She scolds Jo violently for thinking of marrying so young, one of her occasional bursts of real feeling and concern for her daughter. Asked by Jo about her real father, Helen explains that she had been married to a "Puritan" and that she had to look elsewhere for sexual pleasure.

She catches a glimpse of the killer in the elevator's convex mirror, and subsequently becomes both the prime suspect and the killer's next target. Dr. Elliott receives a bizarre message on his answering machine from "Bobbi", a transgender patient. Bobbi taunts the psychiatrist for breaking off their therapy sessions, apparently because Elliott refuses to sign the necessary papers for Bobbi to get sex reassignment surgery. Elliott tries to convince Dr. Levy, the patient's new doctor, that Bobbi is a danger to herself and others.

While at the Buy More, Ellie is approached by Justin Sullivan, whom she and Devon met while in Africa. Justin poses as a CIA agent and warns her that he is attempting to protect her father from dangerous men, and that Casey may be one of them. Ellie grows suspicious of Casey's closeness to the family, particularly when Casey offers his help in treating Devon's Ring-inflicted case of "malaria." As Ellie takes him up on his offer, she catches a glimpse of his personal arsenal.

When Terry grows tired of Janine's manipulation, she decides to change tactics and makes an attempt to seduce him. Furious, Terry throws her out onto the street. Soon after, Terry decides that he's had enough of Walford and in 2002 he decides to leave in search of his wife Irene, who is supposedly still travelling around Portugal.

The Endless Nightmare: Reiji successfully escapes back to Japan and resumes his normal, everyday life with his family. One day, he catches a glimpse of Ein amidst a crowd, apparently having survived and presumably sent to terminate him. However, Reiji isn't completely sure what he saw was real or just a figment of his imagination, for he now feels as if he is living in a dream and can't get rid of his fear that he will wake up to the "real world" where he is an assassin.

Father John returns to the red-light district and speaks to a prostitute named Miriam (Greta Oglesby), who suggests a powerful pimp named James St. Clair (Ansa Akyea) might know about the woman. As they speak in a bar, the mysterious prostitute enters and solicits a john (Patrick Coyle), who leaves with her immediately. As she goes, Father John catches a glimpse of the crucifix she is wearing and tries to chase her down.

On the roof, Harrigan shoots the crazed gang leader and catches a glimpse of the camouflaged Predator but dismisses it as a consequence of the extreme heat and his acrophobia. At the station, Harrigan is reprimanded by his superiors for his disobedience. Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Jimmy (Jeremy Jordan) have just spent the night together when Karen's dad Roger (Dylan Baker) arrives and Karen gets Jimmy to leave by the fire escape (Roger catches a glimpse of him). Roger attends Hit List rehearsals (for an upcoming fundraiser for their sponsor Manhattan Theater Project) where Karen reprises "Broadway, Here I Come". Roger tells his daughter he thinks she made a mistake leaving Bombshell; she tries to convince him otherwise. Roger thinks Derek (Jack Davenport) is the one he saw leaving the apartment and treats him coldly.

The group arrives at the DKO fraternity where Riley catches a glimpse of a strange ritual involving new pledges for DKO and a black goo leaking out of the Calvin Hawthorne bust. She also stumbles across Helena about to be sexually assaulted by one of the frat boys. Riley intervenes and sends a tipsy Helena home. Riley takes Helena's place in the talent show and upon seeing Brian in the crowd, performs a song with her sorority sisters blasting the rape culture at the fraternity and stating that Brian did rape Riley.

Later that evening, while going to their home to apologize, Homer catches a glimpse of Bashir's father working with TNT in his garage. He goes home and has a nightmare featuring the Genie of Aladdin, who transforms the "decadent, Western society" into a stereotypical Islamic republic. Shaken by the dream, Homer eavesdrops on Bashir's father speaking about his work in building demolition, but misinterprets it and believes he is a suicide bomber. As soon as Bashir's father departs for work, Homer convinces the mother to invite him so he can apologize.

He gave her everything that she wanted, and he even gave her Palaestrio! At this time, Acroteleutium has come out of the house and begun to describe what she is feeling for the soldier – namely, how she can't take it anymore, and how her eyes will cut off her tongue when she catches a glimpse of him. The two meet, and Acroteleutium tells Pyrgopolynices to come to her husband's house. Pyrgopolynices is hesitant in this, but she explains that it was in her dowry that she is the one who gets to keep the house.

When Victor arrives at a party, he finds the other guests listening with varying degrees of engagement to a man named Wolfe play the piano. David is drowning, when he feels someone miraculously save him and put him ashore. When the other Reckoners return to him, Jon is missing, and it's understood that Prof had to use his powers to stave off Obliteration, but it's also understood that the Epic was not defeated. While escaping to a submarine with the others, David catches a glimpse of Megan in wet clothes in a crowd, and soon realizes that she saved him. The Reckoners' submarine takes them to an underwater mansion, where they are hidden from Regalia's view.

Born on Maltus, Krona is an Oan scientist who became obsessed with observing the origins of the universe itself, despite an ancient legend that said discovering that secret would cause a great calamity. Krona constructs a machine that pierces the temporal barrier and views the beginnings of time itself. Krona catches a glimpse of the hand of creation depositing the speck that would become the entire cosmos. His machine explodes at that instant, and the universe is shattered causing the creation of the Multiverse as the universe replicates into an infinite number of parallel universes.

Red Coat lands in a helicopter, and Spencer catches a glimpse of her face and says "Ali?". The girl in the red coat drags everyone out of the house, and Hanna wakes up, face-to-face with Alison. Although 3 of the girls (Spencer, Hanna, Mona) claim to have seen Ali, it is still not 100% sure that it was her, because it is possible it could have been a hallucination due to the effects of the fire. They drive and see Wilden's car dug up from the lake.

Walter accidentally catches a glimpse of a letter from St. Claire's mental hospital in Olivia's coat; the letter is a request for Olivia's recommendation as to whether Walter should be reinstitutionalized or not. Arriving at Cameron's apartment, they find he has changed names and will not be back until the next day. Olivia sets Walter up in a hotel room to spend the night, but he suffers from a panic attack fearing the germs and contaminants in the room. He also reveals that his wife, Elizabeth Bishop (Orla Brady), killed herself much earlier in this timeline, just after Peter died.

Eventually Jacqueline is haunted by her past, as her picture turns up in a tabloid newspaper, and her husband catches a glimpse of his new bride's flamboyant previous mistakes. Jacqueline's younger sister, June (Joyce Howard), decides to help her older sister out to save her marriage from falling apart. She takes the blame and tells Michael that she is the one who has fooled around in the recent past. However, this information gives her problems of her own, as it finds its way to her own romantic interests, and threatens to destroy her own love life.

But while attempting to steal data from the House of Diamonds, he sets of an alarm. Before he can escape, he is confronted again by Erin Iylesviel and captured - but during the battle, he catches a glimpse of Jay leaving the facility. Within Station Aris, an order is given for people to be sent out of the Station to capture "specimens" from the outside to test the effectiveness of a drug that the Stations have developed to Counter Gene-X. In the Country, a meeting of the royalty is called - and Cloud finds that Eleanor has disappeared.

Zimmy (Ali Tabish) and Tina (Resham) belong to middle-class families; live and study in Dubai, and fall in love after initial indecisiveness. Zimmy becomes a famous singer thanks to Tina who appears in his first music video as a friendly-cum-romantic gesture. Seth Tahir Dawood (Nadeem) in Bangkok catches a glimpse of Tina on TV and asks his personal secretary, played by Kanwal, to arrange his meeting with her. The secretary is helped by Sweetie (Sajid Hasan), Tina's brother - a drunkard and a gambler - who manages to convince her mother that the 40-something Seth is the perfect match for Tina.

He also bonds with Raju Thalikote, who is a self declared veteran of the asylum. Manu soon discloses his story to Shankrappa, who advises him to talk to Dollar, who in turn has always had an uncanny knack to escape from the asylum. Soon, Manu manages to slip out, but during his escape, which takes him through the female wing of the asylum, he catches a glimpse of Devika (played by Aindrita Ray) and is smitten by her. Although he escapes, he changes his mind and returns to the asylum to pursue a relationship with her.

Max (Vincent Cassel) is a former bohemian and an amateur writer who gets a job in New York and leaves his girlfriend Lisa (Monica Bellucci), with whom he was madly in love, in mysterious circumstances. After two years, he returns home to Paris, and decides to settle down and gets engaged to Muriel (Sandrine Kiberlain). By chance, he catches a glimpse of his lost love, Lisa, in a café, but fails to make contact with her before she storms out. Determined to meet her, Max secretly cancels his business trip abroad to pursue his lost love.

Francis also admits that he suffers from panic attacks. Julian eventually comes to understand the group's culpability in Bunny's murder when he catches a glimpse of the logo of the hotel Bunny and Henry stayed at in Rome on a letter from Bunny imploring Julian to help him, which he had initially dismissed as being written by another student on the campus as part of a joke. Instead of reporting the crime to the authorities, Julian leaves the faculty at Hampden College and never returns. Henry begins living with Camilla, which drives Charles further into alcoholism.

Terese informs Myron that ten years previously, her only daughter with Rick, Miriam, was killed in a car accident that led to Terese and Rick's divorce. After nearly being kidnapped, Myron catches a glimpse of a teenage blonde girl who resembles Terese and wonders if perhaps Miriam's death was faked. Myron sees the same girl again and follows her into a house in London. There, he is ambushed by terrorists who kill Rick's second wife. After murdering the lead terrorist, Myron is taken to a “black site,” a secret interrogation facility maintained by the United States government to torture suspected terrorists.

Robert catches a glimpse of one of Pitman's horrific paintings of ghouls attacking commuters on a subway, and Pitman offers to show him his 'technique' in the hope it will make Robert better understand his perilous situation. He takes him down to his basement and introduces him to a ghoul called King George. Afterwards, Robert convinces himself that Pitman has merely demonstrated the same form of hypnotic suggestion which he believes Elspeth must have used on him. Pitman realizes he's failed to make Robert understand the truth, and suggests he visit local author, Randall Carver, whom he hopes might do a better job.

Kawai catches a glimpse of a non-human monster within a fissure before it disappears. Meanwhile, Bowen and his team find out that the strange boy is growing in size due to an intake of protein. Afraid of his strength, the scientists lock and chain the boy in a cage and Sueko, who cares for him, feeds him some protein-filled food to sustain him. Bowen is visited by Kawai, who tells him that the boy could have grown from the heart of Frankenstein's monster, as the boy was seen in Hiroshima more than once before.

Crusie appears to give credence to this theory, describing Cal's "light-headed" moments when he catches a glimpse of Min's new red lace bra, before shattering it when Cal tells - and shows - Min that he finds her equally attractive in scruffy sweats as in fancy lace. Despite what her mother has consistently told her, Min learns that a man will love her despite her lingerie and despite her weight. Cal is also shown as fighting against stereotypical gender norms. His acquaintances believe him to be a womanizer and expect him to continue to act in that manner.

Also in the same episode, she catches a glimpse of the girl in the red coat who is the leader of The 'A' Team, but fails to catch up with her. In the episode "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" she finds Toby's dead body and tells him, "I love you". Upon learning of Varvara Pavlovna's sudden appearance, Liza decides to join a remote convent and lives out the rest of her days as a nun. Lavretsky visits her at the convent one time and catches a glimpse of her as she is walking from choir to choir. The novel ends with an epilogue which takes place eight years later, in which Lavretsky returns to Liza's house and finds that, although many things have changed, there are elements such as the piano and the garden that are the same. Lavretsky finds comfort in his memories and is able to see the meaning and even the beauty in his personal pain.

After the funeral, Ed becomes disheartened by the fact that the producers want him to stay on longer and that he cannot do anything to change their minds or he would be in breach of his contract. Ed is depressed until he catches a glimpse of Shari (in disguise wearing a wig and sunglasses). He chases her for a long time until she stops in the women's bathroom in a movie theater. She says she is staying with her brother as it is his birthday and she just wanted to see Ed. Ed vows to find a way to end the show to be with Shari.

Ben recognized the puncture marks in the shirt as the same marks that were on the hairless boy's back when they recovered the body from the banks of the Narrows. Meanwhile, Brandy hears a noise outside at night, and when she goes to see about it, she catches a glimpse of the pale, vampire-like creature Matthew had become, before he vanishes through the cornfield. A second boy, Billy Leary, disappears under similar circumstances, while other people in Stillwater claim to have seen visages of their dead loved ones while others are attacked by pale, childlike creatures in the night. Billy's father, Bob Leary, hears a noise in his fireplace.

Although sharing a degree of intimacy that allows them to share each other's space, they avoid a sexual or objectifying gaze: "They look into each other's eyes and argue ideas, rather than gazing at each other's bodies." This status quo is challenged in this episode as the objectifying gaze is highlighted and deconstructed, although not between the partners themselves. According to Wilcox and Williams, a key scene involves Agent Scully and Lanny. When Lanny goes to wake Scully in her trailer one morning, he catches a glimpse of her breasts; she inadvertently exposes herself as she in turn catches sight of Lanny's uncovered parasitic twin; "each gaze involves the objectification of difference".

During a search for the pair, Nikki falls into the island's well, where she finds the severed heads of Skip and Arch, along with the dead body of Nan.

At one point he is taken aback to meet Martin Fells, a friend who lost two fingers of his left hand near the Rhine in 1945 but has an uninjured left hand in the parallel universe. Trafford also catches a glimpse of his late wife Della, who in the original timeline died after a year of what he calls "satisfactory marriage", but who in the alternate world is alive, accompanied by another man, and does not recognise him. As Trafford discovers, his counterpart is a successful author. Looking through the counterpart's best-selling novels, he discovers a streak of brutality that becomes increasingly pronounced from book to book, making him resent seeing his name on their covers.

While talking through a mirror, Lucifer tries to persuade Sam to embrace their union by slaughtering demons that were watching Sam throughout his entire life. During Lucifer's confrontation at Stull Cemetery with Michael (using Adam as his vessel), he beats Dean, slamming him against the door of the Impala. As Lucifer is about to deliver a fatal blow, he catches a glimpse of a toy soldier stuck in the car's ash tray triggering Sam's memory of jamming the soldier in there as a boy. The sudden arousal of Sam's childhood memories and those of the bond of brotherhood he shares with Dean allows him to overpower Lucifer and regain control of his body.

The other four are skeptical but Kristof insists. they use a ouija board and Allie is temporarily possessed by a witch’s spirit but claims she’s fine afterwards while Bill, Jeff, and Kat try to set up their scare outside. Meanwhile, the ouija board resurrects the three executioners, Sickle, Mace, and Scythe, named here for the weapons they carry. Calvin catches a glimpse of Jeff as he walks past a window so he and Kristof search the grounds, leaving Michele and Rory to watch Allie. Jeff is possessed by a witch & immobilized and Sickle decapitates him; Kat’s possessed and Scythe cuts her throat. Rory and Michele leave Allie instead and find the old caretaker’s bedroom to have sex and do cocaine.

Attack of the Mutant Penguins is a tower defense video game developed by Sunrise Games and originally published by Atari Corporation for the Atari Jaguar first in Europe on December 20, 1995 and later in North America on December 29 of the same year. When an evil race of aliens catches a glimpse of an animal tv show while monitoring broadcasts from Earth, they decide to disguise themselves as penguins to take over the world. As soon as their plan is revealed, two intergalactic beings are sent to defend the planet alongside the real penguins against the invasion. Attack of the Mutant Penguins was first showcased at the European Computer Trade Show, where attendees mistook it for a Jeff Minter title due to its off-beat style.

In "Knowing Something", the Doctor catches a glimpse of Irimiás and his companions' arrival before he blacks out in the forest. In the three middle chapters, concerning Estike's death, the villagers burst into an impromptu feast at the tavern in fear of the approaching moment of Irimiás' arrival. Precisely because of their fright of him, as well as their inherent mistrust of their neighbours, they ignore Estike in the woods outside as she first watches from a window, proceeds to cry to the Doctor for help and subsequently kills herself. Further on, Irimiás makes use of his rhetoric to persuade the villagers to hand him all of the money they had earned at the collective farm, pledging them the guilt of Estike's death.

At the same time Quinn catches a glimpse of the neighbor, Elliot, in tears over the murder, and finds it puzzling compared to Dexter's relative lack of response. Faced with the arrangements for Rita's funeral, and having to talk with the FBI and telling the bad news to Rita's children, Dexter walks around in an absent-minded state, while he reminisces about the first time he met Rita, leaving it to Debra to make all the arrangements. While she cleans the site of the murder together with Quinn, the emotional pressure gets to her, and breaking down in front of him, the two end up having sex. Meanwhile, Dexter breaks it to Astor and Cody, who have arrived home from a trip to Disney World with their grandparents, that Rita has been killed.

As she crosses Hampstead Heath on her way home, she realises that she's being followed—and when she catches a glimpse of her pursuer, she recognises it as the Skang. The Skang is frightened off before it can attack her by the sudden arrival of an old man walking his dog. Meanwhile, the Doctor visits the Hampstead Heath police station to ask whether they have found any emaciated bodies in the vicinity; they have indeed found several bodies reduced to mere skin and bones, and they demand to know what the Doctor knows about the situation. He is eventually forced to call on Sergeant Benton to bail him out. The next morning, the Doctor confirms that the cultists’ drink contains a psychotropic drug, and the Brigadier agrees to investigate the possibility of alien involvement.

After an introduction by Gus while he retrieves ingredients for his hairy turkey sandwiches (which is a Leg from Vincent Price's corpse that he sliced in half), Donny stops by the guy's table at The Broken Stool where he annoys them with his sense of humor by telling some bad jokes. Back at the house, Rallo is preparing for his first sleepover at his friend's Walt's house but Cleveland Brown Jr. is disappointed as he is not allowed to come. At school, Roberta is taking a break from Federline Jones while he takes his SATs preparation classes when she catches a glimpse of Edwin Mullins, a new student. Noticing his pale, dark looks and a trickle of pizza sauce dribbling from his lips, Roberta gets the idea that Edwin could be a vampire.

2 #26 After the fire is put out, Karolina flies through the factory looking for survivors and comes across a bridge of rose vines through a hole in the wall and catches a glimpse of Klara as she runs away. Later that night, Karolina comes across some similar roses and spies into a window, where she sees young Klara about to be beaten by an older man for not selling the flowers for money, angering Karolina greatly. The next day, Karolina takes Molly with her to confront Klara about her powers, and tell her not to worry. When Molly asks if she'd like to join the team to get away from her abusive life, they are stunned to learn that it's not so easy for her, as the man Karolina saw was not her father, but her husband.

Diana and Leslie eventually learn Ruby's true identity and blab it about the ship before realising that she wanted to avoid attention, and when Brack realises who she really is he begins to act even more strangely. He seems to go out of his way to avoid her, but when she catches a glimpse of his cocktail napkin she finds that he's been obsessively drawing her face along with blueprints for a large cybernetic machine... Pamela Cutler joined the Army after her father's death, and has risen to the rank of General. She has now been assigned to Snowcap Tracking Station, where scientists are working on a project named FLIPback, the human race's defense against the reversal of the Earth's magnetic polarity. In the event of such a shift, FLIPback will do just what its name suggests.

" Ioana Pârvulescu also opines that, while Mateiu, whom his father credited with the least talent, was able to impose himself in Romanian literature, Luca's "vaguely Symbolist" poetry only displayed "the involuntary expressiveness that one finds in any first attempts." The verdict is common among other authors: Barbu Cioculescu and Ion Vartic mainly see young "Luki" as a mimetic and histrionic artist.
