Bondanella, 260 Encolpius finally leaves the villa, helping the limping, beaten Eumolpus to drink water from a pool in a tilled field. In return for his kindness, Eumolpus bequeaths the spirit of poetry to his young friend. The next morning Encolpius, Gitón, and Ascyltus are imprisoned on the pirate ship of Lichas, a middle-aged merchant; they are part of a consignment of attractive young men being delivered for the titillation of the reclusive Roman emperor. Lichas selects Encolpius for a Greco-Roman wrestling match and quickly subdues him.

At a Christmas party shortly afterwards hosted by one of Coningsby's school friends, news arrives that Lord Monmouth has died. Monmouth had a habit of changing his will and the latest version bequeaths next to nothing to Coningsby, the bulk of his wealth being left to Flora who turns out to be his daughter. Flora, her health failing, offers to give it all to Coningsby on account of his kindness to her but he refuses. With no income or wealth, Coningsby takes up law studies with the aim of eventually becoming Lord Chancellor.

According to Marcel Pagnol's essay, "Prince Stuardo" declares himself to be the son of Charles II and "Lady Mary Henrietta Stuart", barons of San Marzo (unidentified). He asks Charles II to grant his son (born of his marriage to a Neapolitan tavern-keeper’s daughter) the title of Prince of Wales, and to pay his wife and parents-in-law enormous sums. He bequeaths to his son estates that he does not own and a non-existent marquisate title. The matter was mentioned in contemporary newsletters and English consul's messages to England.

Montana Sky is a 2007 American television film directed by Mike Robe and starring Ashley Williams, John Corbett, and Charlotte Ross. Based on the 1996 Nora Roberts novel of the same name, the film is about a wealthy stock dealer who bequeaths his Montana farm to his three daughters, provided they live on the ranch together for at least one year. Montana Sky is part of the Nora Roberts 2007 movie collection, which also includes Angels Fall, Blue Smoke, and Carolina Moon. The movie debuted on February 5, 2007 on Lifetime.

Touro Cemetery in Newport (1850) At his death, his estate provided endowments for nearly all the Jewish congregations in the United States, bequests to hospitals and orphanages in Massachusetts. His bequeaths funded the first Jewish residential settlement and almshouse outside the Old City of Jerusalem, Mishkenot Sha'ananim. A bequeathment to the Hebrew Education Society of Philadelphia led to the 1891 construction of a Jewish education center named Touro Hall in his honor. His will gave more than $500,000 to different causes, a sum which would equal approximately $9 million in modern terms.

Fool in the Storm by William Dyce (1806–1864) King Lear is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It tells the tale of a king who bequeaths his power and land to two of his three daughters, after they declare their love for him in a fawning and obsequious manner. His third daughter gets nothing, because she will not flatter him as her sisters had done. When he feels he has been treated with disrespect by the two daughters who now have his wealth and power, he becomes furious to the point of madness.

Sly proposes a truce between them and the 217s, and arranges for a concert of Western pop music to be held with members from both gangs. Preparations for the concert appear to be going well until Honey, wearing the stolen uniform of a sailor as a disguise, unexpectedly resurfaces and berates Sly for setting up the concert; however, he realizes the gang respects Sly more. The night before the concert, Honey meets with Si'r, who he has taken a liking to, and "bequeaths" Ming to him, believing him to be a stable boyfriend. The following night, the concert is performed.

In Christian tradition, Eusebius and others have related of Noah's testament, made in writing, and witnessed under his seal, by which he disposed of the whole world. Additionally, wills are spoken of in the Old Testament (in Genesis 48), where Jacob bequeaths to his son Joseph, a portion of his inheritance, double to that of his brethren. The effect of Christianity upon the will was very marked. The Connie Willis short story "Winter's Tale," which combines factual information about Anne Hathaway with a fictitious Shakespeare identity theory, also characterises the nature of the relationship as loving and the bequeath of the second-best bed as romantically significant.

During the Avengers: Standoff! storyline, Vaughn begins to lose control of the Quantum Bands and willingly allows his memories and appearance to be altered by Kobik in Pleasant Hill, a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. prison disguised as a gated community run by Maria Hill, who poses as its mayor. During this time, he works as the curator of the Pleasant Hill museum. When Wendell's memories are restored during Baron Helmut Zemo's prison revolt, he bequeaths the Quantum Bands to a young S.H.I.E.L.D. agent named Avril Kincaid and agrees to mentor her so she can become the next Quasar.

Gurnee, who did not marry, died on July 6, 1926 in Baden- Baden, Germany, and was interred at the Gurnee Mausoleum at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In his will, Gurnee left many large bequeaths to charity, including the Presbyterian Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, the Nursery and Child's Hospital, and the Association for Improving the Condition of the Poor, many trust funds for his relatives, and then left his residuary estate to Harvard. Quarrelman had become dissatisfied by the lack of contenders when he encounters Neptune King, who bequeaths to him the Neptune Mask and dubs him the Perfect Choujin Neptuneman. Neptuneman and Big the Budo would be defeated by Kinnikuman and Terryman at the climax of the Dream Choujin Tag arc, where he realizes the hypocrisy of Big the Budo and sacrifices himself to stave off the Perfect Choujin invasion. He reappears in the Scramble for the Throne arc under the disguise The Samurai, being on the run from Omegaman for having cheated death. He assists Kinnikuman in his fight against Team Super Phoenix.

Emily Arundell, a wealthy spinster, writes to Hercule Poirot on the belief she has been the victim of attempted murder after a fall in her home in Berkshire. However, her family and household believe she actually fell by accident, after tripping over a ball left by her fox terrier Bob. When Poirot receives the letter, he learns she has already died; her doctor, Dr. Grainger, states her death was from chronic liver problems. A new will she made while recovering from her earlier fall bequeaths her vast fortune and home to her companion, Miss Minnie Lawson.

Meanwhile, the Himerian Church establishes itself as a new empire, securing direct control of Almark after the king bequeaths the realm to the church on his death. Perigraine and the smaller principalities later all swear fealty to Himerius as well. However, Himerius is in the thrall of Aruan, who converts him into another werewolf. The Vicar- General of the Knights Militant realises that the church has become the Second Empire, which in prophecy will bring about the Age of the Wolf and the fall of humanity, but is killed by Aruan before he can alert the rest of the church.

680–683 The damaged ring is kept for a time on a table in the Headmaster's office. Before his death, Dumbledore hides the ring's black stone inside a Golden Snitch and he bequeaths the Snitch to Harry in his will. Voldemort remained unaware of the stone's additional magical properties throughout his lifetime, Dumbledore noting that Voldemort's fear of death and lack of loved ones would have given him no reason to be interested in the Stone for its original purpose, and doubting that Marvolo would have been remotely interested in or aware of the Stone's true history.

Later at the wake, Fergus attacks Haynes when he sees him distributing his business card to enlisted soldiers there. Marisol (Najwa Nimri) bequeaths a package to Fergus, which Frankie had entrusted to a mutual friend with a note asking it be given to Fergus. With the help of Harim (Talib Rasool), an Iraqi musician, Fergus discovers a video on the phone which shows a member of Frankie's team killing an innocent Iraqi family a few weeks before his death. Fergus becomes suspicious, and has friends still working for the firm in Iraq investigate the incident, but it has not been recorded.

The show stars Peter Krause as Nate Fisher, whose funeral director father (Richard Jenkins) dies and bequeaths ownership of Fisher & Sons Funeral Home to his brother David (Michael C. Hall) and him. The Fisher clan also includes widow Ruth Fisher (Frances Conroy) and daughter Claire Fisher (Lauren Ambrose). Other regulars include mortician and family friend Federico Diaz (Freddy Rodriguez), Nate's on-again/off-again girlfriend Brenda Chenowith (Rachel Griffiths), and David's long-term boyfriend Keith Charles (Matthew St. Patrick). On one level, the show is a conventional family drama, dealing with such issues as interpersonal relationships, infidelity, and religion.

Wilby Daniels, now a successful lawyer, is engaged to his girlfriend Betty. A dying Professor Plumcutt bequeaths the ancient Borgian ring to Daniels, only for the professor's evil caretakers to plot a heist in attaining the inherited item for their own nefarious plans. After Wilby attains the ring, the curse that transforms him into a sheepdog is reactivated in the process of foiling the criminals' plans. With the help of his younger brother "Moochie", Wilby sets out to find a way of once again breaking the curse, while assisting his Moochie - an upcoming casting director - in creating the perfect commercial for dogs.

Phillip Reynolds is a widowed plastic surgeon who, despite having had a brilliant career, suffers in his interpersonal relationships. After the death of his millionaire father-in-law, Phillip discovers that both he and his brother-in- law, Bradley, have been written out of the will. The deceased patriarch blames Phillip for his daughter's death, and bequeaths the entirety of his $5 million estate to his granddaughter (Phillip's daughter), Heather. However, since the death of her boyfriend Donald the year prior, Heather has gone missing and no one in the family has been in contact with her.

Howard Wild, a kindly old gentleman, bequeaths his old mansion to his young niece Hazel and her fiancé Jack as a wedding present. A few days before the wedding, Hazel hears some terrible gossip about Jack, and after a spat, she leaves him and flees to the mansion to be alone. That night some thieves arrive to rob the house and Hazel watches them, helpless and terrified. When the criminals go down into the wine cellar, she runs for the door, but just then Jack enters and, mistaking him for another burglar in the dark, she screams and faints.

Frankish graves in the area of present-day Bierhausweg indicate that a settlement existed in Kloppenheim as early as the 6th and 7th centuries. Kloppenheim is first mentioned by name in a deed of gift in 927 AD during the reign of Saxon King Henry I. In a further certificate, Count Drutwin bequeaths six marks to the Bleidenstadt monastery in "Clopheim" and a forest with adjacent fields. The name "Clopheim" meant "residence on the rock of the hill", and probably dates to Frankish time. In the history of the following centuries, Kloppenheim played no special role.

A trust may be created by will or by an act inter vivos. A testamentary trust is constituted when a testator bequeaths property to one person, called a ‘trustee’ or an ‘administrator’, with an instruction to administer it for the benefit of another person or other persons appointed by the will, or for an impersonal object or purpose (the so-called charitable trust). Half in the Bag is a regularly released series in which Stoklasa and Bauman review films in a more traditional format, albeit with a haphazard and fourth wall breaking overarching plot. Stoklasa has described it as a cross between Siskel and Ebert and a 1980s sitcom, with Stoklasa and Bauman playing VCR repairmen who discuss movies whilst finding increasingly convoluted ways of avoiding their scheduled repair work on Mr. Plinkett's VCR. The show often features Plinkett portrayed by Evans. Tim Heidecker, who hosts a satiric movie review show On Cinema, makes a cameo in episode 37 as the owner of the VCR repair shop who bequeaths employment to Jay and Mike.

Morgan kills the walker and takes its body and Tabitha's to the graveyard where he finds Eastman succumbing to the bite. Morgan spots a grave marker with Wilton's name and Eastman confesses to kidnapping Wilton and starving him to death over 47 days, over which Eastman lost himself, and when he went to Atlanta to turn himself in he found that society had collapsed. Eastman bequeaths all he has to Morgan, including a rabbit's foot his daughter gave him, but advises Morgan to find more people and live. After burying Eastman and Tabitha, Morgan begins searching and finds a sign that leads to Terminus.

In the concurrent plot, set in Padua, Falleria witnesses the will of his dying brother Pandino (which bequeaths all his wealth to his son Pertillo), and in order to cheat his nephew of the inheritance has him murdered by two ruffians. Falleria is eventually undone by the dying testimony of one of the ruffians, and is sentenced to death by the Duke of Padua. In the 'London' plot, Merry is finally brought to justice by the 'accidental' testimony of his former servant Harry Williams. Merry and his innocent sister, Rachel, are hanged - but Williams is saved by pleading the ancient 'benefit of clergy', and is simply branded on the left hand.

Apocalypse is enraged when he finds out Rogue has been awoken prematurely as this interferes with his plans. As revenge, Rogue kills Apocalypse, who is later resurrected on Krakoa by the Five and arrives in Camelot to convince Morgan le Fay to allow them to settle their grievances with a duel between Captain Britain and her brother. When Betsy defeats Brian, Apocalypse reveals that he has crowned Jamie as King and Morgan is taken away to be experimented on by Apocalypse. Brian, freed from Morgan's control finds that he is no longer fit to be Captain Britain and officially bequeaths the title to Betsy.

William Isham died in 1909 in his house on 61st Street, and in June 1911, his daughter, Julia Isham Taylor presented almost of the estate to New York City on the condition that it be made into a park named after her father. Organizer and first curator of the Museum of Reims (1793-1806), Nicolas BergeatNicolas Bergeat (1733-1815) safeguarded works of art seized from the Catholic institutions in Reims and first official deposit was recorded on 10 Vendémiaire, Year II in the former hospice of Magneuses. The Museum of Fine Arts was founded in 1794 with objects seized during the French Revolution and was first housed in the city's town hall. Throughout the 19th century its collections grew via purchases and bequests, until in 1908 the city of Reims decided to buy a separate building to house it.

It is believed that the part-books were specially prepared for him, rather than being 'commercially' acquired, in order to suit the performing requirements of his household, thus becoming material tailored to his specific needs. The broad range of music includes motets, madrigals, extracts from masses, and consort songs. In his will, Paston relates that there are various lute books intabulated in the Italian, French, and English styles, both for solo playing and as accompaniment for singing. In the future, scientist Dr. Alimantando is trekking across the desert of a terraformed Mars and meets a humanoid "greenperson", who claims to have traveled through time to make sure Alimantando is in the right place at the right time to fulfill his destiny. It comes in the form of a 700-year-old sentient ROTECH environmental engineering module, or orph, which lies dying in the desert. It bequeaths itself and its resources to Dr. Alimantando, who dismantles the machine and uses its components to build his own oasis in the desert, which he names Desolation Road (instead of Destination Road) after consuming too much wine. Over time, several people find themselves at this settlement in the middle of nowhere, and are welcomed by Dr. Alimantando.

Honors degree at Holy Cross, he returned to his home state to study at The University of Vermont College of Medicine where he earned his doctorate in 1976. Marfuggi had his internship & residencies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine, and the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University He would eventually earn a Master's degree in the early 2000s at Drew University and was the first medical doctor to earn a doctorate in medical humanities. The College of the Holy Cross bequeaths annual awards for students and faculty made possible by donations from Marfuggi.

Our tale begins with a reading: “This is a Story of Heroic Deeds and the bitter struggle for the triumph of Good over Evil and of a wondrous Sword wielded by a mighty Hero when the Legions of Darkness stalk the land.” The film begins with the evil Voltan on his way to his father’s castle, after infiltrating his castle, Voltan demands the key to the ancient power but is denied. The wicked Voltan kills his own father when the latter refuses to turn over the magic of the "last elven mind stone". Before the old man dies, he says “the prophecy is fulfilled, the evil I’ve spawned will now pollute the land.” He bequeaths a great sword with a pommel shaped like a human hand to his other son, Hawk.

On 27 April 1521, Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, in the Philippine Islands, foolhardily, with only four dozen men, confronts 1,500 natives who have defied his attempt to Christianize them and is killed. On 14 February 1779, English explorer James Cook, on Hawaii Island, foolhardily, with only a few men, confronts the natives after some individuals have taken one of Cook's small boats, and Cook and four of his men are killed., p. 410. Poland's Queen Jadwiga, dying in 1399, bequeaths her personal jewelry for the restoration of Kraków University (which will occur in 1400); and Leland Stanford's widow Jane Stanford attempts, after his 1893 death, to sell her personal jewelry to restore Stanford University's financial viability, ultimately bequeathing the jewelry to fund the purchase of books for Stanford University.

Lou then catches his great-grandnephew, newly wed Mortimer, diluting Gramps' anti-gerasone in the bathroom. Fearing Gramps' reaction to such a scheme, Lou tries to empty the bottle and refill it with the full-strength medicine, but accidentally breaks the bottle and is caught by Gramps, who only tells him to clean up the mess. The next morning, the family finds Gramps' bed empty and a note informing them that he is gone; the note also contains a revised will that bequeaths his entire estate to be held in common by his descendants, with no stipulations as to who receives what property. It is the earliest woman's will ("a small, stained sheet of parchment") to survive in British history. In a detailed testament, she bequeaths to her daughter Æthelflœd an engraved bracelet, a brooch, several named household articles, including books, and "the farm at Ebbesbourne with the title deed as a perpetual inheritance... and the men and the livestock on the land there to her too." The Domesday Book of 1086 divided the Chalke Valley into eight manors: Chelke (Chalke - Bowerchalke and Broadchalke), Eblesborne (Ebbesbourne Wake), Fifehide (Fifield), Cumbe (Coombe Bissett), Humitone (Homington), Odestoche (Odstock), Stradford (Stratford Tony and Bishopstone) and Trow (circa Alvediston and Tollard Royal).

In the story "Our Bells" authored by Mark Knights, which featured in the undated booklet (circa 1894) "Norfolk Stories", Knight writes: The story tells of how a nobleman, fallen upon hard times, unwittingly tries to rob his own brother, but stays his hand after hearing the moving and beautiful Christmas Eve peal of bells. He subsequently assists in the ringing of the New Year's Eve peal, and bequeaths a sum of money to ensure that a jug of spiced ale is made available to future bell-ringers on that date. The story is recounted by a ghostly descendant of the sexton who was in residence when these events occurred. In 2018 the Mancroft Ringing Discovery Centre was opened, to promote the history of the bell-tower and to train a new generation of bell-ringers.

The BBC Heritage Collection is the newest of the BBC Archives and holds a variety of historic broadcast technology, art, props and merchandise. The collection was created out of personal collections and bequeaths by former staff members, as the BBC had no formal policy on the heritage collection until c.2003. The collection includes, amongst other items, the BBC One Noddy Globe and clock, a BBC- Marconi Type A microphone, an early crystal radio made by the British Broadcasting Company, a Marconi/EMI camera used in the early BBC Television experiments, a BBC Micro computer and a selection of items used to create Foley. In addition to all the broadcast technology, art is also kept, namely the portraits of all the BBC Director Generals, as well as props including an original TARDIS from Doctor Who and the children's television puppet Gordon the Gopher.

In 1966 disgraced British colonel Gerald Scott bequeaths a mysterious letter to his only son, Adam Scott. The "item in question" that Adam's father's letter leads him to acquire from a safe deposit box in Switzerland is a precious Russian Orthodox icon made long ago for the Russian tsars which by misadventure came into the possession of Hermann Göring sometime in the 1930s. Following the Second World War Göring wanted Scott's father (one of his jailers at Nuremberg) to have it in token of his kind treatment and because Göring realized Scott's father would be unfairly blamed for his pre-execution suicide. But the icon contains something that even Göring did not dream of: the only official Russian copy of a secret codice to the Alaska Purchase treaty by which the United States purchased Alaska from Russia in 1867.

There is a presumption in such a case that only the testator's share is bequeathed if it is doubtful from the will whether the testator intended to burden his or her estate with the duty of buying out the co-owner's share. This presumption may, however, be rebutted and more easily so where the testator bequeaths property belonging jointly to the testator and his or her spouse. If the property bequeathed belongs jointly to the testator and to the residuary heir, the whole of the property is deemed to be bequeathed; but the heir has an election whether to accept the terms of the will or to keep his or her share of the property. If the property belongs to the legatee himself the legacy is void, unless the testator had some real right, such as a mortgage, in the property; in that case the testator is deemed to remit such right and to leave the property unburdened to the legatee.

A usufruct, which is often confused with the fideicommissum, essentially forms part of the law of property, although it is often used in wills. A testator bequeaths the property rights to the naked owner (nudus dominus or remainderman), but the right to use, enjoy and take the fruits of the property to the usufructuary. In other words, instead of leaving the full ownership of the estate, or of a specified thing, to one person, the testator may leave the ownership to one person, subject to a usufruct in favour of another person. For example, the testator leaves ‘my farm to A subject to a life usufruct in favour of B’. On the testator's death, both of these interests vest, the usufruct in B, and the naked ownership (nudum dominium) in A. There are consequently two concurrent vested interests belonging to different persons in the same thing, the one enjoyable presently and the other in the future only.

Bequeaths house and lands in Little Leigh in occupation of self and Kinsman Ralph Nickson, carpenter, to Francis Wrench, Barnton, Cheshire on trust to use rents and profits to pay preaching minister at Little Leigh chapel, which minister to be chosen by Wrench and inhabitants of Little Leigh. Condition of bequest is that Wrench pay £400 in bequests, made up from £100 given by Sir Robert Cotton, Bart, for a minister at Little Leigh: £100 subscription now collecting to qualify for Queen Anne's Bounty of £200: Bequests £200 to brother John Horton, £20 at interest which to be paid to grammar school master at Little Leigh: £20 to Tailors guild: £20 to poor of Great Budworth, £10 to Ester Worral; £10 to Randle Pierson: £10 at interest to be paid to poor of Little Leigh not in receipt of any other relief: £10 to poor of Barnton: £100 at interest for preaching minister at Little Leigh.

The first mention of buildings on the site of Woodhouse Grammar School is in 1655, in the probate of the will of Allen Bent of Friern Barnet. The will, dated 15 January 1655, refers to three tenements "called 'The Woodhouses' that are now in the several occupations of William Moore, William Amery and Abraham Wager"...Prerogative Court Of Canterbury – Berkeley Quire Number 91, Transcription by C O Banks/Wills In 1743 James Patterson, a turner, of the Parish of St George the Martyr in Middlesex came into possession of "all those two messuages called or known as the Woodhouses with one ground room under the said messuages".Middlesex County Record Office These two tenements came into the possession of Thomas Collins through his wife on the death of her father James Patterson in 1765; "James Patterson bequeaths his tenements in Finchley to his daughter Henrietta Collins, wife of Thomas Collins" according to the Gentleman’s Magazine 2 November 1827. They had married on 19 November 1761.

In March 2020, following the revelation in The Telegraph that Felipe VI appeared as second beneficiary (after his father) of the Lucus Foundation, the entity on the receiving end of a €65 million donation by Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, King of Saudi Arabia, the Royal Household issued a statement on 15 March 2020 declaring that Felipe VI would renounce any inheritance from his father to which he could be entitled and that Juan Carlos would lose his public stipend from the part of the State's General Budget dedicated to the Royal Household. The renunciation of the inheritance is a mere declaration of intent, since the Spanish Civil Code prevents accepting or rejecting an inheritance until the death of the person who bequeaths takes place. The Royal Household also implied that Felipe VI already had prior knowledge of the Fundación Lucus and his condition as beneficiary of the latter since April 2019. A widespread cacerolada from the balconies of cities across Spain took place on 18 March counterprogramming the TV discourse of Felipe VI on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemics, intending to force Juan Carlos to donate to public healthcare the €100M he had allegedly obtained through kickbacks from Saudi Arabia, which was ultimately dismissed.
