She moves in with her friend's family, whose stepdaughter Lily inspires her to come up with a plan – become hired as a teacher at Lily's school, Richard Nixon Middle School, meet and marry a rich single father, and return to the extravagant lifestyle to which she was accustomed. Using a fake résumé and her feminine charm, she gets Principal Carl Gaines to hire her. The faculty includes Joel, a former high school classmate who is now a gym teacher; Irene, a shy fellow teacher who becomes excited to have a new friend; and Ginny, faculty president who resents Meredith and is suspicious of her.

Godber becomes excited that he, Fletcher, and some of the other prisoners will be forming a work party and heading outside of Slade Prison for the day. However, Fletcher is less excited, due to the fact he knows they will be mostly working on digging up drainage ditches under the supervision of prison officer Mackay, and that Ives will be part of the party as well, although takes some reassurances that prison officer Barrowclough will be joining them as well. Later that morning, while the men are digging at the side of a local road, Mackay leaves Barrowclough in charge while he heads off in the prison van to run an errand in the nearby village. Although Barrowclough tries to lay down ground rules with the prisoners, the men soon take advantage of him, including taking a smoke break in a nearby church.

Although Twilight becomes excited by the news of this royal wedding and realizes that she was a childhood friend, she begins to have concerns about the marriage when she notices Cadance isn't behaving like the friendly, caring individual that she remembered her to be when she was her old babysitter. The premiere of "A Canterlot Wedding" was preceded by a major marketing campaign by the channel, which featured interactive content on the network's web site, promotional events, and a print advertisement taking the form of a formal wedding announcement in The New York Times newspaper. The episode debuted to excellent ratings and was positively received by critics, who felt that the hour-long special was highly ambitious for a children's program, and a further justification for the Brony community that the Friendship Is Magic series has developed. The first half of the episode was watched by over 483,000 viewers and the second half was watched by over 475,000.

Then, a man painted completely orange (Peter Geeves) comes onto the scene, who runs around the men and then taps the Tango drinker on the back. The Tango drinker turns around, and the orange man slaps him across the cheeks, and then runs off, leaving the drinker startled, although the other men beside the drinker do not observe or respond to the orange man and the slap. Ralph becomes excited as he reveals this to be "Tango taste sensation" and asks Tony to rewind the clip again to the same point as before, this time showing the orange man sprint out from behind a pillar box and shows the same events as before with Ralph and Tony providing commentary. The advertisement ends with the drinker looking at his Tango can in question, followed by a behind shot of the Tango can on top of the orange man's head, which bears the slogan "You Know When You've Been Tango'd".
