A relief detachment of troops sent by Governor Córcoles from St. Augustine was diverted to fend off an attack by raiders on the St. Johns River crossing at Salamototo. . Córcoles built a defensive line of palisades to protect St. Augustine and bolster the fort's defenses, which protected the inhabitants of the presidio including settlers, his relatives and Christianized Indians. The Treaty of Utrecht of 1713 ended the war with Great Britain, but Córcoles had other troubles. He had faced the second-in-command of the Florida presidio (and later governor) Juan de Ayala y Escobar, because he captured English ships in South Carolina and was selling their cargoes of foodstuffs at a high price to a hungry population.

Slim Shady EP is the debut extended play by American rapper Eminem released on December 16, 1997, through the Detroit-based record label Web Entertainment. Unlike Infinite, Slim Shady EP helped Eminem gain the interest of CEO Jimmy Iovine (co-founder of Interscope Records) and West Coast hip-hop producer Dr. Dre, who subsequently signed Eminem to his Aftermath Entertainment record label, and served as executive producer on his major-label debut album The Slim Shady LP (1999). Eminem first introduced his "Slim Shady" persona on this EP. Since the EP was released before he was signed to Interscope and Aftermath, it is now placed at a high price. His lyrics are a marked departure from those found on Infinite, featuring constant references to drug use, sexual acts, mental instability, and over-the-top violence.

The album, a double album consisting of 31 tracks, will not be given a conventional commercial release and only one copy has been produced; this copy will be toured in museums, art galleries and music festivals before being sold at a high price to a single individual. In August 2014, a reporter from Forbes traveled to Marrakech to meet Cilvaringz and hear a 51-second snippet of a song from the album, which featured Cher.

After some political maneuvering within football circles, Glenorchy were admitted to the Southern Football League, but at a high price, with the club being forced, as a condition of entry to the League, to give up its black and white playing strip, and its Magpies emblem as it clashed with former Southern Amateur club Claremont Magpies, who were already a member of the SFL. Herbert Colanggo, one of the Bilibid 19 or the high profile drug lord inmates that were found to be living in luxury kubols in 2014, exposed the PR payola being paid to several government officials in exchange for special treatment and for being able to bring in contraband in the prison. He testified that he had remitted per month to then Secretary De Lima since October 2013 and an additional whenever he held concerts in the Bilibid. He said De Lima's security aide Jonel Sanchez regularly collected the bribe money in his kubol which he said came from his earnings from his lending business, selling beer in prison, bringing in women prostitutes and selling them to inmates at a high price, and the concerts and other events he organized in Bilibid with his manager Renante Diaz. Colanggo then presented to the committee the mobile number that was used by Sanchez to call De Lima in January 2014 when he was able to speak to the then justice secretary to confirm if she was receiving the payments.
