The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Coliseum (originally and still commonly known as the Jacksonville Coliseum) was a multi-purpose arena located in Jacksonville, Florida. Built in 1960 and known as "northern Florida's most historic concert venue","Demolition Dynamics & D.H. Griffin implode renowned entertainment venue" Implosion World Website, Blasts from the Past it was home to most of the city's indoor professional sports teams and it hosted various concerts, circuses, and other events. It was demolished in 2003 and replaced with the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

The house was purchased in 1890 by an Irish immigrant named Thomas Cloke,Dwyer, Kevin "Blasts from the Past" New York (June 6, 2005) who ran a tavern and sold beer and spirits to sailors and longshoremen. The tavern had a brewery that was later turned into a restaurant. Cloke was reported to be a successful businessman and was well regarded in the community.

"Meusurray" (named after a language game Murray invented and based on a technique used by carnival barkers to attract a crowd was a regular shtick on his 1010 WINS radio show) was a single by the girl group The Delicates, released on the United Artists label.

A character named Mala appears in three episodes of Superman: The Animated Series voiced by Leslie Easterbrook. This character, however, is a female Kryptonian, and bears a strong resemblance to Ursa and Faora, one of the evil Kryptonians from the film Superman II. In her first appearance, in the two-part episode "Blasts From the Past", Mala is a Kryptonian criminal exiled to the Phantom Zone. She convinces Superman to release her from the Zone on the grounds that she has served her sentence, despite Superman's misgivings about releasing a former criminal on Earth, where she will gain superpowers. When she is first released, she trains with Superman and agrees to accompany him in fighting crime, but it quickly becomes apparent that she misunderstands Superman's role on Earth, believing him to be ruling over the people.

In the season finale, Zod makes his first full bodied appearance on the series, along with a large number of other Kryptonians who are later revealed to be clones created as part of an old experiment. Initially powerless due to their cells having been treated with blue kryptonite radiation, these clones later gain powers when Clark is forced to provide Zod with a sample of his blood to heal him after he is shot, Zod using this blood to empower his followers. The clones are relocated to a new world that they designate 'New Krypton' at the conclusion of Season Nine, with Clark Kent remaining on Earth and Zod being sent to the Phantom Zone to merge with his original self when the clones learn that Zod killed his lover Faora for objecting to his plans. In Superman: The Animated Series and later Justice League Unlimited, the only survivors of Krypton are Clark and two Phantom Zone criminals (Jax-Ur and Mala, introduced in "Blasts From the Past", parts 1 and 2).
