Livesey was exposed as an impostor when investigations following his conviction found that the references submitted by the veterans were based on false claims that Livesey had made to them. He was subsequently charged with perverting the course of justice by police, and admitted to lying about his army career, but denied he was aware the references were submitted.

Kevin Patrick Smith (born August 2, 1970) is an American filmmaker, actor, comedian, public speaker, comic book writer, author, and podcaster. He came to prominence with the low-budget comedy film Clerks (1994), which he wrote, directed, co-produced, and acted in as the character Silent Bob of stoner duo Jay and Silent Bob. Jay and Silent Bob also appeared in Smith's later films Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which are set primarily in his home state of New Jersey. While not strictly sequential, the films have crossover plot elements, character references, and a shared canon known as the "View Askewniverse", named after Smith's production company View Askew Productions, which he co- founded with Scott Mosier.

After the escape, 1635: A Parcel of Rogues follows Cromwell and others in a return to the Fens to search for his children. The Morganville Vampires novels feature a character heavily implied to be Cromwell as a vampire in a modern day Texan town ran by vampires. The character of Oliver's surname is never stated but he is English, his birth year and place are given and are the same as Cromwell's, the year he turned into a vampire is the same as Cromwell's death year and the character is mentioned to have been ill at the time, and another character references Drogheda while speaking to him on one occasion. A minor but important character in Robert Wilton's Traitor's Field, this novel starts with the aftermath of the Battle of Preston in 1648 until Charles II's flight into exile on the continent; it was published by Corvus, an imprint of Atlantic Books, on May 1, 2013 (UK).

On the following day a letter from Dr. de Faria was published in the Advertiser in which he denied that he was running away or trying to hide his identity and accused Dr. Alvarez of professional jealousy because he had refused to enter into a partnership with Alvarez. However, he did not deny running away with another man's wife, merely stating that he would take up that matter when the sheriff came to get him. A few days later the Advertiser carried Dr. Alvarez's rebuttal to Dr. de Faria's letter in which he countered that he could hardly have thought of offering a partnership to a man he did not know. He also contended that Dr. de Faria did not use his own name on arriving in Honolulu and brought no character references with him, in spite of knowing that he would have to produce such references in order to be granted a license to practice medicine.

The core rules were a revised version of the earlier Heritage Star Trek RPG (Star Trek: Adventure Gaming in the Final Frontier), with extra material on skills, Star Fleet organization, ranks and uniforms, plus updates from the two movies, but with specific character references omitted to produce a generic design that included terms like "Vulcan Science Officer", "Klingon Soldier", but left in Trek-specific terms like Phaser and Warp Drive (though the Klingon, Romulan and Kzinti sample characters retained their original names). The rulesbook contained two rules sets; the adventures for individuals were covered in the adventure game rules called "The Landing Party," and the starship conflict rules were explained in the "Starflight" section. "The Landing Party" contains rules for adventures by the starship crew who have left the spaceship to explore the surface of an unexplored and usually primitive planet.
