The eight ships were ordered under the provisions of the 1889 Naval Defence Act as an improved design of the preceding s. They were to displace 1000 tons more than the Apollos, and were to have improved sea-keeping abilities, and heavier and better placed armament. Morimoto followed his passion of fishing and became a competitive angler (he still writes for Japan's largest fishing magazine, Basser Magazine) and Maekawa joined The Apollos (a well-known Japanese funk band) as session bassist. Rivoire was born in Riocaud, France, and on November 21, 1715, emigrated to his uncle Simon's house on the Isle of Guernsey. On November 27, 2018, Gilbert was drafted by the Orlando Apollos in the Alliance of American Football's quarterback draft. He played for the team during the inaugural 2019 AAF season. He led a botanical expedition to the Caucasus in 1802 with his friend botanist Friedrich August Marschall von Bieberstein. In 1797, he was elected a foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
He then threw a 26-yard completion to Jalin Marshall to the 8 yard line with less than 10 seconds left in regulation. But as the team was scrambling to line up and spike the ball, the Apollos were penalized for a false start. A ten-second runoff was administered, and the game clock expired.

In April 2018, Spurrier was named the head coach of the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), a new spring football league that was slated to begin play in February 2019. Woodward was born on June 6, 1856 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of the eight children of John Vanderbilt Woodward and Wealthy Ann York Woodward. Her grandfather, Apollos Woodward, served as an aide to George Washington during the Whiskey Rebellion. The Houston Apollos were a minor professional ice hockey team based in Houston, Texas. They played in the Central Hockey League from 1965 to 1969, and then from 1979 to 1981. From 1965 to 1969 they were a farm team of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens pulled the team out and moved it to Montreal, where they became the Montreal Voyageurs of the American Hockey League.

Scholars of the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School are "almost certain" that Papias is referencing John Mark.D. A. Carson, Douglas J. Moo and Leon Morris, An Introduction to the New Testament (Apollos, 1992), 93. Modern mainstream Bible scholars discard Papias's information as unreliable.

Bob Sanders is an American football coach. He was previously the defensive coordinator for the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football (AAF). He coached the Buffalo Bills from 2009–2012 after coaching for four years with the Green Bay Packers, four years with the Miami Dolphins, and after 11 years at the University of Florida. He was let go by the Packers following the 2008 season.

Willie Bernard Jackson, Jr. (born August 16, 1971) is a former American professional football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins. Akeem Bernard Hunt (born February 22, 1993) is an American football running back for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He played college football at Purdue University. There are records of John being arrested by the Emperor Domitian (reigned 81 -96 AD). He was released late in his life and returned to Ephesus, where it is thought that he wrote his Gospel. Tradition says that the Virgin Mary lived in Ephesus near to John. Apollos, a Jew from Alexandria who was a disciple of John the Baptist, arrived in Ephesus and met with Aquila and Priscilla.
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League was founded in 1966 as the West Kootenay Junior Hockey League. Five teams joined the league in its first year and started play in the 1969-70 season. They included the Trail Jr. Smoke Eaters, the Nelson Plaza Oilers, the Castlegar Apollos, the Grand Forks Border Bruins, and the Rossland Warriors. The Smoke Eaters won the inaugural league championship, advancing to the provincial championship.

On February 17, 2019 against the San Antonio Commanders, Johnson had a staggering 7 catches for 192 yards and 1 touchdown. Johnson holds the record for the most receiving yards in a game in AAF history. Johnson led the AAF in receiving the entire season, totaling 687 yards receiving and five touchdowns on 45 catches in eight games.
He developed instruments for the Apollos 15, 16, and 17 lunar missions, the latter being part of the ALSEP surface package. The goal was to detect and determine the composition of the lunar atmosphere. There is an atmosphere on the moon composed mainly of noble gases and hydrogen, but the pressure is lower than that in the best vacuum systems on earth. His instrument flew on the Pioneer Venus Multiprobe mission to Venus in 1978.
Todd Washington (born July 19, 1976) is an American football coach and former offensive lineman who played eight seasons in the National Football League. In July 2019, Washington has been named an offensive assistant for the New York Jets. Washington had been named the tight ends/tackles coach for the Washington, D.C. XFL team in June 2019. Previously, he was the offensive line coach for the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football.
Sanders worked under Steve Spurrier for 11 years at Florida. He also worked under veteran defensive coordinator Jim Bates for 5 years, from 2001–2004 at Miami coaching linebackers, and in 2005, as defensive ends coach in Green Bay. On February 2, 2015, it was announced that Sanders had been hired as the linebackers coach with the Arizona Cardinals. In 2019, Sanders reunited with Spurrier as the defensive coordinator of the Apollos.
In 2018, he signed with the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football. On November 27, Appleby was selected by the Orlando Apollos in the third round of the AAF QB Draft. He was a backup behind Garrett Gilbert until the league folded in April 2019. Appleby tried out for the XFL in a summer showcase on July 3, 2019, but was not selected in the 2020 XFL Draft in October 2019.
There was one aluminium prototype completed by Intermeccanica. Apollos Hitchcock Depew () is a village in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 15,303 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village is named for Chauncey Mitchell Depew (1892), the president of the New York Central Railroad and later a US senator (1899-1911) who was one of the original investors who bought the land for the village which was incorporated in 1894.

Kaula was most notable for his contributions to geodesy, including using early earth satellites to produce gravity maps of Earth. He was a participant in several NASA missions, as a team leader on Apollos 15, 16 and 17. The National Academies Press called Kaula "the father of space-based geodesy".

From 2011 to 2012, Jeffcoat coached the San Jose State defensive line. In January 2013, he joined the University of Colorado Buffaloes as defensive line coach under recently hired head coach Mike MacIntyre. In November 2018, Jeffcoat was hired by Steve Spurrier as defensive line coach for the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football. In June 2019, Jeffcoat was hired by Bob Stoops as defensive line coach for the Dallas Renegades of the new XFL.

One such woman was St. Priscilla, a Jewish missionary from Rome, who may have helped found the Christian community at Corinth. She traveled as a missionary with her husband and St Paul, and tutored the Jewish intellectual Apollos. Others include the four daughters of Philip the Evangelist, from Caesarea, Palestine, who were said to be prophets and to have hosted St Paul in their home.

He played college football at the University of Miami, and was signed by the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Gunter also spent time in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers, the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), and the DC Defenders of the XFL.

Scott and Irwin landed on July 30 near Hadley Rille, and spent just under two days, 19 hours on the surface. In over 18 hours of EVA, they collected about of lunar material. Apollo 16 landed in the Descartes Highlands on April 20, 1972.

By 9pm all crew members had left the British ship, which was then abandoned to the tides. The Prussian ship reached Yarmouth on 11 January, followed three days later by the cutter. A Royal Navy court martial was established to examine the reasons for the loss of the ship. Apollos pilot, John Bruce was found to have shown "great want of skill" in the execution of his duties, and he was dismissed forthwith from naval service.
The hamlet was named after the Paul Smith's Hotel (formally known as the Saint Regis House), founded in 1859 by Apollos "Paul" Smith as one of the first wilderness resorts in the Adirondacks. Paul Smith's College was built on the site of the hotel after the hotel burned down in 1930. It was funded by the estate of Smith's son Phelps, who died in 1937. In December 2018, the revival of the XFL announced that it would return to Florida. Because the Alliance of American Football's Orlando Apollos already laid claim to the Orlando market, the XFL opted to place the new team in Tampa, Florida, 80 miles southwest of Orlando and connected to that city by way of Interstate 4. The league was exploring relocating the Vipers to Orlando shortly before the league suspended operations and went bankrupt in April 2020.
The band originally formed when three members of the Ascots, Richard X. Heyman (drums), Mike Caruso (bass), and Willy Kirchofer (guitar) were joined by two members of the Apollos, Myke Scavone (vocals, harp), and Mike Farina (guitar). Mike Waddell is an American professional sports executive who is the President and Alternate Governor of the ECHL's Allen Americans. He is also the Founder of BRENTWOOD PARTNERS, LLC, a sports consulting firm, where he is currently of counsel. Previously Waddell was President of the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football. Along with Head Coach Steve Spurrier and General Manager Tim Ruskell, Waddell was part of the leadership team that pushed the Apollos to an Alliance-best 7-1 record, and which averaged over 20,000 fans per home game at Spectrum Stadium, and sold over 5,400 season tickets. Following the AAF's folding, Waddell also worked with World TeamTennis on a contract basis through BRENTWOOD PARTNERS, LLC to provide counsel to the Orlando Storm in advance of the team's second season in 2020. Waddell relocated to Orlando in 2018 after serving as Vice President at Richmond Raceway in NASCAR from 2016 to 2018, where he oversaw the reformation of the ticketing, marketing and communications units, and founded the first- ever NASCAR track owned eSports team.
Earl James Okine (born January 4, 1990) is an American football defensive end for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He attended the University of Florida and signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Okine has also been a member of the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, the Arena Football League's Orlando Predators, the Fall Experimental Football League's Brooklyn Bolts, the NFL's Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions, and the AAF's Orlando Apollos.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Hicke's hockey career began with the Regina Pats, where he played junior hockey. After five years, Hicke's first professional appearance was with the Houston Apollos of the Central Hockey League (CHL). In Hicke's first three professional seasons, he scored 45 goals and 63 assists in 139 games. Originally a part of the Montreal Canadiens organization, Hicke was traded to the Oakland Seals in the deal that included the draft pick the Canadiens used to draft Guy Lafleur.
Right after college, Szolack tried out for the Scranton Apollos in the Eastern Professional Basketball League, but he was the last cut and did not make the roster. He came upon the Washington Generals when he went to see the Globetrotters at the Spectrum in Philadelphia and obtained Red Klotz' phone number. Szolack spent the next year touring the world and playing against (losing to) the Globetrotters. They played seven days a week and sometimes played twice in a day.
On April 7, 2018, Orlando was announced as the first Alliance team along with its coach, Steve Spurrier. On September 20, the league announced four inaugural eastern franchises' names and logos including the Orlando Apollos. On December 4, 2018, the team and iHeart Media announced its broadcasting arrangements. The final 52-man roster was set on January 30, 2019. The team's first game was at home, Spectrum Stadium, against the Atlanta Legends on February 9, 2019, where they won 40–6.
On a snowy night in Salt Lake City, Orlando beat the Stallions 20–11 to remain unbeaten. After taking a 6–3 lead at halftime, the Apollos scored two touchdowns in the second half to secure the victory. In the third quarter, quarterback Garrett Gilbert threw a 20-yard touchdown to Donteeya Dye Jr. followed by a 2-point conversion pass from running back D’Ernest Johnson to Sean Price. In the fourth quarter, running back Akeem Hunt scored a 2-yard touchdown run.
There is no surviving record for the early years of Dioscorus. His father Apollos was an entrepreneur and local official.Keenan 1984b passim; Kuehn 1995, pp. 54–58. Gilbert is also the father of former Texas Christian University Horned Frogs tight end Griffin Gilbert.

Zenas the Lawyer () was a first-century Christian mentioned in Paul the Apostle's Epistle to Titus in the New Testament. In Titus 3:13, Paul writes: "Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them" (KJV). His name is a shortened form of "Zenodoros", meaning "gift of Zeus". By tradition, he is often counted as one of the unnamed seventy disciples sent out by Jesus into the villages of Galilee, as mentioned in .
On March 2, 2000, Houston NFL 2002 announced that the team name search had been narrowed down to five choices: Apollos, Bobcats, Stallions, Texans, and Wildcatters. The list of names was determined after several months of research conducted jointly by Houston NFL 2002 and NFL Properties. An online survey regarding the name generated more than 65,000 responses in just seven days. On September 6, 2000, the NFL's 32nd franchise was officially christened the Houston Texans before thousands at a downtown rally in Houston.
When Child arrived in Atlanta during the 1972 NASL season, he promptly scored eight goals in twelve games and was named a first team All Star. The Chiefs then purchased Child's contract from Villa. In 1973, the team became known as the Atlanta Apollos. In 1974, the Apollo traded Child to the expansion San Jose Earthquakes where he led the league in scoring with fifteen goals and six assists. In 1975, the NASL ran an indoor tournament during the 1974-1975 off season.

Luke Prestridge (born September 17, 1956) is a former punter with a 6-year career in the National Football League. He was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 1982 season as a member of the Denver Broncos. In high school, he was the quarterback and punter for the Sharpstown Apollos in Houston, Texas (class of 1975). 's NFL off-season, Luke Prestridge held at the Broncos franchise records for punts in a game (12; tied with 2 others), and career post-season yards per punt (45.7).
Ernest Alfred Linton Wakely (born November 27, 1940) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Wakely was a goaltender in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues. Wakely also played for the Quebec Aces, the Cleveland Barons (AHL), Winnipeg Jets, the San Diego Mariners, the Cincinnati Stingers, the Houston Aeros, the Houston Apollos, and the Birmingham Bulls of the World Hockey Association. Wakely was goaltender for the 1958–59 Memorial Cup winning Winnipeg Braves of the MJHL.
Ferguson played junior ice hockey with the Montreal Junior Canadiens for the 1964–65 and 1965–66 seasons. Ferguson moved to the Montreal Canadiens farm team, the Houston Apollos in the Central Professional Hockey League for the 1966–67 season. Ferguson then played for the Cleveland Barons in the American Hockey League in the 1967–68 season. In his rookie season in the National Hockey League with the Oakland Seals, Ferguson set the Seals single-season record for goals; he scored 34 during the 1968–69 season.
Lucian dropped out of music entirely after Suspiria split but appears to have pursued a career in art. Tansley went on to provide a number of remixes for Cleopatra whilst also forming a new band Intra-Venus with vocalist Apollos. Intra-Venus extended the electronic sound of Suspiria that typified the heavily dance infused synthpop and ebm that had come to dominate the dark underground in the early 2000s. After two releases and a smattering of high-profile live performances Intra- Venus broke up in 2003.

Apollos stem was damaged, while Wakeful suffered buckled plates from the impact by Apollo and a badly damaged bow from the collision with the caisson. She was paid off and returned to the Reserve in 1961, was put on the Disposal List the next year, and sold for breaking-up by Hughes Bolckow at Blyth, Northumberland, where she arrived in November 1962.

Paul Smith's College was founded through a bequest of Phelps Smith, son of Apollos Smith, whose Paul Smith's Hotel, built in 1859, was the most famous wilderness resort of its era. The first class was matriculated in 1946, and was loosely based on the original hotel's business model. Along with the money to start a school, Phelps also left more than 20,000 acres (80 km²) of land. Paul Smith's is located northwest of Saranac Lake, N.Y., in the hamlet of Paul Smiths in the Town of Brighton.
Bounce House was the home of the Orlando Apollos during the first and only 2019 season of the Alliance of American Football. Bounce House's current name comes from the facility's longtime nickname The Bounce House, as it was found to be susceptible to considerable shaking when its crowd jumps in unison. Although it was stated that the stadium was structurally sound and that this effect would not cause long-term damage to the facility, measures were undertaken following the stadium's inaugural season to reduce these effects.

However, the Giants would go on to win the game in overtime. Trey Burton, who signed with the Bears during the 2018 offseason, also contributed to the play. Steve Spurrier called the "Orlando Special" during the inaugural game of the Alliance of American Football; it was a success, propelling the Orlando Apollos to a 40–6 win over the Atlanta Legends. On September 21, 2019, the Pittsburgh Panthers college football team called the "Pitt Special" during a matchup against the then-unbeaten UCF Knights, leading the Panthers to a 35–34 victory over the Knights.
He then joined the Ascots in 1965 with another member of the Apollos, guitarist Mike Farina. The band toured the United States opening for bands such as the Vagrants (which featured Leslie West on guitar) and the Hassles (which featured Billy Joel). They changed their name to The Doughboys in 1966 and secured a contract with Bell Records after winning a battle of the bands contest. Scavone was dismissed from the Doughboys in early 1968 when they decided to concentrate on instrumental music before disbanding at the end of that year.
Apollos (Paul) Smith (1825–1912) was an American hunting and fishing guide from Vermont who founded the Saint Regis House in the Town of Brighton, New York, in the Adirondack Mountains. It was known universally as Paul Smith's Hotel, one of the first wilderness resorts in the Adirondacks. In its day, it was the most fashionable of the many great Adirondack hotels, patronized by American presidents, celebrities, and the power elite of the latter half of the 19th century. It was a large operation, with 255 rooms, stables, and many other amenities.
The Orlando Apollos were a professional American football franchise based in Orlando, Florida, and one of the eight members of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), which began play in February 2019. The team played its home games at Spectrum Stadium on the campus of the University of Central Florida. They were coached by Heisman Trophy winner and former college and National Football League (NFL) head coach Steve Spurrier. NFL front office veteran Tim Ruskell was the general manager and longtime college athletics executive Michael P. Waddell was the team president.
Trailing 31–22 with 5 minutes remaining in regulation, Orlando rallied to beat Memphis by the score of 34–31. Garrett Gilbert threw an 18-yard touchdown to Charles Johnson with 4:49 left to trim the score to 31–28. On the ensuing drive, Memphis fumbled away the snap on a punt, giving Orlando the ball inside the 30 yard line. A few plays later, controversy erupted when Express coach Mike Singletary ran out on the field protesting what appeared to be a delay of game that was not called against the Apollos.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Marvin Hall signed with the Bears on March 15; a fast player, he recorded ten receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown, along with 616 kickoff return yards in 2018. On April 12, kicker Elliott Fry, who was a member of the Alliance of American Football's Orlando Apollos until the league's shutdown ten days prior, was signed to a three-year deal. A month later, on May 8, the Bears picked up Jets linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis, who played in Kansas City with Nagy in 2017.
He also spent time with the Houston Apollos and was the first coach of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in 1969–70, but is best known as the first coach of the Edmonton Oilers in the first season of the WHA. He was hired by Oilers owner Bill Hunter, who had also been the owner of the Oil Kings when Kinasewich coached for them. On January 25, 1976, Scranton Apollos player Charlie Criss set an EBA record for points scored in a game with 72. The Scranton Miners were resurrected in 1993 by an investment group led by attorneys George Daniel and Anthony Daniel. The Miners were charter members of the Atlantic Basketball Association and again played at the Scranton CYC for 3 seasons The Miners captured the league's regular season title in 1993-94 and in 1994-95. The Miners defeated the Trenton Flames to win the 1994-95 ABA championship.
An outer Earth-grazer asteroid is an asteroid that is normally beyond Earth's orbit, but which can get closer to the Sun than Earth's aphelion (1.0167 AU), and not closer than Earth's perihelion (0.9833 AU); i.e., the asteroid's perihelion is between Earth's perihelion and aphelion. Outer Earth- grazer asteroids are split between Amor and Apollo asteroids. Using the definition of Amor asteroids above, "Earth grazers" that never get closer to the Sun than Earth does (at any point along its orbit) are Amors, whereas those that do are Apollos.
The first points in AAF regular season history were scored by kicker Younghoe Koo of the Atlanta Legends, who made a 38-yard field goal against the Orlando Apollos. The first touchdown came in the same game with Orlando quarterback Garrett Gilbert connecting with Jalin Marshall for a 16-yard score. The first shutout was recorded by the Birmingham Iron when they defeated the Memphis Express, 26–0, in Week 1. The first onside conversion (see Rules section, below) was attempted during Week 3, with Atlanta successfully completing a 48-yard pass against Birmingham.

Kennedy announced a goal of landing a man on the moon by the end of the decade. It was accomplished on July 20, 1969, by the landing of astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, with Michael Collins orbiting above during the Apollo 11 mission. Five other Apollo missions also landed astronauts on the Moon, the last one in 1972.
On February 7, 2019, two days before their first game, head coach Coyle announced that Vick would be unable to fill his role as offensive coordinator and would instead act as an advisor to the team. Rich Bartel, who replaced Vick as de facto offensive coordinator and play-caller, abruptly resigned two days before the team's home opener, prompting the team to hire Ken Zampese to lead the offense. The team's first game was at Spectrum Stadium against the Orlando Apollos on Saturday, February 9, 2019, where they lost 40–6.
An accident at sea in late 1798 forced Apollo back to port in Great Yarmouth and left her with a depleted crew. A capstan pawl, or crossbar, had broken while the crew were raising the anchor, and the weight of the anchor and chain caused the remaining pawls to turn sharply as the anchor ran back out. Around thirty men were injured after being struck by the pawls.Grocott 1997, p67 Halkett gave orders for a prompt return to port, where the injured men were discharged from Apollos service and entrusted to local medical care.

The Omaha Knights was the name of three minor league professional ice hockey teams from 1959 to 1965 and from 1966 to 1975, based in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Ak-Sar-Ben Arena. The Knights were founded in 1959 as members of the International Hockey League. Following the 1962-63 season the team moved to Toledo, Ohio, becoming the Toledo Blades. A new Knights team joined the Central Professional Hockey League for the 1963-64 season. This second iteration of the Knights moved to Houston to become the Houston Apollos after the 1964-65 season.
Filmmaker Stanley Kubrick is accused of having produced much of the footage for Apollos 11 and 12, presumably because he had just directed 2001: A Space Odyssey, which is partly set on the Moon and featured advanced special effects. It has been claimed that when 2001 was in post-production in early 1968, NASA secretly approached Kubrick to direct the first three Moon landings. The launch and splashdown would be real but the spacecraft would stay in Earth orbit and fake footage broadcast as "live from the Moon." No evidence was offered for this theory, which overlooks many facts.
As a youth, Drouin played in the 1961 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with Murdochville. Drafted in the third round of the 1966 NHL Amateur Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, 17th overall. Drouin played for their junior team, the Montreal Junior Canadiens of the Ontario Hockey Association in the 1966 season, playing in 47 games and scoring a sparkling 32 goals and 36 assists. The following season Drouin turned pro with the Houston Apollos of the Central Hockey League, scoring 68 points in 60 games and earning his first NHL playing time with the Canadiens in spot duty.
In 1988, Apollos Royal Navy career came to an end when she was decommissioned on 7 July and sold to Pakistan on 15 July. The ship was renamed PNS Zulfiqar, and commissioning in the Pakistan Navy on 14 October 1988. From 1991–93 she underwent a major refit and her 20 mm guns and Seacat system were replaced by twin 25 mm mounts, and her Westland Wasp was replaced by an SA 319B Alouette III helicopter. Zulfiqar continued in service for 18 years with the Pakistan Navy until 29 October 2006 when she was decommissioned into training.
He would work for several Houston radio stations, including KLOL and KPRC until late 1981. From Houston, Barrett's career took him from the local level to the national stage with Fox, ABC, and CBS. Barrett also worked for multiple sports franchises in the Houston area, including the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Oilers, Houston Aeros, Houston Apollos, and the University of Houston, his alma mater. In December 1981, Barrett began working for ABC Radio News and would remain with the network for eleven years before moving to ESPN Radio for two years, beginning in December 1992.
In August 2018, Mettenberger signed with the newly-formed Alliance of American Football's Memphis Express. Later on November 27, Mettenberger was drafted by the Express in the fourth round of the 2019 AAF QB Draft. Mettenerger opened the 2019 AAF season as the third- string quarterback behind Christian Hackenberg and Brandon Silvers. For the third game of the year against the Orlando Apollos, he became the backup after Silvers suffered an injury, and entered the game during the second half to replace a struggling Hackenberg; despite losing 21–17, Mettenberger threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Orlando is the home city of two major league professional sports teams — the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer (MLS). Also, the Orlando Pride has competed in the National Women's Soccer League since 2016. Orlando also has two minor league professional teams — the Orlando Solar Bears ECHL ice hockey team, and the Orlando Anarchy of the Women's Football Alliance. From 1991 to 2016, it was also home to the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League and during 2019 it was home of the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football.
Revere was born in the North End of Boston on December 21, 1734, according to the Old Style calendar then in use, or January 1, 1735, in the modern calendar. His father, a French Huguenot born Apollos Rivoire came to Boston at the age of 13 and was apprenticed to the silversmith John Coney. By the time he married Deborah Hitchborn, a member of a long-standing Boston family that owned a small shipping wharf, in 1729, Rivoire had anglicized his name to Paul Revere. Their son, Paul Revere, was the third of 12 children and eventually the eldest surviving son.
The Scranton Miners, known as the Scranton Apollos from 1970 to 1977, were a professional basketball team based in Scranton, Pennsylvania that was a member of the American Basketball League and the Eastern Basketball Association. Arthur Pachter was the owner and coach for many years. The team was previously known as the Jersey City Atoms before moving to Scranton in 1946. They played in the ABL until 1953. After a two-year hiatus, they were resurrected in the middle of the 1954-55 season in the Eastern Professional Basketball League as a replacement for the Carbondale Celtics.
By the end of 1993, the UAAI venture cars realised sales of 21 percent at best when compared to the models retailed by their original manufactures. Nova production in 1992 totalled 3,697 units (16.6 percent of the Toyota Corolla figure); 3,016 Novas were manufactured in 1993 (12.6 percent), and in 1994 production amounted to 3,581 units (16.5 percent).Fujimoto (1998), p. 26. Apollo production in 1992 totalled 4,490 units (17.5 percent of the Toyota Camry figure, excluding exports); 5,314 Apollos were manufactured in 1993 (18.2 percent), and in 1994 production amounted to 5,519 units (14.7 percent).
The first settlers in this area arrived around 1815 by way of the Northwest Bay Road, a very crude wagon path linking Westport on Lake Champlain with Hopkinton in St. Lawrence County. The Town of Brighton was set aside from the town of Duane in 1858 when settlers living in southern Duane complained loudly enough about being left out of town business discussions due to the long distance and time involved. James M. Wardner was elected its first supervisor. Apollos "Paul" Smith arrived in 1859 and gradually built up a hotel in the community that bears his name.
Although not officially announced, the original backup crew consisted of Fred W. Haise (CDR), William R. Pogue (CMP) and Gerald P. Carr (LMP), who were targeted for the prime crew assignment on Apollo 19.Slayton & Cassutt 1994, p. 262 However, after the cancellations of Apollos 18 and 19 were finalized in September 1970 this crew would not rotate to a lunar mission as planned. Subsequently, Roosa and Mitchell were recycled to serve as members of the backup crew after returning from Apollo 14, while Pogue and Carr were reassigned to the Skylab program where they flew on Skylab 4.
A proposal for this kind of notation was advocated by Rodger C. Young, "When Did Solomon Die?" Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society 46 (2003) 591. Young used a small "n" after the year when designating a Nisan-based year, such as was used in the northern kingdom. Unaware of Young's previous work but also seeing the need for an unambiguous notation, Daiqing Yuan proposed an identical convention to remove ambiguity and to be consistent with the chronological methods used by the ancient scribes, except that Yuan capitalized the "n" and the "t" (Daiqing Apollos Yuan, "A Proposed Chronology for Judges," unpublished ThM.
The novella centers on an amateur theatrical presentation being given by a wealthy provincial landowner named Apollos Diletaev, and the involvement in this presentation of a gifted comic actor named Rymov. Diletaev convinces Rymov to participate, even though he's personally unpopular in the town due to his alcoholism and poor work record. Rymov is also the only low-born person selected, the rest being members of the wealthy gentry selected by Diletaev. The rehearsals go well, and Rymov impresses the other actors with his skill in playing comic roles and making the small rehearsal audience laugh.
A deal was made and the first Apollos were built by early 1963 by Brown's International Motor Cars. Intermeccanica hand formed and trimmed the steel bodies in Turin, Italy, and then shipped them by sea to Oakland, California, where the drive train was installed. The prototype's design was by Milt Brown's friend, Ron Plescia, but the nose was too long and the rear vision limited, so Reisner commissioned former Bertone stylist Franco Scaglione to revise it. The finished car, sold by Brown's International Motorcars of Oakland, was well received and had famous owners such as Pat Boone.
Cousins helped to restore East Lake Golf Club which is now the permanent home of the Tour Championship In April 1968, Cousins purchased the Hawks basketball team and moved them from St Louis to Atlanta, renaming them the Atlanta Hawks. At the time Atlanta did not have pro-ball facilities, but Cousins was building a local arena complex. Cousins also owned the Atlanta Flames until he sold them in 1980 for approximately $16 million to a consortium from Calgary. He purchased the original Atlanta Chiefs soccer club of the North American Soccer League from the Braves in 1973, during this time they were renamed the Atlanta Apollos.
Several planned missions of the Apollo crewed Moon landing program of the 1960s and 1970s were canceled for a variety of reasons, including changes in technical direction, the Apollo 1 fire, hardware delays, and budget limitations. After the landing by Apollo 12, Apollo 20, which would have been the final crewed mission to the Moon, was canceled to allow Skylab to launch as a "dry workshop" (assembled on the ground in an unused S-IVB Saturn IB second stage). The next two missions, Apollos 18 and 19, were later canceled after the Apollo 13 incident and further budget cuts. Two Skylab missions also ended up being canceled.
Each falls sports a hydroelectric dam today, hence Great Falls is nicknamed "the Electric City". Currently there are two undeveloped parts of their portage route; these are included within the Great Falls Portage, a National Historic Landmark. The city is home to the C. M. Russell Museum Complex, the University of Providence, Great Falls College Montana State University, Apollos University, Giant Springs, the Roe River (which is claimed to be the world's shortest river), the Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind, the Great Falls Voyagers minor league baseball team, and is adjacent to Malmstrom Air Force Base. The local newspaper is the Great Falls Tribune.
Geographical polymorphism is where geographical isolation causes a divergence of a species into different morphs. A good example is the Indian white admiral (Limenitis procris) which has five forms, each geographically separated from the other by large mountain ranges. An even more dramatic showcase of geographical polymorphism is the Apollo butterfly (Parnassius apollo). Due to the Apollos living in small local populations, having no contact with each other, but because of the strong stenotopic species and weak migration ability interbreeding between populations of one species practically does not occur; they form over 600 different morphs, with the size of spots on the wings of which varies greatly.

After that, things moved fast for the yet-to-be-named football team. Focus groups were formed across the state to determine the image and direction for the franchise. NFL Properties and team officials began working on the identity, name and logo and the front office began to take shape with the hiring of former Washington Redskins General Manager Charley Casserly as Executive Vice President/General Manager in January 2000. During this time, a handful of team names were trademarked for potential use by the franchise, including Apollos, Bobcats, Challengers, Colt 45's, Energy, Hurricanes, Roughnecks, Roughriders, Roustabouts, Stallions, Stormcats, Texans, Texians, Toros, Wildcats, Wildcatters, and Wranglers.
Tim Ruskell (born 1956) is an American football executive. He last served as the General Manager of the Orlando Apollos, one of the eight charter teams was the Alliance of American Football. Ruskell has previously worked for the NFL, including positions as the team president and director of player personnel for the Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, and Tennessee Titans. Ruskell was born in Yokohama, Japan where his father was stationed in the United States Army, but spent his high school and college years in the Tampa Bay, Florida area and graduated with a degree in communications from the University of South Florida in 1978.
Sketch of a circumlunar free return trajectory (not to scale) In some cases it is possible to design a TLI to target a free return trajectory, so that the spacecraft will loop around behind the Moon and return to Earth without need for further propulsive maneuvers. Such free return trajectories add a margin of safety to human spaceflight missions, since the spacecraft will return to Earth "for free" after the initial TLI burn. The Apollos 8, 10 and 11 began on a free return trajectory, while the later missions used a functionally similar hybrid trajectory, in which a midway course correction is required to reach the moon.
Grant was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick. After a fine junior career with the Peterborough Petes and a season and a half in the minor leagues with the Houston Apollos, Grant made the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens in 1967–68, playing 22 regular season games and 10 playoff games. Grant helped Montreal win the Stanley Cup in 1968. He was then acquired by the Minnesota North Stars, and in his 1968–69 rookie season with the club won the NHL's Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's most outstanding rookie player, thus becoming one of only four players who won the Stanley Cup the season before winning the Calder Trophy.
The AAF folded in April 2019 with its first season incomplete; the University of Central Florida had failed to invoice the AAF for the lease of its stadium facilities or expenses for staff, leading media to speculate that UCF had lost more than $1 million of revenue from the deal.UCF loses over $1 million in stadium agreement with Apollos, AAF April 3, 2019. In 1960 Griffin left active duty and began his space career as a systems engineer/flight controller at the USAF Satellite Test Center in Sunnyvale, California. In 1964 Griffin joined NASA in Houston as a flight controller in Mission Control, specializing in guidance, navigation and control systems during Project Gemini.
