime.
The Annapurna Boarding House owned by Rajanibabu (Tulsi Chakraborty) is a peaceful abode where the residents are all friendly except Shibbabu, a senior learned man, who sometimes acts as a killjoy. The story begins when Romola (Suchitra Sen), a relative of Rajanibabu and her family comes to stay in the boarding, after being thrown out of their rented house. Rajanibabu calls a meeting where all the residents except Shibbabu cast vote in favour of Romola's staying. Rampriti (Uttam Kumar), the son of a wealthy family, who also stays at the boarding, is away home.
Hence, he comes to stay with the only person that he could trust, Seyed. However, what he sees is miles away from the Seyed that he knew and had in mind. Although they are both happy to find each other after so many years, Ghodrat is completely shocked to see Seyed, once the ruler of the high school yards and neighbourhoods, to have become a complete and utterly useless heavy drug user living in a lowly state of physical and social being. Seyed is very emotional to see Ghodrat.
Eddie is seen pushing Rory round in a pram, upsetting Becky as she thinks that Anna and Eddie have been given a child. In early 2011, young Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) comes to stay with Anna and Eddie, with a view towards them becoming her foster parents. Faye is quite a troubled young girl and this causes a rift between Anna and Eddie as he becomes discouraged with fostering. Anna is adamant that she will support Faye, particularly after her biological mother is found dead, following a drug overdose.
With the Bradbury Building all to himself, he makes the most of his considerable talents creating automata companions. He is loosely based on the character J. R. Isidore from the novel. He is approached by Pris, whom Sebastian takes in because he thinks she is homeless, and Roy comes to stay with him soon after. Roy and Pris point out that because of his condition, Sebastian has much in common with them, and argue that if they don't get Tyrell's help to extend their lives, Pris will soon die.
Spence moves into a new house where he takes on Carmen Luna as a maid, and his nephew, Ty, comes to stay with him when his mother goes out of town. Ty develops feelings for Carmen though, and proves to be dangerous when he tries to poison Spence. Once Ty is asked to leave, Spence learns he's being killed off on Love Affairs and turns to alcohol to cope. Carmen and Rosie convince him to go to rehab, and once he returns, Rosie is there for him and they decide to get married.
In Series 4, it is revealed that Colin has an illegitimate daughter, Stephanie, who lives in Tasmania, Australia. Colin sends her lots of letters, telling her that he's the manager or that he's done something amazing. When Stephanie comes to stay, all the staff try to help Colin by saying about all the hero acts he's done, or saying he is the manager. When Brittas finds out, he is enraged and incensed, but then does the best things he ever does in the series: backing up Colin's stories.

Liv comes to stay with Aaron for a while and Robert gets suspicious when Liv questions him about the other witness. Robert arrives at the pub and tells Aaron about her questioning about Ryan, Aaron puts it down to curiosity and he brings up that Robert paid him.

Rickles guest-starred in Get Smart as Sid, an old war buddy of Max's, who comes to stay with him. In an episode of Run for Your Life, Rickles portrayed a distressed comedian whose act culminates when he strangles a patron while imploring the patron to "Laugh!" Rickles took a dramatic turn in the low- budget Roger Corman science-fiction/horror film X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes as a carnival barker out to exploit the title character (portrayed by Ray Milland). Rickles and Lorne Greene on The Don Rickles Show in 1968 Rickles appeared in the Beach Party film series.
After arriving in the village, Josh and his sister, Hannah (Emma Rigby) fight over who gets the biggest bedroom. Their parents, Neville (Jim Millea) and Suzanne (Suzanne Hall), decide to let them sort it out for themselves and they race to reach the biggest room. However, older brother Rhys (Andrew Moss) already moved his stuff in and tells Josh and Hannah that he will need the room for when his best friend, Gilly Roach (Anthony Quinlan), comes to stay. Josh and his cousin Fletch then begin a tour in the woods to see the "Hollyoaks Beast".
As soon as he recovers, domestic harmony is shattered when his elderly mother, Peg (Jeanne Hepple), comes to stay. Zak blames Peg for the death of his father, Jed (Richard Mayes), believing she murdered him but when she reveals that Jed deserted them, they declare a truce. When she cancels a dinner date with Andy to work on her book, Andy becomes impatient and tells her that he doesn't have to sit home alone. Helen is indignant, of course, and brushes him off.
Played by Norman Eshley Norman Tripp is Robin's brother who is only seen at the end of the series, not being mentioned before then. He comes to stay with Robin for a few days and starts a relationship with Chrissy. They then arrange to get married and the day before Norman and Chrissy's wedding and Mildred is upset that she has not received an invitation. However, when she delivers their wedding present she discovers that they have been invited and that George has hidden it from her because he wants to go to a darts match.
When Mickey is discharged from the hospital, she comes to stay with her family friend and childhood governess Jeanne Murneau. Mickey will turn twenty-one soon, and she is expected to inherit a vast fortune from Raffermi, a rich old Italian businesswoman who once married Mi's widowed father. It turns out, that Jeanne and Mickey had a love-hate relationship in the past, and Mi's behavior in the months leading to the accident was increasingly erratic, and she refused to visit the dying Raffermi. Jeanne is reluctant to let Mickey see any of her old acquaintances.

Always clad in blue gingham, 108-year-old Gran Next claims not to be able to die until she's read the ten most boring classics. She helps Thursday realize her bookjumping abilities by having her read The Flopsy Bunnies aloud over and over. In The Well of Lost Plots she comes to stay with Thursday in Caversham Heights and helps her to remember Landen and defeat Aornis's mindworm, assuring her that the real Aornis will be much easier. Gran's identity comes into question later on when Thursday realizes that both her grandmothers are long dead and she's only known Gran Next for about three years.
Years later, Trevor appears in a hospital. Apparently having been found insane, he is now under the care of Dr. Ek. The doctor has learned about the book Trevor found, and wants to use it for his own means - one of which, he later admits, is to cure all mental illness. It is around this time that Dr. Coffee comes to stay at the sanitarium and study under Dr. Ek. Trevor seems to have forgotten much of his past including practicing black magic and killing Faith. Dr. Ek talks with Trevor, trying to help him regain any previous memories about where Trevor may have hidden the book.
Raasaiyya (Prabhu Deva) lives with his grandfather, Rathnavel (Vijayakumar), a kind-hearted and honest man in a small town in rural Southern India. Rathnavel is very easy-going and permits Raasaiyya to indulge in all kinds of precocious activities. When young and beautiful Anitha (Roja) comes to stay for a few days with Rathnavel, both Raasaiyya and she fall in love with each other and would like to get married. But Raasaiyya is unable to assert himself, and Anitha's marriage is arranged with a NRI groom settled in the US. Rathnavel would like to present a decent dowry for Anitha, which includes a priceless diamond necklace.
5 years later, Kewal Sharma marries Rekha, who is Suraj Prakash's girlfriend. On discovering that Rekha's husband is a drunkard and a womaniser, Rekha's father dies of a heart attack and Rekha's brother (Doby, rebirth of actual Deepak Rai) comes to stay in Deepak Rai's house. Doby, aged 5 by now, knows all about the house and the estate, although he has never been there before in his present life. Suraj Prakash and friend, Inspector Darshan (Rajendra Nath) figure out the mystery behind Doby's familiarity of the place and decide to collect enough evidence against Kewal Sharma to prove him guilty of his crime of murder and deceit.
There he spends hours talking to Bronwen, and his love for her deepens. Mr Lloyd’s cousin, a famous preacher by the name of Pritchard Ellis, comes to stay. He is revered by the local people for the power of his public oratory, but in private he is a hypocrite and sexual voyeur. After sexually touching Bronwen when they are alone, and being repulsed, he retaliates by spreading false rumours that Pugh and Bronwen are committing adultery. He preaches a powerful two-hour sermon in chapel denouncing Bronwen and Pugh's ‘wickedness’, though without mentioning them by name, which results in their being ostracised by the community.
Gail Holloway (Christine Estabrook) is Joan's mother, who comes to stay with Joan after Joan's son Kevin is born. She first appears in the Season 5 premiere "A Little Kiss" and remains as a recurring character through much of the season; she again appears in numerous Season 6 episodes, beginning with "To Have and to Hold", as well as the Season 7 episode "The Strategy". Gail is supportive of Joan, but their relationship is somewhat tense. She does not understand why Joan would want to return to work, thinking she should instead be content to be a full-time wife and mother, and she makes several disparaging comments to that effect.
When Marco is rejected by his lover Thierry and comes to stay with Jacques, the two discuss again their intentions to commit suicide before they can be claimed by the disease. Jacques lives on the floor below his good friend Mathieu (Denis Podalydès), an older gay man and newspaper editor who regular caters to Jacques's flamboyant episodes. In the meantime, Jacques meets 22-year-old Arthur (Vincent Lacoste), a student and camp counselor, during a work event in Brittany. Arthur is in the throes of a relatively newfound homosexual lifestyle, and he finds himself disenchanted by his generation's rejection of literature and shame of sex; for these reasons, he is drawn to Jacques and his intellectualism.
She sneaks into a hospital nursery, where she meets Théodore, the baby, and eventually, Masha, the nurse. Masha is alarmed to find Mila there, and at first, mistakes her for the mother of the child, a refugee gone missing. Max, a medical officer who seems very fond of the authority he wields, is about to interfere when he is the first to receive a full blast of higher-dosage "disconnection", which sends him stuttering that he has never known how to give birth, and that the nurse is really the expert in that regard. He then becomes a friend of Mila's, and she comes to stay in his home, where he and his wife share a seemingly unhappy marriage.
Sumika becomes involved with her classmate Azusa Aoi, a quiet girl and aspiring writer who plans to attend a dōjinshi convention fueled by her love of yuri author Orino Masaka, which is the pen name of Ushio's older brother Norio. Sumika gets roped into helping Azusa and attending the summer convention as well, despite wanting to spend time with Ushio. After the sports day competition and cultural festival, a short German high school girl named Charlotte Münchhausen (nicknamed Lotte), comes to stay at Sumika's home and dojo to train in karate. Sumika, who had quit karate because it is not "cute", starts training again to help in Charlotte's training, much to the joy of Sumika's father.

Moore later managed her husband's comedy Eliza Comes to Stay, which opened at the Criterion Theatre on 12 February 1913, transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre on 6 July 1914, and then took the play to New York City for an unsuccessful run.
A distraught Gail waits for hours for news on whether he is alive or dead, and when he eventually turns up at the house, Gail swears to him that she will never let the situation get so out of hand again. Her relationship with Sarah becomes strained when it is revealed that Sarah was aware of the suicide note when in fact he hadn't intended on killing himself at all, just ruin Sarah's wedding. She began to blame herself, how her son David becomes evil since his father Martin left the town, and wish that she and Martin never divorced. Gail's half brother Stephen comes to stay for Christmas and offers David a job in Milan which he accepts.
Ellie's deer grows older and escapes her pen, and Marsh foretells that the deer will have to be killed for eating all their food. Geechee's husband comes to stay with her after being released from prison, and Rawlings offers him a place to work in her grove, but he refuses and Rawlings asks him to leave. Even though her husband drinks and gambles, Geechee goes to leave with him, and Rawlings admits she will be sad to see Geechee leave, after Geechee demands to know why Rawlings would allow a friend to make such a mistake. Geechee decides to stay after all after telling Rawlings that she should learn how to treat her friends better.
Lilian Kominski, played by Anna Korwin, is the mother of Rachel Kominski (Jacquetta May). She comes to stay with Rachel unexpectedly following a row with her husband, Joseph, and she refuses to return home until her husband begs her to. Lilian is an interfering, judgemental and critical person, who constantly upsets and embarrasses Rachel in front of her friends. She jibes Rachel for not dressing attractively or having a husband; criticises her lifestyle; meddles in her blossoming relationship with Richard Cole (Ian Reddington); frowns upon Rachel's lodger, Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully), for having an interracial relationship with Clyde Tavernier (Steven Woodcock); and tells anyone who cares to listen about how badly Rachel treats her and how much she has sacrificed for her.
Stanley Manning is a fortysomething petrol-station attendant and hobbyist crossword puzzler who lives with his wife, Vera, and mother-in-law, Maud. Maud is a controlling elderly woman who despises Stanley as a ne’er-do-well, based partly on his conviction prior to meeting Vera for mugging an old woman. They make Vera’s life unhappy as they bicker every day, but on learning that Maud has £20,000 (£284,825 as of 2019, per inflation) due in her will to Vera, Stanley plans to deal with Maud once and for all by interfering with her medication. Things go steadily wrong when Maud’s friend Ethel comes to stay, and soon Stanley’s crosswords become an obsession as he tries to stay calm in the face of danger on several fronts.
The tale tells of a merchant whose wife enjoys revelry and socializing, on which she spends money. A young monk, who is close friends with the merchant, comes to stay with them. After confessing that she does not love her husband, the wife asks the monk for one hundred franks to pay her debts. The monk, without her knowledge, borrows the money from the merchant to give to the wife, at which point she agrees with the monk: :"That for thise hundred frankes he sholde al nyght :Have hire in his armes bolt upright;" (lines 315-316) The monk volunteers the information that he has returned the loan back to the wife a few days after he had borrowed it, and then leaves town.
Miss Horatia Dane is a lonely widow who lives in Longfield, far from any family. The narrator reveals a rumor that Miss Dane had a lover who was lost at sea, though she never mentions him. Nelly Dane, the daughter of Miss Horatia’s youngest cousin, comes to stay with Miss Horatia in Longfield. Nelly is extremely helpful around the house, and everyone in this small, rural area loves her. Nelly hears about the rumor of Miss Dane’s deceased lover from one of the townspeople, and promptly asks Melissa, Miss Dane’s servant. The NCIS team investigates the murder of a man found dead at Patuxent River Station by his wife who had just returned from six months at sea on a deployment. After discovering the man had a $100 bill that has not been put in circulation yet, they team up with very abrupt and bossy Secret Service Agent Winter to find the rest of the money. Meanwhile, Tony's father, Anthony DiNozzo, Sr. (Robert Wagner), comes to stay with Tony for Christmas, causing some friction between the two as they have never managed to spend a whole Christmas together in years. Senior is a bit distressed that his sons apartment is rather sparsely decorated, and tries to get him into the spirit of Christmas when he notices that Tony does not have a Christmas tree.
Irene is the ex-wife of Ted Hills (Brian Croucher) and the estranged mother of Sarah and Tony Hills (Daniela Denby-Ashe and Mark Homer), and she arrives in Albert Square following Ted's departure to South Africa in August 1997. She comes to stay with her children after she was fleeced out of her divorce settlement by a conman. Her children are initially hostile to her for being absent for so many years, as is her sister-in-law Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), who resents her for her treatment of her brother. Irene soon manages to sway her children's opinion back in her favour and they begin to grow close, although she does manage to ruin her son's relationship with Simon Raymond (Andrew Lynford), when she reveals Tony's fling with his colleague Polly Becker (Victoria Gould).
Arthur Zouch, portrait painter and self-declared "superman," comes to stay at Passenger Court, ostensibly to paint the portrait of the younger Passenger daughter, Mary, but in no small part on the lookout for any opportunity he can find to improve either his social, financial, or sexual satisfaction. At Passenger court, he finds opportunity for all three, but he also finds unanticipated conflict in the person of Vernon Passenger, also a self-proclaimed "superman." Meanwhile, the neighboring Fosdick family – the Major, his sons Torquil and Jasper – carry on a seemingly perpetual feud with the Passengers that is as often characterized by displays of better manners and more proper etiquette as it is by bad temper and argument. Joanna Brandon, a local young woman, further complicates the lives of several of the principals; she may be Powell’s most sensitively rendered female character.
At a music showcase at the Premiere, Drake performs his new song "Makes Me Happy" for a music deal from record producer Alan Krim (mentioned in the show's first television film) and he succeeds. While at Spin City Records, they agree to put Drake's song in a commercial that will air during the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Helen is getting married to Buzz, and with many of her family members staying in her apartment, her grandmother Lula comes to stay at the Parker-Nichols' house for a week, forcing the boys to share their room with Megan due to Lula staying in hers instead of the guest room. In retaliation for this, Megan redecorates the boys' room to a pink girly style, confining them to a single matress in a corner, and invites her friends from school to hang out with her in the room.
In the midst of being remodeled, for a more open, safe floorplan, the show's seventh season starts with John Carter (Noah Wyle) completing his drug rehabilitation and trying to be who he was before he got stabbed with the support of Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney), whose own life is in disarray after she is forced to drop out of medical school, her new romance with Luka Kovač (Goran Visnjic) hits many pitfalls and she reaches a crossroads in her Nurse position at County, and her bipolar-afflicted mother (Sally Field in an Emmy-winning turn) comes to stay. Tragedy ensues when Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards) is diagnosed with terminal cancer, giving him only weeks to live. Kerry Weaver (Laura Innes) also has some issues of her own as she deals with her new lifestyle. Benton (Eriq La Salle) tries to find a new spot at County.
Tyson (Ashley Chin), Mannie (Jason Maza) and Jason (Michael Maris) grew up together in a tough inner-city world in London's East End, where no one could be trusted and everyone was out for themselves. With opportunities limited, it is crime that pays the bills and violence on the streets is how someone makes their mark. They make a living out of armed robberies with the help of eye candy Davina (Anna Nightingale) to seduce and lure drunken, unsuspecting rich City men in clubs, go back with them to their expensive flats, then Tyson and his crew move in, beat them up and steal everything. When naive, middle class, country-girl from the Home counties Tia (Ashley Madekwe) comes to stay in the London council flat of her cousin Davina, a close friend of Tyson, little does she realizes that Davina and her friends have a lucrative side-line honey-trap scam and that her naivety will disturb the delicate balance of Davina and her group of friends.
