After a court hearing, Paul returns home to his wife, Maria, and watches her as she applies make-up at her vanity. The scene reminds him of the one Walter described leading up to Lucy's murder.

Tom Savini applies make-up to Ari Lehman, creating his vision of Jason Voorhees. Initially created by Victor Miller, Jason's final design was a combined effort by Miller, Ron Kurz, and Tom Savini. The name "Jason" is a combination of "Josh" and "Ian", Miller's two sons, and "Voorhees" was inspired by a girl that Miller knew at high school whose last name was Voorhees. Miller felt it was a "creepy-sounding name", which was perfect for his character.

Andrea applies make-up to her son Tucker and dresses Asa's hair into the Mohawk hairstyle seen on the film poster in preparation for the twins' Black Sabbath show while singing the song "Sweet Leaf". Several Black Sabbath songs are performed at the concert including "Sweet Leaf", "Paranoid" and "Iron Man".

At the dinner table, Sarah tells Patrick that she had a conversation with a lawyer over the phone, and it is likely that Joey will soon be taken away by CPS. The next morning, in an attempt to get Patrick to notice her, Sarah applies make-up and dons a seductive red dress. When Patrick shows disinterest and disdain towards his wife (by ignoring her and continuing to watch baseball), Sarah goes to the bathroom and removes her lipstick.
