This all-star tribute to Aretha Franklin at New York's Radio City Music Hall gave props to a woman who has been at the center of American music since arriving on the scene in the mid '60s. The company was highly influential in the way hi-fi was sold, and it managed to wrest market share from Linn and Naim, who had a stranglehold in the UK. Attorneys Bob Hilliard and Ben Crump at the Danny Ray Thomas Press Conference in Houston, Texas On March 22, 2018, Danny Ray Thomas was shot and killed by Harris County Deputy Cameron Brewer during an incident at a busy Houston intersection. Mr. Thomas, who had a history of mental illness and was clearly in distress, was unarmed and walking in the intersection with his pants around his ankles. The deputy shot him in the chest just moments after arriving on the scene. On April 12, 2018: Hilliard joined forces with Florida civil rights attorney, Benjamin Crump, to file a lawsuit on behalf of Mr. Thomas's family, holding Deputy Cameron Brewer and the county responsible for the wrongful death.

Late that evening, elements of the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina began arriving on the scene, while several Marine units from Camp Lejeune were put on standby status. With the intervention of federal forces, the Maryland National Guard was called into federal duty, resulting in a shift from state control (reporting to the Governor of Maryland) to federal control (reporting through the Army chain of command to the President). Watkiss was one of the co-founders of the vastly influential Jazz Warriors big band, and his vocals can be heard on their debut album, Out of Many People (1987), which won a video award in Japan.
