Yokun Ridge includes, from south to north, West Stockbridge Mountain , Lenox Mountain , Yokun Seat , The Damp , and Mahanna Cobble . Subordinate peaks located off the main ridge crest include Baldhead (now wooded at its summit), Osceola Mountain , and The Cobble . Water bodies related to the ridge include Lake Averic, Fairfield Pond, the two Lenox Reservoirs, Shadowbrook Reservoir (also called Monks Pond locally), and Darey Pond, as well a number of small brooks, ponds, and wetlands. Early 20th century Sumner Dudley, long active in both the New York and New Jersey YMCA movements, was asked in 1884 to take "young honor YMCA members" camping. In 1885, he took seven boys for a week's encampment at Orange Lake, N. J. The next year Dudley moved the site to Twin Islands, Lake Wawayanda, N.J. Ultimately, the camp settled on Lake Champlain, N.Y., in 1908. Dudley referred to the first camp as Camp Baldhead , and later the Boys' Camping Society (B.C.S.). After Dudley's death in 1897, the camp was renamed Camp Dudley.

European settlers logged the area's forests for lumber and charcoal, the latter used as a source for nearby iron foundries, which helped supply ordnance in the American Civil War. During the late 19th Century's Gilded Age much of Yokun Ridge was held by a handful of large estates, including the Stokes property, whose 1894 "Shadowbrook Cottage" below Baldhead was at the time reputedly the largest residence in America. It later became the site of a Catholic seminary and was subsequently destroyed by fire . The seminary's replacement building is currently occupied by the health and yoga retreat Kripalu.

Campers at a YMCA camp in Huguenot YMCA camping began in 1885 when Camp Baldhead (later known as Camp Dudley) was established by G.A. Sanford and Sumner F. Dudley on Orange Lake in New Jersey as the first residential camp in North America in operation today. The camp later moved to Lake Champlain near Westport, New York. Victor "Vic" Ruggiero, (also known as Rugaroo, Bad Vic or Lord Sluggo) is a musician, songwriter and producer from New York City who has played in reggae, blues, ska and rocksteady bands since the early 1990s, including The Slackers, Stubborn All-Stars, SKAndalous All Stars, Crazy Baldhead and The Silencers (not to be confused with the Scottish rock band The Silencers). He has also performed with punk rock band Rancid, both live and in the studio. He has released four solo acoustic albums and continues to tour and record worldwide. Ruggiero is known primarily as a singer and organist, although he also plays piano, bass, banjo, cigar box guitar, guitar, harmonica and percussion.

Waldemar Łysiak (born 22 March 1944) is a bestselling Polish writer, art historian and journalist, who has written under his own name as well as the pseudonyms 'Valdemar Baldhead' (a rough translation of his name), 'Archibald', 'Mark W. Kingden', 'Rezerwowy Ł.'. He is notable as an author of numerous books on the Napoleonic era, both historical and fiction. He also owns a large number of rare prints and manuscripts, among others the poems by Norwid and the only surviving copy of Kochanowski's Treny. He is well known for his traditional and deeply anti-communist views, and is the father of Tomasz Łysiak, who is a well-known radio journalist, actor and a fantasy writer.

Peters started singing in Church at the age of nine, and also sang in her schools’ choir. She considers her years as a member of the Anglican Cathedral Youth Choir as her training ground and among her most rewarding experiences. Claudette started her career singing in hotels. After, debuting with “Ken Phoenix and Company” she moved on to be the lead female vocalist for several local bands including Dread & the Baldhead, High Intensity and Da Bhann. In 1996, Claudette captured the Miss Teenage Pageant title, a feature of Antigua’s annual Carnival celebration. About a decade later, she was elevated by her country and the Queen of England to the title of “Order of The Most Princely Heritage (OH)”.

Mys Lysaya Golova is about west-northwest of Cape Chukotsky. Providence Bay is about 8 km wide at its mouth and 34 km long (measured along the midline). It is about 4 km wide through much of its length below Emma Harbor, and about 2.5 km wide just above the juncture. The lower part of the bay runs roughly northeast, while the upper part (above the branch shown as Ked Bay) dog-legs north and is about 2 km wide. Depth soundings (USCGS 1928) show at the entrance and a maximum depth of . A more recent chart (USCS 2000) shows depths of at the entrance.
