The Morwells aka Morwell Unlimited were a Jamaican reggae band formed in 1973 by Maurice Wellington and Eric "Bingy Bunny" Lamont. They disbanded in the early 1980s with members going on to form the Roots Radics.

He was in the process of designing the erotic pinball game Zingy Bingy, when Capcom closed its pinball division. After pinball, Anghelo worked for several companies including Bay Tek Games to design novelty games such as Chameleon Paradize. Many fundraisers were started to pay medical bills from cancer. Anghelo died on April 9, 2014.

When the Morwells disbanded in 1981, Lamont joined up with Lincoln Valentine "Style" Scott and Noel "Sowell" Bailey to form the Roots Radics. The Roots Radics soon became Jamaica's most in-demand session band, working with the likes of Mikey Dread, Gregory Isaacs, Barrington Levy and Bunny Wailer. Lamont also recorded as a singer while with the Morwells and released two solo albums in 1982, Me & Jane and Bingy Bunny & Morwells as well as a string of singles. Lamont died in December 1993 from prostate cancer.

Rudolph "Rudy" Methaian Mills is a reggae musician known for his releases during the rock steady era in the 1960s. He was discovered by producer Derrick Harriott who released his hit song A Long Story. Versions of the song were later used by other artists including Bongo Herman & Bingy Bunny sampling it in an instrumental rendition. Mills released singles with Island Records, and his music has been featured on over 20 compilations, including releases from Rhino Entertainment, Trojan Records, Jamaican Gold, Heartbeat, BMG, and Universal Music TV. Mills was in a band called Progressions.

As a combined force the Roots Radics became a well-respected studio and stage band, which dominated the sound in the first half of the 1980s.

Black Roots is a 1979 album by Sugar Minott.
