The Zero Bridge is still the first bridge downstream of the Jhelum while entering the Srinagar city and the next upstream crossing is located near Pantha Chowk in the city outskirts. At present, the old wooden structure of the bridge is being replaced by a new one, preserving the original architecture and the bridge would continue to be a pedestrian crossing and a heritage site. The vehicular traffic is currently handled by the Abdullah Bridge, located roughly 200 metres downstream.

The University of Central Florida has a unique campus layout that has become a model for other universities, reminiscent of the plans by Walt Disney for his Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, or EPCOT. The campus was designed to be a pedestrian oriented campus, with a series of concentric circles. The outermost circle is Gemini Blvd, which is also the main road for vehicular traffic on campus. Inside of Gemini, there is Apollo Circle, Mercury Circle, and finally Pegasus Circle as the innermost circle.

Simmons Building along the RiverWalk Much of the East Village redevelopment consists of mixed-use buildings, housing both residential and retail uses. This will be most apparent on ‘The Riff’. The Riff will be a pedestrian street bisecting the neighbourhood from the northeast to the southwest, from the George C. King Bridge to 8th Avenue SE. The Riff will be a major retail street, housing an as yet unknown collection of retailers. In late 2016, RioCan Developments started construction on a major new retail destination known as 5th and Third.

Mueller is a Planned Unit Development (PUD) in the east-central portion of the city of Austin, Texas, United States. The project is in the process of long- term development on the former site of the Robert Mueller Municipal Airport, which was closed in 1999 upon the opening of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in southeast Austin, itself a civilian adaptation of Bergstrom Air Force Base after its closure in the early 1990s. Mueller is intended to be a pedestrian-oriented, interactive mixed-use community, and a model for responsible urban planning and development.

The next parts of the street in the northern direction to the Liberty Square were revitalized and excluded from street traffic in 1993-1997. They were paved with black cobblestones imitating the old pavement and equipped with more and more beautiful elements of the so-called street furniture. Every new part, however, has another kind of surface and another style of decorative elements, which is being criticized as well. Even before the last part of the street, which was meant to be a pedestrian precinct, could be given to the public use, the cobblestones on the first part were remarkably destroyed.

In January 2006, the bridge was relocated to the Union Station in Kansas City to be a pedestrian crossing over the railroad tracks there.Pencoyd Bridge; Jackson County, Missouri (Bridgehunter.com) The bridge was originally built as a three span thru-truss, but after relocation, it was rebuilt with two spans instead of three, and adapted into what was renamed the Freight House Pedestrian Bridge. In January 2014, it was renamed Michael R. Haverty Freight House Bridge in recognition of Mike Haverty, who had been the chair of the Union Station Kansas City Board from 2005 to 2012.

Architect Branislav Jovin, who projected and reconstructed many of the Belgrade's landmark features (original Belgrade Metro project, Mostar interchange, Autokomanda, Knez Mihailova) considers that the bridge is not important for the traffic anyway, but it could be a pedestrian one. They both agreed that the city government is throwing money on unnecessary projects. In another confusing statement by the city architect Folić, he said that the bridge will not be removed, that it will remain at the same place, but it will get a new shape, repeating what he was saying previous year and a half. A commission will decide whether they will keep the existing arch or the bridge would look completely different.

The block of 4th street between Trinity and Neches street will be a pedestrian plaza equipped with ticket kiosks, shade trees, and benches. In 2019, Capital Metro was forced to cut back the design of the new station due to a shortage of labor and tariffs imposed by the Trump Administration that raised the price of steel. The changes include shortening the northernmost track to allow it to hold only 1 train instead of 2, reducing the number of shade canopies from 7 to 5, temporarily removing ticketing kiosks, and removing some landscaping and decorative concrete from the pedestrian plaza. The stripped design will reduce the station's capacity from 6 trains to 4 trains, and only the middle of the 3 tracks will be long enough to hold a 2-unit consist.
