The new study, led by evolutionary biologist Daniel Rabosky from the University of Michigan, offers gruesome photographic evidence of arthropods—mostly spiders—feeding on a surprising array of backboned animals, a list that includes frogs, tadpoles, lizards, snakes, and in one unprecedented case, an unfortunate opossum.

The club was formed as Killoveragh GAA Club in 1889, which brought together the men of Kinvara, Dooras and Killina. The club later changed its name to Kinvara GAA Club. The 1970s will always be remembered for the Kinvara Senior hurling team reaching the County Final for the first time in 1979. They were defeated by a Castlegar team, backboned by the Connolly brothers.

Another great Annanough team emerged in the 1950s to take two more Laois Senior Football Championship titles. Names like the Nerneys, Dunnes, Terry O’Connell, Ronan Donlan, Tom Gorman, the Murphys and of course the Millers backboned both club and county team at this time. Annanough went back to intermediate ranks before a Martin Stapleton captained side captured the 1978 Laois Intermediate Football Championship title with a 2–9 to 1–4 win over Park.

Packy McGarty (born 1933) is a former Gaelic football player from Mohill, County Leitrim. He played for the Leitrim county team for 23 years between 1949 and 1971, playing his first senior game at the age of 16. He played in four Connacht Senior Football Championship finals with Leitrim, from 1957 to 1960. In 1958 they were narrowly beaten by a Galway team backboned by the players who would win three consecutive All-Ireland Senior Football Championship titles between 1963 and 1966.

The club was founded in the late 1880s in the very early years of the GAA. The Dublin Senior Football Championship was won on three occasions (1890, 1895 and 1901) and players from the club backboned the Dublin team that won the 1901 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship on 2 August 1903. The club first won the championship in 1890 beating Young Irelands 0-5 to 0-0 in the final, captained by Charlie Thompson. The captain for the second win in 1895 was Tommy Dunne.

After numerous attempts, the club finally won the Cork Intermediate Hurling Final in 1940, the team was backboned by Cork's 'four in a row' All-Ireland winning fullback Batt Thornhill. Other players from the club to wear the Red and White of Cork included dual star Billy Mackessey (who won All Ireland Hurling and football in 1903 and 1911), Peter 'Hawker' O'Grady (who won an All Ireland Hurling medal in the 1930s), and Tommy O'Sullivan (who scored the winning goal in the 1952 All Ireland Hurling final and collected another All Ireland medal in 1953). Other success at adult level came in 1996 when the Hurlers won the Cork County Junior B title. In the 1960s, the juvenile section of the club was formed and several North Cork titles were won in both codes.

Amniotes (from Greek ἀμνίον amnion, "membrane surrounding the fetus", earlier "bowl in which the blood of sacrificed animals was caught", from ἀμνός amnos, "lamb"Oxford English Dictionary) are a clade of tetrapod vertebrates comprising the reptiles, birds, and mammals. Amniotes lay their eggs on land or retain the fertilized egg within the mother, and are distinguished from the anamniotes (fishes and amphibians), which typically lay their eggs in water. Older sources, particularly prior to the 20th century, may refer to amniotes as "higher vertebrates" and anamniotes as "lower vertebrates", based on the discredited idea of the evolutionary great chain of being. Amniotes are tetrapods (descendants of four-limbed and backboned animals) that are characterised by having an egg equipped with an amnion, an adaptation to lay eggs on land rather than in water as the anamniotes (including frogs) typically do.
