It is administered by Jesus Claros Aliaraza and the Catholic community is represented by the Comboni Missionaries.
João Punaro Bley (November 14, 1900 in Montes Claros MG - 1983) was a Brazilian military and public administrator. He graduated from the Minas Gerais Military School as a Brazilian Army lieutenant in 1921. Although he was sympathetic to the rebellion of young officers called Movimento Tenentista ('Lieutenants' Movement') of 1922, he did not take part. In 1930 he joined the national rebellion against the Constitutional Brazilian government that began when the candidate who lost the 1930 election for president, Getúlio Vargas, alleged fraud and decided to take power by force.
The style favoured by the King and his architect was Roman baroque, with polychrome marble decoration (green marble from Italy, white marble from Montes Claros, red and black marble from Sintra) and painted altars. Although its style does not really fit into the mediaeval interior of the cathedral, the main chapel is nevertheless an elegant baroque masterpiece. The main altar has sculptural decoration by the Italian Antonio Bellini. Portuguese sculptor Manuel Dias is the author of the crucified Jesus over the altar, based on a drawing by Portuguese painter Vieira Lusitano.
The ruins of the sanctuary are now found north of the modern town Ahmetbeyli in the Menderes district of Izmir Province, Turkey. The Temple of Apollo at Claros was a very important center of prophecy as in Delphi and Didyma. The oldest information about this sacred site goes back to the sixth and seventh centuries BC. through the Homeric Hymns. A sacred cave near the Temple of Apollo, which was an important place both in the Hellenistic and Roman eras, points to the existence of a Cybele cult in earlier periods here.
After the beginning of the Roman Province of Asia (end of the 2nd century BC), prominent citizens of Colophon helped to increase the authority of the sanctuary, the importance of the religious competitions and the fame of the oracle. To celebrate the major sacrifices before crowds consisting of Greeks and non-Greeks, four rows of iron rings attached to heavy blocks allowed a hundred victims to be killed simultaneously. Claros is the only sanctuary in the Greek world which offers a clear picture of the way priests could perform the hecatomb.
Defender Ryan McGivern was signed on loan from Manchester City on the last day of the window, but Fenlon said afterwards he was still looking to strengthen one area of the squad. He managed to strengthen the central midfield position in September, after signing free agent Tom Taiwo to a two-year deal. Approaching the January transfer window, Fenlon said that his main priority was an attempt to secure the services of the three loaned players (Griffiths, McGivern and Jorge Claros). It was confirmed on 16 January that the deals for Griffiths and McGivern had been extended to the end of the season.
The Spanish army started to fall apart and fled in disorder towards Juromenha, leaving behind all their artillery and many dead and wounded. Thousands of Spanish soldiers were captured and made prisoners, with eight Spanish generals being among the captured. Almost all of the 1,500 Spanish fugitives who had taken refuge in the many woods around Vila Viçosas for fear of being killed if they surrendered eventually died as a result of their wounds and hunger in the weeks following the battle.Contemporary author- Relacion verdadera, y pontual, de la gloriosissima victoria ... de Montes Claros, Oficina Henrique Valente de Oliveira, 1665, pp. 46,47.
The subsequent Portuguese Restoration War against Philip III () consisted mainly of small skirmishes near the border. The most significant battles were the Battle of the Lines of Elvas (1659), the Battle of Ameixial (1663), the Battle of Castelo Rodrigo (1664), and the Battle of Montes Claros (1665); the Portuguese were victorious in all of these battles. However, the Spaniards won the Battle of Vilanova (1658) and the Battle of the Berlengas (1666). The Battle of Montijo (1644) was indecisive, starting out with great Spanish success and ending with Portuguese success; the number of casualties were nearly equal.
Despite being primarily a reggaeton and trap artist, Ozuna cites bachata singer Romeo Santos as his biggest musical influence Ozuna has been described as the "New King of Reggaeton". He is known as "el negrito de los ojos claros" ("the black guy with light eyes"). His logo is a teddy bear in a hoodie, which Lawrence Lowe of Billboard described as having an "approachable sweetness". Eduardo Cepeda of Billboard stated that despite Latin urban music "presently veering away from its Afro- Latino roots" Ozuna is "one of the only, and certainly the most famous, Afro- Latinos to hit the mainstream".
In 1870, the president of the republic was General José María Medina and governor of the department of Gracias, which this municipality belonged to, was Rosa Muñoz. The subsequent war with Spain, named the Restoration War, consisted mainly of periodic skirmishes near the border and five significant battles, being the Battle of Montijo on 26 May 1644, the Battle of the Lines of Elvas on 14 January 1659, the Battle of Ameixial on 8 June 1663, the Battle of Castelo Rodrigo 7 July 1664, and the Battle of Montes Claros 17 June 1665; the Portuguese were victorious in all of these battles. The victories were possible because John IV made several decisions that strengthened the Portuguese forces. On December 11, 1640, he created the Council of War to organize the operations (Mattoso Vol. VIII 1993).
Nevertheless El hombre que supo amar fared poorly commercially. Picazo's fourth film, (Los claros motivos del deseo) (The clear motives of Desire) (1976), about adolescence life in the provinces, fared no better at the box office. This new commercial failure brought the director back to his work on television until, thanks to the Miró's law, he was able to shoot his fifth film Extramuros (Outside the walls) (1985), adapted from the novel of the same name by Jesús Fernández Santos. The film, starring Aurora Bautista as tyrannical mother superior of a convent of sexually repressed nuns whose authority is challenged by two younger women, played by Mercedes Sampietro and Carmen Maura.
The beginning of the elimination rounds on 8 August saw Bolivia's debut in the women's individual event come to a premature end, with Ebe Fernandez, Dhara Claros, and Ana Micaela Espinoza Garcia all losing in the 1/16 elimination round in straight sets. Chile's three entrants also suffered early exits. Isabella Bassi, the highest-placed Chilean archer in the ranking round, and Javier Andrades both lost in the opening round, the former falling to Guatemala's Cinthya Pellecer after shooting an eight to Pellecer's nine in a one-arrow shoot-off. Only Catalina Márquez Rojas of Chile's trio advanced beyond the first round after ending as the surprise victor in her encounter against ninth-seed Elizabeth Rodriguez of Cuba.

In 1663, Philip launched a major military offensive against Portugal and refused to negotiate while England was assisting 'rebels'. Talks opened in 1664 when the offensive failed, halted when the Second Anglo-Dutch War began in March 1665, then restarted following Spanish defeat at the Battle of Montes Claros in June.
Antimachus of Colophon (), or of Claros, was a Greek poet and grammarian, who flourished about 400 BC. Scarcely anything is known of his life. The Suda claims that he was a pupil of the poets Panyassis and Stesimbrotus.Suda α 2681 His poetical efforts were not generally appreciated, although he received encouragement from his younger contemporary Plato (Plutarch, Lysander, 18). His chief works were: an epic Thebais, an account of the expedition of the Seven against Thebes and the war of the Epigoni; and an elegiac poem Lyde, so called from the poet's mistress, for whose death he endeavoured to find consolation telling stories from mythology of heroic disasters (Plutarch, Consul, ad Apoll.
The film is loosely based on the 1974 novel Los Andes no creen en Dios by Adolfo Costa du Rels and two short stories by the same author, La Misk'isimi (Sweet Lips in Quechua) and Plata del diablo (The Devil's Silver). The film is set in the late 1920s in the small and remote mining town of Uyuni in the highlands of Bolivia, lying between a vast salt desert and towering mountains. The hero is Alfonso Claros, a young writer who has been educated in France and who arrives in Uyuni seeking to make his fortune in mining. He begins an affair with the sultry mestizo Claudina, but breaks it off due to local prejudice.
As the battle raged Schomberg had his horse shot from under him, and was nearly captured, but the veteran brigade were able break the defences to bring about a decisive victory over the Spaniards under Luis de Benavides Carrillo, Marquis of Caracena. After Montes Claros the Spaniards failed to gain any compensating advantage but the war continued and Portugal was safe from further attack. Over the next two years Schomberg and the depleted English brigade helped to lead a series of raids across the border. They captured the fortress of A Guarda and plundered Alburquerque until a ceasefire in 1667 was declared after a palace coup within the Portuguese court forced King Afonso VI of Portugal into exile.
On 1December 1640, the Portuguese revolted and restored their full independence, under the leadership of the Duke of Braganza, who was crowned as King John IV of Portugal. The Portuguese Restoration War then started, with the Portuguese Army defeating the Spanish Army in a series of military campaigns, until achieving the final victory in 1668. At the same time, the Portuguese defeated the Dutch in a series of overseas campaigns, recovering most of its territories in Africa and South America. Partial depiction of the Battle of Montes Claros in a 17th- century azulejo panel at the Palace of Fronteira At the moment of the Restoration of Portuguese independence, the country's ground forces were reduced to around 2000 ill-equipped men.

Fernan (or Fernando) Perez de Guzman (1376–1458) was a Spanish historian and poet. He belonged to a family distinguished both for its patrician standing and its literary connections, for his uncle was Pero López de Ayala, Grand Chancellor of Castile, historian and poet, and a kinsman was the Marquis of Santillana, one of the most important authors of the time of Juan II of Castile. Part of his verse, such as the "Proverbios" and the "Diversas virtudes", is purely moral and didactic. The more important part is represented by the panegyrical Loores de los claros varones de España, which in 409 octaves gives a full account of the leading figures in Spanish history from Roman times down to that of Benedict XIII.
A second legend indicated that among those from diverse nations taking part in the Reconquest was a brother of the Duke of Brittany, named Gudeman (meaning 'good man'). The legend, as related by Fernán Pérez de Guzmán, tells that Gudeman remained south of the Pyrenees, married into the lineage of Count Ramiro, and the family derived their name from him, in the derivative form of Guzmán. Fernán Pérez de Guzmán dismisses this unsupported legend, saying that there are no records of the tale, save for the memories of men.(anon.), Centón epistolario del Bachiller Fernán Gómez de Cibdareal, Generaciones y Semblanzas del Noble Caballero Fernan Perez de Guzman, Claros Varones de Castilla, y Letras de Fernando de Pulger, Madrid: Imprenta Real de Gazeta, 1775, pp.

A view from near Özdere facing south towards Kuşadası Özdere is a part of the so-called Turkish Riviera, and is situated along the southern face of the Karaburun Peninsula. It is one of the northern towns of the Gulf of Kuşadası, with its shoreline parallel to the Dilek Peninsula in the south. During the town's incorporation, it was divided into 4 mahalle (neighborhoods). These include the historic town center and the Ottoman village of Kesri in the east, known today as Cumhuriyet Mahallesi; the central neighborhood of Çukuraltı Mahallesi, sandwiched between the others; the westernmost neighborhood of Orta Mahallesi consisting of the coastal community and beaches, bordering the Seferihisar district; and the easternmost neighborhood of Ahmetbeyli Mahallesi, containing the ruins of Claros and which borders the district of Selçuk.
There is also mention of the localities of Montes de Baixo and Montes de Cima, colloquially known as the Freires since there were a preponderance of residents from that family living in the region. The Matriz Church was constructed in the early part of the 16th century by Ataide family, alcades of the vila, donatorios with many privileges and lands (it was likely Álvaro de Ataide's son who initiated the construction of the church in 1497). In 1652 the Santa Casa da Misericórdia was first erected in the community. By royal charter, issued by Peter II, the vila of Alvor was once again raised to Countship (4 February 1683) under Francisco de Távora, a nobleman who occupied several official duties and distinguished himself during the Battle of Montes Claros.

Relief depicting the birth of Aphrodite (Aphrodite Anadyomene), Aphrodisias Museum The Aphrodite of Aphrodisias The cult image that is particular to Aphrodisias, the Aphrodite of Aphrodisias, doubtless was once housed in the Temple of Aphrodite. This section follows the dissertation by Lisa R. Brody, under the direction of Christopher Ratté, "The Iconography and Cult of the Aphrodite of Aphrodisias"; her upcoming book will present a catalogue of all surviving images. She was a distinctive local goddess who became, by interpretatio graeca, identified with the Greek Aphrodite. Her canonical image, typical of Anatolian cult images, shows that she is related to the Lady of Ephesus,Lisa Brody notes other images of similar formula: the Artemis of Perge, the Artemis of Claros, the Kore of Sardis, Zeus Labraundeus, and Jupiter Heliopolitanus of Baalbek.
They left on 9 January 1818 for Sorocaba and Itu on to Minas Gerais, then through Camanducaia to cross the Rio Sapucaí for São Gonçalo and Ouro Prêto. The earliest reference to Notion is in Herodotus, who includes it among the cities of Aeolis (of which it is the southernmost): "Kyme, which is called Phriconis, Larisai, Neon-teichos, Temnos, Killa, Notion, Aigiroëssa, Pitane, Aigaiai, Myrina, Grynei" (I:149). Its proximity to the Ionian city of Colophon needs explanation; we may "suppose either that the Ionian settlers negotiated their rights of passage up to their inland site or more probably that they reached it originally up one of the other river valleys."Herbert William Parke, The Oracles of Apollo in Asia Minor (Taylor & Francis, 1985: ), p. 119. Robin Lane Fox, discussing the early rivalry between the cities, writes: > Relations between Colophon and nearby Notion were never easy and their > bitter rivalry may help to explain the story of a quarrel between the two > prophets at Claros.
On 1January 1911, electric tramways were inaugurated to connect the old quarter with its expanding periphery, which included the residential areas of Celas, Olivais, Penedo da Saudade and Calhabé, all located in the civil parish of Santo António dos Olivais. This was only the initiation of the municipality growth. Civil construction projects throughout the region marked the economic activity of the territory, with new areas such as Montes Claros, Arregaça, Cumeada and Calhabé growing in the shadow of the city. Even projects that had been planned at the end of the 19th century gained new initiative, including the expansion of the Santa Cruz neighbourhood (bairro), the demolition of the residential area of the Alta de Coimbra (1940–50) to expand the University, and construction or expansion of the bairros of Celas, Sete Fontes and Marechal Carmona (now the bairro of Norton de Matos).

Former students of his educative institutions would arrive in the following days with obsequies, when the news started to be known. The following year the political context was less chaotic and Bernardino Rivadavia, who was minister by then, organised a massive state funeral.Belgranian National Institute, Sus Exequias () In 1902, during the presidency of Julio Argentino Roca, Belgrano's body was exhumed from the atrium of Santo Domingo, to be moved into a mausoleum. Two days later Houston Regals nearly played spoilers. It took a determined Stephen Brocks run down the left wing to set up an 85th game-winning goal by Sambo Claros. Liverpool Warriors held serve that weekend with two wins as well keeping their point deficit at eight points after eight matches. On June 22, the club had the opportunity to clinch the division at home versus Liverpool Warriors. Unfortunately it was not to be, as Athletic threw away a 2–0 first half advantage, received two red cards, and were lucky to hang on for a 2–2 draw in front of an NPSL season high 3,761 fans. The league was clinched seven days later as Tulsa routed the Houston Hurricanes 5–0 at home. The following day they were triumphant 4–0 against the same side. Tulsa Athletic hosted a friendly versus Mexico's Club America in front of over 5,500 fans on July 2.
Schomberg thus took command of the English brigade which consisted of three regiments in total 3,000 men. Many of these were ex Royalist and New Model Army troops from the Civil War. After many difficulties in the three first campaigns resulting from the opposition of Portuguese officers, the Portuguese commander António Luís de Meneses, 1st Marquis of Marialva, together with Schomberg won the victory of Montes Claros on 17 June 1665 over the Spaniards under Luis de Benavides Carrillo, Marquis of Caracena. After participating with his army in the revolution which deposed the reigning king Afonso VI of Portugal in favour of his brother Dom Pedro, and ending the war with Spain, Schomberg returned to France, became a naturalised Frenchman and bought the lordship of Coubert near Paris. He had been rewarded by the king of Portugal, in 1663, with the rank of Grandee, the title of count of Mértola and a pension of f 5000 a year.
There is also an elaborate depiction of the Portuguese castle of São Jorge da Mina (Elmina Castle, on the Gold Coast of west Africa), flanked by two African towns. Other illustrations include a lion-shaped mountain representing the Sierra Leone mountain range, the Alexandria lighthouse (laid horizontal), the mythical Mountains of the Moon (legendary source of the Nile River) in central Africa, and either the Table Mountain or Drakensberg range in South Africa. Along the central African coast are the various cross stone markers (padrões) erected by Diogo Cão and Bartolomeu Dias in the 1480s. In north Africa, there is the "Montes Claros" in the usual place of the Atlas mountains, the legend below on the left reading that "this is the land of King Organo, whose king is very noble and very rich", and to the right that this is the "land of the King of Nubia, the king of which is continuously making war on Prester John and is a moor and a great enemy of Christians".
Valerius Flaccus was praetor, a senior administrative and judicial position, sometime before 95 BC, most probably in 96.Based on the date of his consulship and evidence from Cicero, Pro Balbo 55, and Valerius Maximus 1.1.1; Broughton, Magistrates, p. 10. An inscription from Claros (in modern Turkey) indicates that following his praetorship and before 95 he held a promagisterial, or senior military, command in the Roman province of Asia.T. Corey Brennan, The Praetorship in the Roman Republic (Oxford University Press, 2000), p. 442 online and p. 552 online. Both he and his brother Lucius, who was a governor of Asia in the late 90s and again for 85, are honored as patrons of the city of Colophon in Ionia.Claude Eilers, Roman Patrons of Greek Cities (Oxford University Press, 2002), p. 79 online and p. 137 online. Lucius was murdered before he reached his province for the year of 85. The two are the first Roman governors known to be addressed as patrons of a free city, a practice that became common in the 60s BC.Richard Gordon with Joyce Reynolds, "Roman Inscriptions 1995–2000," Journal of Roman Studies 93 (2003), p. 225.
