3-13 of Cavendish Place, so Pinch made No. 2 slightly shorter than No. 3 and No. 1 slightly shorter than No. 2, to avoid a sudden change in height between the two terraces. Each building has 4 storeys plus a basement and rises as the terrace climbs up the hill. This technique was used by Pinch at various sloping sites in Bath.

Telephone lines can also be flown under in the same way. Additionally, when the Tornado flies over a building, its shadow "climbs" up the wall, again giving the illusion of a 3rd dimension.

When there is fog, the man additionally turns on the lighthouse's fog bell.
After meeting Wolf Run Road, SR 215 abuts the southeastern boundary of Wolf Run State Park. The route passes the Hickory Hill Road (County Road 14) intersection, then turns east and crosses into Center Township. SR 215 climbs up and down hilly terrain that is generally open field in the foreground, with trees forming a very scenic background. A few homes now appear alongside the highway as it bends to the southeast, and curves back to the northeast just prior to arriving at its endpoint at a T-intersection with SR 285 just west of Sarahsville.
New Excalibur #19 Her Diana Fox persona climbs up the rank of Albion's Shadow Captains as Britannia, and develops a rivalry with Lionheart. Like the rest of Albion's army, Sage is given a suit that emphasizes loyalty to him, as well as equipping her with flight and superhuman physical strength. Although she has the opportunity to kill Albion, one purpose of her infiltration, she is struck by an errant pulse from an ancient item used by Albion to extinguish power in England. Though Lionheart suspects her betrayal, Albion believes she was only trying to protect him.
While the nuns discuss the preparations for the Cardinal's visit the following day, Gontran and Marie meet, vow their love, but are joined by Brissac and Louise, who has insisted on leaving with them as the price of her silence. A ladder is produced from the gardener's shed but before they can climb it, they hear Bridaine and hide. When Bridaine spots the ladder he thinks that Marie has been abducted, and climbs up to check, at which Simone removes it. He is left stranded on the wall when the governor arrives at the convent gate.
In the Eastern Alps and in parts of the Mid Alps (up to Bad Urach) W ß does not appear as a layer-former, but as escarpment in the slope which climbs up to the W δ. W ß and W δ levels, the latter being about 100 m high, are distinctly pronounced from Reutlingen to Mössingen. Further to the west the W ß forms both the front of the Albtrauf and an adjoining dip slope, which is several kilometres broad. Moreover, the W δ step, which includes inliers and outliers located on the outskirts such as Kornbühl, is receding.
In the ditch, the political hacks are ordered to strip off their clothes and engage in a diving contest. Dulness says, "Who flings most filth, and wide pollutes around/ The stream, be his the Weekly Journals, bound" (II 267–268), while a load of lead will go to the deepest diver and a load of coal to the others who participate. "The Weekly Journals" was a collective noun, referring to London Journal, Mist's Journal, British Journal, Daily Journal, inter al. In this contest, John Dennis climbs up as high as a post and dives in, disappearing forever.
Jue Yuan and the Emperor duel with swords and empty hands and feet on the shores of the great river. Their battle climbs up a great wooden structure, falls off the top into the river, and returns to the shore. Finally Jue Yuan uses his Northern Shaolin kung fu to kill the Emperor, and the battle for the East Capital is won. The film returns to its beginning, with Jue Yuan in the sanctum of the Shaolin Temple, kneeling before the high altar, as the new Abbot asks him if he can obey the vow to do no murder.
An old tree is going to get cut down and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) is really upset about it since that tree means a lot to him. Deciding to save the tree, he gets there and climbs up it. At the end of the day, they manage to save the tree and Cameron makes it on the newspaper.
At Sandy Gap, US 421 reaches the highest point of its route in Tennessee at . Once descended from the Iron Mountains, US 421/SR 34/SR 91 then enter countryside and farmland again as it enters Shady Valley and come to an intersection with SR 133, where SR 91 splits off to the southwest. US 421/SR 34 then climbs up Holston Mountain, where they cross into Sullivan County at Low Gap. This is the second stretch of aggressively curvy with constant elevation changing along US 421, with this whole section, between Mountain City and Holston Valley, being very popular with motorcycle enthusiasts.
Xian riding dragons, (Project Gutenberg eText 15250) The (3rd–2nd centuries BC) Daoist Zhuangzi (1, Watson 1968:33) describes a shenren "holy person" riding a feilong > He said that there is a Holy Man living on faraway Ku-she Mountain, with > skin like ice or snow, and gentle and shy like a young girl. The massage chair is delivered to George by mistake but when he discovers how good it feels, he keeps it for himself and pretends it never arrived. When Jerry complains about having to carry around his girlfriend's things, Elaine gives him a "European carry all", which every male character thinks looks like a purse. Meanwhile, Newman finds Puddy's fur coat in a tree and deftly climbs up to get it (using expert climbing skills he apparently learned in the Pacific Northwest). But later, the building landlord, Silvio (Jon Polito), spots the fur coat inside Newman's apartment by looking through the reverse peephole.
The highway begins in Lae and travels through the Markham Valley and the province of Morobe. From the Markham Valley the Highlands Highway turns left and climbs up and over the approximately 1,500 metre high Kassam Pass and into the Eastern Highlands Province. It passes over the wall of Yonki Dam and then travels through the towns of Kainantu and Henganofi to the provincial capital, Goroka. From here it travels up and then over the high Daulo Pass and crosses into Simbu Province, hence, so many gazetted roads within Chuave District link the main Okuk High Way.
Set and filmed on location in the tenement section of New York's Lower East Side, the film tells the story of a young boy, Tommy Woodry (Bobby Driscoll), who has a habit of crying wolf. Late one night, he climbs up the building fire escape and sees his two seemingly normal neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Kellerson (Paul Stewart and Ruth Roman), murder a drunken sailor in their apartment. No one – neither the boy's parents nor the police – believes young Tommy when he tells them what he has seen, since they all assume that this is just another of the boy's tall tales.
The nymph has what Cott calls "special alluring coloration" (aggressive mimicry), where the animal itself is the "decoy". The insect is pink and white, with flattened limbs with "that semiopalescent, semicrystalline appearance that is caused in flower petals by a purely structural arrangement of liquid globules or empty cells". The mantis climbs up the twigs of the plant and stands imitating a flower and waits for its prey patiently. It then sways from side to side, and soon various small flies land on and around it, attracted by the small black spot on the end of its abdomen, which resembles a fly.
Weihenmayer has also made noteworthy climbs up the Nose of El Capitan in Yosemite in 1996, and ascended Losar, a vertical ice face in the Himalayas in 2008. In 2005, he co-founded No Barriers, a nonprofit organization with the tagline, "What’s within you is stronger than what’s in your way." The organization helps people of diverse backgrounds and abilities to attack challenges head on, problem solve, build winning teams, and serve others. In September 2014, Weihenmayer and blinded Navy veteran, Lonnie Bedwell, kayaked the entire of the Grand Canyon, considered one of the most formidable whitewater locations in the world.
The entrance to the canyon is guarded by a boulderfield that requires some Class 3 scrambling to cross. Beyond the boulderfield is the popular camping area known as the Meadows, above which the canyon divides into north and south forks. The north fork leads up to the lower saddle between Middle Teton and Grand Teton and is the starting point for many classic climbs on Grand Teton. The south fork climbs up to a saddle between Middle Teton and South Teton and is the starting point for some of the easier routes up those two summits.
Goat Scar, Raven Crag and Brown Crags are the main faces, while Steel Pike appears from the valley bridleway as an independent rocky peak. The remains of the large Wrengill Quarry are just north of here, together with a mine entrance a little higher up the slope. The ridge northwards to Harter Fell drops to a wet depression and then climbs up the grassy ridge, following first the wall and then a broken fence. South-eastwards the ridge continues to the cairned top of Goat Scar, which provides a good viewpoint for the craggy throat of Longsleddale.
With a rope let down by Klove, Simon climbs up the sheer outer wall to go after Sarah, knowing that Dracula may use her as his new mistress. Sarah, meanwhile, has made her way back to the castle battlements as a storm approaches. Suddenly, she is confronted by Dracula, who this time uses his bat familiar to remove her crucifix. Just then, Klove arrives on the battlements and attacks the Count with the dagger the vampire used to murder Tania, but the servant is hopelessly outmatched by the vampire's inhuman strength and is thrown over the side of the castle.
At the end of each school year during the annual festival, the foundation of the stone figure of the school's founder Duke Johann Casimir is "crowned" at the corner of the Renaissance building of the school. A student or a student girl in the upper third (in terms of his or her school performance) of the 12th Grade makes a speech. Then he or she, along with the year's valedictorian, climbs up a ladder to the figure of the school's founder and lays a wreath on the keystone. Another wreath is attached to the arm of the former ruler.

George gets to the tree, climbs up it, puts the bear in the empty newspaper sack he still had, and lowers him safely into the workers arms. When he gets back down from the tree, he is praised for his actions, gets the coat and cap back, and is reinstated to the show. The whole city comes to see the show, including the paperboy, the Man, and even all the residents who never got their newspapers that day due to George. Afterwards, he is praised for his act, and got to keep not only the coat and cap, but the bugle too.
He then hears the sound of grinding teeth. Believing himself responsible for Chiemi's death, and reasoning that it could have been a suicide, he is beset by remorse, and then receives a second phone call, much like the first. A few days later, Eri asks her father for a flashlight so she can check the attic for mice, but he insists that he goes to check himself, much to Eri's warnings about his heart condition. After some time passes, Eri notices that her father wasn't answering her calls, and climbs up into the attic to investigate.
After leaving the station, the train makes a 180 degree right turn, passes over two small bunny hills, and begins its ascent up the lift hill. After cresting the top of the lift hill, the train drops at a 90-degree angle, reaching its maximum speed of . After this drop, the train traverses a small airtime hill, followed by a climb into a larger airtime hill, which drops riders slightly to the right. Next, the train climbs up a left outward banked hill, dips slightly right, and passes over another small airtime hill, which leads to the first inversion, a zero-g roll.
From there, the band is picked up by a local manager who helps them get more shows in the area, and eventually the song receives radio airplay. The band is then signed to Play-Tone Records, under Mr. White's guidance, and the song climbs up the Billboard Hot 100, starting at #93, then #71, #49, and #21. The following week, "That Thing You Do" climbs to #7, becoming the quickest charting song ever on Play-Tone Records. However, Jimmy walks out on the band before they can produce another record, so they eventually become one-hit wonders.
During the ceremony, the king first climbs up to the pedestal, cleans the image by wiping away any dust with a wet cloth, and changes the gold headress of the Emerald Buddha. The king then worships nearby while an attendant performs the elaborate ritual of changing the rest of the decorative garments. The king also sprays holy water, which is mixed with the water rinsed from the wet cloth used to wipe the dust of the image, upon his subjects waiting outside the ordination hall. Previously this was a privilege afforded only to the princes and officials who were attending the ceremony (uposatha) inside the ubosot.
The route climbs up Mount Bassie and crosses its western face and a small but crevasse-ridden icefield. Especially in the late summer, when snow bridges have melted and blue ice is prevalent, this portion of the route can be the most dangerous and difficult part of the trip. An orbicular ridge leads north after Mount Bassie, splitting the Blue Lake watershed on the western side of the island from the Baranof River watershed on the eastern side of the island. The geology of the ridge (which also features basalt dikes) offers many locations to make camp with access to small pools for drinking water.
A very attractive and easy-to-grow creeper for gardening. Its even, multi-coloured, evergreen foliage is particularly attractive and ornamental, and it makes a good local alternative to ivy for African gardens. It can also be grown in the shade (and even indoors) as well as in the open sun. It can be used as a groundcover in shady areas; it can be planted to grow up walls like ivy (although it requires a trellis of some sort for its tendrils to hold onto); it readily climbs up and over a fence to form a screen or hedge; and it can even be used to make wire-basket topiaries.
Alternatively a chair lift may be taken to the top station of the Untermarkt Chairlift and from there in about half an hour to the managed hut which is at roughly the same altitude. From the hut the route follows a steep path, that is unattractive for an Alpine trail, up to the Muttekopfscharte col and from there gently climbs up to the Muttekopf, taking 2 to 3 hours from the hut. In dry weather this can be walked without difficulties and is apparently suitable for children. Another ascent starts at the Pfafflar () and runs through the Fundaistal and up the Kübelwände to the summit.
Florence Carala and Julien Tavernier are lovers who plan to kill Florence's husband, Simon Carala, a wealthy industrialist who is also Julien's boss. Julien is an ex-Foreign Legion parachutist officer and a veteran of the Indochina and Algeria wars. After working late on a Saturday, with a rope he climbs up one story on the outside of the office building, shoots Carala in his office without being seen, arranges the room to make it look like a suicide, and then makes his way out to the street. As he gets into his Chevrolet convertible outside, he glances up and sees his rope still hanging from the building.
Suddenly realizing where he is once the colonel starts counting down, Woody tears apart some of the rocket's electronics to stop the blast off, once again bringing the colonel outside to try and stop him. Woody first throws a motor at the colonel, then cuts the elevator so it drops on him. As the colonel climbs up to the top of the rocket (his only means of getting up there now), Woody climbs down, then goes into the control room and launches the rocket. Only the top of the rocket, where Woody had been making home, blasts off and crashes down to the ground with the colonel in it.
In nature, sexual conflicts between males and females are very frequent because males and females have very different reproduction purposes. Males have relatively less parental investment than females, so their goal is to fertilize as many females as possible. Females, on the other hand, tend to be reluctant to mate repeatedly and only select those males with good genes. Female spiders can display aggressiveness in a variety of ways: shake the web and chase the male when approaching; kick the male when the male makes contact with the female’s leg; violently shake body when the male climbs up the female's dorsum; abruptly interrupt mating by kick the male off.
There are a number of routes to the summit; one of the most popular ascents starts from the forest car park at Ballycuggaran, Ogonnelloe. The route passes through one of the conifer plantations that have been created on the shoulder of the mountain and other nearby hills by Coillte, the state owned forestry company. The route then follows part of the long-distance path known as the East Clare Way which runs in a circular route from Killaloe and passes along the eastern flanks of Moylussa, but does not ascend to its highest point. Beyond this the path climbs up into the open area of moorland.
Meanwhile, Boog falls madly in love with Ursa, a female grizzly bear who was born in Russia and can effortlessly walk on a tightrope, juggle, and dance (which Boog finds to be "bearvana"), but has no luck convincing her that he isn't Doug. Ursa dares Boog to prove to her that he isn't Doug by climbing up the high wire. Boog accepts and climbs up the wire, but to his surprise, Ursa reveals that she knew he wasn't Doug the moment he rode the unicycle (which Doug couldn't do). When Boog and Ursa begin working together, they obtain much more as a harmonious duet than it might seem at first glance.
Passing a small valley, the path climbs up to a rocky plateau where the track becomes less well defined. Making a large curve towards the North, which is partially covered by the vegetation, the path follows the edge of a small valley, continuing until it reaches a balcony overlooking the sea (2 km from Portu Cuau). Keeping the sea behind, the path proceeds through small rocks and holm oak sections, until it reaches the ovile of Kenos Trainos, one of the most important along the Selvaggio Blu. From this point, the path becomes less clear because of thick vegetation and a small rocky step.
The trend of increased empathy has coincidentally motivated a new technology-based religion called Mercerism, which uses "empathy boxes" to link users simultaneously to a virtual reality of collective suffering, centered on a martyr-like character, Wilbur Mercer, who eternally climbs up a hill while being hit with crashing stones. Acquiring high-status animal pets and linking in to empathy boxes appear to be the only two ways characters in the story strive for existential fulfillment. In addition to the "empathy boxes", inhabitants of the novel's fictional future world use "Penfield Mood Organs" to precisely adjust their moods according to a dynamic range of available settings.
So the man climbs up the ladder and fights the Sisters in one last battle to save the world. After winning the battle, the man is ready to deal the final blow and end the Sisters' lives, when suddenly, the Temple of Eternity collapses. The Sisters have never actually seen the world, only knowing that they wanted to destroy it and make it their own. But now, after they see the beauty and tranquility that both time and mankind had created, the Sisters humbly surrender to the man and retreat back to where they belong; one Sister to the Sun, one to the Moon.
Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, is sometimes said to have created the concept of the self-made man. In his Autobiography, he describes his way from a poor, unknown son of a candle-maker to a very successful business man and highly acknowledged member of the American society. Franklin creates the archetype of someone coming from low origins, who, against all odds, breaks out of his inherited social position, climbs up the social ladder and creates a new identity for himself. Key factors in this rise from rags to riches are hard work and a solid moral foundation.
SR 148 begins at Georgia State Route 189 at the TN-GA border in both Lookout Mountain, Tennessee and Lookout Mountain, Georgia. It proceeds northeast to a four-way intersection where SR 148 turns northward and continues northward to Downtown Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, where SR 148 turns eastward and leaves the Town limits of Lookout Mountain. It then turns back north and climbs up the mountain ridge and inters Chattanooga city limits and passes Ruby Falls and comes to a three way T intersection, SR 318 goes west and SR 148 turns back eastward and comes to an end at an intersection with US 11/US 41/US 64/US 72.
Great Rigg (left) and Fairfield from Heron Pike, on the Fairfield horseshoe. Fairfield is most commonly climbed as the high point of the Fairfield horseshoe, a walk which has no agreed direction of travel. Coming from Great Rigg, the long grassy ridge heads directly for the summit, whilst the walker arriving from Hart Crag climbs up from Link Hause with a fine view of Scrubby Crag to the right, before the stony traverse of Fairfield summit. Perhaps the finest indirect ascent is from Patterdale via Birks and St Sunday Crag, following the fine narrow ridge down to Deepdale Hause before ascending rough ground to Cofa Pike.
Wolverine awakens to find his lower half missing, his body having been ripped in half by the Hulk minutes earlier. Using his keen sense of smell, he finds his legs have been thrown to the top of a mountain. As he climbs up a mountain to retrieve his legs, he recalls the events leading up to his current situation. He recounts meeting Nick Fury, Betty Ross and Jennifer Walters, and being told that the Hulk is alive and responsible for several "incidents" of mass destruction after a public "execution" by S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury gives Logan (Wolverine) the assignment to hunt down and "take care" of the Hulk.
The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail passes north/south through the wilderness, which is known for its many lakes and views of four nearby volcanoes: Mount Adams, Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Rainier. It is also known to hikers for an intense population of mosquitoes throughout the summer. Other major trails in the area are Indian Heaven Trail and the Cultus Creek Trail, which climbs up the east side of Bird Mountain, and Lemei Trail which traverses up the east side of Lemei Rock and passes by Lake Wapiki. In late fall, the huckleberry bushes provide berries as well as intense orange color in some years.
In his commentary on Gaudapada's explanation of the Mandukya Upanishad, the 9th-century Hindu teacher Adi Shankara, illustrating a philosophical point, wrote of a juggler who throws a thread up into the sky; he climbs up it carrying arms and goes out of sight; he engages in a battle in which he is cut into pieces, which fall down; finally he arises again. A few words further on Shankara referred to the principle underlying the trick, saying that the juggler who ascends is different from the real juggler who stands unseen, "veiled magically", on the ground.Panoli, V. (tr.), Prasthanathraya vol. II, Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing Co., Calicut, 2006, p. 325.
The eastern terminus of the cycleway is at Merrenburn Avenue, Naremburn. The eastern segment of the conjoined cycleway, opened in 2007, follows the direction of the Gore Hill Freeway, west to Willoughby Road where it proceeds over Willoughby Road on a shared pedestrian and cycleway bridge. Form here the cycleway continues west alongside the Gore Hill Freeway, where it climbs up a ramp to the Pacific Highway. Travelling west, initially alongside Longuiville Road and then Epping Road where the bus lane is permitted to be used by cyclists, the western segment of the conjoined cycleway was completed in 2008 at a cost of 7.6 million.
The protagonist proceeds from the hold of the ship to the infirmary, then the kitchen, then the dining room, and finally the deck. Along the way he/she collects the entire map and escapes elemental traps set by the baron by using several loa which turns the protagonist into a spirit like form which he/she uses to deactivate the trap. After changing the course of the ship, the butler reveals that the Baron controls the ship telepathically, and the protagonist has to defeat the Baron to change the course. The protagonist climbs up the mast and frees the souls the Baron has captured before confronting the Baron.
A grizzled prospector arrives in a pristine mountain valley and decides to dig for gold in a grassy meadow beside a river. Over the course of several days, he pans through shovelfuls of dirt to count the gold specks, and then begins digging a deeper hole once he has triangulated the likely source. After his first night camping at the site, he spots a great horned owl tending its treetop nest at the edge of the valley. When he climbs up and reaches the nest, the mother owl's watchful gaze from a nearby tree causes him to replace three of the four eggs he had taken for his breakfast.
When the naiad is ready to metamorphose into an adult, it stops feeding and makes its way to the surface, generally at night. It remains stationary with its head out of the water, while its respiration system adapts to breathing air, then climbs up a reed or other emergent plant, and moults (ecdysis). Anchoring itself firmly in a vertical position with its claws, its skin begins to split at a weak spot behind the head. The adult dragonfly crawls out of its larval skin, the exuvia, arching backwards when all but the tip of its abdomen is free, to allow its exoskeleton to harden.
At Cemmaes Road the road joins the A487 at a roundabout. A right turn at the roundabout takes the road on to Mallwyd where the A458 joins at yet another roundabout. The country becomes more forested and the road climbs up through Dinas Mawddwy and then steeply up the eastern foot-hills of Cadair Idris before dropping down to the Dolgellau by-pass. More sharp twists and turns in the forestry and through the village of Ganllwyd brings the road up onto the high plateau of the Cambrian dome where the road follows the ancient track of Sarn Helen Roman road passing the redundant nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd.
Wash Common is situated at the far western end of a plateau of sand and gravel which forms part of the Bagshot Formation. The plateau runs on an east–west axis, and its top originally consisted of boggy heath known as the Newbury Wash. The slope is steepest on the Western side, and to the north it overlooks the Kennet Valley, factors in the First Battle of Newbury. Towards the north west the main road climbs up a gentle incline from Newbury, and continues in a South Easterly direction down a rather steeper slope (once called Trundle Hill, a name no longer used) towards Andover.
The endless mode is where the character stands on a 3X3 block level and blocks continue to fall down. If the character stands on all of the blocks on the same floor in endless mode, their energy level is fully restored. More blocks continue to fall up to as many as eight, until the character climbs up every ten floors before the falling blocks ease off for a while. The game is over if the character is either squashed from a falling block with no energy left, or if they stand on a section of blocks that are about to disappear and the character falls off.
The treehouse itself has reappeared beyond the flames and Ig climbs up into the burning tree, enters the treehouse, and finds a wedding party within and Merrin awaiting him. Sometime later, Terry is recuperating from his snakebite, believing (thanks to the influence of Ig's horns) that Eric and Lee killed Ig by burning him in his car, and that the two then tortured Terry with a venomous snake, before they killed each other. Although the detective doubts that this story is true, Terry is the only living witness. Terry goes to the woods to have some peace of mind and is joined by Glenna.
A scene where Hugo is shocked three times by telephone wires and climbs up a brick wall to find, through a window, a man changing channels on a television was cut from the dub. Another scene where Rita spits at the floor where Hugo is standing as a sign of displeasure was also cut. The dub also toned down the original's language and removed some of Izabella's racial remarks about an Indian character, and the scene near the end of the film when Izabella becomes insane with her obsession was cut. In the second film, most edits were limited to dialogue alterations, but two scenes where Conrad is seen grabbing the buttocks of Sensuella/Barbie Turner were cut.
Bayview was determined by geography, with railway lines running along the level ground parallel to the northern shore of Lake Ontario increasingly constrained by the Niagara Escarpment as they approach the western end of the lake. There are three major railway lines operated by the Canadian National Railway (CN) which intersect at Bayview: ;CN/Metrolinx Oakville Subdivision : The three-track Oakville Subdivision runs from Bayview east to Union Station in downtown Toronto, passing through the town of Oakville. It runs parallel to the lakeshore. ;CN Dundas Subdivision :The double-track Dundas Subdivision runs from Bayview west to London, passing through the town of Dundas, immediately west of Bayview, as it climbs up the Niagara Escarpment.
Access to the station is from the footbridge alongside Tanners Lane, down the steps on the left of the ticket office. Standing on the platform looking towards the track, the 1957 carriage sidings can be seen behind the Up platform. To the left the line climbs up towards Churston railway station, while to the right, beyond Tanners Lane bridge, can be seen the Network Rail carriage sidings for Paignton, and on the sea side of the track, a siding used by the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway to store engineers equipment. A large car park is situated on the far side of the line by the main road from Paignton to Brixham.
U.S. Route 209 climbs up inside the V-shaped gully of the westernmost of these from the beginning terminus junction with PA-54 within downtown Nesquehoning up over the ridge to the headwaters region of the Panther Creek Valley across the Nesquehoning Ridge drainage divide into the valley formed with Pisgah Ridge. Part of the waters are pooled in Lake Hauto above the Hauto Dam in the Hamlet of Hauto, near where the historically important Hauto Tunnel serviced the many coal breakers of Lansford, Coaldale, and historic Summit Hill. The Lehigh Valley Railroad and the Central Railroad of Pennsylvania (CNJ), both Class I railroads ran trackage up slope to cross north and west over the mountain ridges.
Eventually a narrow, unimproved road one mile long that climbs up a ridge and terminates at the hilltop crash site was built to assist in salvage operations; it can still be seen in current aerial photos. Pilot Henry "Hank" Fitzpatrick, a veteran with over 11,000 hours experience, was initially blamed for flying too low due to misreading the approach chart for McCarran International, but an investigation years later showed that the chart was marked in a non-standard, and possibly confusing, manner. Some heirs of the crash victims sued the publisher of the chart, but before a verdict was reached in the wrongful death lawsuit the chart company, Jeppesen, agreed to pay the plaintiffs US$490,000.
He led the Mountaineers on climbs up Mt. Rainier and organized a committee within the club to deal with the Mt. Rainier National Park. Curtis said: > One comes more intimately in touch with the mountains when he travels the > trails. In the valleys the forests seem lower, the giant trees rise from > one's side to tremendous heights and the lower growth reaches out a friendly > hand to bid you welcome; but it is on the untrodden mountain heights that > the traveler receives a true reward for his toil. Here where vegetation > makes its last stand amid a world of ice and snow, with the lower world > stretching away to the distant horizon, nature unfolds in all her beauty.
Hairpin turns are often built when a route climbs up or down a steep slope, so that it can travel mostly across the slope with only moderate steepness, and are often arrayed in a zigzag pattern. Highways with repeating hairpin turns allow easier, safer ascents and descents of mountainous terrain than a direct, steep climb and descent, at the price of greater distances of travel and usually lower speed limits, due to the sharpness of the turn. Highways of this style are also generally less costly to build and maintain than highways with tunnels. On occasion, the road may loop completely, using a tunnel or bridge to cross itself at a different elevation (example on Reunion Island: ).
Tired of waiting for help, Jerry orders Millie to take Marge, Riley, Walker and their sons out to the docks, while he and Hardiman will try to finish off the pack. While Hardiman waits quietly in Jerry's Jeep, Jerry lures the mongrel and the remainder of his pack into the house. As soon as the dogs are all inside, Hardiman closes the door behind them, pours several bucketloads of gasoline on the walls and sets the house on fire with a torch. Jerry then climbs up the ladder to the attic and tries to raise it to prevent the dogs from following him, but the mongrel leaps on top of the ladder and manages to reach the top.
Now, some years later, he has become a social misfit and the authorities are in the process of removing his daughter Malin from his custody. As Beck and his team close in on Eriksson he climbs up on the roof of the apartment building where he lives in central Stockholm, bringing with him both an automatic rifle and a sharpshooter's rifle. He starts to fire at any policeman and police vehicle he can spot, picking off several policemen. When the police commissioner decides to bring in the anti-terrorist units, including two police helicopters, Eriksson shoots up one of the helicopters such that it crashes on a crowded plaza near the building where he resides.
Fishguard North East ward includes the other half of the historic upper town core, and an area of 20th-century housing known as Penyraber, beside the cliffs of Saddle Point. It also includes the steep slopes of the Lower Town area and the quayside of the picturesque old harbour. The harbour and Lower Town were the location used by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor for the 1972 film of Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood. The ward also includes the headland east of the town, where the A487 Fishguard to Bangor Trunk Road runs north-east out of Fishguard with sharp bends and steep gradients as it climbs up to the cliff top near Castle Point.
Waltzes from Vienna begins with the sound of a fire brigade horn and the clip- clop of horses’ hooves, as the firemen race towards a fire at Ebezeder's Café. Upstairs from the café, Resi and Schani are oblivious to the danger, lost in a love duet that concludes with Schani telling Resi that he has dedicated his newest song to her. At the same time, Schani's music attracts the attention of the Countess Helga von Stahl, who is shopping in the dressmaker's store next door. Schani and Resi's romantic interlude is interrupted by Leopold, a baker in Resi's father's café who is in love with Resi, as he awkwardly climbs up the ladder to save her.
The most important festival in Gumbsweiler is held to be the kermis (also locally known as the Kerb), which is held on the fourth Sunday in August and lasts three days. The kermis is the time of the Straußbuwe and Straußmäd ("bouquet lads" and "bouquet lasses"; these two words are dialectal), who spend weeks beforehand binding the "bouquet" together. A parade opens this village festival, led by a band, itself followed by the Straußbuben (standard High German for Straußbuwe) bearing the huge Strauß ("bouquet"). The Straußpfarrer ("bouquet pastor", but not a real clergyman) climbs up a ladder and delivers the Straußrede ("bouquet speech"), which covers amusing things that have happened in the village, all in rhyme.
This species is found in woodlands of all kinds, but where it overlaps with the short-toed treecreeper in western Europe it is more likely to be found in coniferous forests or at higher altitudes. It nests in tree crevices or behind bark flakes, and favours introduced giant sequoia as nest sites where they are available. The female typically lays five or six pink-speckled white eggs in the lined nest, but eggs and chicks are vulnerable to attack by woodpeckers and mammals, including squirrels. The Eurasian treecreeper is insectivorous and climbs up tree trunks like a mouse, to search for insects which it picks from crevices in the bark with its fine curved bill.
The Hochkalter massif lies west of the Watzmann massif and, like it, is located within the Berchtesgaden National Park. The Hochkalter mountains are divided into sub-groups known as the Hochkalter Group (Hochkalter-Gruppe), Hocheis Group (Hocheis-Gruppe) and Southern Wimbach Chain (Südliche Wimbachkette). The most important base for climbing this alpenstock is the German Alpine Club's Blaueis Hut (Blaueishütte, literally "Blue Ice Hut") which lies at a height of in the Blaueis Cirque (Blaueiskar) below the Blaueis, the most northern glacier in the Alps. Other mountain huts are the Bergheim Hirschbichl for the Hocheis Group, the Wimbachgries Hut (Wimbachgrieshütte) for climbs up the eastern flanks of the massif and the Ingolstädter Haus for the Southern Wimbach Chain.

"One Jump Ahead" takes place as Aladdin and his pet monkey Abu causes havoc in the square and acts like a street rat. Aladdin is caught stealing a loaf of bread, and Razoul and the palace guards chase him through the streets of Agrabah, while Aladdin tells the audience that he must steal in order to survive. While dodging Razoul and the palace guards, Aladdin climbs up buildings, ducks behind street performers, swings into a harem, and even attracts the attention of some of the street ladies of Agrabah. The reprise of the song takes place immediately after when he starts to question what his life has become and if there is a better future for him.
From the intersection with Fed. 23, Fed. 36 climbs up into a chain of coastal mountains to the west. The graded and paved road passes first through Cienega de Salpica el Agua, Durango, at 25.026032 -105.760208, and then Cienega de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Durango at 25.065278 -106.329167, and then extends past a turn off (at 25.142227 -106.452685) of a rough, dusty ungraded side road to Topia, Durango, after which the paved and graded road continues to the crest of the Sierra Madre Occidental, and then continues down the west side of the range, passing a side road to Caneles, Durango at 25.105064 -106.554766, and continues on for before coming to a dead end.
The trail stays on the west side of the ridgeline, following an abandoned rail bed that once crossed the mountain. Leaving the rail bed at Route 211, the trail passes through a state forest parcel and crosses into Sullivan County where it passes through the Bashakill Wildlife Management Area. The trail reaches the village of Wurtsboro, then climbs back up to the ridgecrest and mostly follows it, as it works its way into Ulster County. The trail briefly follows an old dirt turnpike which runs parallel to and below NY 52 as it descends toward South Gully, then climbs up to Sam's Point through the South Gully, following South Gully Brook at times.
Immediately east of the Vogelsang is the Grafling Saddle (Graflinger Paßsenke), which follows the valleys of the Kollbach and Teisnach rivers from Gotteszell in the north to Grafling in the south. It is the most prominent gap in the Anterior Bavarian Forest and is crossed by the Bundesstraße 11 which climbs up to a height of 583.7 m. Immediately to the east of the pass are the Riegel Mountains (Riegelbergen) with the Einödriegel (1,121 m) to the north and the Breitenauriegel (1,116 m) to the south of the highest point of the Anterior Bavarian Forest. South of it and separated by the state road, St 2135, is a chain of summits, the Hausstein Mountains (Haussteinberge) and Leopoldswald, running eastwards.
The other road starts from Manali and after crossing the high Rohtang Pass to reach Gramphoo where it joins the road from Keylong and proceeds south along Chandra River till Batal then climbs up to cross the high Kunzum pass, enters the Spiti valley to reach Kaza. It remains closed during winter months, normally from October end to June due to heavy snowfall on both the passes. Kaza is the one of the coldest towns in India. The temperature varies greatly in a different seasons and during a day, January is the coldest month of the year with an average temperature of -25 °C,while July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 10 °C.
The child was born wielding a conga-scepter (a flyswatter made with a buffalo tail on a wooden handle), an adze-axe, and a bag of the fortune goddess Kahonbo containing a long rope. Shemwindo soon learns of the birth and tries to kill the boy in several ways. First he throws seven consecutive spears, which were all repelled by Mwindo's conga-scepter; second he tries to bury his son alive, but Mwindo simply climbs up during the night; and finally he seals the boy inside a drum and throws it by a nearby river. Unsurprisingly, the drum surfaces and floats but Mwindo decides to sail away, to seek refuge with his paternal aunt Iyangura.
If they don't retrieve the object, the section of blocks disappear. If the character stands on a multi-color flash block, their energy level is restored by as much as half of the energy meter displayed on the left of the game screen. To get better viewing angles, the player can rotate the cube tower 90 degrees in either direction, or looking at the tower from above, to let the player see where the character is going and if any cubes will be falling in that section, or if there are no cubes in one section. The game is cleared when the character climbs up ten floors and the score only counts when the ten floors are cleared.
The story opens with several hens mothering their chicks in an ideal suburban fashion: taking them on walks and bragging to fellow hens about their exploits. One of the hens jokingly tells Miss Prissy that she is lucky not to have chicks to look after, then Prissy overhears a group of hens saying that she will "never land a man" because she is "too much of a D-R- I-P." This depresses Prissy, who then climbs up on to the roof of the barn. Meanwhile, Foghorn is seen preparing to attack the dog with a board from a picket fence when he sees Prissy jump from the top of the barn.
The main terminus of the line is at (originally known as King's Station, after a local landowner), where the railway's administrative headquarters and the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum are located. Leaving this station the line passes immediately under the A493 Machynlleth to Dolgellau road and enters a long cutting that climbs towards . From Pendre, the railway climbs up to Ty Mawr bridge and on to Hendy, the first of five minor halts, which serves the adjacent farm. More local halts follow at Fach Goch, and Cynfal, the latter having a small platform.Potter, page 226 The section from Cynfal to was relaid in 1951 using rail purchased from the Corris Railway after the latter line's closure in 1948.
After leaving the former Bristol and Exeter Railway station at Exeter St Davids, the line crosses the River Exe and then passes through the southern margin of Exeter along a stone viaduct. Once out in the countryside it follows the Exe southwards down to Dawlish Warren, passing at the edge of rocky cliffs through short tunnels and the longer Parson's Tunnel to Teignmouth. Here turning west it follows the north bank of the River Teign to Newton Abbot, where the company's workshops were located. Beyond Newton Abbot the main line climbs up a sustained gradient of 1 in 36 (2.78%) at the steepest point to a summit at Dainton Tunnel, then falling for gradients nearly as steep to cross the River Dart at Totnes.
Siurana is a village of the municipality of the Cornudella de Montsant in the comarca of Priorat, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. Located just outside the Montsant region, it is just east of main town of the municipality Cornudella de Montsant and consists of a small village at the top of an escarpment in the Prades Mountains overlooking the Siurana Reservoir and is often visited by tourists to the area for its historical relevance, rock climbing conditions, and excellent views of the Reservoir and surrounding valley. Cliffs around the village are popular among climbers due to the abundance of excellent climbs up to grade 9b.Planet Mountain - Siurana The development of Siurana as one of the world's best climbing destinations has been attributed to Toni Arbones.
The Queen rejoices in her victory, but is soon discovered by the angry Seven Dwarfs, who grab pickaxes and chase her deep into the forest as a great storm begins. She climbs up into the mountains, where she gets trapped upon a precipice that overlooks a seemingly bottomless canyon. She tries to push down a large boulder to crush the approaching Dwarfs. Before she can do so, a lightning bolt strikes between her and the boulder, destroying the precipice and sending the Queen (along with the boulder) down the cliff to her death, screaming while she falls to the jagged rocks below (this scream was later reused in Sleeping Beauty when Maleficent is stabbed in the heart by the Sword of Truth).
From Dundry there is a northerly loop to Leigh Court at Abbots Leigh where Charles II stayed on the night of 12 September 1651. The path then returns to Dundry and heads turns south to Winford and passes Regil before passing between Chew Valley Lake and Blagdon Lake to Compton Martin,Landranger Map 182: Weston-super-Mare. Published in 2005 by the Ordnance Survey where it climbs up into the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, passing East Harptree before entering the Forestry Commission plantation Stock Hill. On leaving the woods the path skirts the Priddy Mineries and Priddy Pools Site of Special Scientific Interest and continues south to Wookey Hole before entering the city of Wells, where it passes the Cathedral and Bishop's Palace.
The southern section of the Seefelder Straße (B 177), runs up the southern slopes and across the eastern side of the Zirler Berg. This road section is also called the Zirlerbergstraße. The Seefelder Straße is oriented mainly in a south to north direction and climbs up the mountain from the Inn valley from Zirl (622 m) with a gradient of up to 16% heading for Leithen (1,010 m) and then continues through Reith, Auland and over the Seefeld Saddle (1,185 m) about 4 km (as the crow flies) northwest of the Zirler Berg to Seefeld. Between Zirl and Leithen the road climbs 388 metres in less than 4 km, and continues to climb, albeit less steeply, as it makes its way towards the Seefeld Saddle.
The entire segment is long. The separated sections, which are some apart at the furthest and over which the autobahn rises or descends , lie between Mühlhausen im Täle and Hohenstadt, where there is an emergency access road. North of Mühlhausen, traffic southbound from Aichelberg, where the first viaduct is located, climbs up the north-west- facing slope of the Swabian Alps, known as the Albtrauf, crosses the long Mustobel Viaduct and travels a further through a mountain valley and the valley of the Winkelbach to the upper reaches of the River Fils, descending approximately near Gruibingen. The southbound carriageway is long, crossing the Fils northeast of Mühlhausen and then climbing to the long Todsburg Bridge, which skirts the Steinbühl ( above sea level) near the Todsburger Höhle cave.
After peaking, the road descends into Arthur's Pass village with the railway line emerging from the Otira Tunnel nearby. After the village, the road and rail line runs along the Bealey River valley and crosses the Waimakariri River before veering left and running parallel to both the river and the rail line on the opposite side. Before Cass, the road runs along a bluff and turns right to proceed past some more farmland as well as Lakes Grasmere and Pearson. Castle Hill Village The road then climbs up towards Castle Hill Village and runs through a valley before passing beside Lake Lyndon where it curves left before climbing up towards Porters Pass which, at 939 metres, is the highest point on the road.
The road off to the left is to Glencoe Station (Glencoe Road) and at the end of the Crown Terrace is the Eastburn Road to Eastburn Station. Glencoe Station is the large high country station behind Arrowtown. Eastburn Station is also large and runs from the Glencoe boundary almost to Cardrona, New Zealand. Just past the Eastburn Road the road twists and climbs up to the Crown Saddle, where a bronze plaque at the vista point claims that this historic summit, at 1076 m (3530 ft) is the highest sealed road in New Zealand; officially it is the highest sealed local road, and the highest sealed pass or through road, 2m higher than the Desert Road summit on State Highway 1 in the North Island).
Despite this signage pointing US 26 east on Division Street, traffic already on US 26 is pointed straight along Powell Boulevard (the Mount Hood Highway), in agreement with ODOT's route description.Oregon Department of Transportation, Digital Video Log Oregon Department of Transportation, Descriptions of US and OR Routes (PDF) East of Sandy, the highway is a (mostly) four-lane undivided highway approaching the slopes of Mount Hood; as the highway climbs up towards Government Camp it reduces to two and three lanes. It is four lanes again through Government Camp. East of Government Camp is an interchange with Oregon Route 35, where US 26 heads southeast on the Warm Springs Highway towards Madras and the Mount Hood Highway heads north with Route 35.
Between the chateau and the town centre along the top of the spur is the citadel, protected by the city wall along the top of the cliffs to the west, and by its own inner walls to the south and east. To the east of the citadel and the north of the town centre, the land slopes more gently down a small valley to the river. Running down the middle of this valley can be found the Rue de la Vau Saint-Jaques, a narrow mediaeval street that climbs up from the bridge and gateway of the Porte Saint-Jacques to the centre of town. In time of the pilgrimage, this would have been the main pilgrimage route south through the town, and was occupied by weavers.
Initially relieved and eager to experience their new freedom, the dogs are soon faced not only with the realities of life in the wild but with another more terrifying realization—they are being hunted by their former captors. They come to reluctantly befriend Tod, a Geordie-accented fox, in order to obtain food in the wild - they initially hunt domestic sheep grazing on the local hills. Snitter hopes for a new home as he once had a master, but after accidentally killing a man by stepping onto the trigger of his shotgun as he climbs up onto him, Snitter loses hope. As time passes the two dogs grow emaciated, having to steal more and more food while still avoiding capture.
When rebuilding bridges over the lines from Wembley Park to Harrow for the MS&LR;, seeing a future need the Met quadrupled the line at the same time and the MS&LR; requested exclusive use of two tracks. The MS&LR; had the necessary authority to connect to the Circle at Marylebone, but the Met suggested onerous terms. At the time the MS&LR; was running short of money and abandoned the link. Because of the state of the relationship between the two companies the MS&LR; was unhappy being wholly reliant on the Met for access to London and, unlike its railway to the north, south of Aylesbury there were several speed restrictions and long climbs, up to 1 in 90 in places.
Bugs Bunny is taking his morning shower under a waterfall, singing "April Showers" (à lá Al Jolson) when the water stops flowing. He decides that beavers are responsible and, after a brief delirium that the supply has permanently dried up, climbs up the waterfall to the source of the problem. The source of the problem turns out to be the villainous Blacque Jacque Shellacque, who has built an illegal rock dam in an effort to control the water supply and sell it at inflated prices. Bugs demands for Jacque to explain what gives him the right to build the dam, and Jacque responds "Dees give me ze right!" as he sticks a revolver into Bugs' neck (this exchange is cut out of most commercial showings).
So they use the bean to go to a place called Neverland, holding hands. As they land in Neverland, Malcolm tells his son to imagine a cake, and it appears. He then tells him that in Neverland anyone can fly, but as he attempts to take off, he falls to the ground because he is now a grown-up. Malcolm remembers needing Pixie Dust, but Rumplestiltskin is too scared to climb up the tall trees that have the pixie dust flowers, so Malcolm tells him to wait and he’ll get enough for both. He climbs up and sprinkles some dust on himself, saying “I want to fly,” but just then the shadow comes and mocks him, telling him he doesn’t belong.
At the end of the video, Madonna climbs up the stairs to her lover's room, Rettenmund found references to the music videos for the singles "Like a Virgin" (1984) and "Papa Don't Preach" (1986), both of which had the singer climbing the stairs but never reaching the destination, unlike "Secret". Rettenmund also observed that "Secret" could serve as a follow-up to the music video for "Borderline" with the events happening ten years and Madonna all grownup. He concluded by saying that in lieu of the singer's 1994 interview with The Face magazine, where she expressed her desire to have a family, the video emphasized on Madonna's interest in a partner and a child. It can be found on the Madonna compilations, The Video Collection 93:99 (1999) and Celebration: The Video Collection (2009).
If chased by a dog, it usually climbs up a tree. The historical range of the bobcat was from southern Canada, throughout the United States, and as far south as the Mexican state of Oaxaca, and it still persists across much of this area. In the 20th century, it was thought to have lost territory in the US Midwest and parts of the Northeast, including southern Minnesota, eastern South Dakota, and much of Missouri, mostly due to habitat changes from modern agricultural practices. While thought to no longer exist in western New York and Pennsylvania, multiple confirmed sightings of bobcats (including dead specimens) have been recently reported in New York's Southern Tier and in central New York, and a bobcat was captured in 2018 on a tourist boat in Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
When Kazuya Mishima is five years old, his father Heihachi Mishima, after he killed his mother, carries him to the top of a mountain and callously throws him off a cliff to test his son's strength, whether he is fit to lead the Mishima Zaibatsu, the family business, and to see if he will be able to climb back up the same cliff. Kazuya survives the initial fall, but left a large scar on his chest which causes a demonic entity within him called the Devil Gene to activate, offering Kazuya the opportunity to gain immense strength and power. Driven by his thirst for revenge, he climbs up the mountainside. To further motivate Kazuya, Heihachi adopts the Chinese orphan Lee Chaolan and raises him as a rival to his true son.
Niederstaufenbach lies in the Western Palatinate between the Walbersberg and the Krämel (mountains), on both sides of the Reichenbach in a broad hollow roughly a kilometre and a half up from where the Bosenbach empties into the Reichenbach. The village sits at an elevation of roughly 240 m above sea level between the villages of Oberstaufenbach and Friedelhausen. On the dale’s west side, the ground climbs up steeply to the Potzberg (hill) and to the neighbouring village of Föckelberg. Stretching east of the dale is a somewhat higher mountain ridge (Hertelwald 338 m) between the Reichenbach valley and the Walsbach and Bosenbach valleys. Rising in the south, within neighbouring Oberstaufenbach’s limits, is the mountain Heidenburg, from which the village might have got its name (see Municipality’s name below).
The Dales High Way starts at Saltaire, a World Heritage Site model village in the City of Bradford, West Yorkshire, built by Titus Salt on the River Aire. It climbs up over Ilkley Moor, passing the Twelve Apostles stone circle and the Swastika Stone, and drops down to the outskirts of Addingham before rising to follow high ground south of the A65 road, including Skipton Moor, and then enters the town of Skipton. From here it passes through Flasby and Hetton and crosses the inlet to Winterburn Reservoir before climbing to cross the watershed between Wharfedale and Airedale and drop to the bridge below Gordale Scar. It rises to the limestone pavement above Malham Cove, where it crosses the Pennine Way and continues across Kirkby Fell on the way to Settle.
It then climbs up to Wilkens Avenue, utilizing its sidewalk to move west across the Gwynns Falls to a crosswalk. The route then travels north, meeting Frederick Avenue and travelling east across its bridge over the Gwynns Falls and Hanover Subdivision once again, using either the bike lanes or the sidewalk. Just past the bridge, it continues north on its own alignment once more, which, after entering the wooded area, widens significantly as it utilizes a section of Ellicott Driveway, a street built in 1917 and since closed to motor vehicles. The Trail crosses Baltimore Street to utilize a path beside it, passing underneath the large arch bridge carrying the Amtrak Northeast Corridor, before the trail exits onto its own alignment once more, continuing to utilize Ellicott Driveway.
Mainz held the small castle town until the French conquest in the late 18th century. High jurisdiction is one of the most prominent features of mediaeval and even early-modern lordly power, with the gallows as its hallmark. Hence, it is to be understood that the execution places were to be set up in such exposed, widely visible spots as the Galgenberg ("Gallows Mountain") near Neu- Bamberg, which climbs up steeply right behind the Weidenmühle (mill) on the road going towards Wonsheim. The surroundings up at the hilltop where the gallows stood gives the same grim impression that came to mind when people who lived centuries ago thought of such places: bare, infertile land covered only in sparse grass, above which here and there only scanty shrubs grew.
He suggests that when hiding on the Aurora, Philippus can be compared to The Phantom of the Opera, as he steals a stick of dynamite and climbs up the ship's mast before threatening to detonate the weapon. Apostolidès believed that the shooting star itself is "more a religious mystery than a scientific one" and that Tintin is therefore "the perfect one to figure it out in some religious way—that is, unrealistically". Apostolidès analysed the political component of the story in terms of "the incarnation of unregulated capitalism against the spirit of European values", arguing that Hergé was adhering to "a utopian vision that, in 1942, smacks of pro-German propaganda". Literary critic Tom McCarthy believed that The Shooting Star represents the apex of the "right-wing strain" in Hergé's work.
From Hartfell looking west to the great bowl among the hills that is the Devil's Beef Tub (in sunlight) with Annanhead to the right of the picture above the Beef Tub. The M74 and main west coast rail line corridor lies in the valley beyond that and the Lowther hills are in the distance. The lush green valley of the river Annan (Annandale) is in the left foreground and the A701 climbs up from left to right above this valley from Moffat town to Annanhead, Tweedsmuir and, eventually, Edinburgh. The classic route here is to park at Annanhead above the Devil's Beef Tub (room for several vehicles there) and walk up over Annanhead Hill, Great Hill and Chalk Rig Edge to Whitehope Heights, a route which goes round the top of the Beef Tub.
Veronica refers to the creatures as her children, and aims to make them learn how to hunt human prey; to this goal, she has coaxed Bernard into helping her find fresh victims, which are usually junkies. Following another attack, Amber and Susie are separated; Amber manages to pin down and interrogate one of the creatures, a young man who admits he's never hunted before, and tells Amber that Veronica is not their actual mother but she nonetheless takes care of them. In the end, Amber ends up surrounded by dozens of the creatures and by Veronica herself; trying to escape, she suddenly climbs up a wall in the same way the creatures do. Confused and frightened, she's recognized by Veronica as one of them, a "late bloomer" who was abducted by mistake.
Kumali is the second of two "Shenlin" SLC installations from Vekoma, the first opened four years earlier at Happy Valley Shenzhen. The layout has since been reproduced by Chinese manufacturers. The train climbs up a 117ft lift hill and drops to the right 111ft and goes straight into the first inversion, a vertical loop (1 inversion) then slightly banks right then straight again ready for the next two inversions, a cobra roll (2 inversions) then once out the cobra roll it goes straight into a zero g roll (1 inversion) then does a 360-degree helix to the right and hits the brake run before turning right into another brake run and finally turns right into the station ready to unload/load again. In total it has 4 inversions.
Set in a fictional world where magic is used, Mikaze is sent by the two elders of his village to ask the 3 great immortal magicians to help his village from being overtaken by a large fungi called the Yamakuidake (Mountain eating Mushroom). So he starts his quest and climbs up the mountain that the Three Magicians live on to ask but upon meeting the 3 Magicians he learns that the other two are gone and he is left with Aqua, a young girl who uses candy as a wand. Eventually they strike an agreement, she will go and help his village as long as he brings her back safe and sound to the mountain afterwards. The only problem is that as a sign of their agreement he has to wear a mask until the agreement is fulfilled.
This area was also historically important regional rail transport. The southern access point is just off exit 74 of Interstate 476 via U.S. Route 209 through Jim Thorpe and across the bridge to the north bank on Pennsylvania Route 903 to the Glen Onoko neighborhood, formerly East Mauch Chunk the left bank or northern part of the borough of Jim Thorpe. This access point is on the opposite bank from the Glen Onoko nature and hiking trail which climbs up slope westerly alongside the tributary descending Glen Onoko Falls giving the eponymous name to that region of the lower gorge, whilst the Lehigh descends through several sharp curves before reaching the slack water elevation of Nesquehoning Junction between Jim Thorp and Nesquehoning. The two railroad lines which competed for trade along the Lehigh diverge to run on opposite shores at this entrance.
Determined not to let this happen again, Wile E. climbs up a very high escarpment and surveys his surroundings for the Road Runner...who happens to have pulled up right behind him and now beeps such that the coyote falls back down. The camera zooms in on an obviously miffed Wile E. as he falls to the ground again. Dusting himself off, the coyote gets up and walks out onto the road until the Road Runner beeps a second time and sends his rival directly into a low-slung rock plateau. 1\. As he hasn't studied it enough, Wile E. follows the instructions of THE ART OF ROAD-RUNNER TRAPPING: # Dig hole in road # Camouflage hole # Wait patiently # Eat Road Runner However, he never gets past the first step, as his jackhammer vibrates enough to pull the coyote into the hole.
An example of this is on the M5 motorway as it climbs up the side of the Gordano Valley south of Bristol. In Birmingham and many other cities, suburban dual carriageways may have trees or cycle lanes in the middle as a wide central reservation. Two examples on the UK road network where the carriageways are several hundred yards/metres apart, are on a section of the M6 between Shap and Tebay, which allows a local road to run between them, and on the M62 where the highest section through the Pennines famously splits wide enough to contain a farm.Google Maps The other major exception is the A38(M) Aston Expressway, which is a single carriageway of seven lanes, where the median lane moves to account for traffic flow (a system known as tidal flow or reversible lane).
Lemei Rock in the Indian Heaven Wilderness Visitor and Location Map Fishing and hiking destinations in the volcanic field around Lemei Rock include the Indian Heaven Wilderness, which is known for the high mountain meadows among its scattered volcanic peaks. The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail passes north/south through the volcanic field and the Indian Heaven Wilderness, which is known for its lakes and views of four nearby volcanoes: Mount Adams, Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Rainier. Major trails at Lemei Rock are the Lemei Trail, which climbs up the east side of Lemei Rock; and Wapiki Trail, which descends from the Lemei Trail to the deep blue Wapiki Lake, the "crater lake" of Lemei Rock. The Filloon Trail departs from the rustic Little Goose Campground and meets up with Lemei Trail before Lake Comcomly.
Created by skaters, for skaters, it is considered within the skateboarding community to be an excellent park with endless speed lines. The park has several "areas", including the core park that lies under the aforementioned overpass, the neighboring and connecting pool section, and a mini ramp and vert ramp. South Philadelphia's FDR Skate Park has been described by professionals and in magazine articles such as Thrasher and Skateboarder to be a concrete, skateboard 'paradise', as it was designed and built by skateboard enthusiasts. The original core of the park includes features like the "Bunker," a ; the "Dome," a wall of concrete that climbs up into a burly overhang next to the Bunker with brick coping and provides privacy from the road; a 6 ft patch of humps called the "Amoeba", this park provides a challenge for skaters of all skill levels, even professionals.
There is also a route from Clapham that follows the Ingleborough Estate nature trail, before passing the Craven Fault, the showcave of Ingleborough Cave, the ravine of Trow Gill and the pothole of Gaping Gill. It then crosses a marshy area and climbs up to the shoulder of Little Ingleborough before following the ridge to the summit. The return to Clapham can be varied by taking the Horton- in-Ribblesdale path for before striking south through more limestone pavement to the small top of Norber; a descent past the famed Norber erratics (Norber Boulders) finishes a walk of that Wainwright considered the finest walk in the Yorkshire Dales. An alternative route from the south-west side of the triangle starts at Newby Cote, roughly a mile northwest of Clapham on the minor road heading towards Ingleton.
The Jones Falls Trail then turns west onto Lanvale Street, following the south sidewalk, although the street also possesses sharrows and the one- way section east of Charles Street has a contraflow bike lane. After crossing Maryland Avenue, the Jones Falls Trail follows Falls Road's sidewalk into the Jones Falls Valley, passing underneath the bridges Howard Street and North Avenue use to cross the valley. After passing the Baltimore Streetcar Museum, the Trail returns to the west side of the road, separated from MD 25 by a reverse barrier and trees, running right against the bank of the Jones Falls. This alignment continues until it passes underneath the 29th Street Bridge the Trail then climbs up a relatively steep grade, crosses the street once more, and rises out of the valley on a switchback, joining Wyman Park Drive.
On the Jurassic Coast between Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton Crossing the river by ferry or the long Shaldon Bridge brings walkers to Teignmouth, beyond which the coast path follows the South Devon Railway sea wall to Hole Head where the Parson and Clerk rocks look out to sea. Passing beneath the railway, the path climbs up to the main road, which it follows for a few yards before turning back towards the cliff top (in stormy weather the sea wall is too dangerous and this road must be followed most of the way from Teignmouth). Entering Dawlish along a now by- passed toll road, the coast path descends back to the level of the railway which it follows to Dawlish Warren, although a slightly more landward route is necessary at high tide. Dawlish Warren is a sand spit and nature reserve that lies at the mouth of the River Exe.

Takhlakh Lake between the Trees The lake is popular for fishing, camping, and photography, often clearly reflecting Mount Adams. Adjacent Takhlakh Lake Campground is administered by the Cowlitz Ranger District of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The popular campground features a boat ramp and wheelchair-accessible Takhlakh Loop Trail #134, which encircles the lake, offering more views of the mountain, and accesses the Takh Takh Meadows Interpretive Trail #136 (foot only) that climbs up into the edge of the Takh Takh Lava Flow and Takh Takh Meadows, offering outstanding views of Mount Adams and its sheer, glaciated northwest face as well as Adams Glacier, the second largest glacier in the contiguous United States. The lake is a very popular summer destination, and can be accessed via Primary Road 23, to Road 5601, and Road 2329 from Trout Lake at the southern side of Mount Adams.
Teignmouth sign The town is located on the north bank of the mouth of the estuary of the River Teign, at the junction of the A379 coast road, the A381 road to Newton Abbot, and the B3192 which climbs up to the A380 on Haldon and hence on to the M5 12 miles away. Teignmouth is linked to Shaldon, the village on the opposite bank, by a passenger ferry at the river mouth and by a road bridge further upstream. The red sandstone headland on the Shaldon side called "The Ness" is the most recognisable symbol of the town from the seaward side. In the harbour area was the Salty, a small flat island created through dredging operations but levelled, supposedly to improve natural scouring of the main channel for shipping, in recent years to leave a large tidal sand bank frequented by seabirds and cockle-collectors.
Today SS4 is a busy road between Rieti and Passo Corese, as it is the main road link between Rieti and Rome; motorists use it to reach the Autostrada A1 in Passo Corese and continue towards Rome in the more modern road. In this trait SS4 has a single, albeit reasonably wide carriageway, which was constructed in the 1960s in place of an earlier, less smooth road. For this reason, Italian Government plans to make SS4 a dual carriageway road between Rieti and Passo Corese, but around 1.5 billion euros are neededCamera dei deputati - Sistema Informativo Legge Opere Strategiche and it is not known when funds will be granted. Uprating of the trait from Cittaducale to Posta, where the carriageway is rather narrow and the road climbs up the Apennine mountains, is also planned to make the carriageway wider and less winding - even if the road will remain with a single carriageway.
While Roger is gone, Herman spies Jessica Rabbit pushing a cart of milk bottles and gives chase, eventually following a runaway milk bottle into the emergency room where Roger is strapped to the table while the surgeons had disappeared for a lunch break. Herman mistakes a large surgical laser for a bottle and climbs up onto it, nearly dissecting Roger in the process. The laser detaches itself from the ceiling and flings a table of scalpels and hypodermic needles at Roger, who avoids them, but is electrocuted in the process. The laser flies around the room and lodges itself under Roger's stretcher and sends him and Herman both ejecting from the emergency room and causing Roger to gag up the rattle, and when Baby Herman to again swallow it before crashing into a wheelchair, they then fly down the hall and into an open elevator shaft due to wet floors causing the wheelchair they landed on to skid out of control.
The section of trackbed between Crossways Halt and Llanerchaeron Halt remains partially open as a footpath, whilst the section beyond Llanerchaeron Halt to the entrance to the former Aberayron goods yard and engine shed is now a well used gravelled cycle path linking the town of Aberaeron with the National Trust property at Llanerchaeron. The former Aberayron engine shed area is now a housing development, whilst the goods yard area is occupied by a Jewson builder's hardware yard. Access to this yard is unusual in that it uses the still-intact double-track railway bridge over the River Aeron which has now been paved. The site of the station platform is adjacent to this bridge and it can be seen that the paved road climbs up to the level of the former platform and descends to track level to cross the river bridge - this change in level of the paved road was kept to assist in flood mitigation.
Besides numerous trail access points from the Dos Vientos Ranch neighborhood, the primary trailhead and parking lot are located at the Dos Vientos Community Park. Following the Park View Trail at the far end of the community park, one can either cross Via Ricardo to access the Powerline Trail (Edison Road Trail) across the road, which leads to the Conejo Mountain, or one can follow Via Ricardo to the left for before entering the Vista Del Mar Trailhead. The Vista Del Mar Trail climbs up the Conejo Hills with overlook points with panoramic views of the Santa Monica Mountains, Boney Peak, Camarillo, Topatopa Mountains, Pacific Ocean, and the Channel Islands. It leads to Twin Ponds, which is two secluded ponds functioning as a designated conservation area for various migrating waterfowl species, birds such as mallards and ducks, freshwater fish species, as well as the western pond turtle and the two-striped garter snake.
She names her 'cat Nimitz (after World War II Admiral Chester W. Honor is known to the treecats as "Dances on Clouds" for her frequent climbs up into the Copperwall Mountains overlooking her parents' house to launch a hang glider with Nimitz on her back. Lower Town Fishguard Conservation Area: Lower Town is thought to be oldest of the three settlements, growing up around the old harbour. The 2016 conservation area appraisal affirms the maritime history and coastal landscape as key significant features, and the resulting narrow streets, quayside buildings, constrained building plots and separation from the rest of Fishguard give it the picturesque value that the conservation area management plan seeks to protect and enhance. The conservation area is and covers the quay and hillside to the north, along the Gwaun valley, and adjoins the Fishguard Conservation Area where the main road climbs up from lower to upper town Fishguard Conservation Area (upper town): The special characteristics identified in the 2016 appraisal included the dramatic coastal setting, the mix of buildings from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, the marketplace with radial streets, historic shop fronts, narrow streets and alleyways and the extreme topography separating the upper and lower towns. The town had a medieval origin and Norman castle, but its prosperity increased as fishing and coastal trade increased through the 17th and 18th centuries.
One may continue from Coire Gabhail (the hidden valley), reaching the main ridge by means of a zig- zag path that climbs up the flank of Gearr Aonach to cliffs at the head of the corrie, and a patch of scree at the bealach up to the ridge. From here, turn left to climb Stob Coire Sgreamhach which lies only about 0.5 km to the southeast, or right up along the cliff edge towards the summit of Bidean. Other routes include ascending Stob Coire nan Lochan and then using the connecting ridge to reach the main summit, or ascending via the Allt Coire nam Beitheach and following either branch of this burn to reach the main ridge either side of the subsidiary peak of Stob Coire nam Beith, which lies about a kilometre to the west of the main summit. All of the above routes start from Glen Coe and go through the corries running between the Three Sisters, and may thus be combined to allow a traverse of the mountain.
Roger Tottenhill is the man who is elected by the Continental Congress in The Continental Risque to replace Ezra Rumstick as first lieutenant aboard the USS Charlemagne. He is used, just as Lieutenant James Pendexter was in the first book, by Amos Hackett, a fellow North Carolina-man, who is intent on dividing the crew of the Charlemagne. They first became allies when Hackett, in a fit of anger, knocked the lieutenant to the deck and Tottenhill has him lashed twenty-four times with the cat o' nine tales, then realises he has made a mistake in turning against another Southerner and brings the suffering Hackett a bottle of whisky to ease his sufferings. Lieutenant Tottenhill, after unconsciously undermining Captain Biddlecomb's authority and dueling Ezra Rumstick to see who was better suited to be first lieutenant aboard the Charlemagne, finally met his end at the hands of his "ally," Amos Hackett, who, after leading a semi-mutiny aboard the American man-o-war, climbs up into the rigging and shoots the lieutenant before himself being shot by Elisha Faircloth.
One clerk goes down to oblivion on the end of a rope, the other climbs up the ladder of success in his small world. In both the work of accountancy gives insights into the corruption Tilsley sees as being at the heart of society, which might turn out either way for the individual who chooses to follow its selfish logic, though neither The Plebeian’s Progress nor I’d Do It Again present this dilemma in a narrowly political manner. The central character of the latter novel seems to have more than a little in common with the sort of ‘anti-hero’ of 1950s working-class writing, the cynical, anarchistical rebel, out for number one. The success of I’d Do It Again was followed by the publication of a version of the novel of Tilsley’s which had been rejected by Gollancz, this time completely re-written, under the title of Devil Take The Hindmost, about two boys armed with a sort of autocratic Socialist conviction who determine to conquer the world together but who in life enjoy contrasting fortunes and end as sworn enemies.
Gdańska Street is 7.3 kilometers long, with a 2 km long stylish houses section, and 1.5 km away to the north the city's barracks and the forest district. In fact the 3.8 km long stretch of road located north of the railway viaduct has a completely different character from the urbanized one, between Gdańsk forest and the Culture and Leisure Forest Park. On the northern outskirts of the city, the street climbs up the 45-meter high Fordoński rising. Along Gdańska street one will find: three churches; four museums (District museum, Pharmacy museum, Museum of the Army and Sports museum); concert halls (Academy of Music, "Club Mózg") and the seat of Radio PIK; the oldest hotel of the city (Hotel "Pod Orlem"); one of the oldest department stores, the Department Store "Jedynak" built on the like of Berlin and Paris department stores at the beginning of the 20th century; landscape architecture, including "Marian Rejewski on a bench" and "The Wanderer", as well as two sculptures created with dead trees Woman in pigeons at No.30 and As soon as we play at the intersection of Gdańska St. and Słowacki Street.
Bilin Bilin Ancestor Panel describing the burial of his wife, Nellie Yugambeh informants elude to one of more souls, one that lingers at the grave, another that upon death "climbs up to Balugan" in the land of the dead, a third associated with a person's sacred site- djurebil, and possibly the moggai (mokwi), which may have been a distinct spiritual entity haunting the grave and the place of death. Human remains were considered sacred, and burial sites were kept clear of out of respect. Great attention was paid to avoid disturbing previous burials, however if this was to occur, it was imperative to treat the remains with the appropriate respect and ceremony. Burial was a two-staged process, the first of which involved wrapping the body in paper bark and later a blanket tied with a possum-fur string, and temporary interring them within a white ant's nest for a designated time, after which the body was retrieved and a family member, typically the widow of the deceased, would travel with the body during a period of mourning after which they were permanently interred.
Pavilion gets its name from its gold rush-era appearance, when the chief of the Tskwaylaxw flew a large banner of white cloth which was visible to travelers up and down the canyon on the River Trail and the Old Cariboo Road (the white banner was a mark of a "friendly Indian" in the context of the then-recent Fraser Canyon War farther south along the Fraser, and also maybe a mark of wealth, cloth being an expensive trade good at the time). During the gold rush, a small boomtown emerged at Pavilion, as it was an important junction between the Old Cariboo Road, which from Pavilion climbs up over Pavilion Mountain to Cut-off Valley to Clinton, British Columbia, and the trail (soon after road) through Marble Canyon to the Bonaparte River and what would become the route of the Cariboo Road. In addition to miners' huts and packtrain encampments, by the time of the Cariboo Gold Rush lands had been alienated by settlers and the ranchhouses served as hostelries to Cariboo-bound travellers. The ranches at Pavilion are some of the oldest land-grants in the province.
Currently, from its new beginning just slightly south of the old one, the LP goes over the bridge approach and then a pedestrian bridge over a ramp from the bridge to the Palisades Interstate Parkway. After that, it enters the park along the cliff edges that it will remain in for the next to the state line, running through the woods next to Palisades Parkway at times and even passing through some of its rest stops and parking areas. Once past the stone monument at the state line, it briefly dips back into New Jersey, then moves closer to U.S. Route 9W near Columbia University's Lamont–Doherty Earth Observatory, then heading for Tallman Mountain State Park, where it climbs the eponymous feature, then descends to the trail's lowest elevation, a mere above sea level as it crosses Sparkill Creek on a wooden bridge. Climbing and crossing Route 9W again, it passes through the low hills in and near two county parks as it climbs up toward Blauvelt State Park, then drops into Nyack, where it crosses the New York State Thruway for the first time.
Torrey Memorial on Long Mountain It follows an access road into a parking area, then climbs up Long Mountain to a memorial in honor of and at a favorite view of Raymond H. Torrey, who did much to make the trail possible. Then it heads westward, skirting at times the boundary of the United States Military Academy (West Point) property, crossing NY 293 and following it and later Route 6 closely in neighboring woods until it can finally leave Harriman Park behind and drop down to local roads in the Central Valley area, cross the Thruway again, then along Woodbury Creek on a dirt road to NY 32 and Schunemunk Mountain. On Schunemunk, it ascends some subsidiary knobs with sweeping views of the whole area, and then follows the Jessup Trail southwest, where it passes commanding view across the Moodna and Wallkill valleys, and then drops off to Gonzaga Park, which bring it past the Orange and Rockland Lakes, then across Route 17 to the Heritage Trail. Following this rail trail, it passes many nice wetlands, the Black Dirt Farms in Chester, and through the historic village of Goshen.
With the help of the seven massive stone gates, partly flanked by hexagonal or octagonal towers, the access to the fort is restricted to a narrow pathway which climbs up the steep hill through successive, ever narrower defence passages. The seventh and final gate leads directly into the palace area, which integrates a variety of residential and official structures. Rana Kumbha Mahal, the palace of Rana Kumbha, is a large Rajput domestic structure and now incorporates the Kanwar Pade Ka Mahal (the palace of the heir) and the later palace of the poet Mira Bai (1498–1546). The palace area was further expanded in later centuries, when additional structures, such as the Ratan Singh Palace (1528–1531) or the Fateh Prakash, also named Badal Mahal (1885–1930), were added. Jain temple near Kirti stambha Although the majority of temple structures represent the Hindu faith, most prominently the Kalikamata Temple (8th century), the Kshemankari Temple (825–850) the Kumbha Shyam Temple (1448) or the Adbuthnath Temple (15th–16th century), the hill fort also contains Jain temples, such as Sattaees Devari, Shringar Chauri (1448) and Sat Bis Devri (mid-15th century) Also the two tower memorials, Kirti Stambh (12th century) and Vijay Stambha (1433–1468), are Jain monuments.
