Already as a student, Kobaslija had demonstrated a strong interest in and commitment to an interpretive-realist mode of painting that sought to capture the essence of each place he depicted; human figures were not always his main subjects, but their effects on the ambiances of the spaces he portrayed became part of his content.

In 1982, "guitarist René Lussier and saxophonist/flutist Jean Derome presented a few duo concerts in Montreal under the name Ambiances Magnétiques [...] They teamed up with guitarist André Duchesne and clarinetist Robert Marcel Lepage and launched the label Ambiances Magnétiques in 1983". The label was managed by a collective, and its releases were of performances by its members and close associates until the late 1990s. In this initial period, several others were added to the core group: Joane Hétu, Diane Labrosse, Danielle P. Roger, Michel F. Côté and Martin Tétreault. As a group, they performed together only twice, including for the album Une Théorie des Ensembles.

André Duchesne (born 1949) is a Canadian experimental music guitarist and composer. He was a co-founder of Ambiances Magnétiques, a Canadian musical collective and record label, and formed several experimental music bands, including Conventum, Les 4 Guitaristes de l'Apocalypso-Bar and Locomotive. Duchesne has also released five solo albums.

Before each scene, a display screen shows the name of the flight and reason for the disaster (e.g. "Icing" or "Multiple bird strikes"). To mark both the 150th anniversary of Canada and the 375th anniversary of Montreal, the bridge was refitted in 2017 with new decorative lights. The project, "Living Connections" was designed and installed over a period of 3 years by Montreal-based Moment Factory in collaboration with other local partners (Réalisations Inc. Bethlehem Library (Spanish: Parque Biblioteca Belén) is one of ten library parks in Medellín, Colombia, located in Comuna 16. The library was designed by Japanese architect Hiroshi Naito in collaboration with the University of Tokyo. It is named after its location in the Belén (Bethlehem) commune of Medellín. The library park has public spaces with three different ambiances: a green plaza, a water plaza, and a plaza for the public.

In 1983 Duchesne, Lussier, Derome and Robert M. Lepage formed Ambiances Magnétiques, a musical collective and artist-run record label specialising in avant-garde music. Duchesne released his first solo album, Le Temps des Bombes on the new label in 1984. Then he began writing contrapuntal compositions for a guitar quartet, and formed Les 4 Guitaristes de l'Apocalypso-Bar (The 4 Guitarists of the Apocalypso-Bar) with Lussier, Bouchard and Roger Boudreault to perform the pieces.

He has collaborated with Derome and Lepage, and has recorded two albums with the Fred Frith Guitar Quartet, Ayaya Moses (1997) and Upbeat (1999). Lussier is featured prominently in Step Across the Border (1990), a documentary by Nicolas Humbert and Werner Penzel about the work and travels of Frith. Lussier was also a member of Frith's band Keep the Dog (1989–1991). In 1983, Lussier co-founded the Ambiances Magnétiques record label and recording with Derome, Lepage and Duchesne.

Jean Derome (born June 29, 1955) is a French Canadian avant-garde saxophonist, flautist, and composer. A prominent figure in the Montreal musique actuelle (new music) scene, Derome has been a member of experimental, jazz, and rock groups, and has appeared on over 30 albums, including seven solo albums. He has written scores for over 30 films and co-founded Ambiances Magnétiques, a Canadian musical collective and independent record label. In 1992, Derome won the second annual Canadian Freddie Stone Award.

The work toured Québec in 2008, including a performance at the Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville, and undertook a 9-city Canadian tour in the autumn of 2009, to coincide with the release of the CD and DVD on Ambiances magnètiques. Brady's renewed interest in solo performance led to his second collaboration with Messier: the 65-minute work for video and electric guitar entitled 24 Frames, premiered in Montreal in October 2008. Another long-term collaborator, the Topology ensemble of Brisbane.

Le trésor de la langue (English: The treasure of language) is an album of music released by the guitarist René Lussier on the Ambiances Magnétiques label in 1989. Many consider it to be Lussier's greatest album. The album contains several interviews with residents of Québec of the importance of the french language within the province. A number of famous historical recordings are also featured, including Charles de Gaulle's famous "Vive le Québec libre!" speech of 1967 and a recitation of the FLQ Manifesto.

Australia, brought out a CD of Brady's chamber work in 2007, entitled SCAT, on Ambiances magnètiques. His 2002 work 20 Quarter Inch Jacks was given its American premiere in January 2009, produced by CALARTS at the REDCAT Hall of the Disney Auditorium, in Los Angeles, and at Rosza Hall in Calgary in 2012. After many years away from the orchestral composition, 2007 onwards saw a major increase in orchestral works by Brady. This new orchestral music is very different from his earlier, modernist works.

EMIM produced a number of groups, many with Derome as composer, arranger and flutist. In 1983 Derome began playing alto saxophone with La Grande Aventure, a street band popular at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and later with two groups devoted to the music of Thelonious Monk, Mystérioso and Évidence. In 1983 Derome and Québec guitarist René Lussier formed Ambiances Magnétiques, a musical collective and independent record label, providing an outlet for the avant-garde music of its members. One of the first groups from this collective was Les Granules.

It is their second album, after Ayaya Moses (1997), and was released by Canadian record label, Ambiances Magnétiques. The live material was drawn from concerts the quartet had performed in Germany, Switzerland, France and Spain in November 1997. The studio tracks were recorded at Tonstudio Amann in Vienna, Austria, also in November 1997.

Ayaya Moses is a 1997 studio album by the Fred Frith Guitar Quartet, a United States-based contemporary classical and experimental music guitar quartet comprising Fred Frith, René Lussier, Nick Didkovsky and Mark Stewart. It is their debut album and was recorded in Radio-Canada's Studio 12 at Maison Radio-Canada in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, seven years after the ensemble was formed in 1989. It was released by Canadian record label, Ambiances Magnétiques. The fourteen-track album comprises three pieces by external composers and arranged by the quartet, a piece composed by each of the four members of the quartet, and seven short pieces improvised by the group.

Later Stewart replaced Howell and the group became known as the Fred Frith Guitar Quartet. The quartet's first album under its new name was recorded in Radio-Canada's Studio 12 at Maison Radio-Canada in Montreal in July and November 1996, and was released on Lussier's own Ambiances Magnétiques label. The CD consisted of three pieces composed by Italian Olivia Bignardi and Québécois Claude Vivier; a piece composed by each member of the group; and a collection of improvised suites by the quartet. Their second album, Upbeat was drawn from concerts the quartet had performed in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and Spain in November 1997.

"I wanted to make a very eclectic album but also something not too long. Making a double album was a dream of mine for a long, long time and I felt ready to make this move," he explains. Discussing the sound and process of creating this album, Gonzalez says it was "written like a soundtrack to an imaginary movie with different ambiances, different atmospheres, different tempos, different orchestrations and different instrumentation.... When I make an album it's always about nostalgia, melancholy in the past and memories." On 19 July 2011, the breakthrough single "Midnight City", the first from Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, was released for streaming and free download on the band's official website.

The natural output value of these pyranometers does not usually exceed tens of millivolt (mV). From his early sketches in Paris or in Normandy, Latour's technique had always been sure, self-reliant and fluid; he never sought to describe but rather to evoke with an innate sense of formal ellipsis and economy of means. His impressionist schooling gave him a feel for atmospheric skies, moving waters and intense ambiances that he produced through the supple strokes of his brush. From the start too he sought to push very far the simplification of forms, leaving details aside to attain comprehensible and vivid, though pared down, visions of the world. His work is akin to visual haikus: the painting bears the somewhat hard trace of his brush; his drawings are "written" in hasty and tense ink gravid with allusion.

The term "situationist" refers to the construction of situations, one of the early central concepts of the Situationist International; the term also refers to any individuals engaged in the construction of situations, or, more narrowly, to members of the Situationist International. Situationist theory sees the situation as a tool for the liberation of everyday life, a method of negating the pervasive alienation that accompanied the spectacle. The founding manifesto of the Situationist International, Report on the Construction of Situations (1957), defined the construction of situations as "the concrete construction of momentary ambiances of life and their transformation into a superior passional quality." Internationale Situationniste No. 1 (June 1958) defined the constructed situation as "a moment of life concretely and deliberately constructed by the collective organization of a unitary ambiance and a game of events".

Lyckantropen Themes (subtitled Original Soundtrack For The Short Film By Steve Ericsson) is an original soundtrack album by Norwegian experimental collective Ulver. Produced by Ulver on mobile equipment in Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden in May 2002 for the Swedish short film Lyckantropen, the album was issued in November 2002 via Jester Records. Lyckantropen Themes is Ulver's first foray into film soundtrack music, although musically it has continuity with their previously released EPs, Silence Teaches You How to Sing and Silencing the Singing. The soundtrack has been described as “ambiguous moods and lurking-in-the-shadows electronic ambiances, setting the alternately suspenseful and melancholy mood of the soundtrack.” The soundtrack was nominated for a Spellemannprisen in 2002; an award presented to Norwegian musicians, in the 'Open Class' category. The film’s DVD release features an interview with Kristoffer Rygg and Jørn H. Sværen, entitled Shape Shifting - The 1st Decade of Ulver.

During the whole course of his active life he carried within himself the images of the native landscape of Boka Kotorska and the rich cultural heritage of his home town, while his education in Zagreb provided him with an access to the essential experiences of modernism and figurative autonomy, especially thanks to Kosta Angeli Radovani. So in his work, apart from the early abstract phase, he tried to affirm the contemporary anthropomorphic and associative sculpture and figurative painting, succeeding in evoking the figures and ambiances of recognizably Mediterranean descent. No matter how stylized, that figure is full of life, just like a human being who works, thinks, feels... He was intrigued by the idea of integrating art with architecture, and especially integration of art into workspace, so he collaborated with numerous architects. Among his most prominent are the collaborations with Bernardo Bernardi (hr), Julije De Luca (hr), Vjekoslav Ivanišević, Dinko Kovačić (hr), Lovro Perković (hr), Jerko Rošin (hr), and Ivan Vulić.

In 2008, Will Z. founded Cosmic Trip Machine and recorded four albums, Lord Space Devil, Vampyros Roussos, The Curse of Lord Space Devil and Golden Horus Name for the Berlin-based Nasoni Records, home of Earthling Society, Vibravoid, Space Invaders & Nik Turner... In March 2016, Iggy Pop broadcast three extracts of Golden Horus Name on his BBC Radio 6 Music show During Golden Horus Name sessions, Will Z. helped the Psychedelic folk band Can am des puig, formed in 1977 in Deià, to finish their four parts project and worked with Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth from Gong before launching a solo career. His first solo album, Shambhala Album, inspired by meditation is recorded, produced and distributed in 10 days. In 2013, Will Z. worked on 12 Visions, based on Là-bas by French novelist Joris-Karl Huysmans and Dark Tales, inspired by Syd Barrett and the first Black Sabbath albums. Will Z. used Korg MS-20 plugged in Turbo RAT effects pedal to create Drone metal ambiances. .

Fischlin is active as a musician and has recorded most recently with the Vertical Squirrels, an instant composition, free improvisation collective he co-founded with Ajay Heble, Lewis Melville, and Rob Wallace. The Vertical Squirrels is "a Canadian free improvisation musical collective dedicated to diverse musical expressions as a teaching and learning tool––and also as a vehicle for building community and establishing positive dialogue across personal, cultural, linguistic, geographic, and political barriers." Initially conceived as an informal outlet to get Heble back into playing piano after years of curating the Guelph Jazz Festival (but rarely performing himself), the Squirrels quickly morphed into a recording and gigging band focused on their distinctive brand of in-the-moment improvisation. Since then, the Vertical Squirrels have performed, playlisted, and reviewed internationally. The band's first CD, Hold True (Accroche-toi!) was released in 2010 on the Montreal-based label Ambiances Magnétiques and their second CD, Winter’s Gate, was released in 2011 under the BarCode Free label. The band’s latest endeavor is an album in collaboration with Grammy-nominated Canadian jazz musician Jane Bunnett, as well as Larry Cramer, Ben Grossman, and Scott Merritt, forthcoming in 2013.

During the 1980s, Frith began writing music for dance, film, and theatre, and a number of his solo albums from this time reflect this genre, including The Technology of Tears (And Other Music for Dance and Theatre) (1988), Middle of the Moment (1995), Allies (Music for Dance, Volume 2) (1996), and Rivers and Tides (2003). Exploring new forms of composition, Frith also experimented with chance or accidental compositions, often created by building music around "found sounds" and field recordings, examples of which can be found on Accidental (Music for Dance, Volume 3) (2002) and Prints: Snapshots, Postcards, Messages and Miniatures, 1987–2001 (2002). Their guitar music, varying from "tuneful and pretty, to noisy, aggressive and quite challenging", appears on two albums, Ayaya Moses (1997) and Upbeat (1999), both on Lussier's own Ambiances Magnétiques label.
