Felice Casson Felice Casson (born 5 August 1953 in Chioggia, Province of Venice) is an Italian magistrate and politician, who discovered the existence of Operation Gladio, a "stay-behind" NATO anti-communist army during the Cold War, while investigating on the Peteano bombing in 1972, for which two neo- fascists were convicted; the explosives used in the attack supposedly came from a NATO arms cache. 622 Gladio members, including two people who served as prime minister and president, were exposed in the course of the investigation.Gladio prosecutor Casson: Ergenekon-like organizations spread like cancer , Today's Zaman, 28 April 2008 Felice Casson is a Member of the Senate of the Italian Republic. He obtained a law degree from Padua University and entered the magistracy in 1980 as an investigating magistrate.

The allegation was initially denied by Sargsyan but after U.S. diplomats presented the Armenian side with substantial evidence and pressed the country to introduce stricter export controls, Sargsyan "reversed the mantra he has repeated for the last four months" and agreed, despite Armenia National Security Service Chairman Gorik Hakobyan's attempts to lay the blame on Bulgarians. U.S. troops continue to find military equipment from the Sargsyan deal at the hands of insurgents during their raids. Among mostly Iran-manufactured weapons were six Bulgarian RPG-22 anti- tank weapons, production lot and serial numbers of which indicated they were produced by the Bulgarian firm which sold the weapons to Armenia.

On 11 July 1978, John Boyle, a 16 year old civilian, was shot dead by SAS soldiers in a graveyard in the village. The previous day John had discovered an IRA arms cache under a fallen tombstone when he was visiting a family grave and reported the weapons to his father, his father then contacted the Royal Ulster Constabulary who rather than removing the weapons, passed the information to the British Army, who placed SAS operatives at the site. The next day, John returned to the graveyard (assumingly out of curiosity to see if the weapons were still there). He was then shot dead by the British soldiers, who alleged he picked up a rifle and aimed it towards them, however a leaked RUC document confirmed 16 year old John was shot in the back and his fingerprints were not on any of the recovered weapons.

Scappaticci appears to give intimate details of the modus operandi of the IRA's Northern Command, indicated some of his previous involvement in the organisation and alleges, amongst other things, that Martin McGuinness was involved in the death of Frank Hegarty – an IRA volunteer who had been killed as an informer by the IRA in 1986. It has since been alleged that Scappaticci knew the intimate details of Hegarty's killing because, as part of his duties in the ISU, he had reportedly been involved in the interrogation and execution of Hegarty regarding a large Libyan arms cache, which the Gardaí found. Operation WASHTUB was a covert operation organized by the United States Central Intelligence Agency to plant a phony Soviet arms cache in Nicaragua. It was a part of the CIA's effort to portray the administration of Guatemalan President Jacobo Árbenz as having ties to the Soviet Union, prior to the CIA sponsored 1954 Guatemalan coup d'état which overthrew Árbenz later the same year. On 19 February, 1954, the CIA, working through the Guardia Nacional de Nicaragua, planted a cache of Soviet-made arms on the Nicaraguan coast near the fishing village of Masachapa to be "discovered" weeks later by Rafael Lola, a lieutenant in the Nicaraguan army, and fishermen in the pay of Nicaraguan president Anastasio Somoza García. The CIA also wished to dispose of the weapons, which were to have been used by Carlos Castillo Armas, and were therefore incriminating to the CIA.

At a January 14, 2009 meeting with the then Ambassador of the United States, Mahley with Sargsyan and NSS Chairman Gorik Hakobyan, the Government of Armenia were presented with evidence of weapons purchased by Armenia, shipped to Iran and recovered from Iran-backed Iraqi insurgent groups which fought against United States troops in Iraq. Hakobyan had tried to lay the blame on Bulgaria for diverting the responsibility from Armenia's involvement but Ambassador Mahley presented facts showing the arms transfer and serial numbers of weapons were used to kill an American soldier in an armed attack on United States troops on January 31, 2008. The United States military personnel continued to recover arms from the Sargsyan deal at the hands of Iraqi insurgents. One instance was the recovery of an arms cache in Baghdad on February 15, 2008, which belonged to the Hizballah Brigades, an Iranian-backed Iraqi militant group.

LNA spokesman, Brigadier General Al- Mismari, accused former President of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir, of sending two planes loaded with 28 fighters, as well as a large amount of weapons and ammunition, from Khartoum to GNA-held Mitiga International Airport on 28 March. Fathi Bashagha, Interior Minister of the Presidential Council, stated on 12 April that the UAE sent military equipment to the LNA at Benina International Airport in Benghazi.

At 13:10 a unit of the 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division was led to a bunker complex and arms cache northeast of Quần Lợi by a Chieu hoi, the cache contained 30 individual weapons, 11 antitank mines and 100 RPG rounds. At 14:10 helicopter gunships from the 1st Cavalry Division engaged five PAVN/VC south of Phước Vĩnh killing four. At 15:00 a unit of the 199th LIB operating 6 miles southeast of Xuân Lộc found a weapons cache containing 22 individual and one crew-served weapons. At 15:20 a unit of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division received 25 rounds of 82mm mortar fire and returned fire supported by artillery, helicopter gunships and airstrikes.
