Occasionally a Loomis or an associate of theirs would be arrested, but between bribed officials, the Loomises' excellent lawyers, and their willingness to make sure that inconvenient paperwork or evidence disappeared, they could almost always avoid conviction.

In retaliation, Dwyer murders Brennan. While making popcorn, Kenny is called by an unknown person, who flirts with him. The conversation turns disturbing, and ends when a man wearing a hood and face paint breaks into Kenny's house, and rapes him. The next day, Kenny's friends discuss what happened to him, revealing that he was so traumatized from being sexually assaulted that he has suffered a mental breakdown. Investigating the attack is Deputy Derek, who questions Kenny's friends, all of whom have reasonable alibis.

On March 18, 1882, a Cowboy fired from a dark alley through the glass door of Campbell & Hatch's saloon and billiard parlor, killing Morgan Earp. The suspects in both incidents furnished alibis supplied by other Cowboys and were not indicted. Wyatt Earp, newly appointed as Deputy U.S. Marshal in Cochise County, then took matters into his own hands in a personal vendetta. He was pursued by county sheriff Johnny Behan, who had received a warrant from Tucson for Wyatt's killing of Frank Stilwell.

He argues that history shows, wherever there is a tyrant, there emerges a secret society to fight back. Colin Ash-Smith (born 1968) was the only child of Aubrey and Diane Ash-Smith,. He was aged 24 at the time of Tiltman's murder, and working locally as a milkman, and still lived with his parents at their home in Swanscombe. According to the CPS, Ash-Smith developed a pattern after the murder and set up false alibis on four occasions as well as increasing the ferocity and severity in his attacks. He is currently imprisoned at HMP Durham.

All three were later revealed to have strong alibis: Sarti was undergoing medical treatment in France, another was in prison at the time, and the third had been in the French Navy. Lilly's murder changes Veronica's life completely, being the catalyst for a series of events that include Veronica's father Keith losing his job, Veronica's mother Lianne leaving town, and all of Veronica's friends abandoning her. Through the first season, Veronica investigates Lilly's murder, and finds that nothing is what it seems. All three of the Kanes falsified their alibis, and Lilly's time of death was three hours off. Clarence Wiedman, the head of security for Kane Software, called in the tip that got Abel Koontz arrested.

The authorities found close to $500,000 in phony $20 bills. As a result of a plea agreement, both father and son spent 24 months in a federal prison and were released in 1992. In 2007, Windham published his book titled True Lies and Alibis, which tells about his personal life and his professional wrestling career.

Nicholas had been involved in a dispute with Sprague over the renewal of the Gordons' liquor license. The Gordons, who were Irish Catholics, received the support of the state labor movement, which consisted primarily of Irish and Italian immigrants. The labor movement saw the trial as part of their struggle against the commercially and politically powerful industrialists represented by the Sprague family. At the trial in 1844, Nicholas and William Gordon were found to have ironclad alibis, but considerable circumstantial evidence was presented against John.

The Earps checked a shoe repair shop in Bisbee that had removed a heel matching the boot print from Frank Stilwell's boot. When Stilwell arrived in Bisbee with his livery stable partner, Pete Spence, Morgan and Wyatt Earp, Marshall Williams, agent of Wells Fargo & Co., and Deputy Sheriff William Breakenridge arrested them for the robbery. Stilwell and Spence were arraigned before Judge Wells Spicer and posted $7,000 bond. At the preliminary hearing, Stilwell and Spence were able to provide several witnesses who supported their alibis.

The following day Edward Lynch decided to report the crime, although according to a report from a parish priest, an apology and payment for the broken loom had been offered to him. The women then informed the police, who later realised that the hooligans had stable alibis. Their debut album, Guide to Better Living, was issued in September 1997 with its 16 tracks written by Jamieson, or co-written by Jamieson and Hansen, or Jamieson and Davern. It peaked at No. 11 on the ARIA Albums Chart and remained in the top 50 for 36 weeks. The group followed with six more studio albums, Easy (September 1999), New Detention (June 2002), Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills (September 2004), Alibis & Other Lies (July 2007), Six to Midnight (September 2009), and Black Rabbits (September 2012). All six peaked in the top 10 with both New Detention and Alibis & Other Lies reaching No. 2. Their highest point on the related ARIA Singles Chart was actually achieved by two of their extended plays, Pushing Buttons (September 1998) and Panic Attack (March 2003) – each peaked at No. 13. In 2005 Jamieson won Best Male Performer in the second annual Jack Awards, while Grinspoon won their first ARIA Award for Best Rock Album for Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills. Grinspoon remained together for over 18-years and from December 2013 they have been in an indefinite hiatus. In total the band had received 13 ARIA Award nominations.

The Weekly Alibis Devin D. O'Leary acknowledged the style as Paper Rad's own and found the writing more solid than that of Adult Swim's programming for which it could be mistaken. The jokes were not instantly funny according to O'Leary, but the visual style combined with the writing would provide amusement for Paper Rad's existing fans. Art-related publications, on the other hand, gave praise to Jones' creativity. During Season 3, Jeremy is deployed to Iraq, presumably near his father as they met on base. While there he lost a buddy from his platoon and witnessed the death of his best friend PFC Mark Rison. He returns from Iraq in the episode "Shrapnel and Alibis" and is shown to be suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder and survivor's guilt in subsequent episodes. In the season finale, the show ended with Denise and Frank returning home from Michael's promotion ceremony to hear a gunshot from inside the house.

Speeders Fight Back is a nontraditional court show on TruTV that began airing in the fall of 2008 and is a spin-off of Speeders. 'Shelby Lynne (born Shelby Lynn Moorer, October 22, 1968) is an American singer and songwriter and the older sister of Allison Moorer. Of the IRA men involved, only Frank Teeling was captured during the operation. After a lunch with Logan, Veronica notices that the Hearst Lampoon’s offices were egged. Weevil tells her the Dean's office was egged the same night, which Veronica relays to her father. Keith receives the police report of Dean O’Dell’s death, but he doesn’t find anything useful in it. Keith interrogates the Lilith house girls, who admit to egging his office, but seem to have alibis for the Dean’s death. However, Keith later informs Veronica that Nish’s alibi doesn’t check out for the Dean’s car but that it was likely true for Mindy’s car, putting her under suspicion.

When Stafford refuses to leave, even after a near riot outside his house, Kent savagely assaults him. Ashes Remain is an American Christian rock band, formed in 2001 and based in Baltimore, Maryland. The band was founded by Josh Smith and Ryan Nalepa. Later on, police determined the two Mongrel Mob members both had alibis and their DNA did not match that found in the body. The DNA came from Malcolm Rewa but police did not learn that until four years later. After claiming he was at the scene, Pora was held for the next four days during which he was questioned about the case for 14 hours without a lawyer.

Because he responded to the call about the murder of Gordon Pratt—the prime suspect in the shooting of Bolander, Felton, and Howard— Tim Bayliss is given the unpleasant task of investigating the murder. Despite his protests, Lt. Al Giardello orders Bayliss to question the other officers in the Homicide unit, which makes him highly unpopular among his co- workers. No one in the unit considers Pratt's death to be unfortunate, and they all, to varying degrees, are offended by Bayliss's questions, despite the knowledge that he is merely following orders. The problem is compounded when Giardello, dissatisfied by the investigation's dead end, orders Bayliss to double check the detectives' alibis.

On the evening of December 28, 1981, Jay and Ruth Hunter, Michael's father and stepmother, were shot to death in the bedroom of their home in Pacifica, California. The events surrounding their death, as revealed through the evidence and testimony at trial, were as follows. In November 1981, about a month before the homicides, Hunter told his friend, Thomas Henkemeyer, of plans to kill his father and stepmother. According to Henkemeyer, Hunter laid out several scenarios for possible alibis, including taking out a hiking permit in Yosemite National Park and then returning to commit the murders, or going down to San Diego where friends would purportedly provide an alibi.

Kindaichi mysteries are whodunnit stories featuring (usually multiple) gruesome murders, often with a supernatural tinge. They are typically of the style of John Dickson Carr, and frequently feature a locked room mystery or other seemingly "impossible" crimes, such as a murder occurring when all surviving suspects have (apparently) airtight alibis. A notable distinction of The Kindaichi Case Files is that the killers are not depicted as psychopathic murderers and the murders are never committed for financial reasons alone. Kay found the two at an abandoned overland stage station. He believed they were preparing a robbery or to break Grat out of jail. Bam Margera later enlisted Ginsburg for his musical project Fuckface Unstoppable, although in January 2013 it was announced that the guitarist had officially left the band, claiming that he couldn't "witness or enable the downward spiral of [his] long time friends anymore". After a few days, Jim Olive's business partner became concerned about his absence from work and contacted police, who visited the Olive house and spoke with Marlene Olive. She provided various alibis for herself and Riley, which the police later determined were false, and stories about her parents having either disappeared or died, claiming that one parent had killed the other and then disappeared with the body or that both parents were killed by Hells Angels. Police also noted the recently cleaned room in the otherwise disordered house. Manduwoc, a small seaside resort town (located "a few hours train- ride from New York City" (6)) has been suffering financially from gradual loss of its tourist trade, and morally from gossip spread by Luane Devore about the seedy activities of the town's inhabitants. Before the murder even happens, numerous characters are viewed as potential suspects, notably the psychotic Bobbie Ashton, whose future was ruined when Luane revealed him as the bastard offspring of a mixed-race relation. Also involved in the potential crime is the suspected hoard of money Luane keeps from her husband Ralph's earnings. When finally Luane is found dead, having fallen down a flight of stairs, the characters scramble to establish their alibis.

Grinspoon are an Australian rock band from Lismore, New South Wales formed in 1995 and fronted by Phil Jamieson on vocals and guitar with Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass guitar and Kristian Hopes on drums. Also in 1995, they won the Triple J-sponsored Unearthed competition for Lismore, with their post-grunge song "Sickfest". Their name was taken from Dr. Lester Grinspoon, an associate professor emeritus of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, who supports marijuana for medical use. Grinspoon changed their sound to more mainstream rock by their 2002 album, New Detention, gaining fans and peaking at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Charts; similarly 2007's Alibis & Other Lies also reached No. 2.

Batman Beyond #5 (November 2010) Hush later dies during a final confrontation with Terry, the real Dick Grayson, and a new Catwoman, after they thwart the villain's plan to destroy Gotham. The kidnapper, dubbed the "Voice", however, seems to be smarter than the police investigators on the case as he knows not to stay on the phone too long and changes potential hostage exchange locations. Not to mention, his emotionless voice suggests a possibility of him being confident he not get caught. Barry Michael George (born 15 April 1960, also known as Barry Bulsara) is an English man who was found guilty of the murder of English television presenter Jill Dando and whose conviction was subsequently overturned on appeal. Dando's profile and popularity ensured high public interest in the case. When no motive could be found, and no evidence emerged from criminals or British intelligence of a contract or conspiracy to kill Dando, police began to reassess evidence that had been set aside at the start of the inquiry. George was in the area at the time, sought to plant false alibis, had a history of violence and stalking women, took photos of female TV presenters and despite denials was found to have possessed a gun.

Over the course of six days, the court heard a succession of witnesses piecing together the complicated story of how Thomas had met her death. Webster had attempted before the trial to implicate the publican John Church and her former neighbour Porter, but both men had solid alibis and were cleared of any involvement in the murder. 13 September 2010 Before his death in 2001, journalist Martin O'Hagan revealed to fellow journalist Paul Larkin that a high-ranking RUC officer had told him that Wright had received operational assistance from RUC Special Branch along with the code name "Bertie". Years earlier, the UVF had conducted its own internal investigation into allegations that Wright was a police informer. UVF sources later spoke to journalists suggesting that Wright had worked for RUC Special Branch, who in turn provided him with alibis, protection, as well as information on suspected republicans. According to an IRA Intelligence officer, Wright had been specifically selected and trained by the Northern Ireland security forces to take over the role as key player in Mid-Ulster from former brigadier and alleged Special Branch agent Robin Jackson.

When several suspects in the attacks were set free by the court − some owing to legal technicalities and others based on the strength of alibis provided by sympathetic confederates – Wyatt Earp decided he could not rely on civil justice, and took matters into his own hands. On March 20, 1882, a newly deputized United States Marshal Wyatt Earp formed a federal posse that began to scour Cochise and Pima counties for the purpose of hunting down and killing the men he thought guilty of the attacks.

Poirot learns a few important facts on the case: all in the household, except parlourmaid Ursula Bourne, have alibis for the murder; while Raymond and Blunt heard Ackroyd talking to someone after Sheppard left, Flora was the last to see him that evening; Sheppard met a stranger on his way home, at Fernly Park's gates; Ackroyd met a representative of a dictaphone company a few days earlier; Parker recalls seeing a chair that had been in an odd position in the study when the body was found, that has since returned to its original position; the letter from Mrs Ferrars has disappeared since the murder. Poirot asks Sheppard for the exact time he met his stranger. He later finds a goose quill and a scrap of starched cambric in the summer house, and a ring with the inscription "From R" in the backyard.

Ashes Remain is from Baltimore, Maryland, where Josh Smith of Florida and Ryan Nalepa met at River Valley Ranch, a summer youth camp during worship services. They prayed about forming a band, which they did when the opportunity arose for Smith to become worship leader at a church. This church was just minutes from Nalepa's home, so this facilitated the band's creation. The other members of the band, which comprised Rob Tahan, Jonathan Hively and Ben Kirk, were not added until some years later. In the summer of 2003, Ashes Remain released their first independent record, Lose the Alibis. According to the band, the album moved around 2,000 copies in one year. On August 2, 2003, the band announced on their official website that they competed and won the "Philadelphia Regional Christian Artist Talent Search 2003". Later on, they went to Charlotte, NC for the next round of competition on September 24, 2003. On February 17, 2004, Ashes Remain stated on their website that they will be interviewed on February 29, on Baltimore's 98 Rock.

According to Yesh Din's study, which was conducted in 2005, among complaints against Israelis, more than 90% were closed without indictments mainly due to perpetrators not being found, 5% were lost and never investigated, and 96% of trespassing cases (including sabotage of trees) and 100% of vandalism and other property offense complaints led to no indictment. As well as collecting statistics, Yesh Din examined 42 closed investigation files and found a number of shortcomings, including the use of Hebrew to record testimonies given in Arabic; frequent failure to check the scene where the alleged offense took place; often not taking down eye-witness testimonies; widespread lack of recourse to live identification line-ups with suspected Israeli civilians; hardly any confrontations between complainants and suspects; failure to check alibis; hasty closure of files shortly after the complaint was registered: closing of files even when evidence was sufficient to indict suspects: police refusing to register complaints, and pressure from the Civilian Administration being used to avoid filing complaints. 8% of complaints resulted in indictments. The Israeli Justice Ministry responded by stating that legal authorities were closely following specific cases, but said that it was not in its authority to deal with every case.
