Tristram of Lyonesse is a long epic poem written by the British poet Algernon Charles Swinburne, that recounts in grand fashion the famous medieval story of the ill-fated lovers Tristan and Isolde (Tristram and Iseult in Swinburne's version). It was first published in 1882 by Chatto and Windus, in a volume entitled Tristram of Lyonesse and Other Poems. Swinburne himself considered Tristram of Lyonesse to be the crowning achievement of his poetic career (quoted by Harrison, p. 96). William Morris (referring to this poem) commented that Swinburne's work 'always seemed to me to be founded on literature, not on nature'.

In July 1920, the Armenian Regiment was formed in Gandzak within the 20th Division of the RSFSR's 11th Army, which was sent to Baku on July 27 to reinforce the 32nd Division. The Armenian Regiment had a strength of 750 soldiers, mostly participants of the pro-Bolshevik May Uprising. The Armenian Separate Rifle Regiment would be founded on 16 October 1920 in Baku, attached to the 32nd Division, led by its commander Ivan Panfilov and military commissar Garegin Yesayan. The Regiment moved into Armenia with the 20th Rifle Division in November and then entered Yerevan with the 11th Red Army via Kanaker.

In addition, Leonardo is credited with the first use of anamorphosis, the use of a "perspective" to produce an image that is intelligible only with a curved mirror or from a specific vantage point. Leonardo wrote: > Those who are in love with practice without knowledge are like the sailor > who gets into a ship without rudder or compass and who never can be certain > whether he is going. Practice must always be founded on sound theory, and to > this Perspective is the guide and the gateway; and without this nothing can > be done well in the matter of drawing.

'Chi Psi (') is a fraternity consisting of active chapters (known as "Alphas") at 32 American colleges and universities. The mission of the Chi Psi Fraternity is to create and maintain an enduring society which encourages the sharing of traditions and values, respect for oneself and others, and responsibility to the university and community. Chi Psi was founded on Thursday May 20, 1841, by 10 students at Union College in Schenectady, New York with the idea of emphasizing the fraternal and social principles of a brotherhood. It was the first Greek-letter organization to be founded on these grounds, rather than the literary characteristics of the seven then-existing societies.

The convent with a capacity of forty nuns popularly called the Baronnesses (las Baronesas) by be founded on a site (currently in front of the Círculo de Bellas Artes's headquarters) loan by Beatriz de Silveyra, Baroness of Castel Florido, bound for the creation of a convent placed under the patronage of the Nativity of Our Lady and St. Joseph. This site was purchased with money that left her husband, Jorge Paz de Silveyra, at dying. In this site was located previously the Mesón del Toro. The commission of its construction went for master builder Juan de Lobera who died during the execution of the works in 1680.

For example, imprisonment or other physical confinement, financial penalties, dismissal from employment or loss of promotion, threat of denunciation to authorities, or deprivation of food, shelter or other necessities may constitute a menace of a penalty. The absence of a voluntary offer refers to the principle that all work relations should be founded on the mutual consent of the contracting parties. The worker must have a right to freely choose to enter into employment and also freely leave the employment at any time with reasonable notice in accordance with national law or collective agreement. The consent to work has to be freely given and informed, and exist throughout the employment relationship.

The settlement developed by this multi-channel ford of the River Colne and its distributaries, which presented numerous obstacles for travellers to and from the west of the edge of Middlesex, on the old Bath Road west out of London. Longford may be founded on a small Saxon settlement dating from the 5th to 7th century AD. Historic buildings survive from the medieval and immediate post-medieval periods. At the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine it started and maintained a free clinic completely run by students to provide podiatric medical care to the less fortunate in Cleveland. At Scholl and California, it provided a cornerstone for student social life and grew to be a “vivid social experience” for podiatric medical students.

A competing vision is that democratic citizenship may be founded on a "culture of participation". This orientation has sometimes been termed the civic- republican or classical conception of citizenship since it focuses on the importance of people practicing citizenship actively and finding places to do this. Unlike the liberal-individualist conception, the civic-republican conception emphasizes man's political nature, and sees citizenship as an active, not passive, activity. A general problem with this conception, according to critics, is that if this model is implemented, it may bring about other issues such as the free rider problem in which some people neglect basic citizenship duties and consequently get a free ride supported by the citizenship efforts of others.

Born in 1922, Tate learned the value of education early on from his mother, not just as a means of personal growth, but as a way to combat oppression. He quoted her as saying "If you become a man of thought and learning, may you never fail with your right hand to tear down what your left hand has built up through years of thought and study if you see it not to be founded on that which is [true]." Tate would go on to attend Fort Valley State University, graduating at the age of 20, with a degree in Education. Later, he would become the first African-American to earn a PhD from the University of Kentucky.

Early advocate for Australian federation, John Dunmore Lang, backed Sydney, but Henry Parkes, a prominent New South Wales politician and Premier, proposed the capital be founded on "neutral ground", nominating the town of Albury as a location. The British Government took the decision to settle what is now Australia and found the Botany Bay colony in August 1786. Lord Sydney, as Secretary of State for the Home Office, was the minister in charge, and in September 1786 he appointed Phillip commodore of the fleet which was to transport the convicts and soldiers who were to be the new settlers to Botany Bay. Upon arrival there, Phillip was to assume the powers of Captain General and Governor in Chief of the new colony. A subsidiary colony was to be founded on Norfolk Island, as recommended by Sir John Call, to take advantage for naval purposes of that island's native flax (harakeke) and timber.

It was among the first denominations in the United States to be founded on racial rather than theological distinctions and has persistently advocated for the civil and human rights of African Americans through social improvement, religious autonomy, and political engagement. Sohn- Rethel believed this type of abstraction to be the real basis of formal and abstract thinking. All of Kant's categories such as space, time, quality, substance, accident, movement and so forth are implicit in the act of exchange. Readers of Marx will not be entirely surprised by such a genealogy, since Marx himself suggested that the ideas of freedom and equality, at least as we know them so far, are rooted in the exchange of commodities. Sohn- Rethel's work on the nature of 'real abstraction' has been amplified and extended by the writers of Arena (Australian publishing co-operative), especially the notion that a post-marxist social and historical analysis can be founded on the 'real abstraction' principle.

It is highlighted by the "Burning Torch" representing the "lumen Christi," or the light of Christ, which is always given to those who earnestly seek for knowledge and truth. In the late 19th Century the castle and the estate acquired its present appearance thanks to Baron François de Loë, who remodelled it in a neo-Gothic style to the plans of Lambert de Fisenne. Throughout most of the 20th century, the castle and its estate were in the hands of the Orange-Nassau mine, and the castle housed some of their staff. In the castle grounds at that time was a large outdoor swimming pool, in which whole generations of the people of Heerlen learned to swim. After the closure of the mine the government suggested that a major theme park should be founded on the estate, an idea squashed by the people of Heerlen after a large-scale and widely supported protest.

Miguel Gerónimo de Esparza died on September 10, 1767, receiving the funeral honors on the part of its comrades of the Cabildo, including Vicente de Azcuénaga and Manuel de Basavilbaso, alcaldes of first and second voto. His wife, Doña Antonia Cabral de Melo, died in 1769. Juan Miguel de Esparza and Antonia Cabral de Melo were owners of a luxurious house, built of bricks and tile roof, with a kitchen, a bedroom, a loft with two bedrooms, a water well, an orchard, fruit trees. It was located on the streets San Martín and Piedad, current Calle Reconquista and Bartolomé Mitre, barrio de San Nicolás, and inherited by his daughters Sebastiana and Leonor de Esparza, who requested in their will that a Chaplaincy be founded on the same site of the house.

The court followed Shell Co of Australia Ltd v Rohm and Haas Co, that "right to registration depends...on proprietorship of a mark" but like Shell adheres to the English case In re Hudson's Trade MarksIn re Hudson's Trade Marks (1886) 32 311. when the "trade mark...has never [been] used...at all". While in Holland, Browne wrote treatises that laid out the essential features of Congregationalism. Browne argued for a church only of genuine, regenerate believers and criticised the Anglicans for including all English people within their church. In a June 2012 opinion piece, Jensen argued that the acceptance of same-sex marriage is not "for the moral good". The Italian resistance movement ( or just ) is an umbrella term for Italian resistance groups during World War II. It was opposed to the forces of Nazi Germany as well as Nazi Germany's Italian puppet state regime, the Italian Social Republic, especially following the German invasion and military occupation of Italy between September 1943 and April 1945, (though the resistance to the Fascist Italian government began even prior to World War II). Known as partisans (), the brutal conflict they took part in is referred to as the Italian Liberation War (when referring to the part they took in the Italian Campaign against the Germans and the rest of the Axis) or as the Italian Civil War (when referring specifically to their conflict with Italian Fascists). The modern Italian Republic was declared to be founded on the struggle of the Resistance.

E. Meyer, Gustaf Rosenhane (1888) Her poems as well as her written study work and books have been preserved and are an object of research. Beata Rosenhane long refused to marry, though she was, after the death of her father in 1663, pressured by her family to do so. She explained that she had seen many fiances become husbands and that she did not believe them capable of any love which could give a woman happiness: that she believed that a marriage should be founded on love and that the man selected by her family was not to her taste and would not be able to pass the test and love her. Eventually, she saw herself forced to give in because of the alternative as a spinster, which would be even less independent than that of a wife.

Wellington East Girls' was built on reserve land bordering Wellington College in 1925, to cope with the demand for female education in Wellington at the time. By the end of the First World War, there were over 800 pupils at Wellington Girls’ High School (now Wellington Girls' College) in Thorndon, and teaching became severely hampered by the overcrowding - so much so that rooms in nearby houses were rented out to use as classrooms. Miss A. M. Batham, who had served on the staff at Wellington Girls for 22 years and would be the first Headmistress of Wellington East, petitioned the Board of Governors repeatedly until it was agreed that a new school would be founded on the other side of the city. The school was originally named Mt Victoria Girls College but was changed to avoid confusion with Victoria University of Wellington, which was called Victoria University College at the time.

The United States was the first country to be founded on the liberal ideas of John Locke and other philosophers of the Enlightenment, with no monarchy and no hereditary aristocracy, and while individual states had established religions, the federal government was kept from establishing religion by the First Amendment. John N. Robinson, Woman Reading a Bible (Maude Jones), 1940, oil on canvas, 27 3/16 × 23 1/4 inches Robinson was a realist who painted the people and places of his family home, his neighborhood, and the city in which he lived. Called "quiet and conscientious" and using an approach that was said to be founded on "sincerity and humility," he painted his sitters in a way that revealed their individual character. His work shows no resentment at the injustices he endured through loss of his parents while young and a life marked by poverty and the scourges of then-prevailing racial prejudice, but rather, as one critic said, brought "back the days of traditional family life, love, and happiness." Dubuat, therefore, assumed it as a proposition of fundamental importance that, when water flows in any channel or bed, the accelerating force which obliges it to move is equal to the sum of all the resistances which it meets with, whether they arise from its own viscosity or from the friction of its bed. This principle was employed by him in the first edition of his work, which appeared in 1779. The theory contained in that edition was founded on the experiments of others, but he soon saw that a theory so new, and leading to results so different from the ordinary theory, should be founded on new experiments more direct than the former, and he was employed in the performance of these from 1780 to 1783. He and his wife Acca Larentia, who had always wanted a child but never had one, raised the twins, who would later feature prominently in the events leading up to the founding of Rome (named after Romulus, who eventually killed Remus in a fight over whether the city should be founded on the Palatine Hill or the Aventine Hill). Legendary and fictional children are often depicted as growing up with relatively normal human intelligence and skills and an innate sense of culture or civilization, coupled with a healthy dose of survival instincts. The following year, President Calvin Coolidge signed the Air Commerce Act, which shifted the management of air routes to a new branch in the Department of Commerce, which was also responsible for “licensing of planes and pilots, establishing safety regulations, and general promotion.” Barnstorming “seemed to be founded on bravado, with ‘one-upmanship’ a major incentive.” By 1927, competition among barnstormers resulted in their performing increasingly dangerous tricks, and a rash of highly publicized accidents led to new safety regulations, which led to the demise of barnstorming.

Proclus, the scholiast to Euclid, knew Eudemus of Rhodes' History of Geometry well, and gave a short sketch of the early history of geometry, which appeared to be founded on the older, lost book of Eudemus. Nor can the morality of an action be founded on the true or false judgments causally linked to it: no immoral action is wrong due to its arising from a mistake of fact, or (contra Wollaston) due to its causing false judgments in others. After summing up this critique, Hume develops a "more particular" case against rationalism, recalling his system's two kinds of reasoning: "the comparing of ideas" and "the inferring of matter of fact". Now as for demonstrative reasoning, the four abstract relations from Book 1 seem perfectly irrelevant to morality, and indeed it is hard to see how any relation could have just the right scope (holding only between someone's psychology and external situation) and the right practical implications as well (somehow it must be certain a priori that no rational being could consider these relations without being motivated accordingly). Consider the immorality of parricide and incest: this cannot consist merely in the abstract relations at play, for the very same relations can be found in perfectly non-moral contexts involving inanimate objects and animals.

The cathedral was born the day of the founding of Calabozo, on 1 February 1724, as regards Lucas Guillermo Castillo Lara in his book on the village of All Saints of Calabozo (Villa de Todos los Santos de Calabozo): "Father Cadiz blessed in God's name to land that received them and the men who peopled". All proclaimed one will be founded on behalf of the Royal Majesty; after Friar accompanied by the villagers planted a simple cross to secure the site of the future church, traced to string the rectangle of the square, he outlined the four first streets and distributed the twelve first solar until April 1729 when, during the visit of Bishop Juan José Calatayud, as such was built between 1754 and 1790 to slow its construction.

Tusell 2002, p. 97 in private he confessed to an Italian envoy that he would found a political association, be its leader and endeavor to unite the parties.Franco also added – at last according to a report by the Italian envoy Danzi to Rome – that he would attempt to unite all parties “along the lines of the Fascist Party”, Preston 1995, p. 249 Some of these speaking to him noted he started to emphasize that current provisional status had to be replaced with some permanent solution.Tusell 2002, p. 98 In February he also ventured to offer some thoughts on “ideologia nacional”; having ignored all other groupings he suggested it should possibly be founded on Falangism and Traditionalism, though he also rejected the idea of reproducing a Fascist scheme.Tusell 2002, p. 99, Payne 2000, p. 263 Members of Carlist female section, Margaritas During late winter and early spring of 1937 Franco talked to Italian Fascist heavyweights Farinacci, Cantalupo and Danzi; all tried to inspire him towards a long-term solution modelled after Italy, based on the concept of a monopolist Partido Nacional Español state party.

After 1934, Verdinaso shifted its focus towards a Belgian identity circa 1939, becoming a bilingual (French-Dutch) party, believing that the Belgian state should be founded on Roman Catholic corporatism – an economic model interpreted by Verdinaso from the Catholic social teaching, and akin to Integralism and the Action Française (an influence on Van Severen). The party virulently opposed Communism on the left and liberal capitalism on the right; it was also somewhat antisemitic, occasionally venting the opinion that Jews, as well as Freemasons constituted a hidden power working against the interests of Dietsland. In the elections of May 24, 1936, Verdinaso ran on a common list with other Flemish nationalists under the common denominator Vlaams Nationaal Block, gaining 13% of the vote and 16 deputy seats; in 1939, it peaked at 15% of the vote and 17 seats. The DINASO Militanten Orde had around 3,000 members, grouped under the leadership of François, and edited the newspapers Recht en Trouw and De Vlag (placed under the leadership of Moens).

Conclusions from the above arguments as foundations of the Reform, and correct stipulation of everybody's rights The argument resulted in an enumeration of twenty numbered articles: I. Freedom is an inalienable right of all Dutch citizens. No power on Earth can impede them to make use of that Freedom II. This Freedom would be illusory if it would not be founded on the right to be governed under laws to which the citizens have consented, either in person, or by their representatives III. These representatives must not be independent of those they represent, and their appointment by the People according to a constant and regulated system is an appropriate means to prevent such independence IV. The return of this right of appointment to the People must consist of either annual election by the People of municipal magistrates, or at least the nomination of the candidates from which the magistrates co-opt new members of the magistracy V. Though sovereignty ultimately belongs to the People, for practical reasons government must be left to state colleges and departments. The People retain the right to influence government by petitions and addresses.
