There is currently some controversial use of part of Stoke Park Wood, just outside the area, for 'paintball' and clay pigeon shooting games, with subsequent impact from increased traffic on Stoke Park Road and noise from participants. The area of Stoke Bruene and the grounds of the park became property of the Crown when the Longueville family were forced to surrender it to Henry VIII.

William was educated at independent schools, starting at Jane Mynors' nursery school and the pre- preparatory Wetherby School, both in London. Following this, he attended Ludgrove School near Wokingham, Berkshire, and was privately tutored during summers by Rory Stewart. At Ludgrove, he participated in football, swimming, basketball, clay pigeon shooting, and cross country running. He sat the entrance exam to Eton College and was admitted.

Special variants called aircraft catapults are used to launch planes from land bases and sea carriers when the takeoff runway is too short for a powered takeoff or simply impractical to extend. Ships also use them to launch torpedoes and deploy bombs against submarines. Small catapults, referred to as "traps", are still widely used to launch clay targets into the air in the sport of clay pigeon shooting.

The Laser Clay Shooting System was redesigned in 1974 and was renamed "Mini Laser Clay". This game would be displayed in arcades as opposed to bowling alleys. Mini Laser Clay consisted of two shooting ranges in which up to four players could play simultaneously. Players would pay to shoot ten clay pigeons with two shots per pigeon; players would "pull" each clay pigeon by stepping on a button near their feet.

Singh was a member of the Asiatic Society of India, the National Sports Club of India, the Cricket Club of India, the Western India Automobile Association, the Bombay Natural History Society, the Bombay Flying Club, the Bombay Presidency Golf Club, the Delhi Golf Club, the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (of which he was an honorary life vice-president), the Willingdon Sports Club, and the Royal Wimbledon Golf Club.

Other sports played at Bloxham include squash, athletics, swimming, golf, riding, polo, target shooting, clay pigeon shooting, fives, sailing, cross-country and badminton. The school's main sporting rivals include Stowe School, St Edward's School, Oxford, Warwick School, Rugby School and Magdalen College School, Oxford. Bloxham participates annually in the NatWest Schools Cup for rugby union. Bloxham has recently won national titles in shooting, polo and riding, and regional titles in rugby, hockey and sailing.

Kingseat Fieldsporters Club meeting regularly in the Kingseat woods during summer for clay pigeon shooting. They were formed on the 13th of August 1986 by a small band of enthusiasts at Kingseat Hospital. The club has been affiliated to the British Association for Shooting and Conservation since 1989. There are plans to create two football pitches at the south end of Kingseat Avenue (currently fields) but these are yet to be developed.

Ex-convict Larry Nelson (Basehart), paroled from prison after serving nearly half of his thirty-year sentence, has problems finding employment. In 1989 Nordenskiöld married Mariana von Beck (née Mörner). After retirement, Nordenskiöld lived in San Pedro de Alcántara, Spain and later in Stockholm. Nordenskiöld was highly competitive and loved challenges, whether it was hunting, sailing or clay pigeon shooting, and he reached both Swedish championship class and a first prize at the 6 Metre World Cup in Newport Harbour, California. He was a member of the Royal Swedish Yacht Club since 1941.

The clay pigeon floor procedure is a rare maneuver employed to gain political leverage in the United States Senate. The name comes by analogy with the clay target which shatters when hit in skeet shooting. In the procedure, an amendment comprising multiple proposals is shattered by demand of a single Senator into individual components to be discussed separately. By pre- agreement, a vote to limit total debate on the amendment is taken.

Croft represented Great Britain at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He represented England and won a bronze medal in the clay pigeon trap and a silver medal in the trap pairs with Peter Boden, at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Eight years later he represented Scotland in the individual and pairs trap event, at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, New Zealand. Croft also won the 1980 Individual Trap European Shotgun Championships.

Sherri Gallagher was born in 1984 in California USA. Her mother was Nancy Tompkins, and she's the first woman to win the High Power Rifle Championship which was in 1998, her step- father who was Mid Tompkins, has won the honor six times in a row. Gallagher was able to shoot a rifle for the first time at the age of five years. Her step-cousin half removed, Patrick Kelly, is a clay pigeon shooter.

Former members of the Rams Advisory Board, created in 1981, include Lord David Westbury, former Ram and Evangelist Rosey Grier, Maureen Reagan, Henry Mancini, Bob Hope, Danny Thomas, Jane Upton Bell, and former President Gerald Ford among others. Youngblood is involved in helping former NFL players in need by supporting the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund (GGAF). The Gridiron Greats sponsors golf tournaments, autograph signings, memorabilia auctions, clay pigeon shoots and dinners to raise funds for retired players.

Between 1885 and 1888, the old building underwent further restoration, the front was refaced in ashlar, the sash windows replaced with larger mullions. The north side was largely rebuilt including a first floor billiards room. The house was partially demolished in 1969 and 1970 to reduce it to a more manageable size and was sold in 1983. The estate private but corporate events such as simulated game shooting and clay pigeon shooting are held in the grounds.

Lawford's films included A Step Out of Line (1971), Clay Pigeon (1971), and The Deadly Hunt (1971). He recorded a 100-break, the first Australian to do so with clay targets. He later became one of the founders of the Australian Clay Pigeon and Trap Shooting Association (ACPTSA), the predecessor of the current Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA). He served as the patron of ACPTSA from 1936 until his death. In 1939, Mackintosh donated a trophy worth 100 guineas for an international trap tournament, to be contested between teams from Australia and the Home Nations.

Kerwood was born in Cuckfield and her parents are also sports shooters, running Northall Clay Pigeon Club, where Kerwood began shooting at the age of 12. She won her first Commonwealth Gold medal at the age of 15 at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. In 2002, she also won the women's double trap at the Junior European Championship. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the trap event, but did not make the final.

Harper Adams University Clay Shooting Club (HAUSC) is the largest club in the university with over 100 members. The club competes in local competitions, BUCS League, the Countryside Alliance Cirencester Cup Competition and also holds private matches against the Royal Agricultural University and St Andrews University. The HAUSC is consistently placed amongst the most successful shooting clubs in the UK. In 2011 and 2012, the HAUSC won the national title at the BUCS Clay Pigeon Shooting Championships.

Beginning in 1983, Exidy released a series of light gun games, the first and most well known of which was Crossbow. These presented an unusual twist to the light gun genre: the goal is to protect characters walking through the screen by shooting things which are trying to kill the characters. These games were also the first to feature fully digitized sound for all sound effects and music. Other "C" series games include Cheyenne, Combat, Crackshot, Clay Pigeon and Chiller.

He was also an original member of Star Fucking Hipsters, a side project of Leftöver Crack member, Stza. Jamie also joined his brother in Planned Collapse until both brothers left the band. Clay Pigeon, a WFMU DJ who often records conversations with random NYC street people, included a fifteen-minute interview with Jamie on his August 26, 2010, broadcast. In the interview, Jamie revealed that he was living on the streets of New York City and was battling an ongoing drug addiction.

In 1925, while Goodart was in charge, Outdoor Recreation Magazine described the fishing at Grand Rapids as where the "choicest table fish to be found in the river" are located. Goodart organized two baseball teams at the hotel called the Grand Rapids Steppers and the Mount Carmel Boosters that were successful and played teams in the area. With one leg he served as the manager. He organized multiple clay pigeon shooting contests at the hotel and was often a top finisher.

Maharaja Karni Singh ji (21 April 1924 - 6 September 1988) also known as Dr Karni Singh, was from 1950 the last Maharaja of Bikaner State to hold the title of Maharaja of Bikaner, officially, till 1971, when the privy purse and all the royal titles were abolished by the Republic of India. He was also a politician, serving as a member of the Lok Sabha for twenty-five years, from 1952 to 1977, and an international clay pigeon and skeet champion.

"Bonds' clay pigeon had his own shadowy history". Los Angeles Times. He was walked in his next at bat and eventually scored on a fielder's choice. On August 7 at 8:51 PM PDT, at Oracle Park (then known as AT&T; Park) in San Francisco, Bonds hit a 435 foot (133 m) home run, his 756th, off a pitch from Mike Bacsik of the Washington Nationals, breaking the all-time career home run record, formerly held by Hank Aaron.

As of 2018, there are 53 sports clubs and 78 societies affiliated to the union. These range from more traditional sports like rugby, football and hockey, to American football, cheerleading and Ultimate Frisbee, as well as country-based sports such as clay pigeon shooting and horse riding. The societies range from more national movements such as Amnesty International to casual and hobby-based societies such as the chess society or Exploding Fish (improvisational performance). When not being used by the owners and their guests, the lodge is let as serviced holiday accommodation. There is further holiday accommodation in cottages around the estate as well as adjacent to the main lodge. Bob and Jill Lawrence (Leslie Banks and Edna Best), a British couple on a trip to Switzerland with their daughter Betty (Nova Pilbeam), befriend Frenchman Louis Bernard (Pierre Fresnay), who is staying at their hotel. Jill is participating in a clay pigeon shooting contest. She reaches the final but loses to a male sharpshooter, Ramon (Frank Vosper), because at the crucial moment she is distracted by a chiming watch belonging to Abbott (Peter Lorre). He suffered a broken leg against West Bromwich Albion in January 1965 ending his season. During his recovery he spent time fishing for trout in Market Drayton and was a keen clay pigeon shooter. He was also a pipe smoker and became known as 'the pipe- smoking gentleman of English football'. However his relationship with the fans was not that good as after his recovery he refused to resign for the 1965–66 wanting a pay increase, and finally accepted Stoke's offer three weeks later.

In front of them will be the "target area". This is a rectangle 40 meters wide by 25 meters deep and positioned 4 to 5 meters in front of the line of shooters. (If the shooters are numbered 1 to 5, the rectangle will be centered on shooter 3) The target area, a 40 x 25 meter rectangle, should be marked with four flags defining the four corners. Clay targets are thrown by clay pigeon trap machines, of which there must be a minimum of 6.

Thousands of horses, dogs, cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, pigeons and rabbits are involved in competitions in hundreds of classes. With more than 3500 horses taking part, it is the largest light horse section at any county show in the country. Local farm produce including cheeses, meats and homemade preserves are exhibited, with a farmers' market, Women's Institute marquee and floral displays. Other attractions include country pursuits such as falconry, ferreting and clay pigeon shooting as well as demonstrations of cookery and dry stone walling and a motorcycle display team.

Shooting Times magazine is the official journal of both the BASC and the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA). The magazine has a strong link to its past—the current magazine's content would still be familiar to those who picked up the original issue, with the same mix of shooting features, gundog articles and reflections on the wider aspects of countryside life. The magazine has had 18 editors, the current being Patrick Galbraith. The magazine is published weekly and is considered to be the leading shooting publication in Britain.

Skibo Castle Skibo Castle (Scottish Gaelic: Caisteal Sgìobail) is located to the west of Dornoch in the Highland county of Sutherland, Scotland overlooking the Dornoch Firth. Although largely of the 19th century and early 20th century, when it was the home of industrialist Andrew Carnegie, its origins go back much earlier. It is now operated as The Carnegie Club, a members-only residential club, offering members and their guests accommodation in both the castle and estate lodges, a private links golf course and a range of activities including clay pigeon shooting, tennis and horse riding.

The Welsh Target Shooting Federation () (WTSF) is the governing body for shooting sports in Wales. It represents the member bodies of the WTSF--the Welsh Airgun Association (WAA), the Welsh Clay Target Shooting Association (WCTSA), the Welsh Rifle Association (WRA) and the Welsh Small-bore Rifle Association (WSRA)--by promoting and developing shooting sports in Wales. The Welsh Target Shooting Federation is based in Cardiff. The Welsh Clay Target Shooting Association (WCTSA) is the governing body for clay target shooting (also known as clay pigeon shooting) in Wales.

Shotgun cartridges are readily available in gun shops and at shooting grounds, and within limitations as to the shot size and the weight of the shot load are suitable for clay shooting at CPSA affiliated grounds and for use in events coming under CPSA rules. Though home loaded cartridges allow the user to customize the ballistic characteristics of their shells, they are generally not allowed at clay pigeon shooting events unless specified otherwise. The instructions and specifications are printed on the boxes. For clay competition, shot size must not exceed 2.6 mm/English No. 6.

During the colonial era it has been famous for its elephant Races, Clay pigeon shooting and Rugby. During its restoration work another extension was incorporated to facilitate the Billiards, Ladies’ and Committee rooms. Although much was washed away, certain treasures like a war memorial plaque in memory of those members who fell in the Great War between 1914 and 1918 still adorn the club. Also remaining is the elegant teak bar which, as legend recalls, was originally transported by raft down the Kelani River from the Grand Oriental Hotel in Colombo.

He holds the highest average in skeet history, .9972 HOA Average on 5750 targets. In international competition, Todd won the Canadian Open in 1998, the English Open (UK) 2003, and the Australian Nationals in 2008.. Todd won the 2011 New Zealand 12g National Skeet (234/234), National Doubles (98) and O/A High Gun (247). Todd was named the first Master Instructor for the National Skeet Shooting Association, has been trained by the UK’s Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) and is an Honorary Fellow in England’s Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors.

A small farm upon the road that leads in that northerly direction called House of Mulben has also become a tourist attraction by offering such activities as archery, clay pigeon shooting, off-road driving with Land Rover Defenders, zorbing and the chance to fish in a small, private lake. It is one of the few locations within the United Kingdom which cannot receive any broadband services, though provisions have been made by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (through the Digital Scotland programme) to consider upgrading the exchange to provide fibre broadband services.

As a consequence, criticism emerged, and restructuring of the games as well as far-reaching reforms were requested to guarantee their future.

Skeet is one of the three major disciplines of competitive clay pigeon shooting. The others are trap shooting and sporting clays. There are several types of skeet, including one with Olympic status (often called Olympic skeet or international skeet) and many with only national recognition.

Writtle University College Summer Ball The Students' Union also organise the 'Writtle RAG' a long held tradition at the College, the students pick good causes to support, and then raise as much money as possible. This usually involves themed party nights, a BBQ and Moulsham 11 (a pub crawl along Moulsham Street in Chelmsford). The SU has a number of sports teams including; Rugby (men's and women's), football (men's and women's), clay pigeon shooting, hockey (men's, women's and mixed), netball, cricket and climbing. The College owns a number of full size pitches and a recently refurbished fitness centre.

Alpine Fellows at Aldourie Castle, 2014 Aldourie Castle is now classed as the only inhabitable castle on Loch Ness and it is now used primarily for private use castle stays. On site activities include clay pigeon shooting, archery and chartered boat tours. Now a Category A listed building in Scotland, Aldourie Castle underwent extensive restoration work between 2002 and 2010 to restore specialist paintwork, murals and metalwork fixtures throughout the Castle. An Estate Conservation Project started in 2017 to revive the original walled Victorian kitchen garden and surrounding grounds with help from students from the National Trust for Scotland.

Philip Hillier Fussell (born 12 February 1931) played first-class cricket for Somerset in two matches, one in each of the 1953 and 1956 seasons. He was born at Rode, Somerset. A member of the Fussell family which had farming, and brewing interests in and around the village of Rode, Philip Fussell was all- round sportsman who, in addition to cricket, was prominent also in shooting, where he was a champion at clay pigeon shooting, and salmon fishing. He is named in an article published in The Field in 2009 on the 100 "best shots" of all time.

The Ulster Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (UCPSA) is the National Governing Body for Clay Target Shooting in Northern Ireland. The Association is made up of over 1000 individual members plus some 50 clubs, a board of directors, discipline reps and secretary. All the clay shooting disciplines are catered for with local club shoots and also the registered shoots from which competitors are classified, championships are contested and international teams selected. The UCPSA is a constituent member of the ICTSF (International Clay Target Shooting Federation), ICTSC (International Clay Target Shooting Council) and BICTSF (British International Clay Target Shooting Federation).

Briagovo Lake is the site for local hunting clubs pre hunting season with a clay pigeon shooting competition every September close to a Hotel overlooking the lake. There has been recent development of water-motor sports and fishing tourism at this lake and others nearby and on Mechka River. A second dam of the Kajlijka river at Ezerovo forms a sizable lake which is a popular summer spot for local visitors and fishing. Growing from vine-cultivation and wine production in Iskra and Tatarevo villages there has been the development of business tourism related to production and tasting of local wines.

The Titus Trust, a registered charity in the UK, is the successor organisation to Iwerne Trust. It runs evangelical Christian holiday camps for children and young people at independent schools. The camps provide adventure activities including kayaking, climbing, go-karting, sailing, laser clay-pigeon shooting and other activities, while also providing Bible studies and discussion groups on the Christian faith. A former chairman of the Trust abused many boys over a period of years; the Trust was made aware of this in 1982, but did and said nothing until 2013, and apologised and reached a settlement in 2020.

For three days he lived in the farm house, mucked out the cows, tried (And failed) to work with a trained sheepdog and got given his own special tractor. He was also given the task of being an auctioneer at the local livestock market and had an emotional visit to an abattoir. Butler: Gilbert got trained to be Butler for Sir Brooke Boothby of Fonmon Castle, helping him host a large dinner party for his friends and assisting him clay pigeon shooting. Tattooist: Gilbert was determined to tattoo a real person and along the way ended up getting a tattoo of his own design and his nipple pierced.

The same year he appeared in the James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service, playing Ernst Stavro Blofeld. He continued to appear in films during the 1970s including Kelly's Heroes (1970) (with Clint Eastwood), Clay Pigeon (1971), and several European features such as Violent City (1970) (with Charles Bronson), A Town Called Bastard (1971), Horror Express (with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee), A Reason to Live, a Reason to Die (all 1972), and Redneck (1973). He reunited with Lee in the 1976 thriller Killer Force, and also appeared in Peter Hyams' Capricorn One (1978). Savalas also wrote, directed and starred in the 1977 independent thriller Beyond Reason.

He was awarded the South Eastern States Clay Pigeon Championship - NRA Civilian Champion Award in 1972. In 1981 not being one to sit on the sidelines - Hicks entered himself in professional competition once again at the Live Bird World Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico against 600 of the best moving target shooters from all over the world in a "miss and out" competition, you miss once and you're out of the competition. In just three days, all 600 shooters had been eliminated except for Billy G. Hicks (United States), Carlo Giogretti (Italy), and Butch Riechoff (United States). Riechoff missed his 53rd bird, and left Hicks and Giogretti competing for the World Championship.

Few months before the Games, he finished third at the World Cup meet in Sydney to occupy the Olympic quota place won by his compatriot Tommi Andelin, who had attained a minimum qualifying score of 120, from the 2002 World Championships in Lahti. Nummela got off to a powerful start by firing 73 out of 75 targets to secure a top finish on the first day, but his final rounds of a perfect 25 and a dismal 19-clay pigeon hit on the following day left him out from the top of the leaderboard to share a fourteenth-place tie with four other shooters, tallying a total record of 117.

There is one notable horse racing racecourse in Shropshire, near Ludlow, the Ludlow Racecourse. One of the biggest one-day events in Shropshire and the biggest one-day cycle race in the UK is the Shropshire Star Newport Nocturne; held every four years, it is Britain's only floodlit cycle race. The historic Wenlock Olympian Society Annual Games are held annually in Much Wenlock during the second weekend in July. A four-day festival, the Games include cricket, volleyball, tennis, bowls, badminton, triathlon, 10k road race, track and field events, archery, five-a-side football, veteran cycle events, clay pigeon shooting and a golf competition.

He was also the stunt double for Sylvester Stallone on the high fall through the trees off the cliff in First Blood. His career continued with stunts such as the first motorcycle jump over a helicopter as it landed and, then, rolling a truck 17 times down a sand embankment in the 1971 action feature Clay Pigeon. In recognition of his contribution to the film industry, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences inducted Hart into its membership during the first year it began a limited initiation of motion picture stunt coordinators. Hooker works alongside his wife, Gayle, a fellow stunt-performer, and they have twin sons.

The school makes use of its sports pitches and facilities including 3 rugby pitches, 2 football pitches, 5 football and 6 hockey pitches, 5 cricket squares, 7 tennis courts, 2 squash courts, all-weather netball courts, a nine-hole golf course and an outdoor heated swimming pool. Pupils spend 5 (of 6) afternoons a week playing games. Pupils at OBH play a wide variety of sports including rugby, hockey, cricket, tennis, football, athletics, gymnastics, Cross country running, golf, swimming and netball. Being a predominantly day and transitional boarding school, the school offers a wide range of activities for the pupils including: archery, sailing and clay-pigeon shooting.

While disc-shaped flying objects have been interpreted as being sporadically recorded since the Middle Ages, the first recorded use of the term "flying saucer" for an unidentified flying object was to describe a probable meteor that fell over Texas and Oklahoma on June 17, 1930. "Some who saw the weird light described it as a huge comet, a flaming flying saucer, a great red glow, a ball of fire." The National Smallbore Rifle Association, the NSRA, is the national governing body for all Small-bore Rifle and Pistol Target Shooting in the United Kingdom, including Airgun and Match Crossbow Shooting. The NSRA is based at The Lord Roberts Centre, within the grounds of the National Shooting Centre, Bisley Camp, Surrey. National postal competitions are organised all year round, together with a series of meetings, culminating in the Bisley Rifle Meeting, or National Meeting in August, preceded by the Scottish Rifle Meeting in June/July. In 2006, the NSRA founded the National Association of Target Shooting Sports working group in association with the National Rifle Association of the United Kingdom and Clay Pigeon Shooting Association, to explore the practicalities and benefits of a merger between the bodies.

The island was always a center for sports and recreation for the St. Petersburg residents.

Miss Akin—this is her film debut—really isn't such a great actress yet, which doesn't matter because she is the kind of girl you see in the movies not to admire but to fall in love with, and to have found just this kind of rather vulnerable personality for such a role is a small but lovely casting achievement.

C. Championship, due to initiatives of Jorge Sichling, was held on 23 and 24 September 1972 at Madrid, organized by the "Federacion Nacional del Tiro Olimpico Espanol", under the Presidency of Jose Angel Escorial y San Felice, with British, French, German, Italian and Spanish teams. It was a big success with 31 expert-shooters, and contributed much to start M.L. shooting in Spain. The next year, the 2nd Championship organized by the, M.L.A.G.B. (President E. Burton) at Bisley on 29 and 30 September, saw a greater number of shooters (83), and the miry of Danemark; clay pigeon events were tried, and officially adopted. The third championship was held on 5 and 6 October, at Schlibisch Hall (Germany) organized by the Deutscher Schiitzenbund (President Alfred Michaelis) under the direction of Hans Kowar, with 100 shooters, and addition of Switzerland and Netherlands, and attracted many spectators.

The school has one of only around 20 racquets courts in the UK, and until recently three Eton Fives courts, now a café bar as part of the sports club. The school has a clay pigeon shooting range on site, also having its first female captain of shooting in 2016: Amy Cribb. Wellington College has been named as number one golf college in the UK on a few occasions with wins in 2009 at St Andrews and 2012 at Carnoustie in the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) National Finals.

Almost all of Fidel Castro's followers were Partido Ortodoxo Youth rank and file of the lower middle class or working class. Only four of the 160 rebels were university graduates and most had only a primary education. Of the 137 insurgents whose ages are known, the average age was 26, the same as that of Fidel Castro. Castro claimed that they trained 1,200 men within a few months, training at the University of Havana and at firing ranges in Havana, disguising themselves as businessmen interested in hunting and clay pigeon shooting. The weapons included forty 12- and 16-gauge shotguns, thirty- five Mosberg and Remington .

Ryan Alan Robert Farquhar (born 2 February 1976, Dungannon, Northern Ireland) is a professional motorcycle racer who primarily competes in road racing. Farquhar won the Dukes Road Racing Rankings four times. He won five races at the Cookstown 100 in one day and now holds the most Irish national wins by any one rider, at 201. He previously raced a Kawasaki ZX-10R, a Kawasaki ZX-6R and a Kawasaki ER6.
