After trying to lose her virginity to some random strangers, she is found by Naz, and they return to Curtzman's event at the hotel. They are met by Becca, whom Chuck has located on the internet. Priscilla tries to talk to Curtzman again but is insulted, and Becca, overhearing the conversation, becomes angry with her father. Curtzman then makes disparaging remarks about the women who are participating in the event: these are accidentally broadcast over the PA system, and when he appears on stage the crowd humiliate him and leave him naked, the incident being videotaped by Rudy.

A man (Fred Bear of cabaret act Bearlesque), wearing a large brown fur coat, appears on stage and starts singing a song parodying the National Anthem of Russia, with his hand held to his chest. Several members of the audience stand and emulate his gesture. One night, Perry escapes her dreadful reality by falling asleep and visits a vibrant candy land in search for her pet cat, Kitty Purry and also for her love interest, the Baker's Boy, played by Nick Zano. Katy appears on stage and starts performing "Teenage Dream" with her dancers, while wearing a white dress with spinning peppermints. "Hummingbird Heartbeat" and "Waking Up in Vegas" are performed next, the latter accompanied by a human slot machine, showgirls and an Elvis Presley impersonator.

Wade "Unique" Adams (Alex Newell) is a recurring character in seasons 3, 4 and 6, and a main character in season 5. She first appears in the third-season episode "Saturday Night Glee-ver" as a new featured singer in Vocal Adrenaline who is a fan of both Mercedes and Kurt despite being a competition rival. Wade is a young trans woman, who wants to perform in competition as Unique but she lacks the confidence, until Mercedes and Kurt persuade her. When she appears on stage in the Glee Club Regionals competition, Unique is a success—so much so that Vocal Adrenaline director Jesse St. James decides to build the group's Nationals routine around Unique, and to promote her as a show choir star.

The duo later expanded to a three piece when they added Bill Walsh to the live line-up. After Walsh left at the end of 2009 he was replaced by Howard, although Walsh still appears on-stage with the band from time to time on guitars and additional keyboards, and has produced several remixes for the band. The band are named after the North Atlantic Oscillation, a fluctuating change in the atmospheric pressure differential that exists between the Icelandic Low and Azores High. In November 2009 the band released an EP titled Callsigns EP. IncorruptiblesIn 1980, Gill Dougherty formed "Incorruptibles" with two ex-members of The Lords. In March 1981, "Les Incorruptibles" drew critical attention to themselves at a concert in Theatre du Taur with songs like "Les Soleils de La Nuit (Suns of The Night)", "Bande Dessinée (Cartoons)", "Dr Jackson"... The story of Incorruptibles, with whom he records three albums with Studio Deltour ("Predestine", "Annabelle" and "Moi je Doute"), ends as quickly as it had begun, and, from 1982 on, Gill performs under his own name and records three albums: "Envie de Tuer"(Need to Kill), "Monsieur Dupond" and "Interdit de Séjour", also under contract with Studio Deltour. At the same time, he appears on stage with Gringos, Evadés d'Alcatraz, Misérables, Classe X, and forms a band with Alain Gerard, previously drummer of Fils de Joie, and Jean Marc Leclerc of Evadé d'Alcatraz on bass.

Pete Peterson, who changed to this name in 1945, worked as a grip at RKO studios in Hollywood in the 1940s and was assigned to work on Mighty Joe Young (1949) lighting the miniature sets where technical creator Willis H. O'Brien and his first technician Ray Harryhausen were creating the stop-motion animation of the title character. Peterson became fascinated with the process and experimented at home in his spare time by placing tape on people’s arms and legs to gauge movement and filming the results to better understand the process of animation. As the production began to fall behind schedule Peterson volunteered his own services, and as second technician was responsible for several memorable scenes including the nightclub scene where Joe appears on stage for the first time and the escape in the truck. The film won the 1950 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.

Valentine is a ghost character in Romeo and Juliet. In act 1, scene 2, Romeo assists an illiterate Capulet servant by reading the list of guests for Lord Capulet's feast, and among the "dozen or so named guests with their unnamed but listed daughters, beauteous sisters, and lovely nieces" is listed "Mercutio and his brother Valentine". Mercutio appears on stage regularly until his death in act 3, scene 1 and is "almost as central a character as Juliet or Romeo, for his death is the keystone of the plot's structure", but Valentine is only mentioned the once in the guest list. The only time it is possible for the character to appear on stage is as one of the crowd of guests at the feast in act 1, scene 5, but if he is, there is nothing in the text to suggest his presence.

The term "Dub Poetry" was coined by influential Dub artist Linton Kwesi Johnson in 1976, and further popularized by equally influential artist Oku Onoura, which consists of spoken word over reggae rhythms, originally found on the backing or "version" side of a 12 or 6 inch vinyl record. Unlike dee jaying (also known as toasting), which also features the use of the spoken word, the dub poet's performance is normally prepared, rather than the extemporized chat of the dancehall dee jay. In musical setting, the dub poet usually appears on stage with a band performing music specifically written to accompany each poem, rather than simply perform over the top of dub plates, or riddims, in the dancehall fashion. Musicality is built into dub poems, yet, dub poets generally perform without backing music, delivering chanted speech with pronounced rhythmic accentuation and dramatic stylization of gesture.
