As of now, Northwestern and Colchester have consolidated to form West Prairie High School. Avon High School has co-oped with Abingdon High School. Dallas City has consolidated with La Harpe and Carthage to form Illini West High School. Roseville and Monmouth have consolidated to form Monmouth-Roseville High School.

Waxahachie Global High does not have any UIL- sanctioned sports teams, but has co-oped with the YMCA and formed recreational teams for flag football, basketball, softball, ballroom dance, cheerleading, and volleyball. Past and present academic and social clubs at Global High include TSA, Robotics, DI, Interact, Student Council, Recipe Club, Pro-Life, Bible Study, Gaming Club, Philosopher's Club, Science Club, FCS, Choir, Prom Committee, Gardening Club, Art Club, Quidditch Club, Media Club, and NHS.

Hamilton Community Unit School District #328 consists of Hamilton Elementary, Hamilton Junior High School, and Hamilton High School. The school's nickname is the Cardinals, but is switching over to Titans with the sports co-op with Warsaw and Nauvoo schools. The only sports that will still be "Cardinals" are Scholastic Bowl and Junior High and Elementary sports. In 2008, the newly co-oped West Hancock (Hamilton, Warsaw, Nauvoo-Colusa) Girls basketball team took first place in the IHSA Class 2A Championship.

Milford High School, which also brings in students from nearby communities of Stockland, Wellington and Sheldon, fields varsity level teams in; golf, baseball, softball, football, volleyball, cheer leading, and basketball. Teams play under the nickname "Bearcats" (boys) and "Lady Cats" (girls). Football cooperative agreements: In the spring of 2009 it was announced that Cissna Park and Milford would form a high school football cooperative to become more competitive. Previously, the football program had co-oped with Sheldon (from 1993 through Sheldon's becoming part of the Milford school district) and Donovan (in 1997 and 1998).

Gibbons left Texas to pursue his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Northwestern University chosen due to receiving a partial scholarship from Northwestern, Northwestern's proximity to Chicago and the jazz music scene there (Gibbons played trombone and was also pondering a possible musical career), and also due to Northwestern's co-op requirement. Gibbons co-oped at Tungstal, where he worked on vacuum tubes being used in televisions. In 1953, after five years (due to the mandatory co-op), Gibbons finished his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at Northwestern University in 1953. He also earned a National Science Foundation fellowship from his efforts at Northwestern, which was able to be used at any school across the United States.
