On March 10, as expected the full video was released with a new mix called "Throwback Mix", featuring alternate demo vocals without autotune, sampling the beat of "Billie Jean" and removing the spoken word bridge.
Pre-Human Ideas is a compilation album released by Phil Elverum under the name Mount Eerie, on November 12 2013. The album consists of computerised versions of songs from his 2012 releases Clear Moon and Ocean Roar, plus 2 organs excerpts from the songs 'Pale lights' and 'the Place Lives' from Clear Moon and Ocean Roar respectively. The album is a diversion from Elverum's typical sound with his vocals layered in autotune and pitched higher in some instances to resemble a female voice.
Jay-Z and West worked with several guest recording artists, including Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, and Mr Hudson. "No Church in the Wild", the last song recorded for the album, was conceived by Jay-Z, West, and the song's producer 88-Keys throughout most of June. Producer and recording artist The-Dream sings a verse on the track using AutoTune. The song features R&B; singer Frank Ocean, who released his debut mixtape nostalgia,ULTRA in early 2011 to critical acclaim.
Development of harmonic enhancement was in its first stages in 1999 when Antares, developer of Autotune, noticed that the tube emulation feature in its microphone simulator was used more than its other features. In response, Antares created a specific plug-in, called Antares Tube, which implemented tube emulation. The algorithms for harmonic enhancement were just beginning and market interest was shown to be present. During its development period, harmonic exciters and harmonic enhancement plug-ins were looked down upon by most of the pro-audio industry.
Originally, it was supposed to be released in early 2013, but the album was held back and released on April 22, 2014. Bell has described this as his dream album, working with his childhood guitar hero, Brian Setzer, and having Setzer executive produce and also play on the album. The album is notable as having been recorded live, with no autotune, no computer enhancements and no use of a click track. "Bitchcraft", the lead single of the album, was released on January 28, 2014.
"All Time Low" received its second four out of five star rating after a review by Fraser McAlpine from the BBC. McAlpine reviewed the track mentioning: "Now, for a transparent piece of silly old pop music, this has class cooties. The telltale signs are there in the string riff, and the mature, subtle way they approach the singing, and the restraint with which they have applied the autotune." He went on to say that the song was good despite sampling a melody from Coldplay's "The Scientist" (2002).
Produced by Zedd, "Heaven" was compared to the work of Lady Gaga. The high- energy track "Poison" is another club number that focuses on the theme of love, whereas the following song "La La La" is inspired by dancehall and trance music. The latter track was described by St. Michel as one of her more "confiden[t]-ridden" examples on the album. "Supernatural Love"—another high- energy recording—includes heavy usage of vocoder and autotune techniques, and also borrows sonic influences of K-pop.
Sivan described "Take Yourself Home", saying, "I loved the idea of there being this really gentle, beautiful acoustic guitar and this like gentle, beautiful melody." The "catchy" song took on a darker atmosphere than originally intended, featuring a "hauting melody" and an electronic dance coda. Paper called it "perhaps the first great song to come out of our collective apocalyptic state of mind during the COVID-19 outbreak". "Easy" contains "'80s pop synths", evoking "an earlier version of Troye with an upgraded style" and "stylized" autotune.
Maiellaro provides the voice of Err the Mooninite, the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past From the Future, and other various roles on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, as well as various characters for the other Adult Swim shows he's involved with. When voice acting on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, he is sometimes credited as "The Amazing Voice of Matt Maiellaro". Maiellaro also provided the voice for Mouse Fitzgerald, the main protagonist in his series 12 oz. Mouse. Most of the time, his voice is modified through Autotune.
Kumi announced that she would release a new extended play, marketed as a single, entitled 3 Splash, which would consist of three recordings: "Lick Me", "Ecstasy" and "Hashire!" with three additional interludes. 3 Splash opens with the first interlude, "09:00AM", which is an instrumental piece with "groovy" DJ spins and scratches. "Lick Me", the first tracks to include vocals, is an uptempo "cute summer number" with suggestive lyrics. "Ecstasy" is an electronic song with Kumi's "cool husky" vocals being heavily processed with autotune and vocoder effects.
Viper is prolific, having released 347 albums in the year 2014 alone. His low-budget, DIY aesthetic is present not only in his music but also its accompanying videos and album art, which frequently consist of simple self- portraits, clip art and his name and the album title superimposed in plain text. Musically, he is recognized for his deep voice, occasional use of autotune, and slowed-down, low-fidelity and glitchy and ethereal production typical of cloud rap or the chopped and screwed subgenre native to Viper's Houston scene.
In 2017 as part of the 25th year of Star Magic together with Julia Barretto, Liza Soberano, Kathryn Bernardo, Janella Salvador, Maris Racal, Sofia Andres, Sue Ramirez, Alexa Ilacad, Ylona Garcia, Andrea Brillantes and Kira Balinger, they were featured as the cover girls of the June 2017 issue of Metro Magazine as the "twelve hottest" young stars of Star Magic. She was cast on the primetime television series The Good Son playing the role of Hazel. In 2018, her song "Sasamahan Kita" was released which is gadget-oriented incorporated with autotune.
The album was recorded and mixed exclusively with Steinberg Cubase digital audio workstations on Microsoft windows operating systems with Waves SSL and Abbey Road TG12413 plugins. It was revealed that neither Brahm nor Marc know how to operate Autotune, so it was not used. The songs were often performed to a click track, but there was no "snapping the drums to a grid", which is a popular computerized technique to ensure that drums are in perfect time while simultaneously sucking the life out of an otherwise real performance.
Soundtrap is a freemium online cross-platform digital audio workstation for browsers that allows users to create music or podcasts. The DAW is operated by Soundtrap AB, which was bought by Spotify in November 2017. Soundtrap is offered in English, Spanish, French, German, and Swedish, with the latter four being added in 2017. The DAW includes inputs for external instruments, a instrument player, a way to input and export MIDI files, collaboration features, Patterns BeatMaker (introduced in 2017) and a built-in autotune provided by Antares Audio Technologies.
Reviewing the reissue, Kris Needs of Record Collector wrote that the "cut-and- paste beats and sample-based rough house" would become "a major influence through to the next decade." He concluded: "In today’s laptop-and- autotune quagmire, it’s time to hear again from a real master at work." In the 2000 third edition of the All Time Top 1000 Albums, All in the Mind ranked at number 31 on a list of the all-time top 50 dance albums. All Time Top 1000 Albums, 3rd Edition, Virgin Books, 2000, ed.
The song has a futuristic beat and creates different scenarios about men being misled and blown off by women. The title and style of the song refers to the chopped and screwed genre of music created in Texas. It also features the autotune feature to produce its static and powerful beat T-Pain performed the song on Saturday Night Live on November 22, 2008 with Ludacris, along with "One More Drink". At the 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards, T-Pain and Ludacris performed the song along with Lil Wayne.
Both tracks feature autotune and vocoder pro-tools, a first for Hamasaki. The album's sixth track, "Green", shows a departure from the album's earlier electronic style; it focuses more on older traditional Japanese sound, alongside instrumentation of electric guitars and drums. The album's third interlude, "Load of the Shugyo", was described as an "atmospheric" number with heavy rock instruments in its composition. Rock music is then influenced on the following tracks "Identity"—a song that discusses about self- confidence—the single "Rule", and the tune "Love 'n' Hate", which talks about the effects of lust.
Musically, "Universe" is an "aggressive sounding" dance tune that was noted as an "edgier" departure from their work with E-Girls, Happiness and Flower. According to a staff member at Selective Hearing, he/she recognized the sound as a "crossover" between the work of E-Girls and Japanese singer Namie Amuro. An editor at Asian Junkie, however, noted its appeal as a "safe EDM track". Throughout the track, both Shuuka and Karen's vocals are processed with vocoder and autotune, and performed it with "high-pitched" singing and an additional rap section before the first chorus.
Musically, "Free Free" is the creation of a newly founded genre by Nakata titled Eropop, which he generated by combining 1980s pop, house and disco music; furthermore, the single also incorporates influences of contemporary EDM. The lyrical content is based on the theme of freedom and having fun. With that said, erotica is another factor that inspired the tracks lyrics and Suzuki's image for the track. Backed by synthesizers and keyboards, it is Suzuki's first English language recording and her vocals are processed through pro-tools such as autotune and vocoder.
It instantly became the biggest clubbing megahit of all time. Lyrics "Sedmi sprat i mrak u stanu, znam da imaš to u planu, da mi pokažeš koliko si jak...baš se vidi da si lak" (Floor seven, it's dark in your apartment, I know what you have on your mind, you want to show me how strong you are....you are so easy...) are accepted as a sort of a hymn to the clubbing, outgoing persons. Third single was "Slaki", an uptempo Latino-Greek style summer hit. It was the most famous for extensive use of autotune and vocoder effect.
The single was released a week after the album's first single, "Aishi Aisarete Ikiru no Sa" (a Kenji Ozawa original), on October 20, 2010 on online retailer iTunes. A teaser PV for the single was released on November 3, 2010 via D-Topia's official YouTube account, along with the song's sample with the other tracks on the same day. The lyrics for the song was written by Mitsuki Aira herself while the composition was written by Alex Funk It. The lyrics are expressed using autotune, in which voice shifting devices became a standard in almost all of Aira's songs.
The song has received positive reviews from several publications. Many of them deemed "Faith" an EDM song. Effectively, Cillea Houghton of American country radio KEAN-FM called the single "an EDM production" and "a feel-good jam made for the club with its infectious techno-style beat" and with "Parton's voice [which] still shines even with autotune on lyrics that make her a loyal and encouraging companion as she sings [her chorus]". Annie Reuter of Billboard called the song a "dance-ready track" with the presence of "thumping beats and hand-clapped rhythms [which] replace the piano for a sing-along earworm".
Drum replacing is often mentioned, along with autotune, harmonizers, and advanced compressors, as being symptomatic of the "artificial nature" of modern western music by certain critics. Some critics suggest that the practice defeats the purpose of having a live drummer as opposed to a drum machine, since the end result is effectively exactly the same as what a drum machine would produce if the drum machine had a custom sample recorded for it by the engineer. Others laud it as one of the subtleties of studio technique, used by engineers to give their craft more complexity in an increasingly automated world.
"Can't Stop the Disco" was recorded mid 2008 by Nakata at Avex Studio in Tokyo, Japan, and was co-distributed by Nakata's label Contemode, owned by Avex and Yamaha in Japan. "Can't Stop the Disco" was described as a dance-pop song with numerous musical elements, including techno and club music. Throughout the entire song, Suzuki's vocals are processed with autotune and vocoder post-production work. Tetsuo Hiraga from Billboard's Hot Express magazine compared the "club" sounds and production to Suzuki's previous single "Free Free", feeling that both songs displayed "full energy" and "dynamism" through Suzuki.
This caused some problems for producers Take a Daytrip as the popularity of these snippets meant that much of the work had to be "locked in" so the resulting songs would match the previews. Lil Nas X announced the 7 EP on May 18, 2019, on all social media platforms along with its June 2019 release date. This teaser included the snippet of a song described by Spins Rob Arcand as "singing a trap-pop hook through a slurred AutoTune drawl". Lil Nas X stated that the EP would include a collaboration with "one of [his] favorite artists ever".
"California Boy" is a rock song and takes influences from various subgenres, including garage rock, surf-pop, college rock and soft rock. The song does not utilize rhyming and beats unlike Lil B's previous works in hip hop genre, opting for a guitar-based sound reminiscent of the style of indie rock acts such as Real Estate and Best Coast. The song also incorporates acoustic elements. On the song, Lil B stated that he didn't use Autotune effect on his vocals, in reference to its extensive use on rapper Lil Wayne's rock music album, Rebirth (2010).
Dogma 19 seeks to purify the creative process of the vocalist by forbidding the use of expensive, artificial, and otherwise spectacular special effects, pitch correction, modifications and other technical gimmicks (autotune, quantizers, and so on). It is a challenge, a test, a ritualization of the vocalist's approach designed to raise talent and ingenuity to the forefront of the audience's concerns. Listeners are brought closer to the artist, their attention no longer distracted by overproduction. Dogma 19 records are characterized by a conformation to the following rules: # All writing and recording must be done alone, in isolation.
The track was recorded with "Super Music Maker" between June–July 2007 at Nakata's home studio and Avex Studios in Tokyo, Japan, and was co-distributed by Nakata's record label Contemode, which was owned by Avex and Yamaha. Suzuki's vocals were processed with pro-tools such as autotune and vocoder, all programmed and managed to Nakata. The lyrical content of the recording is based on the theme of freedom and having fun. With that said, erotica is another factor that inspired the tracks lyrics and Suzuki's image for the track; she commented "the theme [of the track] is to sound erotic,".
It is his first album in which autotune is used, a controversial step among his fans. The album brings us the (fictitious) story of Chris Carlino, a man who has ruined his life, through a series of interludes. As usual for KJ-52, the album includes both songs with a strong Christian message and songs that are meant only to entertain. KJ-52 also rapped in the Newsboys cover of "Jesus Freak". KJ-52 also rapped in the tobyMac remix of the song "One World" on the album Hip-Hope which also includes the KJ-52 remixed song "What You Want".
"Lost My Mind" is a sparse mellow dance ballad, with heavy Autotune that discusses the end of a relationship, whilst Allen questions her own sanity after a painful breakup. "Higher" contains elements of dancehall, soft guitar notes and bass switches, whilst lyrically the song is a melancholy relationship drama that starts with an intro performed by grime MC Meridian Dan. "Family Man" is a piano ballad that drew comparisons to the work of The Carpenters. "Apples" features Allen singing over a guitar in a falsetto vocal, whilst lyrically it deals with the breakdown of Allen's marriage, self blame and drawing a connection between her marital failures and her parents.
He set a microphone up in a bedroom and he would sit in another room with his computer. We also didn’t have to spend as much time doing takes because so many producers want to use autotune.” With recording postponed several times due to intense touring and further songwriters and producers such as Dem Jointz, Modern Future, Kid Monroe, Raphael Saadiq, and Taura Stinson joining the project, the record started to morph into a more traditional contemporary R&B; and soul album. While Jointz and Stinson would contribute two tracks each, Saadiq collaborated with the band on his song "I'm Good" during recording at the Blakeslee Studios in North Hollywood.
" Sarah Rodman of The Boston Globe gave a mixed review to the album, when she alluded that "Much of it is perfectly acceptable. All of it is executed competently", yet Rodman called the lone highlight the "dusty story song" of "Granddaddy's Gun". In addition, Rodman noted that the album "doesn't offer enough personal touches to distinguish it from a lot of other tales coming out of Nashville." At Entertainment Weekly, Melissa Maerz signaled that Shelton is "just not a gravitas kind of guy, and the outdated production only makes it harder to take his songs seriously, especially with the talk-box-style guitar effects and the ill-advised use of AutoTune.
In that regard, Good Karma is a success—it's a mature Roxette album that doesn't disavow their past—but it's hard not to miss the bubblegum Euro style of Look Sharp!" Cryptic Rock rated the album four stars out of five, saying the record saw Roxette "soaring again", describing it as the "perfect album to celebrate Roxette's thirtieth anniversary in the music industry." The record received some mixed reviews as well. Dagens Nyheter rated the album 2 out of 5, saying Gessle and the producers sought to appeal too much to "today's young, electronic chart pop" listeners, "with digital loops, EDM beats, autotune voice and rave synths.
While her vocals on Animal were heavily processed with auto-tune, often to produce rapid stuttering or over-pitch corrected vocal effects, leading to questions on vocal talent, she expressed confidence in her abilities, showing some of her vocal talent in the ballads "Animal" and "Hungover" on the album. Kesha's second studio album Warrior used considerably less autotune, although it still showed in a number of songs. The album's piano and guitar-driven ballads such as "Love Into The Light", "Wonderland" and "Past Lives" display Kesha's vocal ability. Kesha also uses a trademark talky "white-girl" rapping style with exaggerated discordant phrasing and enunciation.
6 Force is the first mini album (third overall) of electronica singer-lyricist Aira Mitsuki. It was released on June 2, 2010 in Japan by D-topia Entertainment, and is her last release under the label. It reached #11 on the Oricon Daily charts and #34 on the Oricon Weekly charts, where it charted for two weeks, selling 3,391 copies. The mini-album marks Aira's experimentation with rock music, such that half (Fake, Level5 and Turkey) of the mini-album didn't much involve the characteristic use of autotune and vocoders and are in a new-wave rock style, showing Aira's true voice for the first time.
" Hip Hop World Magazine granted the album 4 stars out of 5, acknowledging Savage for "producing an album that accommodates her songwriting skill and pop ambitions." In a less enthusiastic review, Ogaga Sakpaide of TooXclusive gave the album 2.5 stars out of 5, adding, "Despite the involvement of different production "heavyweights" on the album, the total body of work lacks an actual identity." Sakpaide also stated that the record is "lacking the organic sound an album should possess." Wilfred Okiche of YNaija extensively said, "At 21 songs, there are just too many fillers, too much autotune, too much Don Jazzy and an over dependence on the gloss.
Ska group Suburban Legends regularly perform the song at their live shows, later releasing a studio version on 7" vinyl as part of Asbestos Records' Ska is Dead 7" Club. Los Angeles-based rock band Vayden released a rock remix, and Spanish language versions "Bed Intruder (Discoteca En Español)" and "Bed Intruder (Rock En Español)" under the alias Hide Your Kids in 2011. On August 1, 2020, the Gregory Brothers uploaded a remaster with improved autotune for the original's 10-year birthday, with a message from Antoine Dodson, encouraging viewers to vote in the election and wear masks to curtail the Covid-19 pandemic.
Later, the Kan Israel Broadcasting Corporation sued Live Nation over the performance, claiming the singer's representatives had violated the terms of their agreement and "reneged on financial promises". CNN's Holly Thomas expressed that Madonna "didn't do or say much besides create an obtuse spectacle against the backdrop of a frankly terrible song" and "offered her audience no meaningful education of the conflict she alluded to". In addition to the controversy, the singer was criticized for her vocal performance; Netherlands announcer Emma Wortelboer quipped she was “thankful for Madonna’s autotune” during the results segment of the competition. One day later, a video of the performance was uploaded to the singer's official YouTube account, this time her vocals were edited.
Initially, the tracks were to be appear on Tha Carter IV, but Wayne decided to put the old tracks on the album so new music could be recorded for Tha Carter IV. \- He uses no autotune on the album: according to Birdman, it's just "raw rap". The production to bonus track "YM Salute" was originally recorded by Young Jeezy and Ester Dean as potential material for Young Jeezy's forthcoming album TM 103. The song "I Don't Like The Look Of It" was originally released on Gudda Gudda's 2010 mixtape "Back 2 Guddaville" with a different beat under the title "Willy Wonka". The instrumental was changed when it was released on this album due to sample clearance issues.
"One" was recorded in early 2008 by Nakata at Avex Studio in Tokyo, Japan, and was co-distributed by Nakata's label Contemode, owned by Avex and Yamaha in Japan. The song was described as a dance-pop song with numerous musical elements, including club music and electropop. Throughout the entire track, Suzuki's vocals are processed with autotune and vocoder post-production work; the delivery is from the intro chorus and end of the song. Tetsuo Hiraga from Billboard's magazine Hot Express compared the "club" sounds and production to Japanese trio Perfume, a project that Nakata has contributed and produced since 2008; Hiraga felt Suzuki's song and Perfume's work emphasized a similar "club" and "energy" sound and feeling.
Seth Bogart was produced and co-written by Cole MGN, and also features vocal performances from Chela, Kathleen Hanna, Tavi Gevinson, Jeremiah Nadya, and Clementine Creevy. Seth Bogart was promoted with an art show, videos and a tour that contained props inspired by Pee-wee's Playhouse, as well as numerous pre-album song premieres. Upon its February 2016 Burger Records release, the album was praised by some reviewers for its concept of fakeness of apparent beauty in celebrity and fashion culture, as symbolized in its use of cheap keyboard sounds and vocal effects such as autotune. There were also critics that complimented its combination of elements of punk and pop music and liked it as being a fun record.
In July 2007, Snoop Dogg made history by becoming the first artist to release a track as a ringtone before its release as a single, "It's the D.O.G." On July 7, 2007, Snoop Dogg performed at the Live Earth concert, Hamburg. Snoop Dogg has ventured into singing for Bollywood with his first ever rap for an Indian movie, Singh Is Kinng; the song title is also "Singh is Kinng". He appears in the movie as himself. The album featuring the song was released on June 8, 2008 on Junglee Music Records. He released his ninth studio album, Ego Trippin' (selling 400,000 copies in the U.S.), along with the first single, "Sexual Eruption". The single peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 100, featuring Snoop using autotune.
The > same four chords around and around, the different spiralling melodies, the > chuntery synth...well all I can say is that some songs are built for > repetition and some are not. One more play of this and I am going POSTAL. > Interesting how they really layer on that autotune at the crucial moment, > the bit where he claims to want to give you, the most important person in > his life and therefore his most precious love, his name. I wonder if that's > so the song can't be considered to be legally binding, should McLean's > actual girlfriend sue him for non-delivery of ring and promise in the event > of his becoming famous with a song in which he promises to marry her.
From their EP Hot Issue (2007), the "shibuya-kei-influenced" "Fool" (Korean: 바보; Revised Romanization: Babo) contained a "heavy dance beat paired with a smooth disco coating." "Day by Day" from Stand Up (2008) was admired for "weaving in and out of tempos seamlessly and forcing a sense of anxiety on the listener through the beating undercurrent" and hailed as an "experiential masterpiece". They also collaborated with the Korean rock-band No Brain for the rock song "Oh My Friend". Alive (2012) was noted for showcasing the group's voice instead of their usual autotune, being described as having "a mature kind of intensity", with "Blue" being distinguished for including "more interesting electronic samples and production techniques" and "Bad Boy" described as having a "nostalgic" sentiment, being called a "perfect pop song" that "transcends language".
Complications is the eighth and final studio album by Spanish rock band Dover, produced by Jesús Antúnez and published by Sony Music Spain on 9 February 2015. After a record break of five years since I Ka Kené, published in 2010, the Madrid band released a new album that leaves aside the electronic sound of their previous two albums to return to their rock roots. As pointed out by their label, Sony Music, it is a total of ten songs "inspired by their favorite bands ever, but with tons of charisma." The album features heavy use of autotune and religious references in songs like "Sisters Of Mercy" which may be a callback to the album Devil Came To Me but with a different perspective than what was on that album.
In a further review, Wass called it a "dancehall-lite collaboration [...] no less subtle in its messaging or execution", but criticized the singer's heavy use of autotune. Varietys Jeremy Helligar criticized its lyrics for being "cliché" and said that they "go low when [Madonna] should be aiming higher". Kitty Empire of The Observer criticized the lack of chemistry between Madonna and Quavo, an opinion that was shared by New Yorks Craig Jenkins and the New York Posts Chuck Arnold. On a more negative review, Rich Juzwiak from Pitchfork said that "[Madonna] warbles through Auto-Tune and adopts a contemporary hip-hop posture that ends up just sounding like a flat sort of honking out of her nose. It’s not so much that she’s riffing on hip-hop that’s the problem [...] it’s that she’s being smarmy as she does it".
"Welcome 2 the Party (Ode 2 the Old School)" refers to Orson Welles' Paul Masson adverts with the lyric "I will serve no rhymes before their time". "Where U At Rock?" references philosopher Ayn Rand. "Only God Knows Why" is a country ballad, noted for its prominent use of autotune. The lyrics of "Black Chick, White Guy" deal with Kid Rock's ten-year off-and-on relationship with a classmate named Kelley South Russell, with whom he fathered one child and raised another child from a previous relationship, but broke up with her after finding out that a third child he was raising wasn't his, after which he gained custody of his son, Robert James Ritchie Jr.; these events became the inspiration for this song, which discusses them directly, although Russell denies some of the allegations made against her in the lyrics.
PopMatters listed the track as the 10th best single of the year, with the magazine's Josh Timmermann admitting it "isn't quite a pop-cultural event" like other songs by rappers while calling the track "a weirder, moodier, more personal creation" and citing it as proof "that Kanye the AutoTune Soul Man is yet another force to reckon with, in addition to Kanye the Rapper and Kanye the Super-Producer." "Love Lockdown" was voted 9th on The Village Voices Pazz & Jop poll for 2008 with 38 mentions; 37 of them were for the single version of it. The track's best achievement was being named by Time as the best song of the year. For the 2014 issue of XXL that was in celebration of 40 years of hip hop, the magazine selected the track as one of the five best singles of 2008.
None of these collaborations materialized although Sparks did confirm in an interview that she had made a pact to record a duet with Lewis for her future album as she believes the duo could be the next "Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey". The reason cited for no duets on this album was a lack of time and tight deadlines. As mentioned previously there are no vocal guests on the album although Tedder can be heard single backing vocals and ad-libs on the album's title song "Battlefield". Originally the album was intended to feature one guest in the form of T-Pain who had produced and appeared on the song "Watch You Go" with his signature vocoder (singing autotune), but for unspecified reasons this version of the song was omitted and replaced with a solo version featuring just Spark's vocals.
Meanwhile, title track "Remember" is a 'cheery synth-pop tune that reminisces about a love during the summertime,' and 'features a quick rhythm and vintage sound to beat the summer heat,'. Their 2016 title track, "Only One" is described as mature, blending in mid tempo R&B; and dance-pop with subtle hip-hop beats while song like "Boom Pow Love" shows a far more urban-pop, energetic vibe with pulsing beats compared to their previous hits. With the release of 2018's "I'm So Sick", Apink showed a shift in their style of music, moving towards a more mature and sophisticated sound. The track, with its use of autotune, synth and house beats, and its lyrical content of having 'not even one' bit of feeling left for an ex, makes "I'm So Sick" a much bolder track than what Apink is known to put out.
Hot Express writer Yuki Sugioka labelled it a "hard dancefloor-oriented" track. A Channel-Ai staff member called it one of Perfume's "most interesting" tracks from their discography. The editor continued saying, "The vocals sound more natural because the vocoder isn’t adjusted to the levels that are similar to the previous works, the instrumental flows smoothly using mid-high tones that provide the 'dreamy' feel..." The group's vocals are processed with autotune and vocoder post-production tools, which is notable throughout the group's earlier work. Martin, who also wrote about the song in The Japan Times, said that the girls vocals, "are obliterated beneath a blizzard of vocoder and an auto-tuning permafrost, all feeding into the music’s air of glacial cool..." With the lyrics discussing the girls fight to make their dreams come true, critics have analysed the lyrical content in their reviews.
On May 7, 2018, she appeared at the Met Gala and performed the song on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's grand staircase. Dressed in a cloak, she was surrounded by background singers standing as monks and church bells tolling. In May 2019, Madonna performed "Like a Prayer" and "Future", a collaboration with rapper Quavo from her fourteenth studio album Madame X, in Tel Aviv, Israel, during the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The singer stood atop a high, staircase stage surrounded by hooded dancers in monk-like outfits, and wore an outfit consisting of silver truss with dangling suspenders, thigh boots, a metallic corset, black cape and a black bejeweled eyepatch. The performance received mixed reviews, with much criticism going to the singer's voice; the Netherlands announcer Emma Wortelboer quipped she was “thankful for Madonna’s autotune” during the results segment of the competition.
From its release until November 12, 2013, the IntelliStar 2 used a graphics package that differed from the original IntelliStar (before both systems implemented a uniform graphics package, the IntelliStar used graphics based on TWC's 2005 package while the IntelliStar 2 used graphics based on the channel's 2008 graphics). Vocal Local narration is done by TWC meteorologist/storm tracker Jim Cantore, instead of Allen Jackson, who provided the narration track for the first generation IntelliStar and WeatherStar XL. The system was gradually rolled out to major U.S. cable providers strictly for use on The Weather Channel's HD simulcast feed, and originally did not replace existing operational STAR units used on The Weather Channel's standard definition feed or Weatherscan; as a result, TWC became one of the few channels which by necessity does not have an "autotune to HD" version for providers that utilize set-top boxes allowing HD tuning to standard definition channel positions.
