Hoja reveals his goal of gaining the sultan's favor in order to obtain the position as court astrologer. As Hoja becomes interested in the narrator's past, the two try to swap stories of “why” they are the way they are.

Frank arrives and helps fight forces hostile to the strikers and bonds with Stray and Jesse before he departs emotionally.

Jazzy, Matt's cousin from Hawaii arrives to spend the summer with Matt and his mother. Jazzy and Matt become kissing cousins until Jazzy becomes interested in another boy. They eventually become friends again and Matt learns to stand up for himself.

Contarino tries to advance his cause by appealing to Leonora, the mother of Romelio and Jolenta, flattering her by requesting her portrait. Leonora remains a supporter of Ercole's suit – but she becomes interested in Contarino herself. When Jolenta remains resistant, Romelio sets the servant Winifred to watch over her and keep her from contacting Contarino. Winifred, however, is sympathetic to the girl, and does just the opposite; in conversation with his intended bride, Contarino learns of Ercole's pursuit of her.

In 1930s Beijing, Shang Xirui (Yin Zheng) is a famous Peking opera dan performer known for his talent and passion for his art. He meets Cheng Fengtai (Huang Xiaoming), a businessman who saves him from an unruly audience during a performance. Cheng becomes interested in Peking opera and the two men become good friends. Together, they overcome many obstacles including the objection of Fengtai's wife (Charmaine Sheh), and must struggle to preserve their art in the face of the incoming Japanese occupation.

During a school event, Elizabeth and her cousin who is also her best friend Lourdes flee in fear after chaos erupts, and both of them suffer from identical dizziness. Juan David, a journalist covering the event, takes them home. Although he has a girlfriend, Juan David becomes interested in Elizabeth. The two cousins continue suffering from dizziness until Lourdes discovers she is pregnant from a man she knows her mother would ever accept, and so she decides to get an abortion.
"NP" is both the name of the novel and of a short story collection within the novel's plot, a collection written in English by the character Sarao Takase, who committed suicide before he could translate it into Japanese. Three more people attempting to translate the collection have also committed suicide. The novel is narrated by Kazami Kano, the girlfriend of the last translator to die. In the Philippines, a desperate man takes an identity of a passenger and flies to the US. During the flight, the man becomes violent and it forces the plane to land in Guam. Once there, the man, who has now become deformed, is killed by security guards. After Dr. Alix Pardee examines the body, she becomes interested in his condition and decides to go to the Philippines to investigate. During the flight, she sits next to a man named Victor, where they exchange pleasantries.
Soya the snake is building a "3D puzzle" or model of a T-Rex. The ground shakes as his clumsy friend Michelino, an actual miniature T-Rex, lumbers along and, seeing the blueprints, becomes interested in what Soya is doing and wants to help, to Soya's annoyance. Soya has already had to start over due to the ground shaking from Michelino's heavy steps but then Michelino accidentally knocks the model down a second time. Frustrated, Soya gives up and swallows the model's pieces rather than rebuild them.

As he scavenges the Zalem dump heap for useful parts, cyberphysician Daisuke Ido comes across the remains of a female cyborg, who is still alive. Because the couple had locked themselves in a room with a collection of Indian antiquities before the gunshots were heard, the incident appears to be a murder-suicide caused by a sudden fit of madness in the Colonel. Watson escorts Miss Murray to Sherlock Holmes' residence at 221B Baker Street, and Holmes soon becomes interested in the case.
Clarence is an awkward young man who is in love with a bartender named Alex. Despite visiting the bar multiple times, and an awkward encounter, Alex doesn’t really seem to notice him, partly due to preoccupation with her ongoing divorce proceedings. In order to get her attention, Clarence enlists the help of Patrick, a patron of another bar who seems to be able to get any woman he wants. After Patrick beats Clarence at an expensive game of pool, Patrick becomes interested in helping when Clarence offers him bigger money.

On the final day of the competition, Ataru wins the game by stealing Lum's bikini top, which prevents her from protecting her horns in favor of protecting her modesty.
Katie leaves to stay with her mother in Greece whilst she recovers from her ordeal. After briefly dating Nikhil Sharma (Rik Makarem), Katie becomes interested in Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) and his ex-wife, Ella Hart (Corrinne Wicks), tries to warn her off but Katie and Declan begin dating regardless. When Declan's daughter, Mia (Sapphire Elia), dies in a car crash, he reveals that he was not her biological father and Katie supports him through his grief. Declan proposes twice to Katie but she turns him down on both occasions.
Jerry Larrabee (Richard Barthelmess) is framed by rival gangster Spadoni (Louis Natheaux) and sent to prison, where he is befriended by a kind and understanding warden (William Holden). Through the warden's patient influence, Jerry becomes interested in music and forms a prison band, broadcasting over the radio. Jerry's singing deeply moves his radio listeners, and soon Jerry is given a pardon by the governor. Jerry pursues a singing career in vaudeville, billing himself as the Master of Melody, but constant whispers of "Convict!" from the audience disturb his concentration.

While at work, Koichi becomes interested in a cold case involving the disappearance of three members of a family leaving only an unreliable witness, Saki Honda.

Real money comes in the form of loans from a cartel of Native Americans, led by billionaire Sam Birdwater, in control of Nike (renamed National Indian Knitting Enterprise).
In Ms. Clay's writing class, Javed develops a crush on a student activist named Eliza and becomes interested in the writing assignments. Javed talks to Ms. Clay after class about his poetry and diaries. During lunch Roops approaches him and gives him two Bruce Springsteen s, calling Springsteen "the direct line to all that is true in this shitty world." Javed faces constant racism from his peers and neighbours, and Malik forbids him to socialise, insisting he "follow the Jews" in his school because of their success as a people.
Meanwhile, the member berries flood the White House, where their leader, an aged Godfather-like berry, plans to bring back "the real Stormtroopers." Butters suddenly joins Cartman and Heidi Turner at the SpaceX building, hoping to leave Earth with them. Under the threat of Troll Trace, Butters has reversed his previous attitude toward women to the point where Heidi becomes interested in him, much to Cartman's annoyance. The three are disappointed to find that their desire to leave the planet was only taken metaphorically, as they are instead given a guided tour of the facility led by Elon Musk.

A girl named Harper Jambowski (voiced by Kristen Bell) becomes interested in signing up, and the two begin to spend time together. Lisa tries to calm Homer's anger about losing the chair by asking him to take her and Harper to an Australian boy band concert, for which Harper's father Mike has already bought tickets. Homer agrees, but is surprised to discover that the group's seats are in an expensive VIP skybox. Mike, a wealthy entrepreneur and owner of several businesses and sports teams, joins them in the box, and he and Homer strike up a friendship of their own.
When 17-year-old Jane Broadbent comes to London to live with her wealthy father Jimmy Broadbent, her stepmother Sheila feels compelled by her own social aspirations to introduce Jane to society. Jane is bored by the debutante balls she attends and the young men she is introduced to, but she becomes interested in a drummer named David Parkson who has a reputation for leading young women astray. To complicate matters, an upper-class man with perfect credentials, David Fenner, relentlessly pursues Jane although she openly detests him. Parkson's reputation is undeserved, but Sheila is convinced otherwise.

Visiting her at her cottage, the Narrator is struck by Bridget's grief at the loss of her daughter, and promises to help discover her whereabouts. During a holiday in Harrogate, the Narrator becomes interested in a striking young woman and her older companion Mrs Clarke, whom he sees on his walks across the moors. Eventually, he becomes acquainted with the couple, and he falls in love with the young woman. His eventual marriage proposal is rejected by Mrs Clarke, who tells him that there is a terrible secret which would prevent him from marrying her ward.
Yūta Togashi is a boy who, during junior high school, suffered from "chūnibyō", believing that he possessed supernatural powers and calling himself the "Dark Flame Master", therefore alienating himself from his classmates. Finding his past embarrassing, Yūta attempts to start off high school where he does not know anyone, free from his old delusions. This proves to be difficult, however, as a delusional girl in his class, Rikka Takanashi, learns of Yūta's past and becomes interested in him. As the plot progresses, Rikka becomes more attached to Yūta, who, despite finding her delusions irritating and embarrassing, accepts her.
They agree to be open and honest with each other, so Tamwar shows her the scars, stating this is the reason they have not had sex. They then have sex for the first time, and afterwards, Tamwar discovers Nancy is recording every seizure she has and they are becoming more frequent, and tells her to get help. Nancy becomes interested in Tamwar's religion and reads the Quran. Learning it would be against his beliefs to run a pub, Nancy suggests they set up a different business, and they trial a curry restaurant night at the laundrette.

As described in a film magazine, Joan (Normand), an orphan, becomes interested in the drilling of soldiers at an American World War I training camp near the orphan asylum of which she is an inmate. One day while evading the angry superintendent, she conceals herself in a cellar and discovers a meeting place of German spies who are plotting. She believes that, like a modern day Joan of Arc, she's listening to disembodied voices. She reports the matter to the major, who sets out to capture the spies and sends Joan to live with his mother.
When her husband tells her he wants a divorce, devastated Manhattan lawyer Diane heads upstate with her two teens to Woodstock to stay with her estranged hippie mother. In this charming village, Diane and her city kids get a new perspective on life: poetry-reading daughter Zoe becomes interested in a sensitive young butcher Cole, nerdy son Jake finds material for his first film project, and Diane herself grows close to a handsome carpenter/singer Jude. Most importantly, Diane finally gets the chance to end the ancient war with the mother she has not seen for decades.

A Baron visits, playing works by Schumann, and offers to be Cuffy's mentor and music teacher, but Mary refuses, despite Richard's insistence that Cuffy has a great ear that she cannot help any longer. Cuffy's memory fades, leaving only his play cry "Shooh, woman!" developed with the Dumplings.
Thanks to this warning, the nurse is able to alert the fire department and save her child. Later, Johnny sees that Weizak's mother, long thought to have died during World War II, is still alive, a fact the doctor later confirms for himself. Weizak concludes Johnny has unlocked a very new human ability "or a very old one." As the news media becomes interested in Johnny's predictions, he attempts to dissuade their interest by telling them he is not a psychic and not offering such services, he simply has "a feeling" sometimes when he touches people.
During the 1860s in Wiesbaden, Pauline Ostrovsky, a reformed addict, receives a manuscript from the dying writer Fedya (diminutive of Fyodor), in which he looks back at their first meeting: While traveling from Moscow to Paris, Fedya meets Pauline and secretly feels attracted to her. Noticing she is disembarking at Wiesbaden, Fedya decides to leave the train as well and follows her to a casino. There, he finds out Pauline is, like her father General Ostrovsky, a gambling addict. Upon seeing how undisturbed the Ostrovskys are to find out the General's wealthy mother is dying, he becomes interested in the effects of gambling.

During the winter of 1895–96 he makes his own version of a design by Léon Bollée that he has seen in Paris. Later he finds that another British group have bought the rights, therefore Austin has to come up with a design of his own.
Twenty years into Andrew's quest, he discovers Galatea, an NDR robot that has been modified with female personality and traits. Andrew becomes interested in how Galatea was modified by Rupert Burns, the son of the original NDR designer, and finds he has a number of potential ideas to help make robots appear more human-like. Andrew agrees to fund Rupert's work and to be a test subject, and is soon given a human-like appearance. Twenty years later, Andrew finally returns to the Martin home and finds that Amanda has grown old while Portia looks much like her grandmother at her age.
Tom sees her ghost on the ride and refuses to speak of it ever again, but Devin does not and becomes interested in the murder case. At the end of the summer, Devin decides to take a year off from school and stay at the park while it is closed. Erin researches the murder while back at school but plans a return visit to Joyland with Tom to present her findings to Devin. She brings pictures and articles, proving that this was only the latest in a string of unsolved murders, which had never been connected by the police.

Charlie reads Molly's book and becomes interested in helping her case, as he feels she has not committed serious enough wrongdoing to merit a prison term. Charlie negotiates a deal for Molly to receive no sentence and for her money to be returned in exchange for her hard drives and digital records from gambling.

Five friends, Scott (Zachary Soetenga) and his girlfriend Steph (Lindsey McKeon), Elena (Sofia Pernas), Trevor (Pierson Fode) and Charlie (Jamie Anderson) meet in Panama for vacation. While partying at night, Trevor meets the natives Carmen (Laura Penuela) and Julio (Juanxo Villaverd). Scott becomes interested in exploring the Darien Gap, despite a number of people believing that a group of teenagers were murdered by El Chupacabra in the area, including Julio who warns the group away from going. However, Carmen tells the group of a beautiful waterfall deep in the jungle and convinces them to hike there.
Reporter Paul Banner, a Canadian "noozeman", works at the Daily Comet in England. When a young boy witnesses a murder, the killer mistakenly tracks down the boy's friend and kills who he thinks is the only witness to the crime. Banner becomes interested in getting to the bottom of the murders but complications arise when Judy (Jill Adams), his ex-love, becomes involved. Banner sets out to find the killer, and has the help of Maxine (Diane Hart), a reporter with whom he works at the paper; the two have also been involved in a relationship.
Kara is organizing her annual "I Hate Valentine's Day" party, but soon becomes interested in sports reporter Kelvin Moore (Jamie Foxx), who was ordered to do a Valentine's Day report by his boss Susan Moralez (Kathy Bates), and who shares Kara's hatred of the holiday. Substituting for Paula's absent secretary is one of the firm's receptionists, Liz Curran (Anne Hathaway), who dates mail-room clerk Jason Morris (Topher Grace). Jason is shocked when Liz turns out to be moonlighting as a phone sex operator. Liz explains that she is only doing this because she has a $100,000 student loan to pay off.
Unfortunately for him, some of the siblings go to the police and detective Daniel Mandelshtam who is Tancred's best friend since childhood, is assigned to the case. At the same time several other people are involved in the hunt. Willow's former drug dealer Errol Colby, who Willow had told of her theory, also clumsily tries to partner with Tancred to find the supposed fortune. The artist who designed four of the pieces, Alexander von Würfel also becomes interested in the case after Willow, and later detective Mandelshtam, visit him to inquire about the nature of the pieces.
Hugh Travers, Jr. (Fisher) is left in charge of a large manufacturing business in Manhattan's Lower East Side through the death of his father, and is confronted by considerable unrest among the employees due to the socialist doctrines preached by Ivan Marask (Sarno). Disguising himself as a poor factory worker, he labors in his own mill and thus becomes interested in Nicholas Marinoff (Dowling), a socialist writer, and his niece Celeste Janvier (Love). Discharged for inciting the workers to violence, Marask determines to kill Travers. He tells Celeste of his intention and they both arrive at the Travers home at the same time.
While performing one night, Eddie spots David in the audience and once he finishes the song, brings David on stage and they sing together. After everyone leaves the club, Eddie and David have a drink at the bar and agree to start their own faction of the Temptations, along with Dennis Edwards, who was fired from the Temptations in 1978. Otis and Melvin move back to Detroit and go back under the Motown label and Shelly becomes their manager again. Not long after, Motown becomes interested in setting up a reunion tour between both sets of the Temptations.
After Musk explains that a Mars rocket is still several years away, he becomes interested in speeding up the process when offered Heidi's assistance. Detained in the Troll Trace building in Denmark, Gerald Broflovski is given a cell phone by the Troll Trace CEO and is told he can call anybody to help him, although it will end up revealing his identity as Skankhunt42. Gerald calls Ike and instructs him to continue trolling as Skankhunt42, effectively framing Ike when Sheila catches him. When Kyle comes home and finds Ike sitting in the timeout corner, Kyle suddenly realizes his father has been the troll all along.
Gi-Seok and Jung-In's parents have been pressuring her to get married even though she is not ready and after meeting Ji-Ho, she feels even more doubtful about marrying Gi-Seok. Ji-Ho becomes interested in Jeong-In after their first meeting, and intentionally does not respond to her texts so that she will come to pay him back instead of wiring him money. When she finally revisits the pharmacy, he implies his interest in her to which she responds that she could only be friends with him. She tells Ji-Ho that she is taken and he tells her that he is a single parent with a son.
Homer sees a commercial for a self-lifting chair and becomes interested in buying one, but the $1,100 price dismays him. After Lenny and Carl suggest that he try to raise the money through crowdfunding, Homer posts a video that persuades the residents of Springfield to donate. He soon has enough to buy the chair and posts a follow-up video of himself enjoying it, but the townspeople become so enraged upon seeing his frivolous use of their money that they storm the Simpson house and destroy the chair. Meanwhile, at Springfield Elementary, Lisa tries to attract potential members for the school magic club.
Nell (Beamer) and Lt. George Surratt (Gordon) are happily married, but Nell's sister Hester (Humphrey) is disappointed because she had hoped to obtain social standing and wealth through the marriage by Nell to an old but wealthy man. Shortly after the marriage, George joins the fighting men in France, but is later reported missing. Sir William Farrell, who cannot go to war because of lameness, becomes interested in Nell, and Hester, forcing Nell to believe her husband is dead, urges her to accept Sir William's proposal. Although Hester tries to intercept it, Nell receives a message that George is alive but suffering from shell shock.
Although she had never actually seen him, Isafuyu used to borrow his powers whenever she needed to exorcise demons, and took Kunieda to his abode when she requested assistance in this regard. :Koma at first demurs and threatens to sever his agreement with Isafuyu, but becomes interested in Kunieda when he realises she can hear his voice. He then reveals to be quite perverted, trying to get Kunieda to answer questions about her growth and underwear, and revealing that he posed the same questions to Isafuyu in exchange for assistance. Kunieda then becomes enraged and uses her swordstyle to attack Koma's house and force him to reveal himself.
However, his patriarchal attitudes, disregard for mortals, and unreasonable demands have sometimes led to conflict with his followers, particularly their champion Wonder Woman. After Wonder Woman's defeat of Ares, which caused the latter to go into self-exile, Zeus becomes interested in Diana and wants her virginity, offering to make her a goddess. Diana becomes the first woman ever to refuse his advances while professing love for him as god and father. Enraged at being rejected, Zeus threatens her, but is summoned back to Olympus by Hera at the urging at the Goddesses who created the Amazons and are incensed themselves at Zeus for trying to make Themyscira his personal brothel.
In the 1990s, Jacques Pugin becomes interested in the still images as they are taken from a video source, giving rise to a series of photographs entitled Blue Mountain and a book of the same name, with text by Jean-Michel Olivier, published by Idees et Calendes. His investigations then develop into a few series on the theme of vegetation. In the 2000s, he travels worldwide – especially to African deserts, India and Latin America- for a large work entitled Sacred Sites (2002–present), supported by a grant of the Leenaards Foundation. Since 2005 he also devotes his practice to mountain landscapes, with his series The Mountain Shadow.
Runk tells Donald it's time for cabin cleaning, but becomes interested in Donald's tape recorder. Donald fools him into thinking it's a computer that analyzes him in an insulting way, and Donald strikes up an immediate enmity with Runk, only to be saved by another CIT, Chris Wade, who dismisses Runk. At the dinner shortly afterwards, everyone says hello to the returning counselors Ed Heinz and Jack Caldwell, and Ed leads them in a welcoming applause for the new camp director Mr. Warren. Some of the boys recognize him as an old principal from their school and grumble about how strict his ruling of the camp will probably be.
A musically talented young woman named Marjorie who is part of a stage show, meets a warehouse clerk named Al West who has put together an unusual jazz band. She becomes interested in him and his work and so manages to use her influence to get him into the program for one of the shows at her theatre company. The manager, Max Mindel has a dislike towards Marjorie so after discovering her affection towards Al, he gives the band notice and hires harmony singers Barney and Bey as a replacement. Marjorie makes up to both men and soon breaks up the duo, getting rid of the competition.
Bruno also becomes interested in her romantically. Ewa looks for her expatriate relatives living in New York, but her uncle by marriage turns her in to the authorities; he says he had heard she had gotten in trouble for engaging in illicit behavior on the ship from Europe, and he wishes to distance himself from sheltering a prostitute. Policemen take her back to Ellis Island, and once again she is slated for deportation. While at Ellis Island Ewa watches a performance by Emil (Jeremy Renner) (Bruno's cousin, making a living as a performing illusionist called Orlando); after his performance he hands her a white rose.
While waiting for their school bus, a group of children tell stories to pass the time. Mark's friend Anna tells a story about Hitler's secret daughter Heidi, a young girl who was kept hidden to maintain the secret of her identity. The other children are captivated by the story, which Anna tells with great detail and realism. As the children listen to the story about Heidi's life, her relationship with her father, and her increasing awareness of Hitler's evil plans, Mark becomes interested in learning more about the actual history of Hitler and World War II, and wonders how he would have acted in Heidi's place.
Sixteen-year-old Nancy Drew wishes to help the Turners, who are struggling relatives of the recently deceased Josiah Crowley, by finding a missing will that can give them claim to Crowely's estate. Aided along the way by chum Helen Corning, she becomes interested in the case because she dislikes Crowley's snobbish nouveau-riche social-climbing heirs presumptive, the Tophams. A nasty encounter at a department store allows Nancy to discredit the Topham sisters when they break an expensive imported vase. Interviewing various Crowley relatives and friends, Nancy learns from an injured old lady that Crowley hinted that the clue to his will would be found in the family clock.
Though his film proves to be a failure, this only made Nagatsuka resolved to take up film studies as his college subject. ; :A boy who becomes interested in and joins Ishida's group of friends upon learning they are making a movie. He is eager to be the leading actor and is considered handsome and talented enough to do so. Mashiba was lonely as a child and the other children took him for granted and bullied him, now he is completely intolerant of bullies in any form and while generally calm and level headed he reacts violently to any random act of bullying he sees.
He also becomes interested in investigating Fairweather, a famous mathematician who lived shortly before his time, and his son Fairweather II, whom he discovers led a rebellion, which was defeated. Eventually he is given a show trial and deported to another planet, where he meets Fairweather II. In this world, Jesus Christ became a revolutionary agitator and was never subjected to crucifixion. He assembled an army to overthrow the Roman Empire, and established a theocracy that has lasted until the twentieth century. He was killed by a crossbow while entering Rome, so the crossbow becomes a religious symbol similar to the cross in our time-line.
New Mutants #35 After this, she becomes interested in Cable,Cable #12 but does not pursue it after she learns that he is the son of Cyclops, from the future. Lee returns years later as the skipper for an expedition force which, after sailing through a dimensional warp within the Bermuda Triangle, is stranded in an alternate Earth, the same one the adventurer James Scully (who had been hired to join the expedition as a guide) once traveled to. After three years, the only three surviving members - Stanislaus, Forrester and Scully - send a message buoy through the dimensional rift which brought them to this world.
Claire encounters an abandoned baby while jogging and becomes determined to adopt her. Davis suddenly becomes interested in philosophy rather than box-office profits after being shot in the leg by a man trying to steal his watch, vowing to devote the remainder of his career to eliminating violence from the cinema. The film chronicles how these characters—as well as various acquaintances, co-workers and relatives—are affected by their interactions in the light of life-changing events. In the end, they visit the Grand Canyon on a shared vacation trip, united in a place that is philosophically and actually "bigger" than all their little separate lives.
All that remains of the Welser bank is a safe deposit box containing the bank's documents. The adventurers study the documents, finding out that the bank was founded by Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada, Nicolaus Federmann, and Sebastián de Belalcázar, who had met each other at the Cundinamarca Plateau in Omagua and made a contract with each other. When Huey, Dewey, and Louie tell Scrooge that Omagua is also known as Eldorado, Scrooge becomes interested in finding this lost place. The boys' Junior Woodchucks Guidebook tells them that the documents confirming the ownership of Eldorado were given to a monastery in Bogota, Colombia, so the Ducks decide that they should head there next.
A griefer repeatedly kills Cartman, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny's characters in the online game World of Warcraft. Stan's father, Randy, becomes interested in the game, but does not survive long before being killed by the griefer, a high-ranking player character who kills other player characters at will; the griefer in reality is a middle-aged obese man who represents the stereotypical comic book, PC gamer nerd. Cartman gathers all the kids of South Park and convinces them all to log in at the same time in order to execute a retaliatory attack on the griefer. However, once the battle begins, the griefer summons giant scorpions and easily dispatches the kids' characters.
To her distress, she learns that the editorial board of the Review of Applied Ethics, which she edits, has decided to replace her, an action that she effectively reverses although not without her usual philosophical qualms and musings. Meanwhile, she becomes interested in the life and recent death of Andrew McInnes, an artist most of whose paintings feature the island of Jura and who was lost in a boating accident there some years previously. Travelling with her fiancé, Jamie, and Charlie to the place of his loss she discovers new information about a more recent painter who was painting similar scenes. Her investigations into a possible art fraud unearth something quite unexpected.
Lex makes his first appearance outside of the television series in the novel Smallville: Strange Visitors, published by Aspect. When a couple of con artists arrive in Smallville promoting miracle cures created by the meteor rocks, Lex becomes interested in what they are really after, as he believes their plans could hinder the research he is doing on the meteor rocks. After Jacobi and Wolfe's con is realized, Lex uses a dummy corporation to steal all of the meteor rocks Jacobi's Ascendence Foundation has collected. In Smallville: Dragon, Lex throws a party at his mansion for the local teenagers, that is ultimately crashed by a reptilian creature that was created by the meteor rocks.
Beckett later confesses to her psychologist that she remembers everything upon getting shot, including Castle confessing his feelings for her, but does not admit this to anyone else. She refuses to pursue any relationship (including with Castle), until the man behind her mother and Roy Montgomery's deaths has been caught. In "Eye of the Beholder", Beckett is upset when Castle becomes interested in another woman, Serena Kaye, but refuses to acknowledge her feelings towards Castle, leading her psychologist to question whether she's worried that he will wait or that he will not. Castle becomes worried about Beckett when they are working on a sniper case ("Kill Shot"), and realizes that she is suffering from PTSD from her shooting.
He gets Jing to work in the same company and introduces him to Lucy and her friend, Banana Fung (Chingmy Yau), who later on becomes interested in him. From here Jing attempts to embarrass Kit in front of Lucy at every turn, which includes having Kit drink a cola can dosed with 'irresistible aphrodisiac', a medicine that makes the victim unable to control his sexual desires, but Kit cleverly avoids all of Jing's tricks (without suspecting him). It isn't until a contract-signing event which Kit is responsible for that Jing succeeds, in which he makes everyone from his company leave the room and assaults the other party. As a result, Kit is fired.
Heller's (John Larch) gang of outlaws pull a robbery, kill a man and ride toward Mexico, fleeing a posse. To spend the night, they first head for the border town of Quantez, but are shocked to discover that it has become a ghost town, with no one else there. Gentry (Fred MacMurray), the gang's most experienced man, finds liquor in the saloon, while Teach (John Gavin), a younger gunslinger, becomes interested in Chaney (Dorothy Malone), who is Heller's woman but upset over the murder during the holdup. Gato, who was raised by Apaches, is infuriated by Heller's referring to him as "breed" and making him proceed on foot after a horse collapses from exhaustion.

Joaquin is haunted by death after both his parents and his best friend Gabriel were killed in separate, horrific accidents that Joaquin himself survived, but things appear to be looking up: a conglomerate becomes interested in syndicating Ghost Radio to the United States and providing Joaquin with a much larger, mainstream audience beyond his local, devoted followers. With the additional attention brought on by his increasing popularity, Joaquin reluctantly engages in an interview about his program with Newsweek magazine.
