The defeat brought Cork's decade of success to an end, as Willie "Long Puck" Murphy, Alan Lotty and Jim Young hung up their hurleys for the final time after the game. There was an inevitability about the meeting of Cork and Tipperary in the 1950 Munster final, a game which marked a low point in the history of crowd-troubled games. The official attendance at Fitzgerald Stadium was given as 39,000, however, up to 50,000 saw the game as gates were broken down, walls were scaled at the pitch invaded with supporters.
When Hollywood producer Mike Judge (Beavis and Butthead, Silicon Valley) decided to do a mini-series for Cinemax in 2017 (Tales From the Tour Bus) featuring some of country music's most colorful characters, the Adams Brothers were featured in three of the episodes. Although officially long retired from the music industry, Don Adams along with his brothers, is occasionally coaxed out of retirement to do fund raisers and events for local charities. Their rare live shows attract large crowds of classic country music fans, many of whom have been fans for more than a half-century. Adams was frequently mistaken for the Get Smart actor Don Adams, and Jack O'Diamonds Records received requests for the actor to sing the country singer's hit "Two of the Usual" on the Get Smart show.
Retired safe-cracker Chris Gretchko is coaxed out of comfortable retirement by Jeff Olafson, the impulsive son of a former accomplice, who begs him to help steal an undocumented shipment of diamonds to satiate Van Stratten, a New York City crime boss whose mistress, Jessica, has been seeing Jeff on the side. Chris subsequently recruits his old friend, pawn shop owner Sam, who agrees to fence the diamonds afterward. When they learn Van Stratten intends to cut them out of the deal, Chris and Jeff plot a countermeasure, resulting in Jeff getting thrown in jail to give him plausible deniability, and Chris convalescing in a safe house after getting shot during the heist. Clarisse, an eccentric neighbor in the building, discovers Chris, and agrees to help tend his injuries and lie to police who come looking for him.

Artist Ramona Fradon was coaxed out of maternity retirement to illustrate Metamorpho's first appearances. The popularity of Metamorpho's appearances in The Brave and the Bold led to a 17-issue ongoing series between 1965 and 1968. Metamorpho also appeared during this time in two issues of Justice League of America (#42 and #44) and became the second superhero to decline an invitation to join that organization (Adam Strange being the first), though he did become a reservist, eventually being called in during a Justice League/Justice Society crossover to help find and rescue the Seven Soldiers of Victory. Metamorpho appears on the cover of Aquaman #30 as one of the pallbearers (along with Batman, Hawkman, and Superman) at the "Sea King's Funeral". Metamorpho also appears in a series of backup stories in Action Comics #413–418 and World's Finest Comics #218–220 and #229.
