During the following year, Apollo ceased production of 78 rpm records and its gospel recording program, concentrating on 45s for the pop market. Apollo produced many singles in this period by groups such as the Opals, the Romeos, the Gentlemen and the Casanovas, but few of these records made money.
Casa Batlló Among Gaudí's largest and most striking works is the Casa Batlló (1904–1906). Commissioned by Josep Batlló i Casanovas to renovate an existing building erected in 1875 by Emili Sala Cortés, Gaudí focused on the façade, the main floor, the patio and the roof, and built a fifth floor for the staff. For this project he was assisted by his aides Domènec Sugrañes, Joan Rubió and Josep Canaleta. The facade is of Montjuïc sandstone cut to create warped ruled surfaces; the columns are bone-shaped with vegetable decoration.

The albums Dive Bar Casanovas, Greasy Jazz, Dipsomania, Pretend It's Okay (which included a guest spot from Chris Gaffney), and Sordid Lives followed. All were recorded by either Buddy Blue or the Buddy Blue Band. Throughout his musical career, Seigal performed jump blues, a form of jazzy blues focused on uptempo rhythms and loud, boisterous vocals.
His next film Kika (1993) centres on the good-hearted, but clueless, makeup artist named Kika (Verónica Forqué) who gets herself tangled in the lives of an American writer (Peter Coyote) and his stepson (Àlex Casanovas). A fashion conscious TV reporter (Victoria Abril), who is constantly in search of sensational stories, follows Kika's misadventures. Almodóvar used Kika as a critique of mass media, particularly its sensationalism. The film is infamous for its rape scene that Almodóvar used for comic effect to set up a scathing commentary on the selfish and ruthless nature of media.
He spent some years exiled in Bolivia, Chile and lastly in Montevideo. He placed himself under the orders of general Urquiza, but it is not known if he fought at the Battle of Caseros where Rosas was defeated. He supported Urquiza's policies in Buenos Aires, and was in charge of a federal battalion. He was still very much hated by the Unitarian Party who were taking control of the city, and who would depose governor Vicente López y Planes in the September revolution which Casanovas did not get to see.
The General Chapter on 14 March 1887 in Sabadell did not even see her elected as Superior General or in a leadership position; this allowed her to continue setting up her order across the nation. The presence of the Piarist priests Jacinto Felíu and Agustín Casanovas proved to be to her benefit for their assistance allowed her to achieve the appropriate canonical structure of her order. The nun founded a total of seven schools in such cities as Figueras (1829) and Blanes (1854) as well as in Igualda (1849) and Masnou (1852).

Bárcenas was facing charges of corruption, and the title of the film refers to the Spanish term Caja B, meaning parallel accounting or a slush fund. The film was not widely distributed, but received recognition from the critics. At the Goya Awards (Spain's principal national film awards) the screenplay was nominated in the Best Adaptation category and there were nominations for two of the actors, Pedro Casablanc (Best Actor) and Manolo Solo (Best Supporting Actor).

Xammar talked to president Companys about breaking the Anarchist domination in the region. He also demanded that EC people get nominated to high positions in the Generalitat security; Companys did not seem interested. The second-in-command person in the autonomous Catalan structures, the prime minister and the parliament speaker Joan Casanovas, was more tractable; the EC member in the 1920s, later he remained in the ERC mainstream. He started to voice publicly about the need to reinforce the state and assume responsibility for bold action,Josep María Pascual, Un complot desconocido, [in:] Enric Ucelay-Da Cal, Arnau González i Vilalta (ed.), Contra Companys, 1936.

Casanovas as a high state official was quietly allowed to leave the country, while investigation launched by the Court of Appeal of Catalonia was eventually closed with no charges advanced. Torres-Picart in picturesque and also unclear circumstances managed to leave prison and made it to France; from there he launched a vehement campaign against Companys.
Holotype dentary and only specimen of "Koutalisaurus kohlerorum", considered at different times a distinct taxon, specimen of P. isonensis, or indeterminate lambeosaurine specimen Near the village Abella de la Conca, in the 1990s, palaeontologist Marc Boada discovered a new site in the Talarn Formation, bearing dinosaur fossils. From this site, later named Les Llaus (LL), a right dentary, specimen designation IPS SRA 27, was excavated. In 1997, Casanovas-Cladellas and colleagues stated this dentary was discovered from SRA, the site where the original Pararhabdodon remains were found. The following year, they described the specimen and referred it to P. isonensis, and again stated it was from the same stratigraphic level.
From classical music, he started playing Hindi and Bengali songs for the HMV orchestra, since Newman arranged music for many composers like Kamal Dasgupta, S D Burman, Timir Baran and Ravi Shankar. He also played flute and piccolo at the Calcutta Symphony Orchestra. Through fellow musicians such as Francisco Casanovas, conductor at the Symphony Orchestra and band-leader at Firpo's Restaurant, George Banks, trumpet player at the Grand Hotel, and others, Manohari was introduced to the Calcutta nightclub scene. He had already tried his hand at the English key flute, the clarinet and the mandolin, but now he decided to learn the saxophone in order to be able to play at nightclubs.
Losillasaurus (meaning "Losilla lizard") is a genus of sauropod dinosaur from the Late Jurassic and possibly Early Cretaceous (Kimmeridgian-?Berriasian) in the southeast of Spain. The type species of the turiasaurian Losillasaurus giganteus was discovered in the Villar del Arzobispo Formation and later the Praia de Amoreira-Porto Novo Formation (subunit of the Lourinhã Formation) in Valencia and formally described by Casanovas, Santafé and Sanz in 2001. The holotype material is from a subadult and includes part of a skull; complete cervical, dorsal, sacral, and caudal vertebrae as well as several fragments; skeletal elements from the limbs including a humerus, ulna, radius, and metacarpal; sternal plates; and from the pelvis: the ilium, ischium, and pubis.
A transport of arms and munitions entered the country from France; it was organized by Revertés, who ensured that the Generalitat money is used to finance the delivery, though none of high government officials was aware of it. The train was directed at a depot station on the Barcelona suburbs; distribution of hundreds of rifles and grenades among specific EC-controlled units was discussed at a meeting of November 22, attended by Revertés, Casanovas, Torres-Picart, Xammar and Cornudella. Detachments commanded by EC men were to seize the Generalitat buildings and detain all government members; in case of resistance, they were to be shot.according to other authors, the EC insurgents intended to shot members of Comitè de Milícies Antifeixistes, Pascual 2012, p.

Today, most of the markets remain open in the spots they have been from the beginning. Some parts of the Eixample were influenced by Modernista architects, chief among whom was Antoni Gaudí. His work in the Eixample includes the Casa Milà (nicknamed La Pedrera) and the Casa Batlló, both of which are on the wide Passeig de Gràcia, as well as the Sagrada Família. Other architects who made highly significant, and certainly more numerous, contributions to giving the Eixample its characteristic appearance include Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Josep Domènech i Estapà, Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas and perhaps above all Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia, responsible for a total of over 500 buildings in the city (not all of them in the Eixample).
Evidence suggests that the environment of Hispanopithecus on the Iberian Peninsula was tropical to subtropical with marsh-like features. Flora of the period is preserved as samples of evergreen laurels, palms, reeds, and marsh herbs in wet areas and diverse leguminous trees and shrubs in lowland dry areas. Figs have been preserved in the stratographic layer which also contained hominid teeth, which would have been available year-round in the Middle Miocene.Alba, D, Casanovas-Vilar, I, Almécija, S, Robles, J, Arias- Martorell, J, & Moyà-Solà, S 2012, 'New dental remains of Hispanopithecus laietanus (Primates: Hominidae) from Can Llobateres 1 and the taxonomy of Late Miocene hominoids from the Vallès-Penedès Basin (NE Iberian Peninsula)', Journal of Human Evolution, 63, 1, p.

The PSDC was founded by members of the Democratic Left of Catalonia (EDC) leaving the party in April 1976 under Jaume Casanovas, which had been one of EDC's founders and leaders before disagreements over the political leadership of the party resulted in the PSDC's split. The new party was publicly presented on 29 July 1976, and officially registered on 7 March 1977. In May 1977, the party had planned to coalesce into the Union of the Democratic Centre in Catalonia alliance together with the People's Party of Catalonia (PPC) ahead of the 1977 Spanish general election, but the attempt was aborted by Prime Minister Adolfo Suárez, who instead enforced an electoral list made of independents and without the involvement of the PPC and the PSDC. As a result, both parties announced that they would not be contesting the election.
Geraldino made his official debut at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he competed in the men's 90-kg division. He received a shido penalty for his passivity over Romanian judoka and 1999 world champion Adrian Croitoru, and thereby lost his opening match upon the referee's decision. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Geraldino qualified for his second Dominican Republic squad in the men's middleweight class (90 kg) by granting an unused berth from the International Judo Federation and the Dominican Republic Olympic Committee (), following his denouncement on mistreatment and a series of irregularities against the federation's engineer and treasurer Jaime Casanovas. Geraldino quickly dropped Andorra's Toni Besolí into the mat to score an ippon victory in his opening match, before falling in a sliding lapel strangle hold (okuri eri jime) to Great Britain's Winston Gordon in the next bout.
Between 1763 and 1767/8, Viola returned to the monastery of Montserrat after more than nine years of in Madrid. His musical prestige had grown during the years at the court, as evidenced by the fact that some of his sonatas were incorporated, along with works by Narciso Casanovas or Antonio Soler, in the book "Musical Test of the Monk", by teacher and theorist Pere Codolar. In 1786, shortly after his return to Montserrat, he was appointed music director at Escolania, a position that had been vacant since the death of his old master Martí, as well as at the chapel of music, positions that he would occupy until his death . The thirty years at Escolania de Montserrat proved to be the time of Viola's greatness, both as director for the school which included overarching management of Montserrat's music, and in his accomplishments as a composer.

Francoism in Catalonia Casanovas returned to Catalonia after May 1937, when the Anarchist domination in Catalonia had been broken, and – still as the parliament speaker – tried to arrange a separatist Catalan declaration of neutrality; he died in 1942 in France.Jesús Mestre i Campi (ed.), Diccionari d'història de Catalunya, Barcelona 2004, , p. 207 Espanya, Xammar and Torres-Picart left France for Latin America, where they lived until the end of their days; Espanya died in 1953, Xammar in 1967,Vicenç Riera i Llorca, Els exiliats catalans a Mèxic, Barcelona 1994, , p. 33 and Torres-Picart in 1988; before death he managed to visit the already democratic Spain. Cornudella and Blasi after 1939 returned to Spain and engaged in anti-Francoist conspiracy, both repressed; the former was elected to the Catalan parliament after 1975 and died in 1985,see Fermí Rubiralta i Casas, Joan Cornudella i Barberà (1904-1985): biografia política: 50 anys d'independentisme català, Montserrat 2003, it is not clear when the latter died.
Other names reflect the Spanish and Bulgarian exploration and mapping in the area, such as Española Cove, Mount Reina Sofía, San Telmo Island, Ballester Point and Castellvi Peak (after Antonio Ballester and Josefina Castellví, doyens of the Spanish Antarctic programme), Quiroga Ridge, Dañobeitia Crag, Ojeda Beach, Enrique Hill, Sàbat Hill, Casanovas Peak, Bulgarian Beach, Krum Rock (or Krumov Kamak), Pimpirev Beach (after Christo Pimpirev, doyen and leader of the Bulgarian Antarctic programme), Vergilov Ridge, Kuzman Knoll, Dimov Gate, Gurev Gap, Yankov Gap etc. Hespérides Point is named after BIO Hespérides, a Spanish Navy oceanographic vessel serving in particular as a resupply ship for the Spanish and Bulgarian bases for many years. Rongel Point and Las Palmas Cove are also named after modern Antarctic ships. A concentration of place names (probably the highest in Antarctica) arising from local topographic diversity – over fifty names, mostly Chilean, occurs on the small ice-free headland forming the northern extremity of Ioannes Paulus II Peninsula and ending in Cape Shirreff.

Charlie Chaplin's 1916 One AM also features an exaggerated encounter with a Murphy bed. Later films which use Murphy beds as comic props (often to cause injury or frustration, or to hide a clandestine guest) include Laurel and Hardy's Be Big (1930), Jimmy Stewart and Ginger Rogers's Vivacious Lady (1938), Buster Keaton's Spite Marriage (1929) and Nothing But Pleasure (1940), Abbott and Costello's Hit the Ice (1943), several Three Stooges shorts (including 1952's Corny Casanovas), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, the Popeye cartoon Shuteye Popeye, Bob Hope's Boy, Did I Get a Wrong Number (1966), the James Bond film You Only Live Twice, The Night They Raided Minsky's, Mel Brooks's Silent Movie, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, The Great Muppet Caper, Police Academy 2, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Spy Hard, and Freddy vs. Jason. Murphy bed gag.
Premaxilla of Eolambia In 2001, Jason Head re-evaluated the phylogenetic position of Eolambia based on specimens stored at the OMNH. He recognized Kirkland's identification of supposed lambeosaurine distinguishing traits in Eolambia as either erroneous or dubious. As demonstrated by Head, there is actually a foramen on the premaxilla; the premaxilla only borders the nostril on the bottom edge; there are two finger-like processes at the front of the maxilla in addition to the shelf; high neural spines of the caudal vertebrae also occur in the non-lambeosaurines Ouranosaurus and Bactrosaurus; and the expansion of the tip of the ischium also occurs in Camptosaurus, Iguanodon, Ouranosaurus, Gilmoreosaurus, and Bactrosaurus, indicating that the expansion is plesiomorphic for iguanodonts and was secondarily lost in hadrosaurines. While M.L. Casanovas and colleagues in 1999 characterized lambeosaurines as having a "expanded foot" at the tip of the ischium, as opposed to a "club- like" condition, Head argued that Corythosaurus and Lambeosaurus have ischial tips no more an expanded than those of Mantellisaurus or Ouranosaurus.
