Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and reared in Redlands, California, little is known of Shadegg's early life, including his education. He worked extensively as a writer and published hundreds of stories in pulp magazines before his interest turned to politics. Mull syndicated the program on nighttime clear-channel megastation WWL 870 AM in New Orleans and consequently became known among nighttime truck drivers across the United States. This sanitorium treated victims of the White Plague who were too poor to pay or whose cases were too desperate to cure. The Golden Hill Cemetery was established at the western end of the road, divided into mainstream and the hill sections, the hill being the final resting place of victims who could not be cured. Chuck Wagon and the Wheels was an American country music group with a professional wrestling theme. It was composed of members: Carl "Cal" Pyle (background vocals), and Sid Sequin (bass guitar, vocals), pseudonyms of brothers Gordon Kennedy, Bryan Kennedy and Shelby Kennedy. The group signed to Lyric Street Records in 2000, releasing their album Off the Top Rope that year. It included the single "Beauty's in the Eye of the Beerholder," which peaked at 75 on the Billboard country singles charts.

Peter Lawrence Boyle was born on October 18, 1935, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, the son of Alice (née Lewis) and Francis Xavier Boyle. He moved with his family to nearby Philadelphia. Francis was a Philadelphia TV personality from 1951 to 1963. Among many other roles, he played the Western show host Chuck Wagon Pete, as well as hosting the after- school children's program Uncle Pete Presents the Little Rascals, which showed vintage Little Rascals and Three Stooges comedy shorts alongside Popeye cartoons.

When Phillips returned to his Expectation Stud Farm, his new horses joined the existing stallions including Ed Echols, Steel Bars, Double Bid, and Chuck Wagon W. On June 17, 1960, a fire broke out in the El Rancho's main building, which contained the casino, A Chuck Wagon buffet, the Nugget Neil Cocktail Lounge, the Stage Door Steak House, the Opera House dining room and showroom, and offices. Two years after her death in 1967, Davis married Anna Gordon, born Effie Juanita Carter (February 15, 1917 - March 5, 2004). A founding member of the gospel quartet The Chuck Wagon Gang along with her father, a sister and a brother, she had been given the stage name "Anna" during the mid-1930s.

Later in 1968, her husband suggested forming their own group, and in the spring of 1969, The Downings debuted with a performance at Bruce High School. In the summer of 1969, The Downings (described in the trade publication Billboard as "an unusually young gospel group") toured with Jimmie Davis and The Chuck Wagon Gang. Eighteen of the group's recordings reached top-20 gospel songs ranking before the group disbanded in 1978. In 1969, Downing won the first Dove Award for Female Vocalist of the Year.

The Paris July 4 Celebration is the big event of the year, a tradition that brings people from miles around. Starting off with the KVSI fun run (8.6 miles) from the KVSI radio station in Montpelier ending in Paris where the City of Paris chuck wagon breakfast is held at the finish line. The best two dishes (Let There Be Bacon and Lone Star Chuck Wagon) would qualify to compete in a 20-minute Gulf Seafood challenge judged by Tyler and chef Pete Blohme. The best seafood dish would get $1,000 toward their till.

The relationship between the Mull Singing Convention and the Chuck Wagon Gang was mutually reinforcing. A songbook published by the Mulls was part of the background leading to the recruitment of Dave Emery to sing with the Gang. The Mulls also broadcast recordings by Jimmie Davis, whom they habitually introduced as "twice Governor of the great State of Louisiana." The Cactus Café,Cactus Café & Bar - The Music VenueUT web site for Cactus Café and Bar is a music venue and gathering place for students located in the Union Building, originally known as the Chuck Wagon when it opened in 1933. In January 2010, the university announced plans to close the Cactus, claiming that closing the venue would save the university $66,000 in its $2 billion annual budget. Concerned supporters formed the non-profit organization Friends of the Cactus Café with the purpose of raising funds to preserve the historic venue. An arrangement was eventually made to keep the venue open under the auspices and management of PBS radio station KUT.

Steve Solomon's composition, "Houd-Da" was used as the introduction to the song "Domino Joe", though not credited on the album. The introduction to the song "Annabelle Walker" was actually Steve Solomon's composition "The Kool School" though he was not credited. Peter Gierlach is a horticulturist of native desert plants, and currently resides in Cochise County, AZ. Concert pianist David Syme, who now resides in Houston, Texas and in Ireland, played on several tracks on the "Domino Joe" album. The original pedal steel guitar player was Neil Harry, who later played with Chuck Wagon and the Wheels and recorded with Howe Gelb of Giant Sand.

Bill Cauble of Albany in Shackelford County won the Chuckwagon Award. Cauble has been known for decades for his outdoor cooking and was an organizer in 1991 of the Western Chuck Wagon Association. In 1991, the association honored Frankie McWhorter of Lipscomb with the Western Music Award and the All-Around Cowboy Culture Award. Formerly a member of Bob Wills' Texas Playboys, McWhorter recorded ranch dance music; he was a foreman at the Copper Camp Creek Ranch in Higgins in Lipscomb County and an inductee of the Western Swing Hall of Fame. Actor and rancher Dale Robertson, then living in Yukon, Oklahoma, received the 1999 association award for film and television.

In 1868, Devine decided to establish a cattle ranch in southeastern Oregon. To manage the business, he joined W. B. Todhunter to found the Todhunter and Devine Cattle Company. The following summer, Devine and Juan Redon as head Buckaroo with a dozen California vaqueros along with a chuck wagon and a Chinese cook trailed a herd of 2,500 cattle from California to southeastern Oregon while Todhunter stayed behind to look after the company's holding in the San Joaquin Valley. Since the group’s demise, Tom Walker and Shep Cooke continued to play music professionally. Walker joined Butterscotch, who later became known as Jon Sorrow and cut a song included on the soundtrack album for the movie Hells Angels '69, and also did work for several months with country act Sunset Limited. Cooke founded the Floating House Band in 1970, and also played on albums with Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Tom Waits, later playing in a local band called the Seekers, and released two solo albums of his own. He also has played on various artists' records and composed some of the songs on Chuck Wagon and the Wheels' albums, as well as playing in the Floating House Band.

Released in 1983, Tooth Protectors is one of the earliest "advergames" or "promogames" – games with overt tie-ins to retail products – and one of several released that year for the Atari 2600 platform (others included M Network's Kool-Aid Man and Purina's Chase the Chuck Wagon.) Commissioned by Johnson & Johnson and developed by DSD/Camelot, it was the only game released for the Atari 2600 by either company. The game was never given a traditional retail release, but was instead available exclusively to Johnson & Johnson customers who mailed in proof of purchase stamps to the company. Today it is considered rare and valuable; the game received a rating of 9 ("Extremely Rare") from the Atari Age rarity guide.

Orthophonic Joy combines updated versions of songs recorded at the original 1927 Bristol Sessions, also known as the "big bang" of country music, with story tracks that provide context. Artists include Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Emmylou Harris, Marty Stuart, Dolly Parton, Ashley Monroe, The Shotgun Rubies, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, Vince Gill, Keb' Mo', The Church Sisters, Corbin Hayslett, Brad Paisley, Carl Jackson, Ashley Campbell, Shannon Campbell, Sheryl Crow, Larry Cordle and the Virginia Luthiers, Jesse McReynolds, the Chuck Wagon Gang and the Orthophonic Choir, which consists of the collective voices of everyone involved in the project.

Guitarist/keyboardist/saxophonist/drummer Chuck Wagon (born Bob Davis) released a solo recording, more synth pop than punk rock, entitled "Rock 'N' Roll Won't Go Away" (A&M;, 1979). Wagon, who was known for his energetic and entertaining antics at Dickies shows (such as running in a circle around his keyboard, or wearing an afro wig while playing saxophone), has been said to have become troubled over time, and dissatisfied with punk rock and the Dickies. He left the band at one point, planning to pursue his solo career, but reunited with the Dickies for a number of concerts. He committed suicide, shooting himself at his parents' home after a Dickies show, and passed away in a hospital the next day, on June 28, 1981.

In 1890, Tillman set to music a hymn by Baptist preacher M.E. Abbey, "Life's Railway to Heaven." (Abbey had drawn from an earlier poem, "The Faithful Engineer," by William Shakespeare Hays.) Also known by its first line "Life is like a mountain railroad", the song has been recorded by Boxcar Willie, the Carter Family, the Chuck Wagon Gang, , The Oak Ridge Boys, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Brad Paisley, Russ Taff, the Amazing Rhythm Aces, and many others. A long-standing gag in the Rider's concerts is LaBour mishearing a request to play the theme from the television program Bonanza on the bass, and instead playing it by slapping his face. LaBour's repertoire of character voices include the evil Swinburne Slocum; Side Meat, a feisty chuck wagon cook whose secret biscuit ingredient is cement; Freddy La, the Surfin' Cowboy; and an assortment of frontier salesmen hawking to the cattle trade. LaBour's stage name, "Too Slim", came from a character he created at the Nashville Public Library while working with the puppet theater called "Singing Cowboy Slim", and from Ed "Too Tall" Jones, a football player at Tennessee State University who later joined the Dallas Cowboys. LaBour has a master's degree in Wildlife Management from the University of Michigan.

Some cowboy churches could be described as an outgrowth of ministries at professional rodeo or team roping events, while the roots of many can be traced back to ministry events associated with ranch rodeos, ranch horse competitions, chuck wagon cooking competitions, cowboy poetry gatherings, and other "cowboy culture" events. It has been said that a cowboy church must have five principal characteristics: non-denominational, no offerings collected or solicited, no membership, no dress code, and held in non-traditional settings. Cowboy churches also exist in the denominational context of traditional Baptist churches. The "no barriers" cowboy church model pioneered by Ron Nolen of the Baptist General Convention of Texas has been used by the AFCC (American Fellowship of Cowboy Churches) to plant over two hundred denominational motivated cowboy churches in sixteen states.

Chase the Chuck Wagon is a maze game. The object of each maze screen is to move Chuckie, the dog, through mazes of four different designs and escape through the opening directly below the chuckwagon. The player has limited time (60 or 30 seconds depending on the difficulty setting) per maze to accomplish this. There are two obstacles in each maze: the dog catcher moves through the maze, and if he touches Chuckie, the player loses one life; the bouncing object (bone, etc.) travels back and forth across the maze unhindered by the maze walls, and if it touches Chuckie, he will be frozen momentarily (signified by the maze changing color), making it more difficult to reach the end of maze within the time limit or avoid the dog catcher.

Beginning in the 1930s, Gower Street earned the nickname "Gower Gulch" because of the many extras in Westerns who would dress in their cowboy costumes at home, then walk south to Paramount and RKO studios, which were all located just off Gower Street south of Sunset Boulevard. Today, a strip-mall named "Gower Gulch", built to resemble a Western set, sits on the southwest corner of Sunset and Gower as a reminder of that era. The phrase "Gower Gulch" is painted on an actual chuck wagon that sits on the site of the old "Copper Skillet" coffee shop, where the cowboys used to have their breakfast. Gower Street became very well known to wartime movie audiences in the film Thank Your Lucky Stars (1943) when Dennis Morgan and Joan Leslie visit "Gower Gulch".

Becker has worked with a wide range of people. In the 1980s, he collaborated with astrologer Jeane Dixon and one of her songs was recorded by The Chuck Wagon Gang.

Tyler gave each team a flag with their truck logo on it as a brand awareness and marketing starting point. While some teams bought props to get attention (Beach Cruiser and Gourmet Graduates), others paid for advertising (Madres Mexican Meals and Middle Feast), and others offered discounts or raffles (Military Moms and Lone Star Chuck Wagon).

Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival is an annual event held at the William S. Hart Park in Old Town Newhall, California. Each year, over 10,000 visitors from all around the world attend lectures and performances on multiple stages by famous poets, authors, instructors, musical acts, and dancers, in fields including Western, Bluegrass, Americana and Spoken Word to folk, Native American and Mexican American traditions. Guests participate in cowboy and cowgirl living history through activities such as life around a chuck wagon, roping, bull riding, crafts, games, and trying an assortment of dishes including BBQ and peach cobbler. Guests can also attend a demonstration of plains Tipi living, tours of the historic Heritage Junction town and train engine, appearances by lasso expert Dave Thornbury and gunslinger Joey Rocketshoes Dillon, the Buffalo Soldiers camp, and a Western and Civil War reenactment.

The ACTC noted that Chandler was creative and resourceful in transplanting native trees during the construction and grading for the first phase of Mesquite Groves Park and Aquatic Center. On September 2, 2010, the Chandler Parks Division received the Natural Resources Award from the Arizona Parks & Recreation Association for the development of Paseo Vista Recreation Area on top of a closed landfill at the northwest corner of McQueen and Ocotillo roads. On October 2, 2010, the Paso Vista project also received the prestigious Crescordia Environmental Excellence Award from the Valley Forward Association. On September 23, 2011, Chandler's Channel 11 and Chandler Recreation received a second-place finish in the 2011 NATOA (National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors) Government Programming Awards NATOA in the magazine format series category for the bi- monthly "Come Out & Play Chandler!" show's January episode that profiled the November 2010 inaugural Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-Off event at Tumbleweed Ranch.
