The club opted not to attend their matches against Dolphins United and Manila All-Japan in the 4th season of UFL since they requested a home and away game. And on 1 March 2013, the UFL management has officially ruled out the club from participating after it apparently withdrawn when the request for home games was turned down by the league.
Miller and Peja Stojaković were both selected for the 2004 NBA All-Star Game. In the first round of the playoffs, the Kings got the last laugh as they defeated their archrivals the Dallas Mavericks in five games, before falling to Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round as Webber missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer in Game 7. This ended the Kings' attempt at a championship as their core would be dismantled the following season, which included Vlade Divac re-signing as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers, Peeler signing with the Washington Wizards, and Gerald Wallace leaving in the 2004 NBA Expansion Draft.

Dean Ashton limped off with a hamstring injury, making him a doubt for the final. West Ham won their final game of the season 2–1 over archrivals Tottenham, cementing ninth place in the Premier League. Tottenham's loss to West Ham on the final day would result in Tottenham being overtaken in the league by Arsenal and therefore missing out on a Champions League place. The match was marred by controversy, as many of the Spurs players were ill on the evening before the match; this was initially believed to be food poisoning, but was later found to be a virus that had spread.
On August 11, 1951, Brooklyn led the National League by an enormous 13½ games over their archrivals, the Giants. At the end of the season the Dodgers and the Giants were tied for first place, forcing a three- game playoff for the pennant. The Giants took Game 1 by a score of 3–1 before being shut out by the Dodgers' Clem Labine in Game 2, 10–0.
Coulthard first started playing club-level football in 1874 for Carlton Imperial, a junior side then referred to as the "training establishment" of the senior Carlton Football Club. He proved to be a match-winner for the Imperials with his goal-kicking, and in 1876, was recruited by Carlton, then a powerhouse of Victorian football. Starting off as one of Carlton's followers, he was described by The Footballer as a "rising and most promising player". Carlton topped the ladder that year and looked to win its fourth premiership in a row, but in the decider against archrivals Melbourne, a controversial umpiring call secured the trophy for the latter club.
Notwithstanding the success with firearms at Jām, Tahmāsp still lacked the confidence to engage their archrivals the Ottomans, choosing instead to cede territory, often using scorched earth tactics in the process.Mikheil Svanidze, "The Amasya Peace Treaty between the Ottoman Empire and Iran (June 1, 1555) and Georgia," Bulletin of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Vol. 3, pp. 191–97 (2009) ("Svanidze"), p. 191. The goal of the Ottomans in the 1534 and 1548–1549 campaigns, during the 1532–1555 Ottoman–Safavid War, was to install Tahmāsp's brothers (Sam Mirza and Alqas Mirza, respectively) as shah in order to make Iran a vassal state.
Towards the end of the 2000s, Gor started bouncing back to fame steadily bringing Kenyan football fans back to the pitch and regularly filling sold-out stadiums. The club returned to silverware in 2008 when it won the KFF Cup after a thirteen-year drought of any major trophies. Gor proceeded to win the Kenya DSTV Super Cup against the year's defending champs, Mathare United before the beginning of the 2009 KPL season. On 26 October 2011 Gor Mahia in typically dominant fashion trounced Sofapaka to win the 2011 edition of the FKL Cup having dispatched their archrivals AFC Leopards 6 days earlier in a 20 October Heroes Day thriller.
The two archrivals played the 2017 Stadium Series game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, and then played the 2019 Stadium Series game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Köln in the Bundesliga in 2012 The club went through startling reversals of fortune in the next two seasons. In the 2002 off-season, the team lost influential midfield stars Michael Ballack and Zé Roberto to archrivals Bayern Munich. The team then flirted with relegation through most of the 2002–03 season, leading to the firing of Klaus Toppmöller, who had coached the team during its most successful year, and he was replaced by the inexperienced Thomas Hörster. Charismatic coach Klaus Augenthaler took up the reins in the last two games of the season and helped avoid disaster with a win over his previous club, 1.

In 2002, Kerry faced more controversy. The team were forced to play a replay of their Munster semi-final against Cork only a few of days after the funeral of the brother of team manager Páidí Ó Sé and father of Tomás, Darragh and Marc Ó Sé. Cork took full advantage and Kerry embarked on a qualifier campaign which saw them account for Wicklow, Fermanagh and Kildare before they trounced reigning champions Galway in the All-Ireland quarter-final before stuffing archrivals Cork in a unique all-Munster All-Ireland semi-final. The subsequent All-Ireland decider pitted Kerry against Armagh in one of the great finals of recent years.

All ten AFL teams made up the bulk of the new American Football Conference. To avoid having an inequitable number of teams in each conference, the leagues voted to move three NFL teams to the AFC. Motivated by the prospect of an intrastate rivalry with the Bengals as well as by personal animosity toward Paul Brown, Cleveland Browns owner Art Modell quickly offered to include his team in the AFC. He helped persuade the Pittsburgh Steelers (the Browns' archrivals) and Baltimore Colts (who shared the Baltimore-Washington market with the Washington Redskins) to follow suit, and each team received US$3 million to make the switch.
His second season proved to be just as successful as his first season, as the Uruguayan continued his good form under new coach Walter Zenga. Catania comfortably avoided relegation, and Martinez managed nearly 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring 8 goals in the process. During the 2009–10 season, Martinez was the in-form player for the Sicilian club, for much of the season, as he formed a very formidable strike force with Maxi López and Giuseppe Mascara. He was a major part of the team that managed to defeat Serie A giants Juventus F.C., A.C. Milan, Inter Milan, and archrivals Palermo during the season.
He was the team's co-MVP that season, along with teammate Stratos Perperoglou, and at the end of the season they both landed contracts with the Greek power Panathinaikos. FCK won only one match, but with four draws, FCK qualified for the quarter finals, where they met Hammarby IF. The game would be special for FCK captain Tobias Linderoth, as Hammarby's coach, Anders Linderoth, is his father. In the same matches, both teams were playing in Kappa shirts, and for the draw, the two captains, Tobias Linderoth (Swede, FCK) and Mikkel Jensen (Dane, Hammarby), were dressed in almost identical cardigans. The only difference was the team names.
Makos kicked off his third season in superb form, scoring his first ever goal for AEK Athens in the season opener in a 1–0 win against Ergotelis on 18 September 2011. On 8 May 2012, Makos scored his second goal for AEK against Panathinaikos in the Superleague Greece play off in the 2–0 home win over their archrivals.
An appendicitis ruled Joe Hartnett out of the game, resulting in Daly being switched to centre-forward. Liam Dowling scored a vital goal in the first half to give Cork the interval lead. Dublin's attack collapsed in the second half as Dowling scored a second goal. The 2–14 to 0–7 victory gave Daly his first All- Ireland medal. Daly added a league medal to his collection in 1953 as Cork defeated Tipperary by 2–10 to 2–7. In the subsequent provincial championship he won a second Munster medal as Cork once again downed their archrivals by 3–10 to 1–11.
His popularity with female fans saw him dubbed a "teen idol". In early 1983, promoters Jerry Jarrett and Jerry Lawler paired Morton with Robert Gibson as The Rock 'n' Roll Express in an attempt to replicate the popularity of The Fabulous Ones. They won the Mid-South Tag Team Title three times and feuded with the team that would become their archrivals, The Midnight Express of Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey. Because of his small stature and good looks, he was usually made the "Face in Peril", meaning he would be the one to take most of the punishment in the matches to get the fans behind the team.
The canyon was inhabited by Utes in the 19th century and was the site of trapping expeditions by early settlers. The relative lack of mineral resources in the surrounding area spared the canyon from intense population increases during the Colorado mining boom (see Colorado Gold Rush). In the early 1880s, the canyon was surveyed for a railroad by archrivals, the Union Pacific Railroad and the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, with the intention of completing a transcontinental line through the Rockies. The canyon was never the site of a railroad, however, and it was not until the 1920s that a road was constructed through the narrows.

God stepped up and coolly slotted the ball past Bolton who remained glued to the spot. It seemed like it would end a draw, but with 17 minutes remaining John Aloisi slotted a ball straight into the box, and a chasing Alex Brosque was tripped by a beaten Paul Henderson. John Aloisi calmly sent the keeper the wrong way and put the penalty straight down the middle, to give the visitors their first win of the season. A few days later, Gimnasia was eliminated from the Copa Sudamericana by the Chilean Colo Colo, in a match so marred by Gimnasia's violence that Argentine Football Association's president Julio Grondona wrote a letter of apology to the president of the ANFP (the Chilean football federation). The pending second half against Boca Juniors was played on 8 November 2006. Boca Juniors scored four goals and won the match. After the match, Troglio and some of the players hinted that the team had received death threats from a fraction of their own supporters, who wanted to benefit Boca in its championship bid against Gimnasia's archrivals Estudiantes.
In the same year, ŽRK Celje became the Slovenian runners-up. One year later, they won the Slovenian national cup against their archrivals, Ljubljana, with the score of 17–11. In the 1965–66 season, Celje finally became the Slovenian republic first league champions, and after successful qualifications one season later in Slavonski Brod, finally became members of the elite Yugoslav Handball Championship. The maiden season in the first Yugoslavian league wasn't so successful, as Celje was relegated back to the republic league (the Slovenian First Republican league was basically the Yugoslavian second division), but managed to come back to the first league the following season.

It ties nationalism with the defence of India's borders and interests against archrivals China and Pakistan, with the defence of the majority's right to be a majority. Religious nationalist parties include the Shiromani Akali Dal, which is closely identified with the creation of a Sikh- majority state in Punjab and includes many Sikh religious leaders in its organisation. In Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena uses the legacy of the independent Maratha kingdom under famous figures like Shivaji to stir up support, and has adopted Hindutva as well. In Assam, the Asom Gana Parishad is a more state- focused party, arising after the frustration of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) as a benevolent expression of Assamese nationalism.

The squad reached the semifinals of the European Cup where it was defeated twice by the defending champions and future winners Ajax Amsterdam who would go on to repeat their success in the following season, making it three in a row. President Santiago Bernabeu attended the Final himself expecting to sign Ajax starplayer Johan Cruyff who instead was ultimately signed by archrivals CF Barcelona during the summer transfer window.
During the tenure of Chiu Sin Yong's Revenue Farming syndicate in Singapore, backed by Khoo Thean Poh, Tan testified against Cheang Hong Lim and his group who had mobilized all of their allies and affiliates and organized a conspiracy to scuttle Chiu's farming syndicate. The Shirley brothers arrived in 1598 and helped reorganize the Iranian army, which proved to be crucial in the Ottoman–Safavid War (1603–18), which resulted in Ottoman defeats in all stages of the war and the first clear pitched Safavid victory of their archrivals. One of the Shirley brothers, Robert Shirley, would lead Abbas's second diplomatic mission to Europe from 1609–1615. The English at sea, represented by the English East India Company, also began to take an interest in Iran, and in 1622 four of its ships helped Abbas retake Hormuz from the Portuguese in the Capture of Ormuz (1622). This was the beginning of the East India Company's long-running interest in Iran.

After easily winning their first two playoff matchups against the Stockton and Malone-led Jazz and the Dirk Nowitzki-led Dallas Mavericks, respectively, the Kings went on to play the archrival and two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, regarded as one of the greatest playoff matchups in history. In a controversial series, the Kings lost in seven games, one game away from what would have been the first NBA Finals and professional sports championship in Sacramento history. This was a crushing blow to the Kings; after losing to their archrivals in a highly controversial series, the team would begin to decline and age in the years that followed.
The club won the next 4 games but Rijjkaard was sacked after losing Ankaragücü at home match with a 4–2 score and was replaced with Gheorghe Hagi. Despite Bülent Ünder took manager position, Galatasaray dropped to 14th place at Round 28. Later this team recovered from this position and finished the league as 8th behind 36 points from Fenerbahçe, league champions.
This deal came after a record year for the Polish striker: his 25 league goals of 2018 made him highest scoring player of a calendar year in Danish Superliga history. After the departure of Benedikt Röcker, Wilczek was appointed as new permanent club captain, having temporarily replaced the former captain while he was benched during large parts of the spring campaign. He continued his goal form in the 2019–20 season, closing in on the club record for most goals in the Superliga held by Brøndby-legend, Ebbe Sand. By this stage Ó Cinnéide was also a key member of the Kerry senior football team. He made his senior debut in a National Football League game against Donegal in 1994, however, he had to wait until the following year for his senior championship debut to come in a provincial semi- final against Limerick. Kerry won that day and Ó Cinnéide lined out in the subsequent Munster final against archrivals Cork. Expectations were high that 'the Kingdom' could defeat 'the Rebels' and break back into the big time after a period in the wilderness. The game was a disappointing one for Ó Cinnéide as his side lost by 0–15 to 1–9.

Qāsem Sultan was a member of the Imānlū branch of the Afshar tribe, one of the original Qizilbash tribes that had supplied power to the Safavids since its earliest days. During King Abbas I's early reign, Qāsem Sultan became the head of a group of Afshars whose duty it was to protect the marshes surrounding the city of Kermanshah. In the early 17th century, marked by wars against the archrivals of the Safavids — the Ottomans — Qāsem Sultan fought with great distinction, which earned him the governorshop of Mosul in 1622. However, shortly after, following the outbreak of a plague, he moved towards the western part of Azerbaijan with the rest of his tribe.
Injuries ruled him completely out of the 1999–2000 season, (aside from an UEFA Cup match against Levski Sofia on 4 November 1999, which ended in a 1–1 home draw, and a Coppa Italia match against Napoli on 16 December 1999, which ended in a 1–0 home win), which saw him transferred to River Plate in Argentina. There, he infamously played only during the club's 2000 pre-season. His only match was a pre-season encounter against archrivals Boca Juniors, and Fonseca helped his club to earn a win by scoring the final penalty in the shootout. A few days later, Fonseca would resign from his contract and join Como in 2001.
The Gold Coast Titans started the season poorly with three first up losses to the reigning premiers St. George Illawarra Dragons, then a 40–12 smashing at the hands of the Melbourne Storm before losing to archrivals the Brisbane Broncos at home. It seemed after the loss to Melbourne that the Titans would never recover and its fans were forecasting a very long season ahead. Round 4 saw the Titans register their first win for the 2011 season with a 23–22 golden point win over the Canberra Raiders thanks to a Greg Bird field goal in the 2nd minute of extra time. The winning feeling was short-lived with a 10-point loss to the North Queensland Cowboys the following week.
Despite several expansions and improvements over the years, Brøndby Stadium could still not achieve acceptable capacity for international matches, and the club was therefore forced to rent Parken Stadium in Indre Østerbro - home of the national team as well as archrivals FC Copenhagen - for major matches under UEFA. This resulted in losses; both on a financial level, but also in terms of prestige, and because of this the board continued to work on plans of further expanding the stadium. The first step was commencing negotiations with Brøndby Municipality in order to secure the total acquisition of the stadium, and as a result of the proceedings, Brøndby IF A/S purchased Brøndby Stadium for DKK 23.5 million in May 1998.Storm & Thomsen 2016, p.
The dispute was in a single game and, as it ended in a draw, the decision went to penalties. In the collections, Corinthians goalkeeper Júlio César defended the sixth collection, from the player from the city of João Vítor, and the Peruvian Ramirez hit the free kick, classifying the team in the championship finals and breaking a Corinthians taboo, who had never eliminated the archrival through penalty kicks. The Derby in 2017 In the same year, in December, the archrivals met again in a decisive game. Palmeiras had no chance of winning a title and was already qualified for the 2012 Copa Sudamericana, but Corinthians was playing the game that could bring their fifth conquest of the Brazilian Championship, played in the system of running points.

In 2014, Ayo was named the new head coach of his alma mater's varsity team, the Letran Knights, besting the likes of former college teammate Kerby Raymundo and PBA legend and fellow Letran alumnus Samboy Lim. In 2015, even with a small lineup yet applying pressure mayhem defense and relentless run and gun offense, he led the Knights to win the NCAA Championship since 2005 and dethrone their archrivals, the erstwhile five-time champion San Beda Red Lions. The season proved to be a disappointment for Hajduk as they only managed to finish 5th in the league, 30 points behind the champions and archrivals Dinamo Zagreb. Jarni was eventually replaced by Goran Vučević on 20 May 2008, 10 days after the club's final league game of the season. On 4 August 2010, Jarni was appointed new manager at Istra 1961, where he replaced Ante Miše, who had been sacked after the club lost their first two matches of the 2010–11 season in the Croatian first division. On 7 August 2010, he had his first match in charge of the club, suffering a 1–0 defeat in an away fixture at Lokomotiva Zagreb in the Croatian top flight.
To end the regular season, Michigan traveled to Columbus, Ohio to face its archrivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, with the goal of ending Ohio State's Big Ten title chances. Ohio State won the previous meeting, its sixth straight against Michigan, capitalizing on five Tate Forcier turnovers en route to a 21–10 victory. Neither team was able to score in the first quarter. Michigan had the best scoring opportunity, as they drove down into the Ohio State red zone before Denard Robinson fumbled the ball during a run. Ohio State opened the scoring early in the second quarter with a 33-yard field goal by Devin Barclay, and then added to their lead with a 7-yard touchdown reception by Dane Sanzenbacher.
The race for the last two Champions League places is reaching its climax, with five points separating Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea, although Arsenal have played one game more. However, should Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final the West London side will automatically qualify for the Champions League regardless of their final place in the table. Everton's belated challenge for European qualification is over; the sole remaining aim of the season is to finish above archrivals Liverpool, who are two points behind in eighth. Wolves have already been mathematically relegated, while Blackburn and Bolton (the latter with a game in hand) remain in the bottom three, but QPR, Wigan and Aston Villa are not yet certain of safety.
The Aggies began the 2006–07 season deemed capable of contending with the Kansas Jayhawks for the Big 12 Conference regular-season crown and were picked to finish second in the Big 12 media and coaches' polls. In their twelfth attempt, on February 3, 2007, Texas A&M; became the first Big 12 Conference team in the South Division to beat the Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse, moving them into sole possession of first place in the conference standing. Less than forty-eight hours later the Aggies defeated their archrivals, then the number-25th ranked Texas Longhorns, marking their 21st straight win at home. The 2006–07 Aggies ended the regular season ranked #7 by the Associated Press and #6 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll.
Midway through his first season in the Croatian first division, the country's top clubs Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split became interested in signing Schildenfeld and his Šibenik teammate Ante Rukavina. It first seemed likely that Schildenfeld and Rukavina would move to Hajduk together, but then Dinamo entered the race for the two players. In the end, on 2 January 2007, Schildenfeld moved to Dinamo while Rukavina joined archrivals Hajduk. Despite only having five months of top-flight experience at the time, Schildenfeld quickly managed to establish himself as a regular at Dinamo and helped the club winning both Croatian league and cup titles, also netting the crucial away goal against Slaven Belupo in the second leg of the cup final.
In late July 2005, it was confirmed that he would return to his original football team, Universidad de Chile on a temporary deal from Juventus, and the never- ending love of the fans of Universidad de Chile for Salas was evident. Although the press was tough on him for being an injury-prone player (Salas played just 10 games in 2005), he carried Universidad de Chile to the cup finals. The 2005 final was decided on a shootout, won by Universidad Católica. After retirement rumors flourished in the summer of 2006, Salas began campaign with Universidad de Chile and led the team to the final one more time, which saw Universidad de Chile dropping the title to archrivals Colo-Colo on penalties.
Even though the club won promotion again in the 2011 Superettan he still made the move to another Allsvenskan side, Mjällby AIF, at the end of that year. During the summer of 2013 he was offered a contract by Stockholm based club AIK but instead chose to sign a 3.5 year deal with their archrivals Djurgårdens IF. In the beginning he struggled for his new club, but after the new manager Per Olsson arrived Radetinac regained his form and was considered one of the best players in the league when he suffered an ACL injury which made him miss the second half of the 2015 Allsvenskan season. On 10 May 2018 he played as Djurgarden beat Malmo FF 3-0 in the Swedish Cup Final.
Burton played college hockey for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines, a Division I American Collegiate Hockey Association program below the level of major NCAA collegiate hockey. After graduation, he played in 1992 with the Austrian national team, which finished 1st in the B Pool at the World Championships. Burton was named both the best defensive player of the B Pool tourney and to the pool's all-star squad. He signed with the Oklahoma City Blazers of the CHL for the 1992-93 season—the inaugural year for the revived CHL—and finished 4th in team scoring, while leading the team in goals and points in the playoffs, where the Blazers lost in the finals to their archrivals, the Tulsa Oilers.
After establishing himself as a first-team player for the country in 2001, Khalid's international career was rocked when he was sacked by the then-head coach Allan Harris, along with Kamarulzaman Hassan and Azmin Azram Abdul Aziz for staying out late at a disco before the 2002 World Cup preliminary games against Qatar, Palestine and Hong Kong.Malaysia axe disco trio Khalid is widely considered as the best target man in the country, and has been proven right by coaches such as Bertalan Bicskei, who stuck with him throughout the 2004 Tiger Cup. He eventually silenced his critics with 2 goals against archrivals Thailand, in a game in which Malaysia won 2-1. Malaysia layak ke separuh akhir -- Dua jaringan Khalid .
To avoid making their existing catalogs instantly obsolete, the two long-time archrivals agreed privately not to publicize the new process until November 1925, by which time enough electrically recorded repertory would be available to meet the anticipated demand. During the next few years, the lesser record companies licensed or developed other electrical recording systems. By 1929 only the budget label Harmony was still issuing new recordings made by the old acoustical process. Comparison of some surviving Western Electric test recordings with early commercial releases indicates that the record companies artificially reduced the frequency range of recordings so they would not overwhelm non-electronic playback equipment, which reproduced very low frequencies as an unpleasant rattle and rapidly wore out discs with strongly recorded high frequencies.
Texas would fall to Arkansas six days later in the SWC Tournament final—the last meeting between the Longhorns and the SEC-bound Razorbacks as conference archrivals. Texas nonetheless ended the season ranked No. 23 in the final AP Poll, for the Longhorns' first appearance in the final AP Poll since the 1978 NIT Championship team, and for only the second time in program history. Texas received a No. 5 seed in the 1991 NCAA Tournament, and the Longhorns would advance from the first round for the third consecutive year before falling 84–76 to fourth-seeded St. John's in the second round, which made 61 percent of its shots—and 71.4 percent of its first-half shots—while holding Texas to just 40 percent in field-goal percentage.
Lack of funds for new model investment was a striking feature of the company's final decade. Chrysler was also keen to take control of the struggling firm as it wished to have its own wholly independent European subsidiaries like archrivals Ford and GM. Chrysler took over Simca of France and Barreiros of Spain at the same time, merging it with Rootes (now renamed "Chrysler UK") to create Chrysler Europe. The Rootes name had largely vanished by 1971, and its other brand names were progressively phased out during the 1970s. Only Hillman was left by 1977, when it, too, was shelved in favour of the Chrysler name. The Commer name was also phased out in the 1970s, the group's van and truck models mostly assuming the Dodge nameplate by 1976.
While he was in prison, Guzmán's drug empire and cartel continued to operate unabated, run by his brother, Arturo Guzmán Loera, known as El Pollo, with Guzmán himself still considered a major international drug trafficker by Mexico and the U.S. even while he was behind bars. Associates brought him suitcases of cash to bribe prison workers and allow the drug lord to maintain his opulent lifestyle even in prison, with prison guards acting like his servants. He met his longtime mistress and later Sinaloa associate, former police officer Zulema Hernández, while in prison, where she was serving time for armed robbery. Hernández later controlled Sinaloa's expansion into Mexico City, but in 2008 her body was found in a trunk, carved with multiple Zs, signifying Los Zetas, Sinaloa's archrivals.
Architects Oscar Novak (Perry) and Peter Steinberg (Platt) have just landed a career-making opportunity to design of a multimillion-dollar cultural center for wealthy businessman Charles Newman (McDermott). In a ploy for publicity, Newman has pitched Oscar and Peter in a neck-and-neck competition with their archrivals and former colleagues, the hugely successful Decker and Strauss (Bob Balaban and John C. McGinley). When Newman meets Oscar and Peter, he assumes that they are lovers, even though Oscar is straight. (Peter is in fact gay, but his relationship with Oscar is strictly platonic.) Under the mistaken impression that Oscar is gay, he asks Oscar to keep an eye on his mistress Amy (Campbell) and make sure that she does not talk to his wife Olivia (Kelly Rowan).
He controversially transferred from Accra Hearts of Oak to archrivals Asante Kotoko in 2003 for the then domestic transfer record fee of GH₵ 40,000 (roughly US$42,000). Charles Taylor essentially boycotted training with Hearts of oak and did not play any games way into the season just to force the move. His first season with Kotoko was a success and he won the Ghana Premier league with Kotoko in 2003. However, this transfer caused a lot of bitter local sentiment towards Taylor, from which his popularity has never recovered...Charles Taylor fit to play for Hearts Taylor joined Etoile du Sahel from Kotoko in 2004 for a fee of US$250,000Charles Taylor To Miss Next Match After an unsuccessful spell in Tunisia he was loaned to Accra Hearts of Oak in October 2006.
The Yankees took control of the best record in baseball, highlighted by a four-game sweep of their archrivals the Boston Red Sox from August 6–9. Entering the series, the Yankees had lost all 8 games in which they had faced the Red Sox in 2009. During Game 1 of the series, the Yankees pounded Red Sox starter John Smoltz for nine hits, four walks, and eight earned runs in 3.1 IP. Jorge Posada finished a triple shy of the cycle as the Yankees recorded 18 hits total and went on to win 13-6. On Friday night, the second game of the series, it took 15 innings for a run to be recorded in the form of a walk-off two-run home run by Alex Rodriguez.
The 2007 Gators looked even more mature in terms of their unselfishness, passing and shooting abilities and overall team play. Although the Gators sputtered down the stretch during SEC play, losing three of four games beginning with a loss at Vanderbilt, the team rebounded with its sixth consecutive win over its archrivals, the Kentucky Wildcats, to regain momentum and claim the SEC regular season championship. The Gators then repeated as SEC Tournament champions with dominating performances that culminated in a win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the finals. Florida earned the number one overall seed in the 2007 NCAA Tournament and defeated Jackson State, Purdue, Butler and Oregon to reach the Final Four. The semi-final was a rematch of the 2006 title game against UCLA, and Donovan's Gators prevailed 76–66.
Camacho highlighted the team's poor defensive performances and persuaded Florentino Pérez to spend a total of €45 million on both Argentine defender Walter Samuel and English centre-back Jonathan Woodgate from Roma and Newcastle United, respectively, but failed to sign Arsenal's midfield general Patrick Vieira due to his boldness of asking for a Galáctico-like paycheck in the likeness of Luís Figo's, Zinedine Zidane's, Ronaldo's and David Beckham's. The summer of 2004 also saw the sale of Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o, who had been previously loaned out to Mallorca, to archrivals Barcelona. In addition to the defensive additions, English striker Michael Owen was bought from Liverpool, but the player never settled at Real Madrid. Somewhat ironically, Eto'o would go on to achieve great success with Barcelona in just his first season with the team.
In addition, he won 4 consecutive starts against Giants pitcher Tetsuya Utsumi and recorded the lowest ERA of 1.45 against the Hiroshima Carp (4 wins in 7 starts). 2010 Nōmi fractured his right foot on May 2 while baserunning and was taken off the roster. He underwent rehab for several months and returned on September 9, where he pitched 7 innings against the Dragons and gave up 2 runs with 10 strikeouts. On September 18, he pitched 7 shutout innings in his start against the Giants in Koshien Stadium and recorded his fourth win of the season. His winning streak against the Giants continued on the 29th when he notched his 7th consecutive victory against the Tigers' archrivals since July 2009, which placed 2nd to Shigeru Kobayashi's franchise record of 8 consecutive wins.
The team were forced to play a replay of their Munster semi-final against Cork only a few of days after the funeral of the brother of team manager Páidí Ó Sé and father of team members Darragh, Tomás and Marc Ó Sé. Cork took full advantage and Kerry embarked on a qualifier campaign which saw them account for Wicklow, Fermanagh and Kildare before they trounced reigning champions Galway in the All-Ireland quarter- final before stuffing archrivals Cork in a unique all-Munster All-Ireland semi-final. The subsequent All-Ireland decider pitted Kerry against Armagh in one of the great finals of recent years. The first-half saw everything going Kerry's way while Armagh floundered. The Ulster men lost John McEntee to concussion while Oisín McConville missed a penalty just before the interval.
2000 Greek Baseball Cup winners Spartakos participated in the first Greek Baseball league championship in 2000 and they finished in second place behind Marousi 2004. The same year they won the inaugural Greek Baseball Cup after beating A.O. Pelopas Patron in the final 23-13. The next year, Spartakos, which had a frustrating year, struggled in the Greek league managing to finish in the fourth place in a year that saw them failing also to defend the Greek cup after being eliminated to the semifinals. In 2002 they were improved in the Greek league but they still could not beat Marousi 2004 for the title finishing in second place, although they manage to beat their archrivals in the Greek Baseball Cup final 13-3 winning their second cup.
Liverpool's first game of the month came against West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium and finished in a second successive 1–1 draw, with Michail Antonio scoring just before the 30-minute mark to cancel-out another Mané opener. This allowed Manchester City to go top of the league on goal difference with wins against Arsenal and Liverpool's archrivals Everton. The Reds then bounced back with what ultimately proved to be an easy 3–0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield, with Mané and Wijnaldum scoring within ten minutes of each other in the first half and Salah adding the final goal just minutes after the start of the second half. With his goal, Salah became the first player since Luis Suárez to score at least 20 goals in successive seasons.
In the playoffs, the Breakers defeated first-placed Melbourne United in the semi-finals with a 2–0 sweep, moving on to their fifth NBL Grand Final appearance in six years. There they faced their archrivals the Perth Wildcats, but after losing Game 1, the Breakers fought out a Game 2 win in Auckland to level the series. They went on to lose Game 3 in Perth, earning their first grand final series loss and losing a series to the Wildcats for the first time in their playoff history. Following the 2015–16 season, chief executive Richard Clarke and coach Dean Vickerman parted ways with the organisation, with Paul Henare stepping up from assistant to take the reins as head coach, while Dillon Boucher took control of the front office as general manager.
In a historic moment on February 3, 2007, Law's Aggies became the first Big 12 South team (in 32 attempts) to ever beat the then-Number 6 Kansas Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas led for much of the game, but Law scored 10 of A&M;'s final 13 points to ensure the victory for the Aggies, and Big 12 Player of the Week honors for himself. Two days later the team beat then-Number 25 Texas, their twenty-first straight home win, making them the sole leader of the Big 12. Although forced to leave the game for three minutes after hitting the floor hard and injuring his leg, Law earned 21 points and a school-record 15 assists in the 100–82 victory over their archrivals.
Soft disciplinary action against Gimnasia's president (in Spanish) Prior to the continuation of this game, several weeks later, some Gimnasia players complained that they had been pressed by nondescript visitors who wished that Gimnasia would allow a victory by Boca, so as not to benefit archrivals Estudiantes. In the outcry that followed, Muñoz was widely considered responsible for these events."Officially" under pressure (in Spanish) Gimnasia went on to lose the game 1-4, after leading 1-0 at the time of suspension. Muñoz's tenure was also marked by the worst-ever defeat at a La Plata derby (a 0-7 fall against Estudiantes), as well as by the relegation of the once-powerful basketball team, following the withdrawal of strong financial support for this sport in the Club.

Dunga in 2006 On 24 July 2006, Dunga was named as the new national coach of the Brazilian national team as a replacement for Carlos Alberto Parreira, despite the fact that he had no prior coaching experience at the professional level. Nonetheless, he made an impressive start with Brazil, winning four of his first five matches. Dunga's first match in charge was against Norway which was played in Oslo on 16 August 2006; the game ended in a 1–1 draw. His second match was held against archrivals Argentina on 3 September at Arsenal's new Emirates Stadium in London; Brazil won 3–0. Federer and Nadal met in a major final for the first time since the French Open in 2011. The match between the perennial but aging archrivals was anticipated due to speculation of this possibly being their last contest in a major final, the potential tennis history made from either victory and subsequent implications on their respective legacies, and the match's relevance towards discussing either man as being 'the greatest tennis player of all time'. Federer triumphed in five sets despite being a break down early in the deciding fifth set. This was the first time Federer won a major since Wimbledon in 2012, the first time he defeated Nadal at a major since the Wimbledon final of 2007, and the first time that Federer defeated Nadal in a Grand Slam tournament match outside the grass courts of Wimbledon.
He signed a two-year contract to stay with the club until the end of the 2014 season. Frimpong finished his 2013 campaign with six goals and in the 2014 season, he scored three goals including a double against New York Cosmos in a performance which earned him a spot on the North American Soccer League team of the week. In 2015, Frimpong joined the Rowdies' archrivals Fort Lauderdale Strikers and helped them to the NASL playoffs with brilliant performances in key games, most notably against his former team, the Tampa bay rowdies, where he delivered the game winning assist to lead the strikers to capture the 2015 Coastal Cup. After a season with the Strikers, he went to Vendsyssel FF in Denmark for trials but later signed with Oklahoma City Energy FC on February 1 for the 2016 season.
During the 2005–06 English football season, Southampton Football Club competed in the Football League Championship after relegation from the premier league the previous season. Southampton endured a poor to largely indifferent season after relegation from the Premier League the previous season and finished in a lowly 12th place in the Championship. Although the south coast side started the season well, they ended up drawing too many games (19 games by the season's end) and a run of five wins from 35 games dragged them into the lower reaches of the table and put Southampton in danger of a second successive relegation. Manager Harry Redknapp, unable to establish consistency and unhappy with the appointment of former rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward to the coaching staff, had resigned in December, returning as manager of Southampton's archrivals Portsmouth.
In Phillip Norman's view, the title served as "a sly dig at their archrivals (and private best mates) the Rolling Stones", with the added implication that the Beatles' "variety" of soul music "at least was stamped out by a good strong northern [English] Wellington boot". Rubber Soul was the group's first album not to feature their name on the cover, an omission that reflected the level of control they had over their releases and the extent of their international fame. The cover photo of the Beatles was taken by photographer Robert Freeman in the garden at Lennon's house. The idea for the "stretched" effect of the image came about by accident when Freeman was projecting the photo onto an LP- size piece of cardboard for the Beatles' benefit, and the board fell slightly backwards, elongating the projected image.
Hyshmeri become a free agent after his departure from Partizani, and on 22 August 2014, completed a transfer to with their archrivals Tirana by signing a one-year contract ahead of the 2014–15 Albanian Superliga season. He made his debut just two days later in the opening game of the season in a 3–0 home win over Apolonia Fier, where he came on as an 81st-minute substitute and scored his first goal for the club. Following the match, Hyshmeri dedicated the goal to his coach Gugash Magani for "believing" in him and "giving him the opportunity" to debut in the match. He featured in 22 league games and scored twice during the 2014–15 season, but he only made 9 starts, as he was mainly used as a substitute by the head coach Magani.
The Green Archers then had a four-game winning streak to assure themselves of a place in the Final Four. However, with a twice to beat advantage a win away, archrivals Ateneo snapped La Salle's winning streak via a defensive stand to deny La Salle the shot within regulation. Seeking to prevent a sweep, La Salle managed to keep away UE in their last elimination round game but UE mounted a furious comeback to force the game into overtime - La Salle actually had the opportunity to win the game but Rico Maierhoffer tapped the ball last when he stood unmolested under the basket. Clutch freethrows from Mark Borboran and disqualifications of La Salle's Maierhoffer and JV Casio due to fouling out kept La Salle from coming back and resulted to the first sweep of the men's tournament since 1993, when UST did it.
In the seventh to ninth centuries, following the disintegration of the Sassanid Persian Empire and Roman Empire, leaders in the world theatre for the last four centuries and archrivals, the area was again invaded from the west, this time by Umar, second Caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate, in the Islamic conquest of Afghanistan, eventually resulting in the conversion of most of its inhabitants to Islam. This was one of many Muslim conquests following the establishment of a unified state in the Arabian Peninsula by the prophet Muhammad. At its height, Muslim control - during the period of the Umayyad Caliphate - extended from the borders of China to the Iberian Peninsula (modern day Spain and Portugal), the Middle East, North Africa, parts of southern Europe, parts of south East Europe, parts of central Asia, and parts of South Asia.
It would mark the first time since the 1970 merger that no team that was a member of the American Football League at any point in its history participated in the AFC Championship Game, as both the Colts and Steelers were with the "old" NFL before moving to the newly formed AFC in 1970 to even out the two conferences. (Since then, only the 2008 AFC Championship Game between the Steelers and their archrivals, the Baltimore Ravens, has the AFC title been played for between two non-AFL teams.) The game was a rematch of the Week 3 contest between the two teams from the previous season, which the Steelers won at home, 31–21. The 1995 AFC Championship Game would be the second of four consecutive seasons in which the two teams met in Pittsburgh, an uncommon sight for non-division rivals.
However, after several delays and a political war over funding and planning, the stadium plans were put on hold indefinitely, adding to a list of set-backs that stretch well over a decade. The fact that archrivals Nacional were allowed to construct a new stand and training facility at their Estádio da Madeira (with government backing) angered Marítimo's fans even more. A year later, on 14 September 2007, an agreement between the club's directors and the Madeiran government (of whom own a 40% share of the club) was reached to use the site of the current Estádio dos Barreiros as the location of a brand new, reconstructed commercial stadium. Work began on the new stadium on 20 July 2009, with the realigning of the pitch and demolition of the Bancada Nascente, reducing the capacity to 5,000 seats in the Bancada Central stand.
An hour later, the place was turned into rubble, wood and joists smoldering ashes everywhere, an occasional call announcing his victory over what was once the largest park Mexico Soccer . There you have to remember, that March 26, 1939, as the day gave beginning to the end of the wooden stage, this fire was the perfect excuse for the Mexican capital decided to remove the wooden stage . AbbasI, the powerful, pragmatic Safavid ruler who reinforced Iran's military, political, and economic power The Safavid era peaked in the reign of Abbas I (1587–1629), surpassing their Turkish archrivals in strength, and making Iran a leading science and art hub in western Eurasia. The Safavid era saw the start of mass integration from Caucasian populations into new layers of the society of Iran, as well as mass resettlement of them within the heartlands of Iran, playing a pivotal role in the history of Iran for centuries onwards. Following a gradual decline in the late 1600s and the early 1700s, which was caused by internal conflicts, the continuous wars with the Ottomans, and the foreign interference (most notably the Russian interference), the Safavid rule was ended by the Pashtun rebels who besieged Isfahan and defeated Sultan Husayn in 1722.
The team broke another Lebanese championship record by stretching its winning streak to 44 wins without any loss in almost two years, ever since the 2003–2004 season when Riyadi lost to Blue Stars on April 7, 2004. Riyadi's winning streak in the league ended on March 7, 2006 when the team lost to Sagesse for the first time after an 8–0 record against the archrivals in the past two years. In 2006, Al Riyadi preserved the Lebanese Championship title for the 2005/2006 season with minor changes in the roster highlighted by the assistance of the new import Calvin Warner who temporarily replaced Captain Tony Madison in the semi-finals and finals. Al Riyadi won over Sagesse in the final 3–0 with the first game ending with 23 points difference, the second with 29 points difference, and the third with 22 points difference.
540x540px In 2006, Marítimo unveiled ambitious plans for a new stadium in the Praia Formosa area of the city placing Barreiros' future as a major football venue in doubt, with União also working towards relocation. However, after several delays and a political war over funding and planning, the stadium plans were put on hold indefinitely, adding to a list of set-backs that stretch well over a decade. The fact that archrivals Nacional were allowed to construct a new stand and training facility at their Estádio da Madeira with government backing, angered Marítimo's fans even more. Despite finding little playing time through tough competition, Rosina had impressed on occasions, achieving a total of two goals and two assists in nine RFPL games out of remaining fourteen. 2010 preseason saw another head coach change, as fellow Italian Luciano Spalletti took reign. However, with Danny having recovered from cruciate ligaments injury, Rosina again found himself on the bench at the start of the season. Being used mainly as a substitute, he managed to contribute with a vital assist against archrivals Spartak Moscow, finding Nicolas Lombaerts' head with a perfect cross in a game that finished 1–1. As Spalletti settled to a counterattacking 4–3–3 or 4–2–3–1 formation with two wingers, and established internationals Danny, Konstantin Zyryanov and Danko Lazović all being options on the left, left-footed Rosina was mainly used in the rotation on the right as a backup for Bystrov.
The Safavids' archrivals, the neighbouring Ottomans, invaded western and northwestern Safavid Iran and took swaths of territory there, including the city of Baghdad. Together with the Russians, they agreed to divide and keep the conquered Iranian territories for themselves as confirmed in the Treaty of Constantinople (1724). A map of Safavid Empire in 1720, showing different states of Persia The tribal Afghans rode roughshod over their conquered territory for seven years but were prevented from making further gains by Nader Shah, a former slave who had risen to military leadership within the Afshar tribe in Khorasan, a vassal state of the Safavids. Quickly making a name as a military genius both feared and respected amongst the empire's friends and enemies (including Iran's archrival the Ottoman Empire, and Russia; both empires Nader would deal with soon afterwards), Nader Shah easily defeated the Afghan Hotaki forces in the 1729 Battle of Damghan.
"BBC - Basile resigns as Argentina coach" This eventually paved the road to the appointment of Diego Maradona as national team coach."BBC - Maradona named as Argentina coach" As a coach, Basile had in total two tenures at the helm of the Argentina national football team, 1991–1994 and 2006-2008\. On 1 July 2009, Basile returned to Boca Juniors after three years, replacing Carlos Ischia.Alfio Basile could replace Carlos Ischia at Boca Juniors But after a series of bad results, especially the failure to qualify for the Copa Libertadores 2010 and a crushing 3–1 defeat to archrivals River Plate during a summer tournament at Mar del Plata, he resigned on 21 January 2010.Boca Juniors coach Basile quits, replaced by Alves USA Today, accessed on 22 January 2010 On 26 December 2011, Basile returned to Racing Club for his fourth spell as their coach, taking over from Diego Simeone.
He also made his fourth All-Star team and the All-NBA Second Team. In the 2002 Playoffs the Kings defeated the Utah Jazz in four games and Dallas Mavericks in five games in the first two rounds en route to reaching the Western Conference Finals against their archrivals, the defending-champion Los Angeles Lakers led by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal, a series that would prove to be one of the most memorable (and most controversial) in NBA History. The series was nip and tuck all the way as both teams traded wins in the first six games of the series as the Lakers won games one, four (highlighted by the game winner from Robert Horry) and six (a game which featured many controversial calls, including a late-game foul on Mike Bibby after he was bleeding from being elbowed in the nose by Bryant. All told, the Lakers shot 27 free throws in the fourth quarter.
The contractually obligated Syracuse game – part of a two-season home-and-home series between the former archrivals in the original Big East Conference – provided Georgetown with its only truly challenging non-conference game, and even then Syracuse was facing a down year in which pundits projected the Orange to finish next-to-last in the Atlantic Coast Conference. None of the schools had received an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA Tournament – Mount St. Mary's, a 16th-seed in the tournament,Carey, Teddy, "Don’t Be So Blue: Weak Schedule Is A Gray Area," georgetownvoice.com, November 10, 2018. Retrieved July 28, 2018 was the only team among Georgetown's 11 non-conference opponents that made the tournament and did so via an automatic bid by winning the 2017 Northeast Conference Tournament – and none of them were projected to make the 2018 NCAA Tournament; preseason prognosticators raised the possibility that none of them would make even the 2018 National Invitation Tournament.
Bulls forward Mike Dunleavy Jr. was ruled out for at least the first four months of the season after completing back surgery. With Dunleavy out indefinitely, the Bulls promoted Doug McDermott to the starting lineup in his place at small forward. Before the season started, coach Fred Hoiberg made an incredibly controversial move by putting Nikola Mirotić as his starting power forward to pair with center Pau Gasol, meaning Joakim Noah, a long-time Bulls veteran and a fan-favorite was to come off the bench. Hoiberg told the media that the move was suggested by Noah himself but Noah denied having made any suggestions to Hoiberg, which sparked a distrust between the two before the season even began. The Bulls started the 2015–16 season off well with an impressive season-opening 97–95 victory against archrivals and defending Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers and jumped to an 8–3 record in the first month.
Mike Ellis departed to become head coach of the Nottingham Panthers in May 2006 and was replaced on 25 May, by his assistant, Ryan Aldridge, with Lee Ealey-Newman bench coach. 10 months later, On 11 March 2007, the Bracknell Bees were crowned champions of the English Premier Ice Hockey League for the 2006/2007 season, following a 3–0 shut-out of the Romford Raiders, as the only remaining contenders for the title, the Sheffield Scimitars lost at Milton Keynes. Not content with one trophy though, Bees followed it up with their first ever play-off success at the SkyDome Arena in Coventry, overcoming the Peterborough Phantoms 2–1 in a semi-final shoot-out, before defeating archrivals and the previous season's league champions, the Guildford Flames, 3–2, in the final. In April 2007, David and Sharon Taylor announced that they were to take on the ownership of the Basingstoke Bison as well as the Bees.
In 1905 Mohun Bagan reached the finals of the Gladstone Cup which was held in Chinsurah where they defeated the reigning IFA Shield champions Dalhousie 6–1. The IFA Shield Winning Team of 1911 In 1911, Mohun Bagan created history by becoming the first Indian club to win the IFA Shield after defeating East Yorkshire Regiment 2–1 on 29 July. Most Mohun Bagan players played bare feet while East Yorkshire Regiment played with proper footballing equipment. This win was considered a landmark victory in the Indian freedom struggle. Mohun Bagan played their first match in first division of Calcutta Football League on 15 May 1915 against Calcutta Club. In 1939 Mohun Bagan won their first Calcutta Football League title. Mohun Bagan got incredible success from 1933 to 1939 where they won 29 trophies. During that phase, out of 23 derbies, they beat East Bengal 12 times (including 1 walk over win), drew 10 matches and lost only once to their archrivals.
The Falcons also started wearing black cleats with these uniforms. In 2004, the red jerseys became the primary jerseys, and the black ones became the alternate, both worn with white pants. In select road games, the Falcons wear black pants with white jerseys. The Falcons wore an all-black combination for home games against their archrivals, the New Orleans Saints, winning the first two contests (24–21 in and 36–17 in ), but losing 31–13 in . The Falcons wore the all black combination against the New Orleans Saints for four straight seasons starting in 2004, With the last time being in 2007, losing 34–14. They wore the combination again in 2006, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2. The Falcons won that game, 14–3. The Falcons also wore their all-black uniform in 2007 against the New York Giants, and in 2008 against the Carolina Panthers and against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (for the second time).
However, Shearer was forced to miss January through to May due to injury and England's World Cup qualification chances were hit by a run of poor form. Returning to fitness for the 1993–94 season, he scored 31 goals from 40 games as Blackburn finished runners-up in the Premier League. His performances for the club led to him being named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year for that season. On the international scene, England had failed to qualify for the 1994 World Cup finals, but Shearer added three more goals to his international tally before embarking on his most successful domestic season as a player to date. The arrival of Chris Sutton for the 1994–95 season established a strong attacking partnership at Blackburn. Shearer's 34 goals coupled with Sutton's 15, helped the Lancashire club take the Premier League title from archrivals Manchester United on the final day of the season, and the duo gained the nickname "the SAS" (Shearer And Sutton).
All 17 regions have won at least one gold medal during the 2015 Palarong Pambansa, including regions who have not won any gold medal in the 2014 Palarong Pambansa such as Zamboanga Peninsula, Mimaropa, Ilocos, and Caraga. This makes it one of the most-awarded Palaro games in history. Driven by the support of the massive home crowd, DavRAA aimed to finish in fifth place, three places from last year's eight, but it has only bagged 13 gold medals, 23 silver medals, and 30 bronze medals in all regular games, ranking ninth for this year; DavRAA did finish with a medal tally of 4G-4S-9B for Demonstration Games (Fourth Place), and 11G-6S-6B for Special Games (Third Place). On the other hand, NCRAA dominated the medal tally in regular games with 98 gold medals, 67 silver medals, and 71 bronze medals, followed by archrivals STCAA (51G-41S-49B) and WVRAA (42G-48S-41B).
Borisov came through the youth system of Loko Sofia and made his A PFG debut on 25 April 1991, in the railwaymen's 3:0 home win over Chernomorets Burgas, impressing with his performance. In the summer of 1997, he was signed by Levski Sofia on the insistence of coach Stefan Grozdanov and manager & player's agent Andrey Zhelyazkov. Notable highlights during his stay with the "bluemen" included a strong performance in the 1998 Bulgarian Cup Final against archrivals CSKA Sofia, which Levski Sofia won by a score of 5:0, as well as the netting of three goals in the 8:1 rout against Belarusian side Lokomotiv-96 Vitebsk on 13 August 1998 (the second largest margin of victory in European club tournaments for the team) in a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup match. He is the second Levski Sofia player (after legend Nikola Kotkov) to score a hat-trick for the team in European competitions.
Born in Presidente Prudente, a city of the state of São Paulo, also having Italian origins, Zago began playing professional football with São Paulo FC, where he remained for three years, and then signed to Albacete Balompié, Spain, where he stayed for only one season. He returned to his homeland, this time to Palmeiras, another team of São Paulo and a rival to his previous Brazilian team. After three years with the club, he emigrated once again, this time to Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol, where once again remained for only one year before returning to play in São Paulo, but this time at Corinthians, being one of the few players who have played in all the three biggest teams of the city and archrivals as well. In January 1998, Zago moved to the Italian capital to join Roma, at the request of the club's manager Zdenek Zeman, who was looking to reinforce the team's defensive line.
The Complete Handbook of Gaelic Games p. 177 He was later a non-playing substitute as Kerry went on to claim the Munster title but lose the All-Ireland final to Offaly after a draw and a replay. Two more National League titles followed for O'Sullivan in 1973 and 1974, however, archrivals Cork claimed the Munster title in both years. Things began to change in 1975 as Mick O'Dwyer took over as Kerry manager and O'Sullivan was appointed captain for the year. While 'the Kingdom' had played second fiddle to Cork over the previous two years, O'Sullivan's side smashed 'the Rebels' in that year's Munster final. A huge 1–14 to 0–7 scoreline gave Kerry the win and gave O'Sullivan his first Munster title on the field of play. The Complete Handbook of Gaelic Games p. 140 The Kenmare man later lined out in his first senior All-Ireland final. Reigning champions Dublin provided the opposition and were installed as the red-hot favourites over the youngest Kerry team of all-time.
AIK did not participate in the Swedish championships of 1902 and 1903. In 1902, AIK instead competed in "Svenska bollspelsförbundets tävlingsserie", a league competition open only to clubs from Stockholm. AIK competed with two teams in the first year of the competition. The competition was played until 1909, with AIK winning it in 1908 and 1909, and was replaced by Svenska Serien. Two years after the start of the "tävlingsserie", 1904, twelve teams participated in the championship, one of them being AIK for the first time since winning it. AIK went through to the semi-finals, where they were beaten by archrivals Djurgårdens IF. In 1905, AIK went just as far, this time being beaten by IFK Stockholm. AIK competed in the championship three times in 1906–1910 without any success, but in 1911 they won the championship for the third time after beating IFK Uppsala in the final. After that, AIK were eliminated in the semi-finals of 1912 and 1913 but won the championship once again in 1914.
Several of these championship wins included memorable victories against archrivals Boca Juniors. Ramón Díaz had three tenures on River Plate (1995–2000, 2001–02, and 2012–14), being the club's most successful manager in the domestic scene, having achieved six Primera División titles (1996–97 Torneo Apertura, 1996–97 Torneo Clausura, 1997–98 Torneo Apertura, 1999–2000 Torneo Apertura, 2001–02 Torneo Clausura, 2013–14 Torneo Final) and one Copa Campeonato (2014); internationally, he won the Copa Libertadores (1996) and one Supercopa Libertadores (1997). José María Minella was another notable manager with eight titles won with River Plate, seven Primera División championships (1945, 1947, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, 1957) and one Copa Dr. Ricardo Aldao (1947). Ángel Labruna had an outstanding career not only as player (he is club's all-time topscorer with 293 goals in 515 matches played), but as coach for the club, having won six Primera División championships (1975 Torneo Metropolitano, 1975 Torneo Nacional, 1977 Torneo Metropolitano, 1979 Torneo Nacional, 1979 Torneo Metropolitano, and 1980 Torneo Metropolitano).
People of Urmia awaiting the Shah, 1911 Urmia fruit market, 1911 According to Vladimir Minorsky, there were villages in the Urmia Plain as early as 2000BC, with their civilization under the influence of the Kingdom of Van. Excavations of the ancient ruins near Urmia led to the discovery of utensils that date to the 20thcentury BC. In ancient times, the west bank of Urmia Lake was called Gilzan, and in the 9thcentury BC an independent government ruled there, which later joined the Urartu or Manna empire; in the 8thcentury BC, the area was a vassal of the Asuzh government until it joined the Median Empire. Assyrians who did survive the invasion of Baghdad by Timur fled through northern Iraq up into the Hakkari Mountains to the west of Lake Urmia and the area remained as their homeland until the 19th century. During the Safavid era, the neighboring Ottoman Turks, who were the archrivals of the Safavids, made several incursions into the city and captured it on more than one occasion, but the Safavids successfully regained control over the area.
Pittsburgh began their Super Bowl run with a 35–24 win over the fourth-seeded San Diego Chargers, gaining 342 yards, avoiding any turnovers, holding the ball for 36:30 (including for 14:43 in the third quarter alone, an NFL record for a single quarter), and scoring a touchdown in every quarter. Also, Parker appeared to be fully recovered from his regular season injuries, as evidenced by his career postseason high 147-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Chargers. Pittsburgh then went on to beat, for the third time in the season, their AFC North division archrivals, the sixth-seeded Baltimore Ravens 23–14 in the AFC Championship Game, holding them to 184 yards and forcing five turnovers. Arizona advanced to the Super Bowl by beating the fifth-seeded Atlanta Falcons 30–24, the second-seeded Carolina Panthers, 33–13, and the sixth-seeded Philadelphia Eagles 32–25 in the NFC Championship Game, winning more playoff games than the team had won in the last sixty years.
For most of its lineup (excluding the A3, A1, and TT models), Audi has not adopted the transverse engine layout which is typically found in economy cars (such as Peugeot and Citroën), since that would limit the type and power of engines that can be installed. To be able to mount powerful engines (such as a V8 engine in the Audi S4 and Audi RS4, as well as the W12 engine in the Audi A8L W12), Audi has usually engineered its more expensive cars with a longitudinally front-mounted engine, in an "overhung" position, over the front wheels in front of the axle line - this layout dates back to the DKW and Auto Union saloons from the 1950s. But while this allows for the easy adoption of all-wheel drive, it goes against the ideal 50:50 weight distribution. In all its post Volkswagen-era models, Audi has firmly refused to adopt the traditional rear-wheel drive layout favored by its two archrivals Mercedes- Benz and BMW, favoring either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Green shows the Kurdish population in the region, while yellow is used for Arabs and purple for Yazidis The region was conquered by Arab Muslims in the mid 7th century AD as the invading forces conquered the Sassanian Empire, while Assyria was dissolved as a geo-political entity (although Assyrians remain in the area to this day), and the area made part of the Muslim Arab Rashidun, Umayyad, and later the Abbasid Caliphates, before becoming part of various Iranian, Turkic, and Mongol emirates. Following the disintegration of the Ak Koyunlu, all of its territories including what is modern-day Iraqi Kurdistan passed to the Iranian Safavids in the earliest 16th century. Between the 16th and 17th century the area nowadays known as Iraqi Kurdistan, (formerly ruled by three principalities of Baban, Badinan, and Soran) was continuously passed back and forth between archrivals the Safavids and the Ottomans, until the Ottomans managed to decisively seize power in the region starting from the mid 17th century through the Ottoman–Safavid War (1623–39) and the resulting Treaty of Zuhab.Roemer (1989), p.
His solid performances for club and country caught the eye of Jozef Venglos, coach at Celtic. In November 1998 Mjällby signed for Celtic for a fee of around £1,200,000 and was given 35 as his squad number, which he retained throughout his time at Celtic. Mjällby arrived at the club one year after compatriot and international team mate Henrik Larsson and they departed the club the same year in 2004. He made his debut for the Scottish side in the famous 5–1 victory over archrivals Rangers in the role of central defence. The rest of season 1998–99 saw Mjällby play increasingly in the role of central defence, a role in which he grew to prominence. The 1999–2000 season saw Venglos move into the role of a scout with John Barnes coming in as head coach and Kenny Dalglish as director of football. Mjällby again took up his midfield role in Barnes' ill-fated 4–2–2–2 formation. He returned to his by now accustomed defensive role under Dalglish following the departure of Barnes in January 2000.
Australia, at the 1960 Rome Olympics. For the 1958 Asian Games, Pakistan were drawn against Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and archrivals India. They beat Japan 5–0 in their first match, then followed two consecutive victories over South Korea (8–0) and Malaysia (6–0). In the last match Pakistan drew 0–0 with India and clinched its first gold medal in an international competition.Pakistan at the Asian Games Author: Ijaz Chaudhry, Retrieved on 21 September 2014. They did not win the title on the field however, as East Bengal was punished for playing an unregistered player in the final. The 1960s were very successful for Mohun Bagan, as they captured Shield 5 times in that decade (twice as joint winners with East Bengal). Bengal Nagpur Railways (BNR) triumphed in a memorable Shield final in 1963, thus becoming first Indian institutional side to win the Shield. If the 1960s was dominated by Mohun Bagan, then the next decade belonged to their archrivals. East Bengal started the decade with a 1-0 win over Iran's Pas club, a victory that has gone down into Indian football folklore. From 1972 to 1976, East Bengal won an unprecedented 5 consecutive Shield titles. The zenith of this successful run came in 1975 Shield final when East Bengal toyed with Mohun Bagan to record a mammoth 5-0 derby win. By the late 1970s, Mohun Bagan had turned a corner after an unsuccessful 6-year spell. They captured a hattrick of titles from 1977 to 1979.
On November 13, the Rebels lost to Tennessee by a score of 32–6. They concluded the season on November 20 with a 28–11 loss to their in-state archrivals, Mississippi State, in Jackson, Mississippi. Cooper led the Rebels to a third straight 6–5 mark in 1977. They avenged their previous season's loss to Memphis by defeating the Tigers by a score of 7–3 on September 3. Ole Miss lost to #6 Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama by a count of 34–13. In one of the most memorable games in Rebel football history, Ole Miss upset Notre Dame, 20–13 in Mississippi Memorial Stadium on September 17 in Jackson, Mississippi. That loss was the Irish's lone setback of the 1977 campaign, as Notre Dame finished the season with an 11–1 record and claimed both the AP and UPI national titles. The celebration would quickly fade, as the Rebels lost their next three, beginning with a 27–19 loss to Southern Miss. On October 1, Cooper's team lost to Auburn 21-15 and on October 8 they were edged by Georgia 14–13.
Liu Churang was born in 881, during the reign of Emperor Xizong of Tang. It is known that he was from Cang Prefecture (滄州, in modern Cangzhou, Hebei), but all that is known about his family background were the names of his grandfather Liu Xin () and father Liu Yu (). Based on his geographic origin and subsequent service under Zhang Wanjin (), it appeared likely that he first came under Zhang's service around the time that Zhang, then a general of the post-Tang state of Yan, was serving as the commander of the army of Yan's Yichang Circuit (義昌, headquartered at Cang Prefecture) as, in 912, Zhang, angry over the violence and licentiousness of Yichang's military governor (Jiedushi) Liu Jiwei (劉繼威, a son of Yan's emperor Liu Shouguang) — including Liu Jiwei's (likely forcible) sexual relations with women at Zhang's household — killed Liu Jiwei and then submitted petitions of submission to Yan's rival states Later Liang and Jin (which were archrivals of each other). Later Liang's emperor Zhu Quanzhong subsequently changed Yichang's name to Shunhua () and commissioned Zhang as its military governor.
After sweeping aside the Baltimore Bandits in three games in the opening round of their first-ever playoffs, the Phantoms then met their now already archrivals, the Hershey Bears, in a most eventful best-of-seven second round set. After dropping the opening game 5–3, the Phantoms evened the series with a 7–4 victory in a most memorable Game 2 which featured, among other things, 350 minutes in penalties (171 to the Phantoms), 14 game misconducts, a pair of suspensions, a one-sided fight in which goaltender Neil Little knocked-out Bears' backup goaltender Sinuhe Wallinheimo and, most unusual of all, the appearance in the game of no less than five goalies (Jean-Francois Labbe, Wallinheimo and Sylvain Rodrigue for Hershey; Little and Dominic Roussel for Philadelphia). After dropping Game 6, 3–2, in a marathon affair at Hershey that ended when Blair Atcheynum slipped the Bears' 57th shot of the night (and the 121st overall by both teams) behind Little on a breakaway at :42 of the third overtime, the Phantoms' first season came to an end when Hershey edged them again, 3–2, in Game 7 at the Spectrum three nights later on May 14.
Burgess enjoyed a fantastic rookie season for the Warriors with 22 tries (17 Super League, 4 Challenge Cup, 1 World Club Challenge) from 24 games. He also marked his first taste of Super League playoff action with a try each in all three of Wigan's playoff contests. First he scored a length of the field try in Wigan's 57-4 week one demolition of the Huddersfield Giants on 18 September 2014 after catching a high ball close to his own try line and sprinted to the opposition try line to score. Then on 3 October 2014, he would score the winning try in the dying minutes of the semi final at home against the Warrington Wolves to break a 12-12 tie and send Wigan through to the 2014 Super League Grand Final with a 16-12 win. Then in the Grand Final on 11 October 2014 against archrivals St Helens he scored a try just before half time to edge Wigan 6-2 in front despite the Warriors being down to 12 men just two minutes in, but Saints would ultimately win the contest 14-6 at Old Trafford.

Bohemian Football Club (), more commonly referred to as Bohemians or Bohs, is a professional football club from Dublin, Ireland. Bohemians compete in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland, and are the oldest League of Ireland club in continuous existence. Bohs are the fourth most successful club in League of Ireland football history, having won the League of Ireland title 11 times, the FAI Cup 7 times, the League of Ireland Shield 6 times and the League of Ireland Cup 3 times. Prior to the establishment of the Football Association of Ireland and League of Ireland, Bohemians competed in the Irish Football League and Irish Cup, which were at the time all-Ireland competitions. During that period they won the Irish Cup once and finished runners up 5 times. They share the record for most wins in European competition with archrivals Shamrock Rovers and hold the record for Leinster Senior Cup wins with 32 cups claimed. Bohemians were founded on 6 September 1890 in the Phoenix Park Gate Lodge beside the North Circular Road entrance and played its first games in the Park's Polo Grounds. They were one of the founding members of the League of Ireland in 1921, after their withdrawal from the Irish Football League.
Market Square Arena was best known as the home of the Indiana Pacers of the American Basketball Association and National Basketball Association from 1974 to 1999. The first Pacers basketball game held in the arena was a preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks; attendance was 16,929. The first regular-season ABA game in the arena was held on October 18, 1974, against the San Antonio Spurs; the Pacers lost in double overtime, 129–121 in front of 7,473 fans. The first Pacers victory in Market Square Arena came on October 23 with a 122–107 win over the Spirits of St. Louis. The 1974–75 season ended for the Pacers with the ABA Finals played in Market Square Arena and Freedom Hall against their archrivals, the Kentucky Colonels.
