The engine block is made from high pressure die-cast aluminum which results in considerable weight savings - the entire engine with a manual gearbox only weighs . The main block features a ladder frame construction for structural stiffness while its cylinders are fitted with cast-iron liners for improved abrasion durability. Italy won the event by beating Switzerland in the final and claimed the last remaining World Cup berth. The last chance bracket was retired from use after this edition due to the establishment of a dedicated World Cup qualifying competition for UEFA nations the following year.

Arena Botevgrad was officially opened on March 29, 2014 after two years of construction in the presence of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Botevgrad's mayor Georgi Georgiev, and several government ministers. Katie Hinde created March Mammal Madness, using a 64 animal bracket, with the goal of using biological research to create (simulated) battles. Katie Hinde, originally an assistant professor in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University and currently an associate professor in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change at Arizona State University, later brought in three other educators to help her organize the event.

The four teams, based on the world rankings at the time of issuing the tournament regulations, were assigned a seeding from 1 to 4, the highest being that of and, subsequently, the , and . The format was a four team semifinal bracket, with the teams seeded 1 and 2 meeting the teams seeded 4 and 3 respectively. A final for the title was played between the two winners and a match for third place was played by the defeated semifinal teams. All competitions took place at the Stade du Pachy in Waterloo except for the final held at the Petit Heysel in Brussels.

Winners of each athletic conference's tournament (or, in the case of basketball's National Invitation Tournament, the team with the best regular season record in that conference) are granted automatic bids into the tournament, and a selection committee fills the remaining slots in the tournament bracket with who it determines to be the best teams who did not win their tournament (in practice, major conferences with stronger reputations and more revenue are invariably favored over mid-majors with similar records).

The fifth Northern Cup was held at Sheffield Hallam Sports Park on 10–11 November 2018. Twenty-two teams competed over the weekend. On the first day, 2 groups of five and three groups of four played each other, with the top 12 ranked teams overall moving into the upper bracket, with 8 further teams playing play-in matches, with the losers joining the final two teams in the Consolation bracket. The top 16 teams were invited to compete in the upcoming British Quidditch Cup; the unsuccessful teams would have another opportunity to qualify via the Development Cup.

MenaRD, playing with the character Birdie, managed to remain on the winner's side for the majority of his run through the tournament, defeating high-level players such as Xian, Kazunoko, Umehara in the quarter-finals, and Itabashi Zangief in the semi-finals. MenaRD was knocked out of the winner's side in the next round by Tokido, who was playing with the character Akuma. After winning the loser's final against Nemo, MenaRD faced Tokido once again and managed to reset the bracket with a 3-2 match. Tokido controlled the fighting space using Akuma's ranged fireball attacks and tried to keep MenaRD at a distance in order to frustrate him.

The Mansfield Giants are a basketball club from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. The club was originally formed in 1990, and home games are played at the Oak Tree Leisure Centre. The Giants debuted in the English Basketball League in the 2006/07 season, with the Men's team entering the newly formed Division 4 (North), starting with a 10–4 record in their first year, which was enough to earn them a quick promotion to Division 3. Two years later, the Giants' Men's team repeated their success, taking second place in the D3 North bracket with a 17–5 win/loss record to earn promotion to Division 2.

There was no SSL Challenge in Season 1 of 2016. Instead, qualifiers seeded directly into the main event. The main event consisted of a sixteen player double elimination bracket with one round of the winners' and two of the losers' bracket being best of three matches, the next two rounds in both brackets being best of five, and the remaining four matches deciding the placement of the top four players being best of seven games. The Americas Zone was one of the three regional zones of the 1976 Davis Cup. After losing the first two games in similar fashion, Newbee then attempted to adjust their drafting strategy at the start of third and series-deciding match in a desperate attempt to save the series. However, it was in vain as Liquid had early game success and swiftly advanced towards Newbee's base, overwhelming them and winning the series and therefore the tournament, making Team Liquid the first team to have shut out the opposing team in an International grand finals.

The first World Baseball Classic featured 16 teams in a round-robin. Each team played the other three teams in their pool once. Teams were ranked by winning percentage in the first round, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the second round, where the teams from Pools A and B (in Pool 1) and the teams from Pools C and D (in Pool 2) competed against each other in another round-robin. Teams were ranked by winning percentage in the second round, without regard to the results of the first round, with the top two teams from each pool entered a four-team single- elimination bracket, with the pool winners and runners-up from each pool facing each other in the semifinals.

The 2002 season saw FAU receive its third bid to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship tournament; its first since 2000. As an at- large selection, FAU was placed in the Regional bracket with the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers, and the Southeast Missouri State Indians. The top seed of the Regional was the national #3 seed, Alabama, who hosted in Tuscaloosa, AL. FAU pulled off an impressive win in the opening game against Auburn, as both underdogs in FAU and SE MIssouri State, won their first games. Beating the Indians of SE Missouri State in the second round allowed FAU to roll right into the Regional championship game free of losses and avoiding the "Loser's Bracket" of the Regional.

The optimal trim setting will vary depending on many factors including speed, hull design, weight and balance, and conditions on the water (wind and waves). Many large outboards are equipped with power trim, an electric motor on the mounting bracket, with a switch at the helm that enables the operator to adjust the trim angle on the fly. In this case, the motor should be trimmed fully in to start, and trimmed out (with an eye on the tachometer) as the boat gains momentum, until it reaches the point just before ventilation begins or further trim adjustment results in an RPM increase with no increase in speed. By 1966, Rayne was showcasing what were known as 'Young Design quartet' – Jean Muir, Roger Nelson, Moya Bowler and Gerald McCann – capitalising on London's thirst for younger designers by getting them to design fashionable shoes in a more affordable price bracket, with designs being sold in Harrods and some high-street shoe shops. The women's event was held between 2 and 4 August 2019, with a total of 59 participants. The event was a double-elimination bracket. With 16 players remaining, the event reverted to a single-elimination structure. Jasmin Ouschan and Kristina Tkach were tied for number one in the women's Euro Tour rankings. Last year's runner-up Oliwia Czuprynska lost to Tina Vogelmann 4–7 in the double-elimination round, and then lost to Tkach 7–1 in the loser's qualification round. Germany's Melanie Suessenguth had already defeated Tkach 7–5 in the winner's round. In a match that was predicted to be a close match, Ukraine's Kateryna Polovinchuk defeated Valeriia Trushevskaia 7–1. The knockout round saw a repeat of the Austria Open final, with Ouschan facing Marharyta Fefilava. The match finished with the same scoreline, with Ouschan winning the match 7–1.

The team won the 2008 SEC Tournament (held May 20–25 in Hoover, Alabama). With the win, LSU won 20 consecutive games, breaking the previous school record of 19 consecutive wins during the 1997 season and tying the SEC's second-longest streak of wins. Fourteen of those wins were come- from-behind wins, while the last 15 were made wearing the distinctive gold jerseys. By winning the SEC Tournament, LSU earned a 7th national seed in the NCAA tournament and extended the life of the old Alex Box Stadium as Baton Rouge hosted a regional bracket of the NCAA tournament. LSU swept the series, defeating Texas Southern (12–1) and Southern Miss (twice, 13–4 and 11–4) to win the regional bracket. With the sweep of the Regional series, LSU extended their winning streak to a SEC-record 23 straight games.

The last 32 players competed on a single elimination bracket, with the round- of-32 played on 14 June. The top two ranked players Eklent Kaçi and Joshua Filler both qualified for the round-of-16, with wins over David Alcaide and Christian Froehlich respectively. Third-ranked Mateusz Śniegocki was defeated by 55th ranked Tim De Ruyter 6–9. Wojciech Szewczyk qualified for the round- of-16 after completing a whitewash of Stefan Huber. The round-of-16 to the final was played on 15 June. Two round-of-16 matches were decided on a final rack: Ralf Souquet defeated Radosław Babica and Kaçi defeated Wojciech Szewczyk, both 9–8. Mario He, who missed the 2019 Leende Open due to a drugs offence, was ranked seventh for the tournament because he had two tournament wins in 2018. He defeated Marc Bijsterbosch in the round-of-16, 9–1.

Vega launched in 2005 to target the baby boomer market of listeners in the 40 to 60 age bracket, with a mix of talk and music from the 1960s to the 2000s.
