The brassie did not find the way into modern golf bags because of its limited use. Tour Brassie by Taylor Made In the 1980s TaylorMade-Adidas came up with a model range of metal woods and to push the market launch they gave their clubs historic names. So the Brassie came back named as the Taylor Made Tour Brassie (Wood No. 2).

It was the second longest club in the bag and was made especially for long shots out of bad lies and from hard ground. The name brassie comes from its soleplate made out of brass, an alloy of copper and zinc. The dense soleplate gives the brassie a lower center of gravity and lifts up the ball faster and easier than with a traditional driver. The brassie was very different from a modern 2-wood; but in loft, appearance and use, the brassie is the antique club that is most related to a 2-wood.

The team discovers that Chex can make items temporarily light when she flicks them with her tail, which provides a solution to her problem of how to fly.

After the intersection with South Hammond Road, NY 185 entered the hamlet of Rossie, where it served as the main street as a two-lane roadway. Within the hamlet, NY 185 intersected with County Route 8 (Brassie Corners-Rossie Road), where the designation terminated.

Lloyd was known as a player capable of extremely long drives and was considered to be one of the longest hitters in his day. In the 1897 tournament, he was trailing entering the final round. He hit a long drive at the 465-yard 18th hole, following by a wonderful brassie shot to within 8 feet of the pin. Dand MacNeill, as Battalion Sports Officer and a decent golfer himself, puts together the battalion's half of the foursomes for the match: the Adjutant, a golfing neurotic, and the golf pro who is the officers' barman; two elderly majors who have been feuding with each other for twenty years; the Medical Officer, whose best club is his brandy flask, and the Padre, who plays in a state of reverie; Subaltern MacMillan, who has the annoying habit of giggling, especially after a bad shot, and Regimental Quartermaster Bogle, who might be a decent golfer could he but see the ball past his beer belly; and Regimental Sergeant Major Mackintosh, a steady golfer, partnered with Dand himself. Soldiers from MacNeill's platoon are recruited to serve as caddies ... and one of them, assigned to the RSM, is Private McAuslan, who is illiterate and doesn't know a brassie from a cleek. It will indeed be an interesting match. His Majesty Says Good-Day.

On their travels, Smash and Tandy blunder into an Eye Queue vine, which embeds itself into Smash's head and provides him with human intelligence so he converses in the human way instead of spouting simple ogre rhymes. He soon discovers that the vine also helps give him good ideas, as not all the problems he and Tandy encounter can be bashed to pieces. After the vine, they encounter an assortment of females of various magical races, each needing to fulfill a personal quest including a dryad who needs to protect her tree from woodsmen, the wingless fairy John looking for her similarly incorrectly named counterpart to switch back, Centaur Chem, a longtime friend with the talent of magic mapping who wants to chart more of Xanth, Blythe Brassie who accidentally leaves her hypnogourd homeworld to come to the real Xanth, a mermaid looking for love, and others. Unfortunately also during their travels, Tandy gets trapped in the hypnogourd world and has her soul wrenched from her, though she is later freed by the others.
