The theme music for the film was "The Shadow of Your Smile", by Johnny Mandel, with lyrics by Paul Francis Webster. It was sung by an uncredited choral group, and the tune was used throughout the film, featuring the trumpet of Jack Sheldon. It won the 1965 Academy Award for Best Original Song, and a recording by Tony Bennett won the 1966 Grammy Award for Song of the Year.

The Windsor Symphony Orchestra Chorus was created in 1988 as a choral group directly affiliated with the orchestra. Previously, the orchestra would perform alongside the Windsor Classic Chorale and groups from Windsor and Leamington. His family originally came from northern Vietnam, but they left in 1954 through Operation Passage to Freedom, fleeing the encroachment of communist rule over North Vietnam. He came to the United States in 1980 and attended Santa Ana Valley High School. During his senior year, he participated in a choral group called Chamber Singers.

In 1951, following national service, McCarthy together with Denis Stevens founded a choral group known as the Ambrosian Singers to provide choral polyphony for the BBC series, The History of Music, which Stevens produced. Thamsanqa Shabalala (born September 29 1974) is a member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a South African choral group founded in 1960 by his father Joseph. He replaced Joseph as the group's lead singer after his father's retirement in 2014 (see main article for more information). Thamsanqa was born in Ladysmith (eMnambithi district) to Joseph and his late wife Nellie. In 1976, Joseph brought together his six sons to form Mshengu White Mambazo, Ladysmith's 'junior choir'.

Michael Mahendere claims this venture gave him exposure in his career. In 2009, Michael Mahendere became a Music Director at the University of Zimbabwe and launched a Chinese Choral group which became attached to the Confucius Institute. He spent about four years travelling to and fro and China. Michael Mahendere declined a scholarship to study Music in China as he had found a home at the United Family International Church where he served in the choir.
Hilary joined the Irish choral group Anúna in 2000. Born in Brest, René Abjean made his début as a musician in the choir of Plouguerneau in 1953. At age 17, he created his first vocal work as part of a choral group Ar Baganiz, a precursor of the Breton revivalism of An Triskell, for which he made many arrangements. In 2006 the Suspicious Cheese Lords won a Washington Area Music Award for Best Choral Group. In 2005 they won Best New Artist and received two other nominations. On October 17, 2014, the Suspicious Cheese Lords performed as part of the 2014-2015 Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul Choral Series in Philadelphia, PA. They featured a "Franken- mass" made up of portions of Renaissance parody masses by five composers, together with the contemporary popular song that inspired each one.

Cant de la Senyera ("Song of The Senyera [flag]") is a composition for mixed chorus with music by Lluís Millet, lyrics based on a poem by Joan Maragall, composed expressly to be the hymn of the Orfeó Català choral group in the Catalonia community of Spain. It debuted at Montserrat in 1896, in a ceremony in honor of the Senyera, a traditional flag of the crown of Aragon which serves as the basis for other regional flags, including that of Catalonia.
Callaway was the founding music director of the Washington National Opera in 1956. He played the solo organ part in the world premiere of Samuel Barber's Toccata Festiva in 1960 with the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Eugene Ormandy. On April 17, 1966, Callaway directed the 51-voice choir of the Washington National Cathedral at Westminster Abbey in London. It was the first time an American choral group had sung there and an American flag was raised outside the Abbey for the occasion.

As a child during road trips with his family, Pendergrast would sing Broadway tunes harmonizing along with his older brother. Pendergrast currently sings in a Vermont choral group called Social Band. King Kalākaua, Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, and "Kalākaua's Singing Boys", his own personally headed choir, c. 1889 The choral group formed by the king was named Kalākaua's Singing Boys (aka King's Singing Boys). It was a minstrel troupe composed of native Hawaiian male musicians. According to Hawaii resident Isobel Osbourne Strong, wife of artist Joseph Dwight Strong and stepdaughter of Robert Louis Stevenson, Kalākaua would often play the ukulele and perform mele (songs) for his visitors, accompanied by the Singing Boys.
Ndoda Russel Mthembu is a member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a South African choral group founded in 1960 - and still led - by close friend Joseph Shabalala. Russel was born in Ladysmith, South Africa, and joined Ladysmith Black Mambazo in 1975. It was at this time that Joseph converted to Christianity, which saw the group's output include Zulu hymns and songs of a religious nature. Russel joined the group as a bass voice, along with Jabulani Dubazana (who later sung as a tenor voice).
The Atlanta Boy Choir in concert at the St. Nicholas Church in Nový Knín (Czech Republic) The Atlanta Boy Choir is a renowned choral group for boys and men in Atlanta, Georgia. The choir, as it is known today, was founded in 1959 by Maestro Fletcher Wolfe. The choir is an ambassador internationally, performing across North America and Europe in many of the most renowned concert halls and cathedrals in the world. The choir sung for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican City five times.
Barezzi made arrangements for him to become a private pupil of , who had been maestro concertatore at La Scala, and who described Verdi's compositions as "very promising". Lavigna encouraged Verdi to take out a subscription to La Scala, where he heard Maria Malibran in operas by Gioachino Rossini and Vincenzo Bellini. Verdi began making connections in the Milanese world of music that were to stand him in good stead. These included an introduction by Lavigna to an amateur choral group, the Società Filarmonica, led by Pietro Massini.
Lakewood Cemetery Tour He conducted the Apollo Club of Minneapolis, a notable choral society. He also organised the Schubert Choral Association and the Schubert Orchestra in St. Paul, and he was director of the Minneapolis Philharmonic Club, a choral group. Symphony New Brunswick announced in May 2013 a new long-term partnership with the Moncton-based choral group, the Louisbourg Choir which is under the direction of Monique Richard at the Université de Moncton. On October 23, 2018, the Symphony announced a search for a new Music Director to replace Michael Newnham who left the position in May 2018. The search is expected to take two seasons. Newnham was appointed Principal Guest Conductor and will conduct the Symphony's presentation of "Messiah" in December 2018.
The Central Maryland Chorale, formerly known as the Laurel Oratorio Society, is a classical music choral group based in Laurel, Maryland. The Laurel Oratorio Society was founded in 1969, and officially incorporated in 1973. The following year Virgil Thomson, a renowned conductor and composer, came to the Society to see a retrospective of his work. The Central Maryland Chorale performs oratorios, musical excerpts, and lighter choral works approximately three times a year, in addition to its annual Christmas season sing-along of Handel's Messiah.
The Community Music School of the Piedmont (CMSP) has been in operation in Virginia since 1994. Originally begun as a music school linked to the children's choral group, the American Children of SCORE, the school grew rapidly and became an independent entity in 2001. It is a non-profit organization that enjoys status as a tax-exempt charitable organization under section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Service code. The school offers a wide range of group classes, ensemble programs, individual instruction, and music therapy.
Luboff was the founder and conductor of the Norman Luboff Choir, one of the leading choral groups of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. They came to prominence through their participation in the very successful Christmas broadcasts with Bing Crosby which ran from 1955 to 1962. History was made in 1956 when Luboff and his choir recorded with Harry Belafonte on 'Calypso', the first ever album to sell one million copies. The Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus (TCGMC) is a choral group in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. The all-male chorus sings a variety of songs arranged for TTBB, ranging from Broadway show tunes to Latin motets to original compositions specially commissioned by the Chorus or written by its members. With 180 volunteer singing members, the Chorus produces and presents a full concert season every year and is also featured at a number of other special appearances and outreach programs locally, throughout the Midwest and the nation.

The two sisters founded a royal choral group, Hui Himeni Kaohuokalani (the Kaohuokalani Singing Club or Kaohuokalani Singing Association), early in their brother's reign. They participated in choral competitions with groups founded by their brothers. The group composed a number of kanikau (dirges) for the funeral of Princess Likelike in 1887, including songs by Liliʻuokalani and ladies-in-waiting Kapoli Kamakau and Eliza Wood Holt. Kamakau composed "Imi Ia Ka Lani" ("The Heavenly One Is Sought") as a tribute to Likelike at her death.
The London Oriana Choir is a choral group comprising around 120 singers, based in London, England. It was formed in 1973 by Leon Lovett, who acted as conductor and musical director. David Drummond became the choir's musical director in 1996, and Dominic Ellis-Peckham began his term as musical director in September 2013. The choir has developed a following through performances at London venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre, Royal Festival Hall at Southbank, St Paul's Cathedral and St Martin-in-the-Fields.
The fig trees have been in the grounds since before the 1920s and mark the site of WWII military camp. Two large trees situated on either side of the Memorial Gates may be related to the First Arbour Day. The first floor corridor contains several photographs, including a depiction of the memorial gates, a gathering of past students for the 50 year Jubilee in 1937, and an award winning choral group. The original school bell, which is over one hundred years old, hangs in its original position above the main entrance gates.
The annual studio tour was created in the late 1970s by some of the potters who lived on the island. The group was rebranded in February 2018 as the Vashon Island Visual Artists, and they applied for non- profit status in 2015. The group now operates semi-annual tours of studios of local artists, classes, workshops, salons, exhibits, and social activities for artists, with membership around 300. The island is home to a choral group established in 1989 under the name Island Singers, and now known as the Vashon Island Chorale.

It was founded in 1989 as a musical subsidiary of HarperCollins Publishers and distributed through Pinnacle Entertainment (United Kingdom). Artists who recorded for the label include Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, the Duke Quartet, choral group the Sixteen, Harry Christophers and Joanna MacGregor. Collins Classics also recorded over 130 albums with world renowned orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Munich Symphony Orchestra and many more.

Graciela Naranjo was born in Maiquetía, Vargas. Orphaned at seven, she was moved to Caracas to be raised by her aunt. She started to sing Christmas music in a church choral group at age nine, then made her professional debut at Broadcasting Caracas when she was only 15. Largely self- taught, she had a warm contralto voice as her innovative behind-the-beat phrasing and emotional intensity that she put into the words she sang, served to turn novelty tunes and light songs into definitive, bolero-based treatments.
Hall was born in Pottstown, a Pennsylvania borough from Philadelphia to a family of German descent. His parents each had a background in music; his father came from a choral-group clan and his mother was a vocal coach. He started recording while still a student at Owen J. Roberts High School, from which he graduated in 1964. In college at Temple University in Philadelphia, he majored in music, while continuing to record, working with Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff as both an artist and a session musician.
Sparkle Time, which ran on CBS in 1946–47, was Willson's first full-season radio program. Returning to network radio after WWII, Willson created the Talking People, a choral group that spoke in unison while delivering radio commercials. He also became the musical director for The Big Show, a comedy- variety program hosted by actress Tallulah Bankhead and featuring some of the world's best-known entertainers. In 2007, Elevation partnered with Maryland Public Television to produce "Celtic Origins," a national PBS music television program featuring the original Riverdance choir, Anuna. The program which aired throughout the United States, included a companion soundtrack that reached #1 on the Billboard World Music Chart. In 2008, Elevation and MPT teamed up again with Anuna to air "Christmas Memories." The Christmas Memories soundtrack reached #90 on the Billboard Top 200 Pop Albums Chart, an unprecedented feat for a medieval choral group who featured many songs in non-English languages.

Robbins became the manager of The Gaslight Cafe, a former folk music club in New York City's Greenwich Village, during the late 1960s. The club saw performances by well known musicians early in their careers, including Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt and Bruce Springsteen. Robbins also became active within other sectors of the Greenwich Village community, including as the choir director of the Church of St. Joseph in Greenwich Village. He also founded the Occasional Singers, a choral group which performed "avant garde" music, according to the New York Times.
The University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors (UPSA) is a choral group from the Philippines. In its 35 years of existence, UPSA has won various prizes and awards in competitions in Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Wales, Hungary and Switzerland. UPSA was also the official entry of the Philippines to the UNESCO International Music Prize in 2005. In the Philippines, it was named the Best University Choir in 2012 and 2004 at the “Who’s Who in the Philippines” 19th and 27th Consumers’ Choice Awards, respectively.
The Texas A&M; University Singing Cadets The Texas A&M; Singing Cadets are a male choral group at Texas A&M; University. Nicknamed "The Voice of Aggieland", the Singing Cadets have been touring for 109 seasons, with their roots in a glee club founded on the A&M; campus in 1893. The Singing Cadets are one of the oldest collegiate singing organizations in the world. They have toured both in America and abroad and have earned recognition by doing so, including invitations to sing for American presidents.
Mil's nine grown children and grandchildren reside in Europe, the Philippines, the U.S.A. and Canada. Mil and his wife, Enriqueta, moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1990. Although already retired from the Philippine musical circle, Mil continued to offer his services and musical genius to the Philippine Choral group in Edmonton where, as Musical Director, he mentored and provided musical assistance, even composed songs, for their annual concerts from 1991-2000. He also led the Visayas/Mindanao Association (VISMIN) choir in Edmonton where various activities are organized by Filipinos, most notably, the Sto.
She also worked as a choirmaster and arranger of music, most notably of an Israeli-Canadian peace song, Lay Down Your Arms. She also conducted the YMHA Choral Group, the Toronto Hadassah Women's Choir (1967-74), and the J.C.C. Singers (1980s), who recorded folk songs in 1984. In 1971 and 1973, with three of her children, she recorded Let's Sing English Songs, a collection of 52 songs for distribution in Japan by the Tokyo Kodomo Club. She was also co-founder (along with Eli Rubenstein) and conductor of the Habonim Youth Choir.
Mdletshe Albert Mazibuko is a member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a South African choral group founded in 1960 - and still led - by his cousin Joseph. Albert was born in Ladysmith, South Africa, and was the eldest of six sons; the others being Milton, Funokwakhe, Mehlo, Abednego, and Joseph Mazibuko. He grew up on a farm. Although his father believed in the importance of education it was necessary for Albert to leave school early and he worked full-time on the farm between the ages of eight and fifteen.
Benson was born in Detroit in 1924, and was a graduate of Cass Technical High School. He was a professional performer by the age of 14, when he played timpani in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra under Ormandy, Reiner, Goossens, Bernstein, and others while an undergraduate at the University of Michigan. From 1950–1952, Benson was awarded two successive Fulbright grants to teach at Anatolia College in Salonika, Greece. There he established a five-year bilingual music curriculum and organized the Anatolia College Chorale, the first scholastic co-educational choral group in that country.

Liberation Suite formed early in the Jesus Music era, prior to 1971 in San Marcos, Texas. The group got their start as a backup band for a choral group called Sound 70 based in San Marcos, Texas, but began traveling with evangelist Bill Lowery and the Christ is the Answer tent ministry in 1973. In 1974 they moved for six months to Northern Ireland, which was at that time war-torn by The Troubles. Here they ran what was essentially a street concert ministry, as well as playing many concerts in schools, colleges, and large concert halls.

In 1995 Ladysmith Black Mambazo released their album Homeless in Australia on Pierson's Laser Music label in conjunction with distributor Dino Entertainment. The South African choral group rose to prominence after working with Paul Simon on his 1986 album, Graceland. Homeless went platinum, selling 80,000 copies after Pierson struck a deal with a national advertising company for one of the tracks, "Nomathemba", to be used in an advertisement for Nestlé's Nescafé Gold Blend. In August 1996, following discussions with musician David Hudson, and his manager and wife, Cindy Hudson, Pierson formed the Indigenous Australia record label.
The Cambridge Singers is an English mixed voice chamber choir formed in 1981 by their director John Rutter with the primary purpose of making recordings under their own label Collegium Records. The group initially comprised former singers from the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge, where Rutter had previously been the music director. They have been involved in the last four Fresh Aire albums (about "mankind's curiosities") of the Mannheim Steamroller band, by composer Chip Davis, but they are primarily a classical choral group. They have recorded several highly acclaimed Christmas albums, including Christmas Day in the Morning,1993\.
The tour roster featured Stewart Copeland performing with a diverse group of international musicians including: Percussion de Guinnea, a leading drum group from Africa; Vinx, who recently toured with Sting; and Ray Lema, an original performer on the Rhythmatist album and video. Starting in 1998, Uakti recorded fewer original compositions and concentrated on adaptations of classical music and of Brazilian popular songs. The soundtrack of the 1998 film Kenoma, by Eliana Caffé, used mostly compositions by Heitor Villa-Lobos. In 2000 they recorded an album of popular songs with the choral group Tabinha, from Minas Gerais.

In between all these activities Pat, with a strong love of music, found time to teach the piano, organ and keyboard. At one time she even played for a choral group appropriately named the Condamine Belles. Following Pat's diagnosis with macular degeneration in the early 1990s, her sight has deteriorated to a world of blurred images and shapes with some very very minor peripheral vision.
The Tudor Consort is a specialist early choral group based in Wellington, New Zealand. Depending on repertoire the group can range in size from 5 to 25 members. The group was formed in 1986 by Simon Ravens with the intention of performing lesser-known choral music from the late Medieval and Renaissance periods, laying special emphasis on English sixteenth century music. The repertoire performed by the Consort made it, in the words of the local media of the time, occupy "a unique position in [New Zealand's] musical life" and that it was "one of New Zealand's musical wonders".
The Portland Gay Men's Chorus at 2016 Portland Pride The Portland Gay Men's Chorus (PGMC) is a gay-identified, non-profit choral group based in Portland, Oregon. The group was founded in the spring of 1980 when three founding members, inspired by a performance of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, placed an ad in a local gay newspaper looking for potential members. Soon after, on June 19, 1980, the group sang in their inaugural concert at the Metropolitan Community Church of Portland. PGMC is the fourth oldest chorus to publicly identify as gay by using that description in their official name.
Incarnation offered Gym, Art and Music classes for each grade and students took advantage of a full-time guidance program. Incarnation students participated in many diverse extracurricular activities such as yearbook, newspaper, Altar Boy Society, choral group, cheerleading, spelling bee, foreign mission activities, a school service program, art contest, talent show, author's day, and the production of an Instructional Television program. Incarnation also offered a sports program under the direction of future principal Ted Staniecki. Students in 3rd – 8th grade participated in intramural basketball, boys and girls junior and varsity basketball teams, track competitions and baseball teams.
As a student at Sillim Middle School (1973–76), Ki began writing poetry after one of his sisters was murdered in an act of violence perpetrated by a congregation (church) member. Besides writing, he was active as a baritone in a school choral group called "Mokdong" and regularly won prizes at school literary composition contests. After graduating from Jungang High School in 1979, Ki entered Yonsei University as a student in Political Law. He joined the campus literary group "Yonsei Literature Club" (연세문학회) and received commendation from the campus newspaper for a short novel detailing his unhappy family life.
From 1914 until 1917, Bina Mossman's Glee Club rehearsed under Queen Liliuokalani's supervision at Washington Place. According to her 1971 account for the Watamull Foundation Oral History Project, at the Queen's lying in state and funeral, the glee club was chosen to be part of the kahili bearers who stood watch over her body for two hours at a time, waving the kahilis and singing Liliuokalani's compositions. In the 1950s she formed the Kaahumanu Choral Group, an all female group composed of mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers. They were billed as being direct descendants of Hawaiian royalty.
Thulani Shabalala (born 1968) is a member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a South African choral group founded in 1960 by his father Joseph. Thulani was born in Ladysmith (eMnambithi district) to Joseph and his wife Nellie. In 1976, Joseph brought together his six sons to form Mshengu White Mambazo, Ladysmith's 'junior choir', in which Thulani sung as one of the bass voices. After the murder of his uncle Headman Shabalala in December 1991 and the retirement of several other members (Inos Phungula, Geophrey Mdletshe and Ben Shabalala), Joseph later recruited Thulani and his brothers Sibongiseni, Thamsanqa and Msizi.
The Cleveland Music School Settlement, which continues to operate today as The Music Settlement, grew to include music instruction, music therapy, and other services at both its main location and several outreach sites. Adams was dedicated to making music instruction available to children and adults and focused on making lessons and other services accessible to underprivileged individuals. From its inception, The Cleveland Music Settlement School provided free and low-cost instruction to better serve the community. Along with the establishment of the Cleveland Music School Settlement, Adams also directed the Schumann Society from 1918 to 1931, which was a choral group for working girls.

She played with David Gilmour during his 2002 solo tour dates, and on his album On an Island. She appears on the David Gilmour in Concert DVD which was recorded at Robert Wyatt's Meltdown concert and the Royal Festival Hall concert, both in 2002. In 2008, she appeared, playing solo cello, at Ron Geesin's 2 performances of the "Atom Heart Mother Suite", with Pink Floyd tribute band Mun Floyd, the Royal College Brass Ensemble, and the choral group Canticum.
"Siyahamba" originated in South Africa, possibly as a Zulu folk song that was written down by Andries Van Tonder, an elder of the Judith Church, and was passed on to his great grandsons, Andrew and Zachariah O' Tonder, from Ireland who now have the original paper that the song was written down on. The paper is from 1952, 3 years before Andries Van Tonder died. In 1978, the Swedish choral group Fjedur toured South Africa at the invitation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Africa. It was during this tour that Fjedur's musical director, , heard and recorded "Siyahamba" at a girls' school in Appelsbosch, Natal.
Early Irish poetry and song has been translated into modern Irish and English by notable Irish poets, song collectors and musicians. The 6th century hymn Rop tú mo baile by Dallán Forgaill for example, was published in 1905 in English by Mary Elizabeth Byrne, and is widely known as Be Thou My Vision. The Blackbird of Belfast Lough (; ) has been notably translated by poets such as Seamus Heaney, Ciaran Carson and Frank O'Connor. Notable recordings of modern interpretations of early Irish music include Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin's Songs of the Scribe, various music albums by choral group Anúna, and the recordings of Caitríona O'Leary with Dúlra and the eX Ensemble.
José Vinicio Adames Piñero (March 1, 1927 – September 3, 1976) was a Venezuelan musician, and director of choral groups. He performed as a member of popular group Adames Trio with his sisters Yolanda and Shirley. He led a number of choral groups, including the UCV University Choir, the Chamber Orchestra of the Central University of Venezuela, the Chamber Orchestra of the University of Carabobo, the Panama Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra of Caracas, the Shell Choir, the Choral of the Social Security, the Metropolitan Choral Group and the Central Bank of Venezuela Choral. He also wrote original choral pieces and arranged folk music.

Born in Detroit at just prior to the Great Depression, Dennard acquired an early love of music and began playing piano at age 11. He attended Detroit Public Schools and moved on to Wayne State University where he received a Master of Arts degree in Music Education. While in the U.S. armed services, he organized a choral group of enlisted men and their wives.. While a teacher in the Detroit Public schools, Dennard held the position of Fine Arts Department Head at Southwestern High School and Director of Music Education He retired from this position in 1989. Throughout his career, Dennard served in many roles, including guest conductor, clinician, lecturer, and church choirmaster.
Musical setting by Irving Caesar A musical setting for "The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag" was created by Irving Caesar, at the suggestion of Congressman Louis C. Rabaut whose House Resolution 243 to add the phrase "under God" was signed into law on Flag Day, June 14, 1954. The composer, Irving Caesar, wrote and published over 700 songs in his lifetime. Dedicated to social issues, he donated all rights of the musical setting to the U.S. government, so that anyone can perform the piece without owing royalties. It was sung for the first time on the floor of the House of Representatives on Flag Day, June 14, 1955 by the official Air Force choral group the "Singing Sergeants".
Headman Msongelwa Shabalala (10 October 1945 - 10 December 1991) was a member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a South African choral group founded by his brother Joseph. Headman was born in Ladysmith, in the eMnambithi area and grew up with his brothers Joseph, Jockey, Enoch, Makhosini and Ben. In 1960, he joined the first incarnation of his brother Joseph's group and became a full- time member alongside his brother Enoch and various cousins and relatives. Singing as a bass voice, Headman added sounds to the songs that would become synonymous with the group's rhythm; the low gruffs and growls and the "clicking" noises (today, they are sounded by Russel Mthembu and Sibongiseni Shabalala, respectively).
To finish the year, Anúna visited Japan, a trip which included concerts and workshops. This tour also included a high-profile visit to the area affected by the tsunami of 2011 and Fukushima. In April 2012, Anúna participated in the premiere of Philip Hammond's Requiem for the Lost Souls of the Titanic at St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast.irishcentral.com To celebrate their 25th anniversary in June 2012 Anúna released their new album Illumination, a fifteen track CDAnúna Website News and, in May, featured on the soundtrack to the video game Diablo III. Blizzard Entertainment's audio director, Russell Brower says "Working somewhat against conventional expectations, Hell is a beautiful and seductive sound, provided by Dublin’s uniquely astounding choral group ANÚNA".
Yale College has been called "the epicenter of college singing," both for its long history of singing groups and its centrality in establishing collegiate a cappella in the United States. The earliest choral group, the Beethoven Society, dates to 1812 and emerged in the mid-nineteenth century as the Yale Glee Club. Although glee clubs around the country had spawned small collegiate ensembles since that time, the all-senior, all-male Whiffenpoofs, formed in 1909, are often considered to be the oldest collegiate a cappella society in the United States. Formalizing a style pioneered by black barbershop groups in New Haven, their repertoire was amplified by the founding of similar groups across the country.
It was while in Lagos, he formed the Laz Ekwueme National Chorale that was a highly respected African choral group. Before its relocation to Los Angeles, Charles did some singing on the radio show, Your Hit Parade. In 1950, when the show returned to New York, he became the arranger and conductor of the Hit Paraders, the choral group on the show, first on radio and later when it went to television, for seven years. Charles never got screen credit for his work as arranger and choral director of the Hit Paraders because the sponsor of Your Hit Parade was Lucky Strike and he was already getting a choral-director credit on The Perry Como Chesterfield Show. Lucky Strike and Chesterfield were competitors and Como's Chesterfield show aired three times a week on CBS.
" Shindo was charged with blending Japanese and western musical influences, using Japanese instruments and a mixed choral group of 38 voices of which 16 were female Japanese and four were male Japanese. Ron Burton, in an article distributed by the United Press, wrote of Shindo's work on the film: "The movie is being regarded as a vehicle that will create a demand for Japanese music in this country and do much to give the Western world a better understanding of Japanese culture." Shindo added, "An important part of what this picture is doing for an understanding of Japanese culture comes from the music. We have, of course, adapted it for the occidental ear.
With the time limitation of about 3:30 on a 10" 78-rpm record his 7:57 long recording was released on Columbia's Masterwork label (the classical division) as two sides of a 12" record. The song is extremely unusual in that it requires the singer to sing solo (and occasionally speak) for a full seven-and-a-half minutes, in the manner of an operatic aria, without the benefit of an accompanying choral group "taking up the slack", as is usually the case in long musical numbers (e.g. Ol' Man River). The lengthy song Glitter and Be Gay, from Leonard Bernstein's Candide, makes a similar requirement of the soprano performing it.
The 2008 production of South Pacific was complemented by the performance of Garreth Kinsella, a Transition Year student in G.C.S. Gorey Choral Group, a mixed-voice choir founded in the 1970s, has participated in a number of contests and won the first plan in the jazz and popular music section of the 2016 Cork International Choral Festival. For 15 years during the 1970s and early 1980s, the Gorey Arts Festival, organised by local artist Paul Funge, was held in the town during the summer. Performers at the festival included U2, Horslips, Chris de Burgh, Christy Moore, Planxty, Makem and Clancy, Niall Tóibín and Eamon Morrissey. Every year, varying from late July to early August, Gorey's main street closes over several days for the Market House Festival.

The Margaree's of Cape Breton also serve as a large contributor of fiddle music celebrated throughout the island. This traditional fiddle music of Cape Breton is studied by musicians around the world, where its global recognition continues to rise. The Men of the Deeps are a male choral group of current and former miners from the industrial Cape Breton area.

Patrice has been recently inducted into the Austin/Texas Music Hall of Fame when she also won Musician of the Year, Best Female Vocalist, and Song of the year in Austin for her song "Beautiful Thing", which she debuted on the CBS primetime television series Rock Star. She has performed in tours and festivals including Lilith Fair and H.O.R.D.E. tour to music festival institutions like Austin City Limits, High Sierra, Strawberry, and Kerrville festivals. In 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013, she has also appeared as a Special Guest Artist with the Grammy- nominated choral group Conspirare. Patrice has been known to participate regularly in social and environmental activism and she is also the co-founder and acting executive director of The Step Onward Foundation, an organization that provides services for young adult survivors of homelessness.
She went on to perform in several marching bands after she moved to Thousand Oaks, California, where she also performed as the lead actor in the musical The Pirates of Penzance. After several lead roles in musicals and plays such as Grease, Li'l Abner, and King David, she was selected for the choral group Singers, as well as the Indian Hills Choir in Lincoln, Nebraska. At the same time, she finished first in the state in the Nebraska for Poetry Interpretation at the Nebraska State's Speech competition and fourth in the nation.
