Beehive rounds were also created for recoilless anti- tank weapons: the 90 mm and 106 mm mounted on the M50 Ontos.ONTOS mounting six 106mm recoilless rifle, the world's biggest shot gun APERS-T rounds were available for 90mm gun on M48 tanks and the 152mm gun on the M551 Sheridan armored reconnaissance/airborne assault vehicle.

After the Vietnam War the 105mm tank gun M68 was also provided APER-T ammunition M494. APERS-T rounds in 40×46 mm were also available for the M79, M203, and M320 grenade launchers. Subsequently, it was reported that the USSR had developed similar rounds for 122 mm and 152 mm artillery for use in indirect fire.

In 2006 they made a cover album with songs of The Apers with bands like Peter Pan Speedrock, Travoltas, El Pino & the Volunteers etc. On this album Face Tomorrow made a cover of the song "You Can't Change The World". In October 2008, the band's third full- length album In the Dark was released on Excelsior Recordings.

The flechette rounds were developed under a contract administered by Picatinny Arsenal and let to the Whirlpool Corporation in April 1957. The contract was named the "Beehive Program" referring to the way the flechettes were compartmentalized and stacked, looking like the traditional image of a conical beehive. It was commonly assumed by users in the service that the term referred to a supposed 'buzzing' sound its darts made when flying through the air. The first example was the 105mm howitzer M546 anti-personnel tracer (APERS-T), first fired in combat in 1966 and thereafter used extensively in the Vietnam War. Intended for direct fire against enemy troops, the M546 was direct fired from a near horizontally leveled 105 mm howitzerM546 APERS-T 105-mm and ejected 8000 flechettes during flight by a mechanical time fuze.

The press was enthusiastic, and praised the band for its musicianship (de Volkskrant). Dutch Excelsior Recordings, home of Johan, Daryll-Ann and GEM, signed the band immediately. El Pino & the Volunteers played at Club 3voor12 that February, recorded an Apers song for a tribute album in March, and performed at Motel Mozaique in April. And, in May, the band performed at the 10th anniversary party of Excelsior Recordings, together with several of their labelmates.

The Apers are a Dutch pop punk band who formed in Rotterdam in 1996. They have released their first three albums on Stardumb Records, then released their 2007 album Reanimate My Heart on Sonic Rendezvous Records in Europe, and Insubordination Records in the USA, before moving on to Asian Man Records. They have played about 700 shows all over Europe and the USA. The band is often compared to Screeching Weasel, not lastly because of frontman Kevin Aper's snotty vocal delivery, reminiscent of Ben Weasel.

The band embarked on a month-long U.S. tour in the fall of 2010 with Asian Man label-mates The Queers and Kepi Ghoulie. The lineup featured Adam Woronoff of The Leftovers on drums and Corey Weirdo of The Varsity Weirdos on rhythm guitar. In May 2011, the band returned to Sonic Iguana Studios in Lafayette, IN with Mass Giorgini mixing and mastering. The resulting songs were released on several split EP's with bands such as The Dwarves, The Queers, The Apers and The Connection.

Beehive was a Vietnam war era anti-personnel round packed with metal flechettes fired from an artillery gun most popularly deployed during that conflict. It is also known as flechette rounds or their official designation, antipersonnel-tracer (APERS-T). Typically, artillery gunners fire using indirect fire, firing at targets they cannot see by line of sight with information provided by a forward observer. However, during the Vietnam War, there was a demand for a munition that could be fired directly at enemy troops, in cases where an artillery unit was attacked.

This DLC was developed by Bohemia Interactive's new studio in Amsterdam, Netherlands under the code-name Orange, and pursued an aspect of warfare not often covered by other games. This DLC was released on September 7, 2017. The DLC added many new features, including a new faction called the International Development and Aid Project (which specialises in rapidly responding to crisis requiring humanitarian aid), a new miniature campaign for users to play, new vehicles, two new unmanned aerial vehicles, an APERS Mine Dispenser, cluster munitions, and various new clothing items.

Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. From 1998 to 2011 Darlington opened for Lagwagon, Bowling for soup, DGeneration, Centro-matic, the Click Five, the Apers, Teen Idols, the Lillingtons, the Huntingtons, Bratmobile, the Queers, the Unlovables, Good Riddance, the Eyeliners, SR-71 (band), the Prozacs, Red Lightning and appeared on the Vans Warped tour twice. In 2012, Hollywood-based independent record label, Broadway Recording Company, signed Darlington to a contract.

Although not strictly shrapnel, a 1960s weapons project produced splintex shells for 90 and 106 mm recoilless rifles and 105 mm howitzers where it was called a "beehive" round. Unlike the shrapnel shells’ balls, the splintex shells contained flechettes. The result was the 105 mm M546 APERS-T (anti-personnel-tracer) round, first used in the Vietnam War in 1966. The shell consisted of approximately 8,000 one-half gram flechettes arranged in five tiers, a time fuze, body shearing detonators, a central flash tube, a smokeless propellant charge with a dye marker contained in the base and a tracer element.

Blink-182 covered the band's song "The Girl Next Door" on their album Buddha, with Blink-182 guitarist Tom Delonge citing them as one of the biggest influences on his songwriting. Additionally, a number of independent punk bands such as The Apers, The Leftovers, The Manges, Treephort, and The Unlovables cite Screeching Weasel as influential. Screeching Weasel has been categorized as skate punk, pop punk and punk rock.

The L85 Rifle, referred to on occasion as the L85 Individual Weapon (IW), is the standard rifle for the British Armed Forces. When initially adopted for service, the L85's grenade-launching capability was fulfilled by then-conventional rifle grenades, namely the L74A1 HEAT and L75A1 HEAT-APERS versions of the Luchaire grenade; when these experienced problems with premature detonation, the L85A1 HE grenade was adopted in their place. Various underbarrel grenade launcher models were trialled, including the M203 and a proprietary "Enfield Close Assault Weapon" developed by Royal Ordnance. It was eventually decided that the L17A2/L123 40mm Underslung Grenade Launcher (UGL) should be adopted; this is issued on a scale of one per fireteam, and is used with fragmentation, HEDP, red phosphorus, white illuminating parachute, infra-red illuminating parachute, practice, and drill ammunition, with buckshot ammunition also being intended for adoption.
