The La Ceiba Wildlife Refuge is a private wildlife refuge in Costa Rica, part of the Tempisque Conservation Area, which protects tropical forest on the Nicoya Peninsula near the small village of San Rafael in Paquera District in the Puntarenas Province. The area protected is covered by tropical dry forest and contains a small camping site and two cabins inside the reserve used by ecotourists, which helps fund the project.
The reserve was purchased in 1938 as a camping site for local boys and as a site for use by members of the local YMCA. The camp had a pool, a lodge, cabins and other facilities for overnight and day campers. For various reasons the YMCA decided to sell the camp in 1976. The Black Hawk County Conservation Board purchased 69 acres of the reserve from the YMCA.

The principal settlement of Helnæs lies on the southeast coast, and contains the camping site Helnæs Camping to the north of it, although the historical village of Helnæs By is further to the north, inland. The highest point of the island is Galgebakke, at .
Swimming is permitted in the reservoir. Boating is limited to paddle power, due to the likelihood that powered boats would agitate the water and cause noxious weeds to break apart and spread. It is equipped with one radio studio, one main control room and the transmission tower along with the community center and camping site for Annapurna trekkers. The station was built and contributed by a major Korean broadcaster, MBC, Lafuma and KOICA for the wellbeing and safety of both residents and trekkers of Mustang.
Since the fort is abandoned, it is possible to enter, but parts of it are dangerous to visitors. The mayor of the Mellieħa Local Council, Robert Cutajar, is attempting to restore the fort. Until now, the site was never restored since it would be very expensive given the large area of the fort. It has been proposed that the site be rehabilitated as a picnic or camping site.

St. Peter's Dome and Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek District Railway 1910s In the early 20th century, the Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek District Railway (Short Line) passed from Cripple Creek through St. Peter's Dome to Colorado Springs. In 1902, about 200,000 people took the train along the rim of South Cheyenne Cañon to Colorado Springs. It was a picnic and camping site. The vertical ascent of was first made by a wooden ladder and then a spiral staircase.
Test pits have been found on the island, hinting at a short-lived past as a possible mining site. Though trees abound, Manitou's remoteness and its lack of quality timber make logging economically unfeasible. Saint-Calixte is a municipality and town in the Lanaudière region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Montcalm Regional County Municipality. Its proximity to the city of Montreal, and its natural environment, make Saint-Calixte a destination for camping in the summertime. In March 1863 after three years of upheaval, the surviving Kulin leaders, among them Simon Wonga and William Barak, led forty Wurundjeri, Taungurong (Goulburn River) and Bunurong people over the Black Spur and squatted on a traditional camping site on Badger Creek near Healesville and requested ownership of the site. Indian Well is a locale, an old well, at the foot of the southwestern slope of the Lanfair Buttes, northwest of the summit of Indian Hill. It is located a little over a mile north of the Mojave Road in the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County, California. Native American Petroglyphs are found nearby Indian Well, on the western slope of the Buttes. The Indian Well petroglyphs indicate it was a Native American water source and camping site in previous centuries.
In the 1890s Peyto would guide tourists through the Sunshine Meadows to the base of Mt. Assiniboine, the highest peak in the Southern Continental Ranges of the Canadian Rockies. By the 1920s, Sunshine Meadows had become a popular camping site. Pat Brewster, the youngest son of dairyman John Brewster, was the first to regularly bring tourists for overnight camping at Sunshine Meadows. This area was nicknamed Tee Pee Town on account of the many tents that overnight campers would set there.

The southern carrying pylons of Elbe Crossing 1 and Elbe Crossing 2 have been located on Lühesand.

Te Moana is a locality in the Canterbury Region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is located about west of Geraldine and bordered by Gapes Valley and Pleasant Valley to the south and Four Peaks to the north. The south branch of the Hae Hae Te Moana River runs through the area. The nearby scenic reserve and gorge is well known by locals and in addition to being a popular camping site is home to a waterfall and deep swimming hole.
The area of modern Zambia is known to have been inhabited by the Khoisan until around AD 300, when migrating Bantu began to settle around these areas. The Amphitheater Lake Trail is a long hiking trail in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. It contains a herd of feral horses, scallop, crabs and various sea animals, including summer nesting by loggerhead turtles. The vicinity of the lake is a popular camping site for mountaineers en route to and coming down from the peak of Mount Apo, the Philippines' highest mountain.

It is located from Torvet, to the west of the Maribo Sø Camping site and oak woodland, near the northern banks of Søndersø Lake. It is the third oldest open-air museum in Denmark, and is in the backdrop of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park. Located on Meinckesvej, Maribo, the museum is open to visitors from 1 May to 30 September every day except Monday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Close to the confluence of the River Stort and Lea is Feildes Weir. Passing Feildes Weir Lock, the Rye House Power Station dominates the skyline. Crossing the river opposite the Fish and Eels public house which is above Dobbs Weir and then over the Hoddesdon to Nazeing road close to the Lee Valley Camping site (Permanently closed 2010) where a stretch of the Old River Lea can be seen. With the canal to the right the path passes Dobbs Weir Lock and then onto Carthagena Lock behind the lock is Carthagena Weir.
The sea front In the 19th century Seaton developed as a holiday resort, which it remains to this day. After much protest Seaton lost its largest holiday camp at the beginning of 2009 when the site was purchased by Tesco who opened a major supermarket on the site in late 2011. However, Seaton still has many accommodation providers including guest houses, hotels, a camping site and a caravan park. The church on the edge of town was built in the 14th century, with a squat tower dating from the 15th century.

A 430-metre- long bridge over the full width of the river bed has been constructed and named the 'Colonel Chewang Rinchen Setu'. After the Setu, the road goes through the valley of Murgo Nala to reach the village of Murgo, then the valley of Burtsa Nala to reach the camping site of Burtsa, and then Depsang nala to pass by Qizil Langar, close to the Line of Actual Control with China. After Qizil Langar, the road enters the Depsang Plains on a more or less straight route to the Dault Beg Oldi.
Bolungarvík is a small town and the only built-up area in the municipality of Bolungarvíkurkaupstaður in the northwest of Iceland, located on the Westfjords peninsula, approximately 14 kilometres from the town of Ísafjörður and 473 km. from the capital city Reykjavík. It was one of Iceland's oldest fishing outposts and is close to abundant fishing grounds. Tourist sites include a camping site next to an indoor swimming pool with a waterslide as well as a natural history museum where a polar bear specimen and the biggest bird collection in Iceland can be seen.
The hilltop of Tap Mun is a popular camping site, renowned for the contrast in temperature and wind conditions between day and night. Temperatures drop and winds soar during the nighttime but die down as the day approaches, when the dawn marks the beginning of a temperature rise. It is also well known for providing panoramic views of the surrounding seas, and so provides a brief escape away from busy city life. There is also a regular ferry and fast boat between Jepara or Kendal (near Semarang) ports to Karimunjawa island. Menjangan Kecil, Menjangan Besar, Tanjung Gelam, Legon Lele, Genting, Kembar, Parang, Cemara and Krakal Islands are popular marine tourism destinations (sailing, surfing, water skiing, swimming, white sand beaches, diving), camping, cultural visits, deer and bird observation. The Bengkoang and Kemujan Islands are a camping site and a site for the Panamanian ship Indono wreck diving.
The primary appeal of hammock camping for most users is comfort and better sleep, as compared to sleeping on a pad on the ground. Enthusiasts argue that hammocks don't harm the environment in the way that conventional tents do. Most hammocks attach to trees via removable webbing straps, or "tree-huggers," which do not damage the bark and leave little or no marks afterward. A tourist bus (no. 8), operated by Panda Coach Tours and Transport Inc., transporting around 50 college students from Bestlink College of the Philippines who are in the field trip destined to a camping site in Rizal. According to Erwin Gascon of the Tanay police station, the bus was travelling to Sitio Bayucal in Barangay Sampaloc in Tanay, Rizal when it lost its brakes and bumped into the electricity pole around 8:45 am, killing 15 passengers (13 students and a teacher) and including a driver named Julian Lacorda Jr. in the process, and injuring about 40 others.
Tsarap River The Tsarap River has its source in the glaciers near Pankpo La Pass at the border of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. After rising from its source, the Tsarap River flows southwest up to Sarchu, a camping site at the Leh-Manali Highway, here the Tsarap River joins a confluent of three rivers of Lingti, Yunan and Sarchu River. At village Purne, the Tsarap River is joined by Kargyag River which originates near Shingo La pass. Then the Tsarap River flows down in the main Zanskar valley, through the towns of Mone, Tichip, Jamyang Lang, Dorzong and Chia.

Being close to tourist hotspots Valkenburg and Maastricht, the village offers some bed and breakfast and hotel accommodation, as well as a camping site. Wenningstedt calls itself a "families' spa" and with about a million overnight stays booked, it is the fifth-largest tourist resort in Schleswig-Holstein. These bookings are distributed among 7,000 guest beds, 2,000 of which are accounted for by the Wenningstedt camping site, roughly 4,000 to holiday apartments and the remainder are shared by hotels and guest houses. Wenningstedt is moreover recognised as a spa in Germany, yet classical spa treatments are almost extinct due to changes in German health insurance regulations. However Butch is soon attacked and killed by a large Grizzly bear (Brody the Bear). Through their hike, the miscreant youths are given an opportunity to seek redemption; however this fails, as the group ignore Ranger Bob and instead spend the majority of the hike lusting after each other. Ty and Kiki sneak off from the group, but Ty becomes stuck in a wolf trap. His blood attracts a wolf which kills and devours KiKi, before the grizzly bear kills Ty. The rest of the group reach the main camping site where they spend the night.
Mountain rage has numerous waterfalls of which 34 waterfalls, 4 hot springs, 14 caves, 34 lakes and one campsite "Datu Lipus Macapandong Eco-Tourism Park" in the area of the range falling in the Agusan del Sur province (excluding waterfalls and caves falling in the area of Compostela Valley province).Agusan del Sur tourism, agusandelsur.gov.ph. One of the popular fall is "Bega fall" which is accessible from Agusan del Sur side. "Datu Lipus Macapandong Eco- Tourism Park", a Boys Scout camping site, near the natural water pool of the waterfall which also offers the nice view of various summits.
Flooded area The Rio Vermelho State Park is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 17:00 p.m. The park includes a camping site with 600 spaces, 24 hour security, toilets with hot showers, barbecue grills, restaurant service, laundry and other facilities. From the campsite there is a trail to the beach and another trail of through the forest, with vegetation that includes pines and fragments of Atlantic Forest. The Lagoa da Conceição terminal is from the campsite, with boat transport to the Costa da Lagoa, a traditional community with restaurants and a waterfall.
The name of the town is purportedly derived from Sangaruwan Ketha, a thriving paddy field. The location was also known as Diyatillakepura, a camping site of a number of Kings of Kandy during the various Chola invasions. Hanguranketha was used on numerous occasions as the temporary capital of the Kingdom of Kandy King Senarath was the first king to build a royal palace in Hanguranketha. His son, King Rajasinghe II, erected a royal palace, audience hall and several other buildings in Hanguranketha, as well as a constructing a lake, Udamaluwa, making it the site of his summer palace.
The camp was built up by the OT after January 1942 and run by them until in March 1943 when it was handed over to the Schutzstaffel - SS-Baubrigade I-- which was first under supervision of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp; and ran under the Neuengamme camp in northern Germany. Some of the structures of Lager Norderney still remain, and the site is now a camping site for tourists. The site of the Platte River Campground was used sporadically over a wide span of time, estimated to be A.D. 130-1269, during Middle and Late Woodland period. Evidence suggests that this occupation was short-term, consistent with a seasonal camping site, rather than long-term. In the late 19th and early 20th century, the logging community of Edgewater was established on the shore of Platte Lake; the community overlapped the prehistoric campground. After the area was logged, the State of Michigan turned the location into a campground; the campground became part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore upon its creation in 1973.
Sind River at Gatribal Sind seen from Duderhama Bridge Sind Valley The Sind River forms the Sind Valley. The source of the river lies in the Machoi Glacier at an elevation of 4800m, east of the Amarnath temple and south of the Zoji La. It flows through Panjtarni (a camping site of Amarnath yatra) southwards up to Domail where it joins a tributary which doubles its flow from the Kolhoi Glacier. It then flows mostly westwards along the NH 1D and is fed by many glacial streams on its way to Ganderbal town. At Kichpora Preng it is fed by the Wangath river which flows down from the Gangabal Lake.
Bohušov (Fulštejn (before 1950); ) is a village and municipality in Bruntál District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. Bohušov municipality is located in the western part of Osoblažsko region on the Osoblaha narrow gauge railway and is currently home to 440 inhabitants. It was established by Slavs but after the Mongol invasions had to be rebuilt by Bishop Bruno of Schaumburg in the first half of the 13th century. The village offers great facilities for tourists such as a camping site with modern huts, a pond for swimming and fishing, accommodation with bicycle hire and a newly built sport complex with multifunctional ground (beach volleyball court included).

One camp is now a tourist camping site, while the gates to another form the entrance to the island's rubbish tip.
This was largely because the names of the bays were swapped around and displayed incorrectly on maps for many years. However, it was officially corrected in 1972 by the Surveyor-General’s Trigonometry Surveys and Mapping Office. Vleesbaai and its surrounding region proved to be good agricultural land for livestock, and as result it saw an increase of nomadic farmers from the Cape region creating farm settlements in the area during the greater part of the nineteenth century. It was only towards the first part of the twentieth century that the first informal settlements started in the bay as a holiday camping site for the local farmers.

Julian, Dick, George (Georgina by rights), Anne and Timmy (Timothy) the dog (the Famous Five) are planning to go camping in a moor with the absent-minded and insect-loving Mr Luffy, a master at Julian and brave Dick's school. When they arrive at camp they find that their camping site is close to a farm, and that several old train tracks run under the moors, some of them are unused. They soon make friends with a boy named Jock, who lives at the farm with his mother and stepfather, the farm owners. While exploring the moor, the Five find a railway yard and a tunnel that are apparently abandoned.
Camping site on the shores of Lake Quinault There are several roads in the park, but none penetrate far into the interior. The park features a network of hiking trails, although the size and remoteness means that it will usually take more than a weekend to get to the high country in the interior. The sights of the rain forest, with plants run riot and dozens of hues of green, are well worth the possibility of rain sometime during the trip, although months of July, August and September frequently have long dry spells. An unusual feature of ONP is the opportunity for backpacking along the beach.
An artist at AfrikaBurn 2007 As a regional Burning Man event, AfrikaBurn adheres to the ten principles of Burning Man and added another in 2014. Among these guiding principles are the Leave No Trace philosophy, self-expression, self-reliance, and communal effort. The 11th principle, 'Each One Teach One', was added to encourage the sharing of knowledge throughout the community, in order to ensure the uptake of culture matches the growth in numbers. Money is not allowed on the camping site of the event since nothing is for sale, if people need something they either trade it with something else or simply ask for it and thereby employing a gift economy.
Durankulak () is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Shabla Municipality, Dobrich Province. Located in the historical region of Southern Dobruja, Durankulak is the north-easternmost inhabited place in Bulgaria and the northernmost village of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, although the village itself is slightly inland. Durankulak lies north of the town of Shabla, with the only places to the north along the coast being the formerly exclusively Czechoslovak camping site Kosmos and the Kartalburun and Sivriburun headlands. Durankulak is also the name of the nearby border checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Romanian border; just north of the border is the Romanian seaside resort Vama Veche.
The beach is backed by a large pebble bank which was created by a major storm on 25 October 1859, and which acts as a sea defence or storm beach; however, it is often breached, and rocks are washed onto the main road. In the January 2014 storms the sea washed the pebble wall across the road and a large wave washed the early evening Richards Bros bus into the adjoining field. Newgale is popular with holiday makers, windsurfers, surfers and canoeists throughout the summer months. Newgale viewed from the A487 lay-by There are two caravan parks, a camping site, some shops and a pub, The Duke of Edinburgh Inn.
In October 2012, confidential police files on the case were leaked to a French newspaper, showing investigators believed the killings were carried out by "a lone and psychologically disturbed killer". One of the reasons given was that the killer used a pre-World War II Luger P06 semi- automatic pistol, a weapon unlikely to be used by a professional assassin. In November 2013, two men broke into the property of a man and woman who owned and ran a camping site close to the village of Lathuile, just a few kilometres from Chevaline. The woman was shot dead with a handgun and the man was beaten and pistol whipped.
0864176279 Gundagai stonemason Frank Rusconi suggested a memorial using the legend of the Dog on the Tuckerbox in 1928; and in 1932 the proposal was taken up by the community. The Gundagai Independent of 11 August 1932 wrote: The Back to Gundagai Committee chose the Five Mile camping site rather than the Nine Mile Peg as a location for the monument on the basis that it was more convenient to the Hume Highway and closer to the town, thereby more beneficial to tourism. A nationwide competition was held to obtain the most suitable inscription for the monument. The chosen inscription on the base of the monument was written by Brian Fitzpatrick of Sydney.
Prior to European settlement the area was occupied by the Dharug people. A significant stone artefact scatter relating to pre-contact Aboriginal use has been identified on the site indicating the potential importance of the site for research. According to oral testimony, the significance of the site for Aboriginal people continued in post contact years as it provided an important unofficial or hidden gathering and camping site for people moving between Sydney Parramatta and the rest of the State. A close examination of the documentation of Governor Phillip's first exploration of Parramatta's western hinterland in April 1788 reveals that the orthodox view that he went only as far as Prospect Hill or a lttle beyond is deeply flawed.
During the years when Aboriginal movement away from missions and Aboriginal reserves was restricted and closely monitored, Rooty Hill remained an unofficial or hidden gather place and camping site for people moving between Sydney and the Blue Mountains and the rest of the State. One Dharug elder indicated that the "South Creek mob" and the "Toongabbie mob" camped at Rooty Hill about three times a year, adding that they were not supposed to be travelling and were meant to stay on the Hargreave Mission at Warwick Farm. The last gathering of this person's family at Rooty Hill was in about 1962 when they met and made a temporary camp in the vegetation at the foot of Rooty Hill.
The origin of the 3 volcanic lakes in the area, Yidyam (Lake Eacham), Barany (Lake Barrine) and Ngimun (Lake Euramoo) is related in Ngajanji myth as the result of the infraction of a taboo by 2 men who had just being initiated into the tribe. At the time of the event, the terrain of the Ngajanji was open scrubland. Their transgression roused the ire of the Rainbow serpent, who set the land under their camping site trembling, as cyclonic winds also blew in, and a strange red hue coloured the sky. As a result of the fissures in the earth, the panicking people were swallowed up and disappeared into the bowels of the earth.
Mavis Ngallametta was initially recognised for her mastery of weaving in traditional materials. While attending a workshop at the Wik and Kugu Art Centre, run by Gina Allain, she began making small paintings depicting important cultural sites. Larger paintings refer to the changing seasons as well as specific sites including Ikalath, where she collected the white clay Yalgamungken, for the vibrant local ochres; her traditional country, the coastal side of Kendall River, which she was able to view from the air; Wutan, a camping site belonging to her adopted son Edgar; and various pamp, or swamps, around Aurukun. Ngallametta painted with traditional materials, including ochres, clays and charcoal, which she collected herself.
The fort, which covers an area of , was built starting from 1882 and finished in 1891 on Monte Antenne, from which it takes its name, near the confluence of the river Aniene with the Tiber. Until the 1940s it was used as a depot of the Signal Corps and then decommissioned. A part of the fort was taken over by the Municipality of Rome, which only partially used it; the remainder was occupied by military units. In 1958, on the occasion of the upcoming 1960 Rome Olympics, the public ownership sold it to the Municipality of Rome in order to use it as a camping site, which however was built only in the surrounding park, since some private residences had already been built within the fort.
A former schoolroom opposite the parish church is used as a village gathering place, and a learning centre. The village post office operated from these premises, but following recent post office closures, it is no longer operational. A further landmark of Tong village is Tong Garden Centre, which is situated at the south-western end of Tong Lane about from its junction with the B6135. On Tong Lane there is a holiday camping site, a motorcycle hill climb, and the Innovation Motorsports rally (and four by four) testing centre drive, located opposite the Holiday Inn Leeds/Bradford, a testing facility used by professional rally teams to ensure their up-and-coming drivers are up to scratch, before the major European rallies.
In 2011, two investors from Terrebonne, QC decided to invest 10 million dollars to build a theme park, and camping site in the province of Quebec. After a number of years of planning, they chose Saint-Calixte as the location of the park, and purchased a 5 million square feet property in the municipality. After more than a year of construction, the first phase of the park opened in summer 2013, with over 300 camping spaces available, and a water park, as well as playgrounds. Two other expansion phases are planned for 2014 and 2015, which are planned to increase the capacity of the park and camping ground to 2000 spaces, with an artificial lake and beach, as well as a convenience store.
The Mehinaku claim their older villages were much larger; which is likely because European explorers had not brought the diseases that indigenous people had no immunity to. These communities were likely abandoned for a variety of reasons, overused soil, intrusion of leaf-cutter ant colonies, and a tribal taboo associated with living in places where many people had died.
