In 1958 saw the groundbreaking of the North "Y", which was the location of the Bathurst Jewish Community Centre. In 2009, LSE began a £35m project for to build a new building that would house the Students' Union. Known as the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, it is the second part of LSE's wider estate investment plan, following the opening of the New Academic Building (NAB) in 2008. The centre is the first new structure on the School campus for more than forty years, and aims to be the "best student building in the world." Approximately 80% of the new building is Students' Union space, including a 1000-person capacity venue, the Three Tuns bar, two cafes, gym, aerobics studio, advice centre, media room (with radio booths), 6th floor roof terrace and Union offices (including Sabbatical Officers').

The leisure centre was built in the 1970s, and is owned by Mole Valley District Council and managed by Fusion Lifestyle. The centre was extended in the 1980s with the Mole Barn. Plans to build a new centre on the site were drawn up by Mole Valley District Council prior to 2006, but instead the facility was given a 20-month, £12.6m refit and further extension, reopening (ten months late) in March 2011. John Bourgignon (Candy) is an amiable chauffeur and would-be drummer who is engaged to the daughter (Mills) of an extremely disapproving United States congressman (Hingle). As the wedding date approaches, Bourgignon's sleazy film-director friend (Levy) blackmails the senator into allowing him to record the ceremony, while Bourgignon runs afoul of a motorcycle gang and later finds himself kicked out onto the nighttime city streets while handcuffed to a dead man (Hudson). Worst of all, a local aerobics studio has become the front for an inept religious cult which has targeted the senator for assassination, and attempts to drug and brainwash Bourgignon into killing his future father-in-law during the wedding ceremony. In the end, with the questionable help of his even more hapless friend (Flaherty), Bourgignon more or less saves the day, and more or less lives happily ever after.

The David G. Lindquist Student Center includes the gymnasium and home court of the Samson basketball and Volleyball teams while serving as the practice facility for the women's softball team. Specialist sports trainers are always on hand in the Sports Complex to advise on fitness regimes. In 2005, the sports complex offered 37 classesDCU sport classes per week, covering everything from aerobics to weight training. The sports complex also includes a twenty-five metre, five-lane, deck level swimming pool with tepidarium, footbaths, spa pool, steam room, wellness spa, ice fountain, laconium, multi-jet pulse showers, scented multi-jet super shower and sauna.
