The bathhouse at the so-called lower lake interrupts the otherwise dense reed beds and allows the restricted public access to the water. Equipped with an appropriate infrastructure, lawns with shade trees, barbecue areas and a children's playground, the beach is very popular because the entrance is free.

Rather, there are live actors in scary costumes that come at the patrons out of the darkness and taunt them, yell at them, speak in creepy voices, etc. They have been known to grab, push and pull patrons in order to get a reaction. There are also scary sounds like growls, eerie music, spooky voices, yelling, and so on. Highlights of the attraction include a room where the walls appear to shrink, a shaky drawbridge, a car charging at the tourists, and a room where two black air mattresses inflate on the tourists and they are forced to crawl on the ground and push the mattresses out of the way in order to survive claustrophobia.

Sleeping pads are lightweight, reduced-size and reduced-thickness air mattresses intended for camping and backpacking, and may feature a layer of foam insulation under the air chambers. Higher quality air chambers use vulcanized rubber, covered in canvas or of polyurethane with a cloth shell or tick(ing). Permanent air beds will look almost like conventional beds with the exception of having a hose (one air chamber) or hoses (two air chambers) coming out of the head of the bed. These hoses will be connected to an air inflation device, with two outlet valves, that will have a remote control(s) so that each person can adjust the firmness of his or her side to his/her own exact needs.

On January 20, 2009, after failing to appeal to the government for protection against loss of homes and businesses, around 40 renters occupied an abandoned 4-story building in Yongsan District to protest against the insufficient compensation, as a result of urban redevelopment. The protesters were in possession of a considerable amount of incendiary materials and were throwing down Molotov cocktails in defense of the police suppression. In response to the protest, the police department swiftly despatched the SWAT team without prior run-through of the action or verbal negotiation with the protestors and the police was only equipped with one crane, one pump fire truck, and no air mattresses. During the clash between protestors and the police, a fire broke down and eventually took the life of five protestors and one police officer.
